From its creaky wooden floors and venerable ancestor paintings to its traditional New England hospitality and antique canopy beds, the Silvermine Tavern is everything a country inn should be: warm, friendly, inviting and brimming with charm. You can’t build a country inn with character like ours. You have to give it time. And time – 200 history-making years of it – is what has made the Silvermine Tavern a place so special you won’t want to leave. Nestled by the waterfall of a tranquil mill pond, the Tavern serves its guests on of the most soothing and serene views in Connecticut. The peacful suburban location is only minutes from the fine dining and attractions of South Norwalk, New Canaan and Wilton.

The river behind was great to walk by and see the beautiful homes nearby. If you like feeling history, this is the place to stay. The innkeeper knows much history about the area as well.

My daughter was moving to Norwalk CT. for her first job after college and I wanted to stay someplace special that had all the charm of new England rolled all up into one place. She loves those kinds of places rich in history so I didn't tell her where we were staying. What a beautiful setting nestled away down a New England road in the gently rolling hills on the old miner’s creek with all its dams and ponds. Such a surprise for her when we got there after driving 6 hours, quiet, charming full of history. Spent much of the next day relaxing and taking pictures. First time there but won't be the last, loved it!!! Paul and Diana (Roch. NY)
