This beautiful country estate ' Le Haut-Verger ' (The High Orchard) is situated within walking distance (700 m) of the picturesque artists' village Gargilesse, officially elected as one of the most beautiful villages in France . This magnificent property , set on 7,5 hectares of land offers a panoramic view over the valley of the Creuse river. The private drive takes you to the former gatehouse (used as holidaysapartements) and after that to the impressive main building. The main house (built in 1920) offers 3 guest rooms (B&B).

Welcome to Londinium Chambres d’hotes. We offer accommodation and breakfast at our lovingly restored 18th century berrichon (longère) farmhouse set in over one hectare (three acres) of gardens over looking wonderful rolling countryside. We have plenty of garden space to relax in and guests can take the opportunity to walk and enjoy the hedges, shrubs and orchards. We have three comfortable bedrooms on the upper floor including a large suite comprising two interconnected rooms and a spacious shower room. All bedrooms are south facing with uninterrupted views of up to 60km of unspoilt countryside. Should guests wish to book an evening meal, we will be happy to serve a home cooked three/four course meal using locally sourced foods or seasonal fruits and vegetables grown in our garden. Londinium’s provide a superb holiday destination from where guests can explore the region, walk, cycle, fish or just relax, allowing life drift by. The renovation project, undertaken in 2001/02, provides a well insulated and fully heated property that is suitable for all-round use. Our home and gardens provide a tranquil setting that is peaceful, providing guests with the opportunity to relax before continuing their journey south, or indeed to take a few days to explore the wonderful and often neglected Berrichon countryside.

Château Constant, On the doorstep of Bessines sur Gartempe, a small path leads off the Saint James way to this 19C abode. Its unusual asymmetrical architecture inmmediately caugt the eye of Ana Marie and Gerard van Hooft who, after substantial renovations works, opened it to guests in 2005. The chambre d'or and chambre d'Aubergine sport a pleasantly contemporary and restful style, while Chambre Bleue will appeal to lovers of romanticism and French family charm. La chambre d'Papillon offers the delightful picture of antique furniture and an old fashioned -style bathroom, but will you discover the secret of its name? the remainder of the house is equally worthy of note from the plush classic elegance from the Salle Constant with its magnificent neo classic chimney , to the adjunct Petit Salon decorated with artifacts from the mayan culture , pieces recollected from our love of travel. It is in a protected environment that we welcome you for a weekend or holidays in the countryside. You will come to relax, practice hiking trails on foot, horseback or bicycle from the village and if you like, chat over a meal at the family table. Les Lezards is situated at the edge of a small hamlet and faces south over rolling countryside. Our homely guest accommodation consists of two first floor double bedrooms with a shared shower room and a lounge. The second floor has a family bedroom and a single bedroom, again with a shared shower room. There is secure garaging for vehicles in our barns and a small barn converted to a games room. This region is full of lakes and rivers with old castles to explore and is a paradise for walkers, fishermen and motorcyclists.
