Antrim Villa
– Cape Town, South Africa
Built in the late 1800’s, this old English Victorian house was originally a family residence. High ceilings and well kept stuccos give this guesthouse charm and light. Situated in Three Anchor Bay, at the foot of Signal Hill, it is only a 10-minute walk from Cape Town’s new stadium and 10-minutes from the Atlantic Ocean. We purchased the house in 2008 from South African owners that had been running it as a guesthouse for 10 years. It has now been fully refurbished, inspired by a tropical-African style in a earthy colour palate, accentuated with natural fabrics such as sisal, linen and bamboo. The large, new saltwater pool lies enticingly in a secluded, tropical garden. Most of the rooms at Antrim Villa still have the original pine flooring. This is a friendly, airy house with a cosy fireplace in the lounge. Secure off street parking is provided.

About Cape Town
Book a B&B or historic hotel in Cape Town for your getaway
Cape Town, a sophisticated elegant city of great character, is the gateway to South Africa. booking Cape Town accommodation will undoubtedly be the first of many visits to Cape Town and the Western Cape, as the city has a charm and magnetism that will keep you returning year after year. Old and new, natural and man made all mingle harmoniously creating a fascinatingly unique city where the welcome is warm, the culture vibrant and the landscape dramatic.
Things to do in Cape Town, South Africa
Under the dominant view of Table Mountain, Cape Town has much to offer. The many clean, sandy beaches are some of the most beautiful urban beaches in the world, and there is a magnificent choice for sunbathers, water sports enthusiasts and naturists. The best beaches for sunbathing, swimming, frisbee and football are the Camps Bay beaches, just minutes from the city center. There are a large number of surfing, scuba diving, windsurfing (boardsailing), and fishing beaches, or for those who wish for slightly warmer waters or naturist beaches, False Bay, Kalk Bay or Simonstown are perfect.
The World Heritage site of Table Mountain is a National Icon. Rock climbers and mountaineers have a haven for climbing, and if that is too much effort for you, there is a cable car to the summit, with rocky trails around the summit to enjoy the spectacular 360° views of South Africa.
The Angling from Rooikrans, Strandfontein and Cape Hangklip is fantastic, and there is some challenging fishing to be enjoyed.
The city itself is a maze of points of interest, museums, galleries and beautiful architecture. However, for myself, the modern, bustling areas of Cape Town are the most interesting, with people adorning cafes, restaurants and the lively street markets. There are so many reasons to take Cape Town vacation accommodation, it is impossible to describe more than a pinch, and once you have come here once and scratched the surface, you will be returning to the inn in Cape Town time and time again.
Places to vacation in Cape Town, South Africa
Robben Island is one of the most significant historic places in South Africa. As a colony for dangerous political prisoners from 1960, it was 'home' to Nelson Mandela for over twenty years. Today, a limited number of visitors are allowed to visit daily, with tours of the island, and walking and cycle routes into the nature areas of the island.
For nature lovers, the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens holds over 500 species of indigenous plants. The Good Hope Nature Reserve is a magnificent local park where baboon, zebra, steenbok and 150 species of birds can be seen.
Boat trips can be taken to see the seals of Hout Bay or to Table Bay, or children can enjoy the rides of Ratanga Junction, the 'wildest place in Africa'! It is a large theme park rivalling the Disney parks. The Tygerburg Zoo is the largest in Africa, and is in within easy reach of all accommodation in Cape Town.
