    We are a small home-style bed and breakfast for group travellers, with 5 uniquely decorated and themed rooms, with an all local staff, so you can expect to receive attentive, friendly service with local knowledge. We have recently renovated and redecorated, have a modern look mixed with old-style furniture, and a friendly atmosphere.

    The essential idea for Denotel is to be a Bed & Breakfast with a difference; we want to make Denotel a home more than a hotel, more social rather than just business, comfortable and friendly instead of simply practical and functional. With a large friendly open meeting area, Denotel is specifically designed to have a warm and social environment for group travellers, while maintaining a comfortable atmosphere for families and singles as well. We hope that residents feel that this is a different sort of place than the average B&B or inn.

      Denotel is centrally located – just a few minutes walk from Jing'an Temple, in the centre of Shanghai. We are also only a few minutes walk to the metro (Line 2,7) and the local bus station and connecting airport line 2 bus service terminal. West Nanjing Road is only one stop away on the Line 2 metro line (also in walking distance), a vast high-end shopping area; two stops to Shanghai's central shopping area, Peoples Square; or one further to the picturesque Bund area, famous for night-time views of the Huangpu and Pudong, as well as its restaurants and bars. Line 2 also serves both Shanghai airports: Pudong International (PVG) to the east, and Hongqiao to the west of the city. The French Concession is to the south – about a 20 minutes walk, or 5-minute subway ride (Line7) 5 minutes by taxi – with a multitude of different areas teaming with bars, clubs and restaurants of many cuisines, backgrounds and cultural influences, not to mention the shopping.

    • Both Pudong International and Hongqiao airports are easily accessed via metro line 2 which runs east-west across the city (each airport located at far ends, Denotel is central), and regular bus service to and from each airport terminates at Jing'an bus station - 4 mins walk from Denotel.
The high-speed Maglev train from Pudong International will speed your transfer, but a taxi service is also available - please contact us and we can arrange.
