Smith Fork Ranch
In the Smith Fork River Valley a few miles from the north rim of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison on Colorado’s western slope of the Rocky Mountains lies an intimate retreat—Smith Fork Ranch. Snuggled in this green valley surrounded by some million acres of the Gunnison National Forest and by 11-13,000 foot peaks of the West Elks. The ranch offers spectacular hiking, trail riding and fly fishing in the backcountry and on the property. Colorado Trout, Rainbows, Brook Trout and Cutthroat are abundant in the private waters of the ranch (nearly 3 miles of the Smith Fork of the Gunnison River. Second Creek and 7 ponds as well as in streams, lakes and ponds in the adjacent wilderness.

- Directions to property:
Hwy 92 will take you right into downtown Crawford.
Once in downtown Crawford, turn onto Dogwood Ave. from Hwy 92. It is located in between the church and post office (across from the Mad Dog Café).
Continue out of town on Dogwood. You will go about 2.3 miles and Needle Rock Road will intersect on the right. The is a street sign as well as several other signs including a green Smith Fork Ranch sign with an arrow going right. The road becomes dirt at that point.
Continue on Needle Rock Road. Do not make any turns off of Needle Rock Road. It will take you to the ranch. You will come to a cattle guard and at that point, you have entered ranch property. There is a Smith Fork Ranch sign at the cattle guard. The ranch buildings are located about one mile from the cattle guard. When you approach the ranch, please park in the guest parking area. We will come out to greet you when you arrive. - Nearest major airport: Grand Junction, CO (GJT-Walker Field)

Directions to Smith Fork Ranch from Grand Junction Airport (Walker Field):
Take Horizon Drive out of the airport (right turn). Get onto I-70 Eastbound (left turn in front of the Taco Bell).
Continue on I-70 to the Clifton Exit. Exit right and then get in the left lane. At the second stoplight (by Wendy’s), turn left. Continue on this road as it will take you out of town towards Hwy 50. This road dead ends into Hwy. 50. Turn left and follow the signs towards Delta.
Hwy 50 will bring you right into the town of Delta. At the first stop light, turn left onto Hwy 92 (follow signs towards Hotchkiss and Crawford). Continue on Hwy 92 into the town of Hotchkiss (about 20 miles from Delta). The Highway will split in front of City Market. Keep right and stay on Hwy 92 (follow the signs). Continue on Hwy 92 to the town of Crawford (about 9 miles).
As you come into the main part of town, turn left between the Methodist Church and Post Office (Dogwood). Continue on Dogwood and it will take you out of town. Go about 3 miles and E-50 Drive will intersect the road. Turn right onto E-50. There are several signs at the intersection including a large green Smith Fork Ranch sign with an arrow pointing to the right. The road becomes a dirt road at that point. Continue on this road about 3 ½ miles. You will cross a cattle guard and see a Smith Fork Ranch sign on the left as you enter ranch property. Continue about one mile and you will come to the ranch.

- Deposit amount required (50% at time of reservation if made 60 days before arrival. Reservations booked less than 60 days before arrival, 75% deposit is required for confirmation.)

- Cancellations:
Due to our intimate size and remote location, cancellations can affect us significantly. Consequently, we adhere to a strict policy. We will gladly return your funds, less 20% of the total cost of the reservation, is a cancellation is made in writing 60 or more days prior to arrival.
