Capitol Hill Mansion Bed and Breakfast Inn

While visiting family in Denver for the holidays my husband and I had the opportunity to stay at CHM on Christmas Eve. It was a lovely experience complete with a huge beautifully decorated Christmas tree and the owner's festive guord collection. Carl/owner and daughter Bailey were the perfect hosts. Christmas breakfast was excellent complete with individually wrapped fresh banana bread. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend the B&B.

We stayed in the Bluebell room in March. This review is quite difficult to write because I have a very mixed impression of the Inn. Each good aspect seemed to be tinged with something that was less than enjoyable. The inn is spectacular looking and is situated in a neighborhood where one large home is more lovely than the next yet walking the neighborhood one can’t help notice the large quantity of vagrants which makes you feel less than secure though, to be clear, nothing bad happened to us. Our unease may have only been because we were visitors and, therefore, unused to the area. The interior of the home was so interesting with its original woodwork and tasteful furniture. Unlike many B&B’s which only seem to exist as an excuse for the owner to write-off his antique collection this home was not stuffed to the gills with tchotchkes. Every piece seemed placed for comfort or enjoyment and fit well with the décor and time period of the house. That said; I do not recommend the Bluebell room. It is situated at the back of the house and has to be accessed via the kitchen which means you will be awoken to the sounds of breakfast is being prepared. The owner did a fantastic job of providing fragrance free towels and sheets yet the mattress in the room was completely worn out. The room was quite cold when we arrived though the owner quickly rectified that. Added bonuses in the very large Bluebell room were the lovely private porch and small kitchenette area. The breakfast was large and tasty though a bit on the simple side (which is not always a bad thing). The owner was kind enough to call us a cab to take us to the airport so we did not have to worry about leaving too early or late. Overall I would stay at the Inn in the future though not in the same room.

If you want to stay in a wonderful late 1800's mansion home that has the best breakfast in town, then the Capitol Hill Mansion is the place to stay. Wonderful accommodation and a fabulous breakfast. Semi dried Souffle for breakfast with brioche...yum! This accommodation is very close to Denver CBD and a great point to start from when getting around. Local eateries also excellent. Forget me Knot Room was great for a quick overnight. If you were staying extra days would suggest a slightly bigger room. Thank you Carl & Bailey. We stayed at Capitol Hill Mansion Bed & Breakfast Inn in late October this year. The mansion is beautiful and our room was lovely and very clean. Breakfast was fantastic--baked french toast that was very yummy and rich. I was glad there was off-street parking--I don't know how we would have found a spot! I highly recommend this inn.

We completely enjoyed this Bed and Breakfast. From complimentary afternoon wine to 3 gourmet breakfasts. Highly recommend. Right down the street from Molly Brown Mansion.

The breakfasts were amazing with fresh fruit and tasty foods. We stayed in the Snowlover room with the balcony. It was great sitting on the balcony and just relaxing. There is some street/neighborhood noise but definitely worth the stay. The B&B is beautiful and we were able to walk into the center of town with ease.

What a beautiful home! The smells from the kitchen were wonderful! Wish we'd opted for dinner! The breakfast of strawberry cheesecake pancakes was amazing! Enjoyed talking with our hosts & we slept well! Thank you! We will return!

We stayed at The Capitol Hill Mansion for 8 days & our experience was good. The breakfast was served fresh & outstanding! The chef Eric cooked our food, & he was very friendly & made us feel very welcome. We had something different every morning for breakfast. Carl was very nice & made sure we were very comfortable for our stay. Thanks for your service & we will return!!

The Capital Hill Mansion provides a very special place to retreat from the hustle and stress of every day life, with provision for food onsite and great shopping and entertainment opportunities close by.

Arrived jetlagged, able to sink into a beautiful bed and wake up to lovely breakfast, with exceptional host. Very relaxing, very pleasant area to sit and talk to other guests as well as enjoy sightseeing area and downtown.

The Capital Hill B & B far exceeded our expectations. Carl, the owner and chef, and his lovely daughter Bailey are the ultimate Innkeepers. They were attentive and thoughtful - and really made us feel at home. The entire place is tastefully decorated and the breakfasts are out of this world. We really enjoyed staying here and highly recommend it, if visiting Denver.

We stayed there on our honeymoon before we left for our cruise and It was wonderful Carl was very accomidating and our room was fantastic We are hoping to visit them for Vday in a couple weeks

The gourmet breakfasts were outstanding. Carl makes homemade crescent rolls - so good. He also made a chocolate cake with gnash icing. The rooms were big and beautiful. I hope to return for another stay there - very soon. Carl and Bailey were very helpful in recommending places to eat and see.

Somewhat new to the B&B experience we were so completely thrilled that I wonder at our luck! The house itself is lovely, beautifully and comfortably furnished, quiet (we had the Paintbrush room – right downstairs), and close enough to everything we wanted to see that we walked "to town" several times a day. Eric (delicious breakfasts!), Carl and Bailey were both gracious and entertaining throughout our stay. I can't recommend it enough!
