The River Street Inn
Originally built in 1885, The River Street Inn has been a boarding house for ice cutters, a jail, a restaurant, a bordello, and a clandestine site for the making of bootleg liquor during during the prohibition. Recently remodeled, the Inn has combined its history with luxurious comfort to be the perfect place for an alpine retreat. Each of the eleven rooms in this boutique inn feature a private bath, color television, VCR and comfortable queen size beds with down comforters. Reading lamps and overstuffed sofas in the common areas make for an enjoyable and relaxing stay. Located in the heart of Truckee and adjacent to the Truckee River, guests of the Inn have easy access to all the regions activities, such as Alpine and Nordic skiing, skating, ans snowshoeing in the winter and golfing, hiking, swimming, rafting, kayaking, and water skiing to name a few in the summer.
