Great place to set up shop and explore the city. Within walking distance to all the sights with the nearby option of taking a bus. Keith was very helpful and courteous. We enjoyed our stay!

Our trip to DC was the first trip we had taken since getting married and it was a wonderful time. Keith was an excellent cook and made sure to make us feel at home.

Spent the last week in August at Mt. Vernon Square Bed & Breakfast (my second stay), and once again found it to be a most peaceful "home away from home." It is a quietly elegant place to stay. We stayed in the spacious State Room, with a very clean on suite bathroom and a comfortable king sized bed. Host Keith, with the assistance of Glenda and Oscar provided delicious, hot breakfasts each morning. The warm combination of food aromas, classical music or jazz playing and interesting bits of conversation with other guests, made for an easy, lovely start to our days spent in DC. Happily, we found that Mt. Vernon Square's generous breakfasts held us until early dinner. Keith sets just the right tone of being welcoming, friendly and non-intrusive. He offers helpful information about the surrounding area and provides guests with suggestions for must see places in DC. The Mt. Vernon Square B&B is a reasonably priced alternative to expensive DC hotel rooms. Lydia & Keith have done a great job with this 100+ year old beauty. I enjoyed breakfast, both the food and the conversation with other guests. I will be back soon.

MY husband and I recently had the lovely experience of spending four nights at The Mt Vernon Bed and Breakfast in Washington DC. Keith, our host, was extremely friendly and helpful as well as a terrific breakfastchef; he truly gave us the feeling of being guests in his home and what a beautiful home it is, with magnificent stained glass and an interesting decor. Rooms are large and we even had a double jacuzzi and a comfortable king size bed. The location of the inn couldn't be more convenient; we expected to be using the metro and cabs but found that we were easily able to get to all of the sights on foot. Good dining options were readily available and Keith made wonderful suggestions. There is also parking available for a small additional fee. My husband and I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else the next time we visit DC.

Stayed with Keith and Lydia during our honeymoon and from the moment we stepped up to the door till the time we left we felt like family. Wonderful breakfasts, enjoyable conversation and the room was perfect. We stayed in the Terrace room and loved the private balcony overlooking DC. We could see the top of the Capital building even. While there is some street noise it did end up being quite amusing after we got used to it. But all of that going on you still sleep great. The bed is comfortable, LOVED the throw blanket ;) and the shower was heavenly after walking around taking in the sights. We would positively stay there again!

My husband and I stayed at Mt. Vernon Square B&B for a long weekend in Nov. 2011. The property was nice, clean, and had interesting stained glass, wood floors, etc. We stayed in the Cleopatra room on the 3rd floor, which had a king-sized bed and an attached bathroom. Keith and Lydia were excellent and knowledgable hosts. Breakfast was really good and there were always other engaging guests from other parts of the US to talk with each morning. I would definitely recommend this B&B and will personally stay here again myself.

Keith and Lydia were fabulous! Lydia drove us to the main office where we purchased our subway tickets. They were so helpful. The subway is three blocks from their home. We walked home from the Washington Mall one day as their B&B was not far from downtown DC. The breakfast's were out of the world. Lydia shared recipes with us and we sent her recipes after we returned home. This was only our second time in a B&B and we were charmed with their home and accommodations.

I was a guest at the Mt. Vernon Square B&B for 4 days while attending a conference at the Washington Convention Center. My room was beautifully decorated and clean, as was the entire house. Lydia and Keith made me feel very welcome and their breakfast offerings were delicious. The neighborhood was safe and just a few blocks walking distance to the Convention Center and the Chinatown nightlife.

Keith and Lydia made our trip to D.C. one to remember! They assisted us in every way possible to enjoy the area and their beautiful home. We've never been more pleased with the property or hospitality! Can't wait to return someday... Thanks again! Linda & Dave

The hospitality was second to none. Wonderfully friendly service, like a home from home, especially with the great breakfasts. Highly recommended for business or pleasure travellers alike. We'll be back!

My wife and I stayed at Mt. Vernon Square B&B and we loved from the second we arrived. The hosts, Keith and Lydia are wonderfully kind and giving people. They were more than just people there to service us. They befriended us. The decor throughout the property is palatial. The food was good enough for us to want to return. The location is minutes from everything that DC has to offer. We stayed in the State Room and it was so comfortable. The bathroom was incredible. Stay here. It'll be a great experience. Make sure to pay for the off-street parking. DC parking is horrible.

