Its been a while since I visited D.C. and I was looking for a B&B that was reasonably close to the mall and not too expensive; I found the Intown Uptown to meet both. But upon arrival, the place was well beyond my expectations: welcoming, informative, pleasant, great breakfasts, supplementary wine and cookies in the evenings and a truly helpful crew that is always available. There are two bus lines running to the mall 40-5 minutes ride, a bit long but not too bad. I highly recommend the Intown Uptown, and will definitely stay here again next time.

We arrived very late in the evening and were pleasantly surprised by the ease of parking, Regina's warm welcome, and help finding a restaurant. The Hollywood room has lovely wood decor and a spacious bathroom. The bed is beautiful, more firm than soft. Since this room faces the front, expect some street noise from the bus at night. The morning meal starts with delicious hot offerings accompanied by a great selection of fresh fruit, yogurt, and a full continental breakfast. We loved lingering over coffee and chatting with the other guests staying at the Inn. The owner has wonderful taste in art and furnishings. The staff, especially Emily, were fun, friendly and resourceful. We felt right at home--reading the paper, petting the dog Myles and playing with the pug Bosco. Wifi and internet connection (with a convenient computer and printer on the premise) worked perfectly. In the evenings, Sandra has drinks and cookies laid out on the buffet waiting for you to indulge. Very civilized living! We highly recommend staying at the Intown Uptown Inn whenever you want a home away from home experience with a personal touch.

We've just arrived from the US. In Washington, we spent 3 days in this lovely place. Besides being charming, people are the kindest possible. Very much helpful, with nice talk and suggestions. Everything was great, from decoration, to comfort and neighborhood. Convenience is also present here. Breakfast was the best we've ever had, when travelling. We had the impressionwe've spent some days in a friend's house, not in a inn. Nothing could be better!

We had our wedding at the Intown Uproem Inn. It was so wonderful staying with the family and holding an intimate reception in the backyard. It was a magical experience and we stayed in the Wisteria room, which has a romantic jacuzzi. The staff treated us like family and my family was so comfortable and relaxed. Thanks!

Great B&B, a bit on the far side...

The B&B is wonderful, the area is very nice and quiet. It is not close to downtown DC, but you can easily travel to/from it along 14th street with the bus 52 or 54 (it takes ~30min and cost $1.7). The neighboring area felt quite safe. Much of 14th street going up to the B&B is clearly low-income but does not look unsafe and we always saw lots of families around. We had to leave early so we did not try the breakfast, but tea, cold drinks, white wine and cookies were always available and a plus. Wireless was included in the price and worked perfectly. The only reason why perhaps I would not go back again is that it's far from downtown, but otherwise it was a very pleasant stay.
