I have stayed at the Brigadoon more than twenty nights during the last year while on business in the Mystic area. The innkeepers made me feel very comfortable and safe, especially as I was often traveling alone. The rooms are comfortable with great common areas; internet access along with quaint interiors and old-fashioned service. They serve a delicious, complete breakfast, afternoon tea and evening dessert. The hospitality is exceptional.

The Inn Keeper was just lovely and extremely accomodating. I really enjoyed her extra effort to offer home-made brownies and wine in the evening. We never made it to breakfast as we decided to sleep in. Which was a real treat too. In my opinion, the room could use a bit of updating (Carpet) but we still enjoyed the atmosphere and hospitality. I think it's probably one of the nicest places to stay in Mystic and would recommend.

Some high points: The Inn is a lovely and interesting restored victorian, the exposed beams in the dining room and hardwood floors are outdone only by the living room with its huge hearth and the lovely antiques everywhere. The Breakfast: a fresh and delightful fruit salad made minutes before was followed by fresh squeezed orange juice, coffee, a muffin and then a plate of eggs over easy, bacon and whole grain toast whose taste and presentation were indicative of a finer restaurant. This was served in the aforementioned dining room with a lovely and tranquil view.(its worth mentioning the breakfast was my choice from several offered, but I am convinced Ted would be equally adept at any of his offerings.)There is tea in the afternoon and wine in the evening served but I cannot say more as I missed both, presumably though, they are as delightful as all the other amenities. Helpful: maybe THIS is what separates a B&B from a hotel the most for me. Both Innkeepers were helpful beyond the level of the better hotels Ive stayed in. They helped me find the attractions, restaurants, and much more, all with the reccomendations and caveats you wish you could get from someone who was a local!. The room- I did not book one of the upperscale rooms but mine was CLEAN, very comfortable, and convenient, not to mention charming n a way hotels never are. I got a peek at some of the other rooms and suffice to say, they do not want for luxury or visual appeal. The private bath was well appointed and clean. They also offer a very fast WiFi, if you need to keep in touch with the office. The TV was not a massive flat screen but if you want a giant TV in Mystic, youve missed the point of being there. Cable is also included and free but again, cable in Mystic??? In short, a lovely place I plan to return to and will surely bring my SO!
