My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary last year. Overall it was a nice house with lots of charm. The architecture is true to the time period in which the house was built. So the rooms are not huge, and our bathroom was pretty tiny.... read more

Of our eight rooms, three that are in the original 1868 part of the house are, indeed, small with small bathrooms. Two other rooms in the older part of the house are larger, with small sitting areas and larger baths. However, our three suites in the 1998 addition to the house are very large with spacious sitting areas, and two of them have two-person jacuzzi tubs. So we do have "large spacious rooms with modern amenities"; these guests obviously stayed in one of our smallest and most inexpensive rooms and based their review on that stay without considering our other offerings. While we appreciate their positive review of their stay in our home and of our hospitality, we just wanted to set the record straight on the extent of our room offerings.

The Clear Creek Room: This first-floor room overlooks the inn's garden and the lovely foothills view to the north. Western decor immerses you in the Rocky Mountain experience. The comfortable queen bed has a brass headboard. Private bath features a shower. There is a desk, high-speed wireless internet, and phone with private voice mail, Cable TV w/DVD Player. Full cooked breakfast.The Columbine Room: features a queen bed and handmade Victorian-style quilt. The large window offers a view of Castle Rock. The Gold Queen Suite: The suite features this beautiful two-person whirlpool tub faced in tumbled marble. The queen bed has a brass headboard and pillow-top mattress. An electric fireplace is visible from the bedroom and the sitting area where a loveseat invites you to relax or work in comfort. The loveseat converts to a twin bed, so the suite can accommodate up to three people ($25 additional charge per person per night over two people). The private bath has a shower. Phone with private voice mail and high-speed wireless internet access. Cable HDTV w/DVD player.The Shakespeare Room: A lodger's room built onto the house in 1928, the Shakespeare room has a private outside entrance.
