Cottage at Hollyhock Farms

We made last minute reservations and were totally surprised when we arrived. Dick and Kim met us with a wonderful glass of wine. It was a cold night so we lit the fire in the fireplace and spent a cozy evening enjoying ourselves. In the morning, we had a gourmet breakfast and spent time getting to know Dick and Kim and about the local region. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean and the hospitality five star! We can't wait to go back!

We had the best time at Hollyhock Farms. It's very clean and well kept, the surroundings are peaceful and beautiful, and the hosts are extremely great people. The breakfasts were outstanding: the best maple bacon you've ever had, deliciously plump pumpkin pancakes and sweet freshly squeezed OJ. Everything about the room was top notch: the bed, bathroom, linen, refrigerator, and even freshly baked ginger cookies. We parked right in front of our cottage and enjoyed wi-fi and satellite TV, just like in a conventional hotel, yet were out amongst vineyards and farms, with deer and sheep as neighbors, in the quietest and most stress-free spot you can imagine -all but 15 mins away from the restaurants and wine shops of Paso Robles. Absolutely the best of both worlds, and a bargain. What persuaded to try them out us was a reviewer warning that those seeking ostentatious faux neo-Tuscan McMansions better look elsewhere, and how right he was. This place is the real deal, with real people, great food and absolute peace and quiet. Highly recommended.

My wife and I stayed here on the way to the Bay Area from Southern California after a long road trip and it was just what we needed. The owners greeted us warmly on our arrival and made us feel instantly welcome and comfortable. The cottage was picture perfect quaint with modern amenities, including free wireless internet. We enjoyed deer coming up and peeking in at us through the glass door and cats and a raccoon scampering about. We were invited to walk through the organic farm on site and did that to stretch our legs. To finish off our welcome, Dick and Kim asked us if we'd like a glass of wine, which we took advantage of, and added a slice of wonderful home made peach cake which we saved for dessert after dinner at a great local restaurant they recommended. After a good night's sleep in a comfortable bed, we had breakfast shortly after 8, our choice from options anywhere we wanted between 7:00 and 9:00AM. The delicious egg dish, wonderful melons from their farm, excellent homemade bread, and very good coffee were made even more enjoyable by the fact that Kim and Dick joined us for the entire breakfast and we shared over an hour of conversation about life and experiences in the organic farming business. We kept prodding for more and got lots of insight into that world and some hilarious stories that will make this visit a positive memory for a long time. They were also very helpful in guiding to us to some fine local wineries we would have otherwise skipped based upon our own advance research. We highly recommend you seek Hollyhock Farms out and spend some time there with these fine folks. We will definitely return next time we are in the Paso Robles area.

Four friends stayed two nights in cozy, clean comfort. The Rogers are fascinating hosts and the food was marvelous, especially catered to one gluten-free guest. Quiet, rural setting but close to everything we wanted.

Outstanding, organic, gourmet breakfasts, beautiful sunsets on the deck, and generous hosts! We had an amazing time sharing the bungalow with our friends!

It doesn't take long to relax and enjoy the peacefulness of Hollyhock Farm. Dick and Kim are incredible hosts who welcome you to roam at will on the 30 acre farm. Suggestions from our hosts about local wineries and dining were excellent.

We loved being here. It was restful and beautiful. The wine tastings were fabulous in the area and the inn is run by the most gracious and interesting couple I've ever met.

It was a sojourn of yore reminiscent of our youth and replete with nostalgic amenities. The meal was prepared and presented to satiate a "Down-Home" adult. The tranquil ambiance soothed the mind and body. It was well equipped, contemporary and impeccably clean. Our hosts catered to our every need. It was nice to relive those serene days of yester year.

Four sisters nourishing and strengthening our bond. What we found was a loving, enchanting, hard working and encouraging people who felt like long time friends. Accomadations were peaceful, private, homey, clean and lovely. The view is very spectacular. The breakfast was fantastic, Everything was freshly made, the eggs were raised on the farm giving the whole experience a wonderful touch.

In this peaceful rural setting amidst the rolling farmlands and oak covered hills of central California, we enjoyed the very clean, beautiful, comfortable and cozy room and bath surrounded by lovely flower beds. The owners prepared gourmet breakfasts with creative menus, home raised eggs and local foods along with lively conversation and personal adventure stories. We also enjoyed visiting some of the many wineries and historical sites in the area.

Hollyhock Farm in Templeton was great. The B&B owners Kim and Dick were exuberant, knowledgeable, and fun. We had a great time seeing the farm and learning about organic farming.

I really enjoyed our stay. It was very comfortable, nicely located, but the highlight was spending time with the owners, Dick and Kim, touring their farm and meeting all their animals! Loved the breakfast!
