About

The Holiday Chalet is a beautifully restored 19th century mansion near the heart of downtown Denver, and has offered warmth and comfort to travelers for over 51 years. We hope you will enjoy your stay and come again! Comfort is the key word at the Holiday Chalet. Service and convenience are gracefully maintained without intruding on the grace and charm of the past. Vaulted ceilings in many of the rooms, some with working fireplaces hardwood floors throughout the beautiful Victorian home. The 10 air-conditioned guest rooms are full mini-suites. Each room has an equipped and operational kitchen, as well as a private bath with classic toiletries. Two of the "king-size" suites offer sunrooms and one has a fireplace. All the rooms will accommodate families. Guests are encouraged to bring their favorite pet. We offer dog crates; treats; and dog setting, which includes a daily 1.5 mile walk. Fresh flowers (upon request) and telephones are in-room additions. For the business traveler, we offer free wireless internet, fax machines and photocopying services are available. Also, we have flatscreen TV's with built in DVD's and a library of videos. In the morning, enjoy a full breakfast of assorted cereals, fruits, homemade bread, quiches, cowboy pancakes, french toast; eggs and bacon; juice and coffee! After breakfast, call Gray Line bus tours or for private transportation to anywhere in Colorado. As an added bonus, each guest is provided (upon request) with Crystal's "What to do in Denver guide".

Had a great time and so did our puppy!

4.8 on January 28, 2015

The staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable for us and our dog! Apon arrival we were offered freshly made lemon bars, treats and food bowls for our dog and valet parking! Once we were shown to our room they let us know that they also offer doggie sitting if we wanted to go out during our stay. The next day they made my husband a delicious banana nut bread French toast for breakfast and watched our dog while we went out to explore Denver! When we returned they told us they had take him to the dog park and gave him lots of water and love! I was more than happy! They again watched him and walked him that night when we went to dinner. They were super kind and seemed happy to do it, even though our dog can be a lot to handle ( he's a 1 year old Great Dane!) On our last day before we checked out they made us some amazing quiche. I was more than empressed with how sweet the staff was and we will for sure stay there again when we visit in the future!

Haven in the Storm

Holiday Chalet is in the top two most authentic B and B's I have been too, it really transported my wife and I back, to a simpler time, the hum of the city in the back ground was a welcomed fog in the safety of our room. The owner and care taker who was very kind, made breakfast to order from a predetermined menu, which was delicious. We brought our dogs which were welcomed with open arms. The dog sitting service brought peace of mind while we were attending the theater.

Great value

The Holiday Chalet is a wonderful place to stay. Our hostess, Crystal, was warm, friendly and helpful. The building itself is charming. The boutique was a nice bonus. I will be staying there again! Lenore and Dick

Nice place, Unfortunate location

3.6 on August 31, 2014

Is a nice place to stay and is close to Elitches and 16th Street Mall (which is why I booked it). Is a good value, has comfortable rooms and it is very convenient that the rooms have private kitchens as well. Breakfast was very good! The only true negative thing I have to say about it is its location. The Holiday Chalet is on Colfax, which for those of you who don't know, has about 200 homeless people on it and is close to a very sketch-y neighborhood, if you're going to be in a group of two or more when you're out and about it's not bad. I would NOT recommend going out by yourself, especially if you are a young woman.

Innkeeper Response
Thank you so much for taking the time to post a review. All comments are appreciated. We are in a an ecclectic very cool neighborhood. Some of the best things in Denver are located on Colfax including, The Ogden Theatre, The Fillmore Theater, The Tattered Cover, The State Capital, Syvia's Restaurant, Irish Snug to name just a few. Colfax is one of Denver's Oldest streets in Denver and there for has a abundant population including homeless. Denver does have a high homless population. We as a city work daily to not only help the homeless but to try to discourage begging. I do hope you have a wonderful day and that we might see you agai in the near future. Sincerely, Crystal

Definitely coming back!

4.6 on August 25, 2013

My girlfriend and I had an amazing stay here. We were desperate for a place because our plans had fallen through, there was a conference in the neighborhood, and when we arrived we had no where to go. The staff was more than accommodating when they heard of our predicament and gave us a cute little room in the staff's quarters. The house has a lot of quirky charm; it is definitely a nice break from all the super-new developments and construction happening in the area. I was not sketched out by the neighborhood as other reviewers have said, it is close to everything downtown, has a lovely outdoor area and the breakfast was delicious and prepared with a lot of love. I will definitely be coming back to this little gem.

Innkeeper Response
And we loved having you!!!!!

Comfortable B&B

4.4 on June 28, 2013

I got to Denver in the morning, long before Check-In time at the Holiday Chalet, but the hostess was gracious to let me in while they prepared my room early. I chose the Holiday Chalet because it was close enough (2 miles) to walk to my convention downtown, and allowed me to see a lot of the City. Yes, the neighborhood is maybe not the greatest, but the staff and accommodations were superb!
