    My wife and I stayed at Casa Alfi in December 2007 for 10 days. Service was outstanding and staff was helpful in every way. Laundry service was not included but was provided at very reasonable rates. We had several well prepared lunches and dinners there, American and Tico. My wife was ill one of the days there and staff was very solicitous of her condition. Information regarding directions to locations was very good.

    I came to Costa rica for dental work and found Casa Alfi online and booked my 2 week stay.Boy was i lucky I found this place .Alfi the owner was fantastic as was his cook/house keeper Maria.They took great care of me while I was there.It is very casual and relaxed there and you are right in the heart of downtown but inside you wouldn't even know it.I will be staying there the next time I go to Costa Rica which is in October for the rest of my dental work.     You can’t see on the outside what a nice and cozy hotel is hidden behind it. There are many old details preserved that gives the hotel a cozy and homely atmosphere. It’s the kind of hotel where you feel at home. If I ever want to start my own hotel, it would be this type of hotel. The owner, Alfi, is a hospitable man who lived in many different countries, because of that he always has a good story to tell. And he knows how to make you a great curry. The hotel staff, Maria and Elliot are very friendly. Elliot can help you with finding tours and can give you good tips for things to do or see in Costa Rica. I’ll highly recommend Casa Alfi, if you looking for a nice and cozy hotel in the middle of the center of San Jose, without the noise of a city center.

    My husband and I loved staying at Casa Alfi's. They treated us extended family. Alfi is wonderful along with Elliot. It is also so close to all of the great places to see while in San Jose. Our room was very clean. The breakfast is so filling that we only needed to eat twice a day. You will fall in love with the owner and staff. Alfi is a wonderful artist and we enjoyed listening to his stories.

    We were worried about staying in downtown San Jose. This is a very warm and friendly place to stay. The staff feel more as if you are visiting family. They serve a wonderful large breakfast. It is very clean and only two blocks south from the Plaza Cultura. WONDERFUL value for the price!!!! We have stayed here for two weeks.