My wife and I stayed at this B & B last month and we both thought it was one of the best trips we had ever had. Took Amtrak from CT to Union Station then a taxi to MVSB&B (note we walked to Union Square when we departed) This is a beautiful bldg and we did hear people passing by commenting on how nice they thought it was. We stayed in the terrace room and that allowed us to sit outside early in AM or after a long day. Very comfortable bed, nicely decorated, just a good feeling throughout the home. Lydia and Keith were both eloquent and made you feel at home. This is a nice neighborhood and you can really walk to anything. We did slow down around the neighborhood to enjoy various architecture of the other homes. The food was very good and plenty of it. Very thoughtfully prepared/presented and was enjoyed by all. You can tell they enjoy their "retirement" by the love and care in everything that is inside this B & B. We really had a great time and I believe they both had a hand in making this a great 5 days in DC.

My girlfriend and i stayed here for a few days and had the best time in DC!! The B&B is conveniently located near the Metro, great restaurants and everything else the city has to offer. The B&B itself is spectacular! When you walk in, you know immediately that you have made the right choice. Everything is spotlessly clean and tidy. Every morning before you head out, you are treated to an amazing breakfast! But again, is the people the make this such a wonderful B&B; the host go far and beyond to make you feel at home! They are wonderful people that helped us navigate our way through the endless options of restaurants and museums DC has to offer. Overall, a wonderful place to stay! Recommended to anyone looking for a place to call home for a few days!

I stayed one night last month with a friend. I am not always comfortable in bed & breakfast properties, but we both loved it and felt very safe & secure. The house was very quiet which was a plus! We only met Lydia briefly at breakfast, but Keith couldn't have been nicer. We stayed in the Cleopatra room and loved the decor and attention to detail (fresh lilies in our room!). I was impressed with the time & money they have put into decorating and refurbishing the property (our bathroom was fantastic!) Breakfast was impressive and we enjoyed meeting the others who were staying there. Our purpose for visiting was to attend the Smithsonian Craft Show, which was about 7 blocks away, so we loved the location. FYI, my brother's family stayed at the nearby Hampton Inn and paid more than we did, so I think the Inn is a good value for the convenient location.

This was our first stay at a bed and breakfast - just a date night for me and my wife to get out from the kids. The house was just beautiful, the innkeepers were wonderful and pleasant, and breakfast was fantastic. I highly recommend stopping here sometime - It was awonderful first time experience for us at a B&B!!

Great location with easy access to Metra train & downtown DC. Hosts were very hospitable and breakfasts were delicious. Great way to meet other guests and learn about DC.

Breakfasts were nutritious with lots of variety. Our hosts were friendly, warm, and helpful. We were able to walk to the capitol and white house; centrally located. The room was large, well appointed and bed was comfortable. Would highly recommend to friends and family.

Keith and Lydia were wonderful. We arrived by train in the late morning and they allowed us to check in right away. They recomended a wonderful restaurant in the neighborhood. They provided us with maps and directions and they explained the buses and metro lines. My husband and I loved the jacuzzi tub in the room. It was relaxing after a long day walking around DC. They even let us leave our bags at the B&B after we checked out so we could sight see more before our train home in the evening.

I stayed overnight with a group of girlfriends and we had a fabulous time. The bed and breakfast is absolutely gorgeous!! Wood mantels, stained glass windows, just amazing!! And the guest rooms are beautiful, comfortable, and luxurious. You could not ask for better hosts. We had the most delicious breakfast and plan to visit again soon. I could not recommend this B&B more highly!

This is a very special "heart of Washington DC" B&B in so many ways. I have stayed here several times and have reserved several weeks in 2011 consistent with my business travel The location is perfect particularly for walkers to the downtown, Chinatown, Convention Center area. The building and rooms are devine with lots of special and unique creature comforts indicative of the care and love that the owners have invested. Breakfast is my favorite meal and every day a hot, hearty, creative, delicious and nutritous meal is provided that suits my dietary nuances.The breakfast ambience - soft music, fire, newspaper, and their smiles - is the perfect way to start my work day. The owners are personable, caring, and thoughtful ~ I am well taken care of during my weekly stays. The pricing is reasonable, competivie and you cannot beat this value anywhere in this area. I have grown very fond of MVSBB and the owners ~ I am sure you will too!!

We spend a short 2 night stay. The house is a short walk to the Metro and Chinatown. Sightseeing is easy via the Metro or the circulator bus system. The breakfasts are delicious and plentiful with the chance to share experiences with the other guests over Lydia's fabulous eggs benedict.

