Nature at its best! Over 4000 acres of tropical forest in the mountains, at the foot of Central America’s highest mountain, Mt. Chirripó, and the Chirripó National Park, Costa Rica.
We feature comfortable, modern American-style cabins.
Eat at our fine restaurant and visit the Talamanca bar, both open every day until 11:00 PM.
In the evening, sit around the fireplace and practice the friendly art of conversation. We speak broken: Spanish, English, German, and French; if it ain’t broken, we don’t speak it!
By the way, evenings are cool here in the mountains; bring a sweater. Your visit to the cloud forest may surprise you, for the altitude determines the temperature. The Talamanca Reserve is approximately 2,500 feet above sea level.

We are located in San Gerardo de Rivas, Perez Zeledon, which is approximately 17 Kilometers from San Isidro de El General, PZ, which is approx. 135 Kil. south of the capital, San Jose. From the airport, you head south on the Inter Amer. Highway. In San Isidro, ask for direction to the Chirripo Nat'l Park, San Gerardo is at the foot of the Chirripo Nat'l Park. We are one Kil. east of the Catholic church in San Gerardo. - Nearest major airport: San Jose, Costa Rica (SJO-Juan Santamaria Intl.) 80 miles

San Jose, Costa Rica - Juan Santamaria International Airport: From the airport, you head south on the Inter American Highway. Car rentals are plentiful in San Jose, or you can take a bus from San Jose. The Musoc or Tracopa Bus lines are both available daily from San Jose to San Isidro. Taxis from San Isidro to San Gerardo are approximateley $15.00.
