This family owned free house country inn is a hidden Shropshire gem. Converted and sympathetically restored from farm buildings it has a warm and convivial atmosphere. The owners, Debra and Phil Wright take great pride in the reputation they have built for great fresh food, award winning real ales and excellent customer service. The inn has a lovely garden under Bucknell Mynd, large car park and camping in the level paddock. With a charming Mill Restaurant with original press and mill stone, a light and airy conservatory overlooking the garden, lounge bar with log fire and stable bar with pool table, the inn offers something for everyone. The Baron is a very unique venue to hold a special occasion, full of charm and character. From small birthday parties to large, formal wedding breakfasts in a marquee in the garden, nothing is too much trouble. Situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Baron is perfect for relaxing and touring the local area. On the border with Herefordshire and Wales, there are many market towns and villages which have castles, abbeys and fortresses - echoes of a turbulent past. Ludlow with its festivals, castle, boutique shops and market is the prettiest of towns boasting over 500 listed buildings. Knighton, Clun, Bishops Castle and Church Stretton all offer great days out. Tourist attractions including Ironbridge, home of the Gorge Museums and Acton Scott, featured in the BBC series ‘Victorian Farm’ are within easy reach.