What a great introduction to the area on our first trip to DC! Lydia and Kieth are gracious hosts. Their historic home is beautiful, and everything about our stay was pleasurable. The rooms are comfortable and clean. And the food -- Oh, the food! All I can say is: Amazing! Lydia and Kieth went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed, whether it was info on a great place to eat, or actually lending us a Metro Pass. The next time we visit, we'll be sure to stay at Mt. Vernon Square!

Lydia and Keith are gracious hosts! The bed and breakfast is just beautiful. The Copper Room was so lovely and comfortable. Softest sheets I've ever slept on! :) Keith was so great to wait up for us when our flight got delayed. Breakfast was so fantastic! Lydia's banana pancakes are to die for! Also, the B and B is just a few blocks from the Metro and just a few Metro stops from the Mall. I will stay here again when I return to DC and will recommend this B and B to all my friends. This B & B is certainly a winner! My husband and I only had a few days in DC, but Keith and Lydia made it such an enjoyable trip we plan on going back some time in the near future. The breakfasts were out of this world! Hard to come back to "cold cereal" after that! Keith was kind enough to give us an early lift down to the monument one morning. My husband and I recently stayed at the Mount Vernon Square B&B for four nights and couldn't be happier with our experience. The Copper Room was comfortable and beautifully decorated. The entire house is spectacular, successfully combining urban chic with historical elegance. Keith and Lydia made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Breakfasts were feasts that allowed us to skip or delay lunch while we explored the city. We're talking full meals. This B&B does not lay out some bagels and fruit and call it breakfast. The location couldn't have been better, in an "upwardly mobile" historic neighborhood only three blocks from a Metro station and a short walk to Chinatown, shopping, wonderfully eclectic restaurants, and DC sights. Keith and Lydia were happy to make recommendations to make our stay enjoyable and stress-free. Keith even drove us to the airport at the conclusion of our stay. Skip the high-rise hotel and experience a corner of the "real" DC.

Lydia and Keith could not have been more gracious hosts giving detailed directions and tour guide information each morning. The breakfasts varied and each a five star meal from eggs benedict to french toast. Walking distance to the city, close to Metro subway and buses or reasonable taxis right to the door. Our room was charming, warm and met all our needs. A safe and friendly base for our week in DC. We loved it!

Keith and Lydia did everything they could to make sure we had an enjoyable stay. We would definitely stay there again.

Lydia and Keith made our first time stay in DC truly comfortable and enjoyable. They are very much woven into the fabric of our wonderful memories of our DC visit. They were personable and went to a great deal of effort to make even breakfasts memorable and pleasing to our family's palate! The neighborhood area of the Bed & Breakfast has great charm. The great locale also allowed us to walk to so many places such as the National Mall, so many historical areas of the city and Union Station - or if we got too tired only a few short blocks return "home" from the Metro stop. The circulator bus also stopped close by to allow us to go to Georgetown with ease. We even had a good view of the Capitol Building from our room. There was also a good restaurant a couple of blocks away and a Safeway in case we needed any extra snacks... though the wonderful breakfasts were nutritious and filling and made it unnecessary! There was even a little fridge nearby our room with an extra coffeemaker (in addition to the coffeemaker already in our own room.) The beds and pillows were so comfortable! Lydia and Keith were attentive in every way and went that extra length to do things like extra towel change (which we didn't need, but appreciate their efforts.) They gave great suggestions for visiting DC and cheerfully helped us out to arrange a Monuments by Moonlight tour when we first arrived. We arrived a couple of hours early; yet they graciously welcomed us and helped us settle in. On the last day, as we decided to walk instead of taxi to Union Station with our luggage to catch the train, Lydia insisted walking with us to make sure we went the quickest, most direct route and not get lost! Fantastic and genial hosts!

We enjoyed our stay Mount Vernon square B & B. It was very clean, comfortable and well priced. An added bonus was the microwave and fridge in our room, which was beautifully decorated. It was easy to walk to major attractions or get a bus. Breakfasts were gourmet and filled us up for the day. Most of all Lydia and Keith were charming hosts who took the time to give us the information we needed. We very much enjoyed chatting to them over breakfast.

Recently I had the pleasure of staying with Keith and Lydia at their beautiful B&B. Keith and Lydia have a remarkable home with soaring ceilings and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. My room was large and very comfortable with a great private bathroom and a comfortable King sized bed. I slept well and was treated to a delicious breakfast and good coffee in the morning. I would stay here again!

