We were told we would be staying in a small room with bunk beds. They left out that it would not include top sheets! Who does that? We had to sleep under an old and somewhat smelly comforter with no top sheet. It was not enough to keep us warm and they would not turn the heat on until morning. Also, if you wanted to dry your hands in the bathroom you had to carry your bathtowel to the bathroom or use a community bathtowel. Gross.
Clearly we failed who ever wrote this revue for which we apologize. If they had raised these issues whilst they were staying with us we might have been able to at least meet some of their needs. To answer the specific pints: No top sheets. And a small bunkroom. Yes it is a small bunkroom and each bed is provided with a continental style hollow fill duvet that has a zip or button cover, which is changed every three days, and between guests. If a guest requests a “top sheet” we are more than happy to provide. The room is cleaned daily. Towels. Each dorm guest is provided with a towel, which is exchanged on request or every three days. There was a hand towel in each of the bathrooms that again is changed daily. It is true that other guests can dry their hands on these towels. Heating. August has been a cold month. The Inn is zoned and we run 4 separate heating patterns. Early morning, day, evening and then cool during the night. If the guests had stated they were cold we would have adjusted the heat. We do all we can to ensure that our guests have a pleasant stay. As stated before we clearly failed these guests although if they had mentioned it during their stay we would have done our best to meet their requests.

Niki is a thoughtful and passionate innkeeper. This lovely well appointed home a few blocks from downtown Breckinridge is a gem. The Sweatheart room was small for us so next time, and there will be a next time, we'll choose a larger one. Breakfast was very good. Niki recommended a fabulous place for dinner - Hearthstone. Save up your cans and bottles for a first class dining experience when you visit.

My husband and I stayed there off season. We thought it was very so-so. The problem was that the owner and wife were not as friendly as we are accustomed to. The breakfast was average. The living room was a nice place to hand out, and they had a really nice hot tub to soak in, which we appreciated. There were videos one could view. However, the room was extremely tiny, and my husband kept bumping his head going into the room. it was truly the smallest room we had ever been in, in a B & B. Also, we were the only guests, and it wouldn't have been a major inconvenience for the owners to have upgraded us to a larger room.

Our bed was comfortable, the breakfast was delicious and filling. Close to everything in town-walking distance, free parking is a plus! Wireless internet is a great benefit, too. Loved it!

We stayed for 2 nights in Aug. It was very pleasant. I wish that the check-out time had been noon rather than 10:00 am. There was no dining there.

I stayed here with a girlfriend a couple years ago, as a place to hang out and wait for my husband who would be cycling in from Ride the Rockies. The price was so reasonable for what the B&B (we shared a suite and had a private entrance to the hottub) had to offer that I was most pleasantly surprised. Perfect location to town. Great views! Sadly, my friend died suddenly the next summer, so I am so happy we had this time together at Fireside. Candy Halliburton
