"If you have two pennies, with the first buy bread, with the second buy hyacinths for your soul." Another Second Penny Inn, our 1710 colonial home, offers three large guestrooms, private jetted baths, fireplaces, gardens and quiet country setting near the heart of Mystic. Within three miles of downtown Mystic, historic Stonington Borough, the Aquarium, and the Seaport our home sits on 4 1/2 acres of gardens, fields and forest. Excellent opportunities abound for quiet, romantic walks or secluded hideaways for reading. Relax in the ambiance of a home that has for three centuries provided shelter and respite. Our resident critters include Kelly (dog), Hobo (cat), a bunch of chickens and two horses, Tommy Dorsey and Inspector Morse. Our guestrooms are beautifully appointed including such amenities as fluffy bathrobes, hair dryers, custom toiletries, individual refrigerators, and irons and ironing boards. Breakfast is an event not to be missed! Our menu uses seasonal ingredients and highlights New England recipes. Sandra bakes "from scratch" coffee cakes, muffins, scones and bread. Jim creates a fruit course of vanilla poached pears, fresh berry compote or cider-sauteed apples with yoghurt among other possibilities. Hot and cold cereals are always offered as well as entrees such as scrambled crab, apple stuffed pancakes, the famous “Egg Thingie”. Homemade sorbets finish off your meal! Our AAA recommended, 3 diamond property, has provided shelter and respite for three centuries. Welcome!

This is a very charming and comfortable bed and breakfast. My wife and I enjoyed our time there very much. We loved the old house, the breakfasts, and the animals. Our room was very nice, and the four poster bed was very comfortable with a good mattress. Jim and Sandra were the best of hosts. We are looking forward to returning some day.

The host was very polite and friendly. Our spacious room and bathroom was very clean and warm thanks to the gas-fired fireplace. The hosts also catered to my egg allergy by identifying which breakfast items were safe to eat, which I greatly appreciated.

My wife and I first learned of the Second Penny while planning a visit to my daughter's house in Groton CT. Instead of staying in a routine motel room, i suggested she investigate the local Bed andBreakfast options. She gave us a couple of suggestions and we selectedAnother Second Penny Inn. We were very pleased with everything offered and the mystic of staying in a home built circa 1710. The only drawback to the stay was the absence of a downstairs sitting room like other Bedand Breakfast locations have offered. Overall,we would stay here again.

Our Stay at Another Second Penney Inn was wonderful. The establishment was as charming as could be, and the friendly animals were an additional plus. The location was perfectly placed within minutes driving distance to Mystic and Stonington, yet set off enough on a wooded road to feel as if it was miles away from anything nearby. This was a very pleasant experience that I would recommend to anyone to anyone looking for a cozy place to stay.

We absolutely loved staying in this inn. Built in 1710, the owners have cared for this old beauty yet having modern bath facilities & amenities for their guests. Interesting history of this home/tavern. Be sure to check out the bartender's "cupboard & the "ballroom" upstairs with once-movable wall. Breakfasts are amazing served in the lovely dining room. During evening cookies & coffee or tea, be sure to sit in the parlor/library. Great rescue dog, Kelly, will help take care of leftover breakfast meats. Do yourself a favor, stay here.
