We just returned from a great time wine tasting in Amador County. We were lucky enough to stay at the Hanford House Inn. I can't say enough positive things about this bed and breakfast. The owner's are so gracious and upbeat and helpful. Dana, the innkeeper at the front desk when we arrived, was delightful. We had the best night's sleep in our spacious, air conditioned room. We got to lay in bed longer than usual when coffee and freshly baked scones were delivered to our door. After a leisurely bath in our wonderfully appointed bathroom, we enjoyed a truly gourmet breakfast. I know I sound like a travel writer and I believe more travel writers should discover this golden nugget in the Gold Country. It was simply fantastic!

We loved staying at this inn. The innkeepers/owners were so nice and accomodating, offering suggestions for dining and asking us about our days. The breakfasts were fantastic. Athena is a trained chef, so much attention was paid to presentation and of course, taste. We also enjoyed the wine and cheese hour every evening and the fresh scones each morning before breakfast. The room we stayed in was large and the bed was very comfortable. My ONLY complaint was that the bathroom was a little older and probably could be updated, but it was very clean. We would definitely stay here again!