From the moment we arrived, both Lydia and Keith were a delight and the prefect hosts. They made our stay almost feel like being at a 5 star hotel. The place is beautifully located and not far from transport and restaurants. The room has everything you need to make your stay more than comfortable. There is access to a fridge and coffee/tea making. One of the best surprises was the breakfast. It was best breakfast we have ever had in any place we have stayed, that includes 5 star hotels. After having breakfast, you don’t have to worry about a meal until dinner. This saves you up to $30 a day to spend on all the other attractions Washington has. My husband and I just returned from our first trip to DC -- 14 wonderful days of sites and activities including our 2 week stay at MVSBB! Friends of ours who live in Alexandria, VA had heard of MVSBB and recommended it as a possibility if we were looking for a B & B in DC itself instead of a regular nondescript hotel. After checking out the website and forgetting the 3 hour time difference I placed a call to MVSBB. Lydia and Keith were very gracious and answered all our questions. They made us feel so welcome right away (even before we met in person) and Lydia's and Keith's genuine sunny smiles, hospitality, warmth, great sense of humor and friendship couldn't help but make us feel right at home. We found MVSBB ideally located for both site seeing and eating. The Metro is only 3 blocks away, Gallery Place/Chinatown with countless eateries only a 5-7 minute walk, and the National Mall an easy walk in under 15 minutes. Breakfasts were all tasty and very satisfying. Somehow they were able to serve us a different entree each of the 13 mornings of our stay. Cross your fingers you will be fortunate enough to be there for breakfast on an eggs benedict or banana pancake morning. "Our" Copper Room was spacious and very comfortable with great decorative touches as was the entire brownstone mansion. Whenever we are able to get back to DC for another visit we know exactly where we want to stay. In the mean time we will continue to pass along Lydia's and Keith's names and sing the praises of MVSBB as THE place to stay in DC to anyone we hear is heading out that way. -- M & G from Washington (State)

This B&B made DC even more enjoyable! We stayed in the Cleopatra Room- large and very comfortable accommodations. Slept great every night! Keith and Lydia were fantastic! They were so helpful with our questions about getting around DC- and everything is walkable from the B&B. Breakfast every morning- really delicious! This was my husbands first experience at a B&B and he was thoroughly impressed. I am telling all my friends and family what a great place this is!

Mount Vernon Square B&B is a very interesting property. It is filled with all kinds of fascinating antiques. The room we had was very comfortable and well furnished. Keith and Lydia are very welcoming. They made our stay quite enjoyable. We will definately stay with them again.

Keith & Lydia were fantastic. Breakfast each morning (we were there a week) was different AND they accommodated my food/health issues quickly and without a fuss. They had extensive knowledge of good places to eat, places to visit we'd never heard of, very helpful in getting us reasonable transportation to the Airport. All in all they went above and beyond. Their house was beautiful, clean, airy, and a joy to come back to each evening.

My husband and I enjoyed a marvelous 4 night stay at the Mt. Vernon Square Bed and Breakfast. My boyfriend & I stayed at the Mt. Vernon Square B & B for 3 days at the end of April and were very pleased with our experience. From the time we arrived until the time we left, Lydia & Keith were friendly and helpful hosts. They advised us on what to see and the best ways to get around the city. We found the inn to be in a very convenient location for what we wanted to do and see in D.C. The building itself was spacious, as was our room and bathroom. Our favorite part of the building was the gorgeous stained glass found throughout the inn. Breakfast was absolutely delicious! In fact, we're still talking about how we wish we could make our scrambled eggs so perfectly. Lydia's banana pancakes were quite possibly the BEST pancakes I've ever had! We, unfortunately, had to catch an early train home on Sunday morning and needed to leave at 5:45 am. Lydia & Keith got up early to see us off with a breakfast-to-go (I'm a vegetarian, and they remembered to leave the ham off of my egg & cheese croissant). They even offered to drive us to the train station. Needless to say, if we find ourselves back in D.C., then we will certainly be back! Manchester, NH

A well located, beautifully presented Bed & Breakfast. With only 4 rooms available it remains intimate and very welcoming to the traveller come tourist. It is exactly how presented on their website – comfortable, hospitable and a home away from home. The rooms are furnished with an eye for detail, and all mod cons are within the room. As a female travelling solo, it was a fantastic alternative. All facilities are within walking distance. Each morning was commenced with a filling breakfast before heading off to see the sites of Washington DC. A 5 minute walk to the Circulator Bus, the closest Metro station or even the hop on hop off sightseeing bus makes planning the day very easy. A Safeway supermarket is around the corner as are a few eating places. Lydia and Keith were generous hosts who made my stay in Washington DC memorable (for all the right reasons!)

