A guest knows they’re in for something unique the moment their footstep echoes off the lobby’s hardwood floor. For some it may be the hand stitched leather chairs, the glass work or the custom forged wood burning stove. For others it may be the biographies and pictures hanging on the walls, documenting some of the Hotel’s most exciting guests (such as Teddy Roosevelt). And for many more it will be the world-renowned trophies of non-typical elk and mule deer The Meeker Hotel opened in 1886 in an old Army barracks. By 1896 it was time for a new building so the center portion of the hotel was erected. The structure standing today was finished in 1904. We are very proud that the Meeker Hotel has been in operation for over 120 years and look forward to the opportunity to share some of the western hospitality that has been a specialty for so long. So if you are interested in becoming better acquainted with an off-the- beaten path, piece of history than please take the time to look our site over--- or stop by for a visit! We have a variety of custom rooms and an excellent restaurant open all day long. We look forward to sharing this wonderful building and its stories with you.

Meeker Hotel stay - two thumbs up!

    October 10, 2012

We had flight delays and were coming in from Denver. We didn't make it to the hotel till 11:30 PM. Blake was kind enough to stay past his 10:00 PM end time to get us checked in. After a long drive, it was MUCH appreciated! He also didn't make us feel bad for making him wait. Loved the ambience of the whole place and food was great!

    Historic Treasure!

    August 12, 2012

Discovering this hotel was like finding a gold nugget! If you have grown weary of cookie-cutter motels and enjoy venturing back into a more colorful, slightly wilder past, this hotel is for you. The lobby contains an awe-inspiring collection of mega-fauna taxidermy. (My favorite: a face-off between two porcupines.) Also many photos and documents of historic interest. The reception staff was gracious and helpful. Our room was tastefully painted and decorated. The bathroom was beautifully redone. Everything was spotless. I'm sure the wide-plank floors are original and somewhat creaky, but fun and atmospheric. My whole family would happily come here again. We enjoyed the town of Meeker too. Our stay was like being transported back to a kinder, simpler, quieter past. Thank you!

A historic place to stay with decent but not extravagant accomodations

    August 02, 2012

We enjoyed our stay at the Meeker Hotel. The historic hotel is full of charm (and taxidermy!) reminiscent of the age of Teddy Roosevelt, who the hotel is very proud to tell you once stayed there. The rooms were clean and adequately furnished. The front desk staff were friendly and very helpful when we made requests (like for a hair dryer for the room and coffee supplies for the coffee maker in the lounge).

    Wonderful ambiance

    August 01, 2012

Thank you SO Much for all of the effort that your staff expended in finding my daughters jade talisman. It was not an economically valuable piece, but it meant a lot to her and her husband. Thanks again for an enjoyable stay. JM

    Meeker Hotel 2012

    July 31, 2012

Nancy greeted me and even escorted me to the Gary Cooper Suite. The room was very clean and even though the room was not air conditioned the fan provided good circulation and pleasant sleeping conditions. The dining staff provided free coffee and $3 off breakfast. Overall, our 2 night's stay was a good value. We enjoyed the creaky floors and the historic atmosphere.
