    Bowness is a fantastic base in which to discover what the Lake District has to offer, whether it be walking, on a bus tour, or by guided excursion. We will be happy to help you plan your days and have a whole selection of ideas for you and your family to get the most out of your visit to the Lakes. Our guest house is also next door to the famous World of Beatrix Potter attraction. We have five double rooms and two spacious family rooms. At Monties we also have a cafe which is open all day. Why not sample a delicious breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, or homemade cakes. If you fancy a glass of wine, we can offer you a fantastic wine list to choose from! Bowness is a busy village and has a real holiday feel in the evenings; there is a wide range of places to eat from gastro pubs, Chinese, Italian and lots of good pubs serving local ales - you really will be spoilt for choice.

      M6|Road|12|Exit M6 at jct 36 and follow the A591 to the Lake District. At Kendal roundabout follow signs for Windermere/Ambleside. After about 10 miles you will reach Windermere, take first left off A591 into village.Continue through the village and head down hill towards Bowness, passing the “Royalty Cinema” on your right, continue downhill until you reach the mini roundabout, Monties is on your right. PARKING is very limited due to central location and is offered on a first come basis only. Windermere Railway Station|Train|1.5|Head northwest toward A5074/High St, Turn left at A5074/High St, Continue to follow A5074, Turn left at A5074/Crescent Rd, Continue to follow A5074, downhill into village of Bowness Destination will be on the right just before roundabout