We would highly recommend this B&B to any independent travellers - not only huge and well appointed rooms - furnished in high quality art work and furnishings - but Lydia and Keith made us feel very welcomed and relaxed when so far from home. From MVSBB we walked to all the tourist attractions in the Mall of Washington DC. We also walked easily to Union Station (to pick up a hire car) and the entry to the interstate highway is literally around the corner to get out of the city. Lydia's breakfasts are a joy in themselves (Keith has been a willing test pilot for her morning surprises for many years). The sounds of the city are just outside your window...

The hosts were great- so accommodating and helpful. They were great cooks, and willing to make special trips to the grocery store to buy specialty items. We were usually so full after breakfast that we skipped lunch and had an early dinner instead. The inside of the house was beautiful, and our room was nice and tucked away. We had our own bathroom even though there were other guests, and there was a microwave/fridge in the room, as well as a nice TV. The neighborhood was okay- we were concerned initially, and heard a number of police sirens (turns out the station is nearby). We were comfortable after the first day or tow. The house is only a few minutes walk from the metro station, and is about a 20 min. walk or short metro trip to the Smithsonians/white house, etc. It's near a Safeway to stock up on snacks, and there's a good bar/restaurant within walking distance (Busyboys & Poets).

This is a very large, comfortable house in a very convenient neighborhood. Close to the metro and walking distance to lots of restaurants. Lydia & Keith were incredibly warm and welcoming hosts. Our room & bathroom were very large and very comfortable. And breakfast both days was delicious! It was a great stay!

This gorgeous home is beautifully decorated in fabrics and furnishings that complement the rich woods. Breakfast was a homemade delight, and the hosts are perfect!

We went to DC to see the sites. We enjoyed our stay at Mvbb, Keith and Lydai are very pleasant, and friendly. Our room was very nice and each morning we woke up to a wonderful breakfast, we ate something different each day and the meals were GREAT! They told us about the local cultural neighborhoods and different things we might enjoy seeing/doing while we were there. There is so much going on in DC, it is impossible to see in just a couple of days, we will have to return someday and we will definately be staying at mvbb! Thanks for a great weekend!

We chose this place based on its location close to chinatown. The home itself is absolutely beautiful and is great to wander around if there aren't a lot of other people staying the night you are there. Innkeepers are extremely friendly and still somewhat new to the whole B&B thing, but they will exceed your expectations. We were told that they did some work to get our room up to snuff earlier in the day that we arrived. Room was great, breakfast was fantastic, and we didn't really have a bad thing to say about our experience!

FROM MVSBB’s FIRST (and ongoing) GUEST: Keith and Lydia are delightful people and great innkeepers. An historic home, relaxing atmosphere, elegant rooms, full amenities, great price and the most considerate hosts in DC (which I don’t say lightly - I'm PICKY;-) There are gorgeous furnishings and fabrics, incredible showers with full-length wall spouts, several whirlpool tubs, big-screen TV’s, stained glass, warm woodwork, wrought iron stairway railings, beautifully appointed rooms with refrigerators, microwaves, irons / boards, padded and unpadded hangars – all the amenities. They listen, love to visit if you like or leave you alone if you like, feed you great breakfasts, and make you feel at home. I'm the business traveler who called Keith & Lydia in November 2008. I saw their Craig's List advertisement for Inauguration rentals and brazenly asked to rent a room several months before that. Lydia was silent and then merrily said, "Oh, why not?" Since they only planned on renting space during the Inauguration, this was definitely a stretch! But we had such fun, laughing about it all. I consider Keith and Lydia my friends now – I’ve come to know them and they are gracious, lively, considerate people with exquisite taste and a beautiful home they love to share. We’ve giggled over lots of things, including my very cold shower that first morning -- they forgot the hot water tank on the 3rd floor was turned off! -- and since I've stayed in hundreds of B&Bs and Inns around the world, I had lots to say ;-) I return an average of once a month to DC on business, and each time they’ve added, changed or rearranged something. They’re always improving and doing fun things. As a tired business traveler, I look forward to staying here because I know I’m among friends. Location: fabulous. Rooms: elegant. My family and I stayed at Mt. Vernon Square B&B for a week in January of 2010, and I can't say enough about this hidden gem of a place. This period home has been lovingly restored and every room reflects great attention to detail. The guest rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated, and very comfortable. The location, just 3 blocks from the Convention Metro stop, was very convenient for sightseeing. Keith and Lydia are the most excellent of hosts and prepare the best breakfasts we have experienced in any other B&B or hotel. The quality (and quantity!) of the food was truly exceptional. Our stay at Mt. Vernon B&B exceeded our expectations in every way and we will happily return the next time we visit the DC area.

