What a lovely hotel in an adorable town!!!! LOVED it. One very important note, one of the rooms (starts with N) has a window onto the main street and it gets really noisy early in the morning. Had a terrible night's sleep the first night, but asked to be moved down the hall and then slept great. It's a darling hotel. It's ok that you can't eat there, all you have to do is cross the road and there's everything at your doorstep!
The front desk was terrific. "All" food was great. The outside patio setting was so relaxing as we sipped wine & appetizers. Room was very comfy. Overall we had a fantastic stay & plan to come back in the future.
The layout of the room and quality of furnishing, linens was perfect. The fireplace and hot tub were the perfect additions to make our stay truly special. Early morning tea/coffee and late night port were also very appreciated.
Our stay at Inn at Depot Hill was wonderful! The inn keepers were attentive, the food was fabulous and the Inn and our room was beautiful. It was the last stop on our 25th wedding anniversary trip and we couldn't have asked for anything more perfect!
I felt the room to be pleasant and unique. The warm environment was the best part. We visited on a special, so it was a real value for us. It included the room, dinner, appetizers, dessert, and breakfast. I do not think I would have visited without the special price. Not that it was not worth it;however, we could not have afforded it. Thank you for the opportunity.
Pros: 1. Spacious bathroom with shower stall and deep but awkward soaking tub. 2. Complete breakfast with choices, afternoon wine or sparkling cider and hors d'oeuvre and dessert at night. 3. Although there are no room fridges, there is a common refrigerator for guests to use in the main kitchen. 4. Staff was always gracious and pleasant. 5. When available, fresh flowers are placed through out the inn. Cons: 1.Upon entry into our room (Railroad Baron), we felt this wave of heat. There is no A/C, however a standing fan is available for cooling the room. We found it necessary to keep the patio door open (no screen) throughout the day with the drapes pulled almost fully closed to get fresh air, but also keep out the sunlight. 3. A tiny 13 inch TV set in a cupboard off to the side of the fireplace.
The Inn was very cute, we stayed in the Delft room which was decorated in all blue and white. There was a fireplace and a sitting area. The bed had a canopy and bedding was so beautiful and comfortable. We had our own patio with outdoor spa tub. They provided wine and snacks at cocktail hour and baked apple strudle at bedtime with a glass of sherry. For breakfast we had eggs benedict with fresh fruit, croisant and coffee and juice served in our room...which we enjoyed in our super compfy bed while watching TV. All the comforts & romance!
The Capitola Hotel was very nice, the website really does not do it justice. Our room was small but nicely decorated and very clean. We were in The Aruba, which has a nice big window that looks out over Esplanade Avenue. The only drawback to this, is that it can be a little noisy until the bars close. This did not bother us, we had a lovely stay.
