Two suites available: the 1st reproduces the serenity of the Northwoods as a replica of the inside of a log cabin. It includes a stone-mantle gas fireplace, viewed from either the two-person Jacuzzi or the comfort of the bedroom. The 2nd suite features the same amenities but is decorated in the flair of the late 19th century. One room sports a hand-painted mural that transforms the room into a canopied tree loft and is complemented by a gas fireplace. Breakfast is served each morning featuring such favorites as pecan streusel coffeecake, orange French toast, or potato quiche. During the summer guests can swim in the heated pool adorned with dolphins riding the ocean waves, or walk 1/2 block to a Lake Michigan public beach to enjoy spectacular sunsets. The Baert Baron Mansion with its beautiful red VeneKlasen brick was built by Dr. Daniel Baert in 1872. Truly this is a classical example of the rare French Italianate design of the Nineteenth century in Western Michigan. Nineteen beautiful made to order Romanesque styled arched beveled lead glass windows imported from Paris, France added in 1880 gracefully add to the mansion’s allure. A magnificent wrap-around porch gives the Mansion a feeling of warmth and grace as guests look at the marvelous bird bath fountain placed on the north side of the grounds over 139 years ago. The Mansion has over 4000 sq. ft. of living space that has volumes of buried stories that are hidden within its walls. Exquisite original antique leaded stained glass windows and hard wood floors welcome you upon entry through the two massive oak doors that have stood the test of time.

Originally built as a boat house in 1927, the Bayside Inn offers a stay a a prime location in downtown Saugatuck. Kathy and Frank have spent many hours reclaiming this property from the waters, a seawall was added, but even that could not hold back the water. Eventually Kathy and Frank felt that much TLC was required and raised the building, with a new foundation and have transformed the Bayside Inn into and elegant and contemporary water-side Bed and Breakfast.