This place is amazing. It's a beautiful 19th c. mansion right in the Mount Vernon Square neighborhood. It's five minutes from Gallery Place Chinatown, 5 minutes from the American Art Museum, National Portrait Gallery, convention center and easy walking to Dupont Circle and the White House. A 10-minute walk down 7th street put me on the national mall and next to all the Smithsonian museums. Huge beautiful rooms, with a large and immaculate common area. 15-foot floor-to-ceiling mirrors in the halls and lots of amazing stained glass in the windows make staying there a real treat. Keith and Lydia are super -- great hosts and full of information about the area. Ideal for a weekend in the city. I've stayed 3 nights and will go back again.

The Mount Vernon Square Bed and Breakfast is a lovely and exquisite small inn that I was very fortunate to find during a recent business trip to Washington, D.C. I typically end up at one of the large downtown hotels when I have meetings in the city, but my last trip was full of loud street noises and too many kids running around the lobby. So, I decided to look for a less crowed and more peaceful place to stay, and I got exactly what I was looking for at this B&B. My room had beautiful room fixtures with a huge king size bed, big flat screen TV, and a ten jet shower in the bathroom. The home made breakfast was delicious and the most important thing is that I was easily able to walk to most of my meetings. This is absolutely one of the best and most convenient places I have ever stayed in Washington and I highly recommend it! Erica S., October, 2009

When I arrived in DC on a rainy evening, i was greeted by two of the sunniest and warmest people I've encountered, Lydia and Keith. They immediately welcomed me and made me feel at home. My room was stunning: gorgeously decorated, warm and comfortable. Lydia's breakfast was delicious and I ate every last bite. Keith even dropped me off at my meeting at the Smithsonian. And all of those pieces were woven together by the quality and beauty of the conversations I had with Lydia and Keith. I really can't wait to get back and see them again.

Usually, when travelling, I stay at the Hilton, Hyatt, or Mariott. But I decided to try something very new and different for myself. Thus, it was the MVS B&B. Wow, what a treat! The room was well appointed---fine furtniture----a great wide-screen TV (which is the first thing I check-out in a room). The room was spacious and extremely comfortable. The location to downtown was oh so convenient, which meant walking distance to the restaurants, museums, and nite-life! The atmosphere was exceptionally pleasant and the service good!! And the value and price beat my ususal hotel selections! I'd recommend this place, esp. if one enjoys the best in modern amenities blended within an historic D.C. architectural backdrop. Lydia and Keith's B&B location allowed me to indulge in DC's downtown hot spots--theatre, restaurants, movies, art galleries, museums--easily! I loved having a choice. Close to public transportation including the subway and bus. Plus, I was walking distance to the convention center which was a big plus. Although I was in town, their home was a quiet respite which I needed when there. Their warmth and friendliness are the final topping as to why I will return. Alicia

We enjoyed a memorable stay at the Mt. Vernon B&B. Lydia and Keith are warm, charming hosts and Lydia cooks a different, tasty breakfast every day. Our room was large and elegant, but cozy at the same time. The hosts provide little touches that make you feel truly welcome in their home. We hope we have a chance to get back there before too long.

Fantastic !! Quiet and excellent location that was easily accessible to all the major destinations in Washington. The rooms were large and elegant, and the stay was most enjoyable. Sure beats any hotel I've stayed at in Washington ... including the 4-Stars. I highly recommend this B&B. Charles Toole

Our friend knows the owner and suggested we try their bed and breakfast. The pictures on the website were beautiful so we decided to give it a try. Also, it was very close to the event we were attending. We had a great time. The place is gorgeous. Lydia, the owner is a great cook and just a wonderful person. Our room was so nice. It was large and the furnishing were beautiful. Oh, and the bathroom shower station was so unique and ajustable it was like being in a spa. We loved it.
