Inn Details
A small hotel and restaurant within a beautiful old village school in the stunning Blackdown Hills. Built by the descendents of Sir Francis Drake in 1872 with huge stained glass windows and stone millioned windows.
Central to the village, The Belfry has a small and intimate dining room, once the classroom, seating just 12. Dinner is in Modern British style such as local duck breast, marinated in apple juice and calvados and served with caramalised apples and a green peppercorn sauce. Breakfast is a similar affair with local bacon, eggs and sausages and faitrade tea and coffee, the latter sourced from Origin Coffee in Cornwall. Homemade preserves and chunky toast are accompanied by homemade muesli.
Dinner is by advance reservation only as 24 hours notice is required of menu choices. Food is prepared to order.
