If you're looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of your crazy life and enjoy serenity and fresh air, this is THE place. Set up on the hills of Torrington, the Inn at Mt. Pleasant is a beautiful retreat on Mt. Pleasant farm. The innkeeper Bob, with help from Maggie, did a wonderful job renovating and decorating the farmhouse. Nice rooms with modern bathrooms- comfortable, clean and air conditioned with flat screen TVs- but who needs the TV. The best view is in the kitchen and common area where you look out onto open fields. Bob and Maggie can provide suggestions for local attractions and places to eat and are well versed in local history. Bob makes you feel like his friend right away- his kitchen is your kitchen- so feel free to make your own breakfast or have him whip up something for you- but don't forget to try his potatoes. Plenty of property to hike and explore. We went into town for some antiquing and to take in the fall foliage. Next time we plan on staying longer to really relax, with some steaks on the BBQ and some wine by the firepit. You won't be disappointed- we already made our next reservations!

A lovely, relaxing setting with expansive views in all directions. The property is gorgeous and we really enjoyed exploring the meadows, the woods and the antique barn. The rooms are decorated in a refreshing style and are very comfortable with plenty of room! We felt very welcome and we loved sitting by the campfire at night! Outstanding!

We've never stayed at a bed and breakfast before, and were a little nervous about not having privacy. But... we were so pleasantly surprised. The rooms beautifully decorated, each with a private bath, and they are kept very clean (which is a MUST for me!!!). I gave this a five star rating for dining because I don't want anything less to detract from the experience. Breakfast is continental but you can probably convince Bob (the innkeeper) to cook you a real breakfast if you're nice (he did for us)! There are a lot of restaurants in the area so it was easy to find food, but next time we picking up filets and cooking out on the grill! As far as activities, we golfed one day at a nearby golf course and went to a local theater show that night. The next day we hiked all over the trails around the property. We had a wonderful early dinner in nearby Litchfield, and then came back to relax outside by the fire and have a glass of wine. The innkeepers were great - very attentive if we needed anything but never in the way - they made us feel right at home. I would recommend this as a great weekend getaway during any season - ski resorts are nearby during winter, beautiful foliage in fall, and tons to do in the summer. We plan to return next month and are bringing friends with us this time!

I stayed at the Inn for 2 nights and was very pleased. Each of the rooms has it's own bathroom and my dog was very welcome there. The breakfast was continental but there are many places to eat in Torrington. The renovations to the house were very nicely done...the house was very cozy. The property is gorgeous and my dog enjoyed running all over the place.
