The Hotelito San Rafael is a welcoming Mexican house, built at the turn of the nineteenth century, and located in the conveniently-situated Colonia San Rafael (one of the first planned neighborhoods in the city). With almost twenty years of experience. Only three blocks from the San Cosme station of Mexico's modern, efficient, and safe Metro system, the Hotelito is therefore just a few stops from the historic downtown of Mexico City (the Cathedral, Aztec Templo Mayor, museums, shopping, etc.).

My home away from home in Mexico City

    August 18, 2012

I have been staying at the Hotelito many times in the past 10 years, could not imagine staying anywhere else. I have come myself, or with my husband, or with friends. The location is great, and the hosts are extremely knowledgeable about anything having to do with Mexico City. Aside from that they are about the nicest people in the world. They know all the artists, museum curators, writers, restaurants, chefs. Their own (Mexican) cooking is divine. Wonderful people, wonderful atmosphere, very safe neighborhood. The clientele seem to be mostly artists from other countries, and the occasional academic or researcher. If you want the Sheraton experience this is not for you. If you want the real thing you can't do better.
