"Stayed there the 24th -the 27th of October 2012......I'll start by saying that we arrived early, extremely early in fact. On a whim, we decided to see if we could check in early. It was only 10:30 in the morning and Rick and Glenda were there, saw us pull up and immediately gave us the key to our room. We appreciated their understanding and genuine willingness to accommodate us. The room was what you would expect to find in a B&B, what wasn't expected was all the empty rooms being open for viewing at anytime; very smart move as you get an idea as to what each room looks like in case you should decide to come back, and why wouldn't you!!! Rick and Glenda are exceptional hosts, very warm, very giving and caring people. You sense immediately their love for owning and operating the B&B and want their customers to have the best time possible. We were pleasantly surprised by the attention to detail that was made each morning in the preparation and presentation of breakfast each morning. It was during breakfast that we had opportunity to chat with them, they are a beautiful caring couple, care very deeply for the community they live in, and share the most amazing stories about their lives. When you stay there be sure to ask Rick about his Grandmother who is 104 years old The sitting room upstairs was perfect for me as it afforded me a place early in the morning to read in a quiet place without disturbing my girlfriend as she slept in the room. Town is a short distance away and an easy walk for those who want to get a little exercise. It is situated far enough from town so that the surrounding area is quiet at night, but close enough to walk into town. We will be staying at the Ilex again as we see no need to look any further as we believe we've found the the Jewel of a place in Ellicottville."
