The Acorns

The current Owners, offer a warm Northumbrian welcome to all guests at their newly opened Bed & Breakfast, in the historic town of Alnwick, Northumberland. The Acorns is situated in a leafy location, within walking distance of all of Alnwick's attractions, including the renowned Alnwick Garden, and also Alnwick Castle - famed for its starring roles in films such as Harry Potter. We are also ideally located for ease of access to the A1, and so form an ideal base to explore all that our beautiful and unique region has to offer - coast, castles, countryside and more!! At The Acorns great care has been taken to ensure that our rooms and facilities are equipped to offer our guests a level of comfort they would expect from a modern hotel. Additionally, as we are a small family run business, we hope our guests will enjoy the personal service and attention to detail that we are able to afford them. We want all our guests to enjoy their stay at the Acorns, to this end we respectfully request that the whole house is kept a smoke free zone. We are happy to provide an ashtray for smokers to use in the garden. Records show that there has been a Castle here since the 11th Century. Now dubbed the 'Windsor of the North', it has been the home of the Percy family (Earls and Dukes of Northumberland) for seven centuries. Famous names such as Robert Adam and Capability Brown help develop the Castle and grounds to their current splendour. In more recent times the Castle has been used as a stunning backdrop for some major films, and is perhaps now more famous in its role as Hogwarts in the Harry Potter films. Alnwick Castle is a popular visitor attraction, with a museum, state rooms, and extensive grounds to explore. There is a full program of activities to keep the kids and all muggles entertained too!
