    Wooden Cabbage House located down our private drive, with the fields in the foreground having been cut for hay. Farmland surrounds the house, superlative views across the valley, sheer peace and quiet and tranquility, and dark nights for those interested in star gazing.
    Comfortable sofa and armchairs to enjoy and relax with a book in the beautiful garden room, where there is also a log fire for those chilly days. An ideal place to spend an hour on your return from a day visiting the coast of West Dorset, or National Trust Gardens and Houses.
    Wooden Cabbage House,a Victorian cottage down a private drive, extended and renovated in 2005, enjoying farmland all around, so giving peace and tranquility. Only 15 miles from Dorchester and 6 miles from Yeovil. 10 miles from the sea at Bridport, Abbottsbury and West Bay.
    Very good and delicious breakfasts are served in our Garden Room, overlooking the garden and wonderful views. Breakfasts begin with cereals - try our homemade, yoghurt, followed by a fresh fruit platter, full English breakfasts with fresh local eggs bacon sausages,mushrooms and tomatoes, and toast with our own homemade jams and marmalades. Served with teas and coffee.
    The beach at West Bay near Bridport, between Weymouth and Lyme Regis, now a World Heritage Site of The Jurassic Coast: within half an hours drive of Wooden Cabbage. Excellent fresh seafood available, and coastal walks on the beach or coast paths.
    Wooden Cabbage House in the evening sunlight, where you can enjoy a sunset most evenings, viewed from your bedroom window or from the garden room, or on the terrace in the summer. An ideal quiet location for a few days break, or a stopover on the way to Cornwall.

    Relax in our beautiful country house in a stunningly beautiful valley in West Dorset, just 10 miles north of the Jurassic Coast. Martyn and Susie's gift for putting guests at their ease makes every visitor feel relaxed and welcome at Wooden Cabbage. Very comfortable beds and pillows, crisp white linen and good water pressure for showers and baths. Their passion for Dorset, locally-sourced food, and their beautiful home and garden is completely infectious and they are always happy to share their local knowledge with visitors. They are a mine of information about beautiful places to visit, or walks to try, or local eateries. Dinner available on request for 35 pounds

    If you are looking for a rural retreat, this is perfect, while not being too far from a great pub and the town of Yeovil. Susie and Martyn are excellent hosts. I've never been moved to return to a B&B before, but I'll definitely return here and do some touring round Dorset.

      From Dorchester take A37 towards Yeovil, follow road for about 8 miles. Turn left to Evershot, go through village and about one mile outside village turn right to Chelborough. Small cross road, turn right. Follow road for approximately 2 miles. The entrance to our drive is on the left, has farm gates and a cattle grid - follow drive and we are the first house on the left.

Follow the lane for 2.5 miles, ignore a turn right signed to Halstock; and our farm gates and entrance to our drive are on the right about 200 yards further.
