Hughes Hacienda

Carol & Wayne's beautiful property was just as we'd remembered it -- handsomely appointed and perfectly nestled within its southwestern backdrop of red stone foothills and abundant wildlife. Carol & Wayne were as we remembered too -- gracious hosts & excellent chefs. We will continue to return.

I stayed at this superbly warm bed and breakfast by myself while I was on business and it was certainly was a very pleasant experience. The owners are welcoming and kind and the service they provide is attentive. The views are breathtaking, the house is thoughtful detailed, and the whole experience is relaxing and refreshing.

We loved the quiet, out of the hustle and bustle location of this B&B. Our rooms had a private deck and view, breakfast was yummy and served with a flair, and we hiked their own hiking trail in the oak hillsides.

We found an island of paradise, so tranquil and relaxing. The hosts epitomise the essence of an American welcome, caring, attentive and their breakfasts are outstanding. The complete ideal.

The hacienda with its courtyards and fountains transplanted us to Mexico. The views of the red rocks and forests were quintessential Colorado. Our hosts were gracious and witty. The breakfast on the patio was delicious. The mood music, flora, and fauna were priceless.

The inn was a foretaste of heaven: a sanctuary of gorgeous views, delicious gourmet breakfasts, and wonderful hospitality. The hummingbirds were a treat to watch against the breath-taking mountain backdrop. A++ Would stay here again and again!

Their B&B decorated southwest style tucked away in a beautiful canyon is a must to stay if in Colorado Springs.

One is compelled by the inspirational mountain views to absorb all that nature has to offer. Mornings filled with tea, bird watching, instrumental music, and delicious breakfasts. Time can be spent hiking. Lazy afternoons can be spent comfortably reading or relaxing in the easy chairs of the Hacienda suite. Had a wonderful time. Plan to come back soon!

Although Hughes Hacienda is not a long journey for us, we feel a world away from the stress and worries of daily life. As we both work in the prison system, the comfort and special efforts made by Wayne and Carol are much appreciated. I have celiac disease and therefore rarely enjoy eating meals away from home. Wayne has deliciously accommodated my dietary restrictions, and it is such a special treat to not worry about the possibility of cross contamination or a chef "not getting it". Hughes Hacienda is located in a beautiful, peaceful part of Colorado. The Hacienda Suite lulls you into relaxation and peace. We have our sixth visit scheduled soon and cannot hardly wait to get there. It truly feels like going back to see wonderful friends where you always feel welcome and are made to feel very special. I would highly recommend this bed and breakfast!

6 nights at Carol & Wayne's beautiful property proved to be the perfect place for a relaxing end to our 3 1/2 week USA trip in Sept 2008. They were warm and friendly hosts, and recommended us an excellent variety of restaurants in the area. If we return to the Colorado Springs area, we will stay at Hughes Hacienda. Very relaxing and beautiful scenery, a great experience!

Courteous, friendly, and funny couple (the Hughes) and the most comfortable surroundings. Great bed, views, patio and veranda were the best I've been to at a B&B.

We thought that we were spoiled from staying at the Castle Inn in Wichita, KS. However there is quite a difference from incredible architecture and total and complete peace and tranquility. Wayne and Carol's attention to detail is impecable. The mountain views and landscaping results in total serenity and the gourmet breakfasts (different every day) were a taste treat. I'm sorry that I am out of room or I would continue...

We came to Hughes Hacienda for relaxation and to take in the beauty of Colorado. This is the perfect place to do both. The hosts are like coming home to good friends, the grounds are spectacular, the food is a culinary delight, and there can't be a better view at another local B&B. Perfect!

If you are looking for the perfect B&B in the Springs, this is it. We visited for two nights and had the most amazing time. From the breakfast to the old western feel, this is the best B&B in Colorado! Enjoy!
