A delightfully warm and charming three-story country home, the Inn was designed and built by your hosts, Michael and Stephanie McCaffrey. The home is located high in the California Gold Country, noted for a traditional four-season climate and breathtaking Sierra beauty; all good reasons why the McCaffreys were first lured here some 30 years ago.

    Michael and Stephanie McCaffrey were married in May of 1964, and lived thirty-one years in the Willow Glen area of San Jose, California, before permanently moving to Twain Harte in 1995. They have two grown up sons.

    • Cancellations: An eight day cancellation is required to received a full refund of deposit. There is a $10 processing fee per room/per night on all cancelled reservations. Rooms which are unable to be rebooked will be charged the full room rate if cancellation notice is not received within eight days of arrival.

    We were completely delighted with our stay at the McCaffrey House. The owners are very pleasant and we absolutely loved the pets that they own. The inn is very clean, the food was excellent and we are looking forward to another stay as soon as we can get away. The only regret was that we did not book two nights for our first stay! Next time we will!

    We stayed at the McCaffrey House for only one night but surely will return! This was our first experience staying at a Bed & Breakfast and we were very pleased. We hope to plan a family trip and will definitely include the McCaffrey House in our plans. The Evergreen room was beautiful and comfortable as was the entire property. We felt completely at home. Loved the dogs!

    We celebrated our actual 22nd Wedding Anniversary at McCaffrey's. My husband and I had never stayed at a B&B before and didn't know what to expect. What we found - beautiful B&B, beautiful grounds, beautiful room w/attached bath, wonderfully accommodating hosts and luscious breakfast the next day. We were only able to stay one night because they were completely sold out on subsequent nights. They have many return customers. Stephanie McCaffrey is extremely knowledgeable about the area, including Yosemite and she's always willing to help with reservations, etc. You would not be disappointed!

    Wonderful Bed and Breakfast in a beautiful, relaxing setting. The McCaffreys were gracious hosts, the food was delicious and the room was extremely comfortable and beautifully decorated. Loved the incidentals they provided like wine and cheese in the afternoons and wine and chocolate covered strawberries in the room. They even included make up remover with the shower staples. The McCaffreys definitely go above and beyond!
