Take the A52 towards Ashbourne which is signed from Derby inner ring road. After you arrive in Ashbourne follow the signs for A515 Buxton. 7 miles after leaving Ashbourne, find signs for Rivendale on the right hand side of the main road. Turn right into the drive, but after about 100 metres bear right into a car park and find a stone building with a "Prancing Pony" traditional pub sign. Drive past the pub sign and follow along a gravel drive. Our restaurant offers excellent local produce cooked simply ...and well. We are open 6 nights a week in the school holidays; weekends plus additional nights the rest of the time. The gammon is sourced from a local butcher who selects and slaughters his animals, hangs them properly and does not inject them with water or any other stupidity. We present two moist, succulent strips with chips or potatoes, egg and pineapple (as you like) and let the excellence of the meat do the talking. We also offer steaks, stews, fish, curries cooked with the same philosophy and cater for special dietary needs.

We do not refund deposits in the event of cancellation. Balances are due 28 days before the arrival date and are also non-refundable unless we are given a minimum 2 weeks notice - in which case we will transfer the booking to a later (low season) date during the same calendar year, subject to a £50 charge. - Accepted by the following agencies:
