While driving south from San Francisco to Los Angeles, I decided I'd had enough driving after an exhausting week-long road trip. I got off the freeway around 5:30 in the evening looking for just a bed for some sleep. I came across the Inn on Summer Hill. I loved the look of it, and from the moment I stepped inside I was enchanted. The gal at reception pointed out that their afternoon wine, cheese and horsdeuvres were still out, and she encouraged me to have some. I was too tired to look for a place for dinner and that ended up being a satisfying light dinner: wine, cheese, salami, artichokes, olives. I had a wonderful relaxing soak in the spa tub in my room, and was disappointed when I couldn't stay up to try their evening desserts! After a great night's sleep on my luxurious four poster bed, I enjoyed their breakfast which included a variety of pastries, juices, coffee, teas, fruit, and yogurt plus a freshly cooked hot meal of eggs and sides by their excellent and personable chef. My very short stay was an unexpected treat. I highly recommend this Inn. btw, I had what was considered a standard room and it was a spacious room with a charming gas fireplace and a patio with a view of the ocean. I was in room #5. I also liked it that they still use real keys. Unfortunately I wasn't there long enough to use their spa, so I can't speak of that.

We had an amazing weekend at this beautiful B&B; we relaxed and enjoyed the ambience and the food it's great and there is no shortage of drinks either including wines; also in the room there is a faucet that dispense boiling water for that last cup of tea before bed (a generous supply of coffee and teas are in the room); our breakfasts were so tasty made to order and the beautiful display of homemade muffins, scones, berries and other breakfast goodies along with great coffee and a few juice options was perfect to start our day. Location is great since it's a small town and you are about a half a block from a great grocery store; we bought sandwiches and kept them fresh in the little refrigerator in the room. We found out that the noise from the freeway and the trains didn't bother us (we left the balcony door open for the fresh air); waking up to those ocean views was just magic. Customer service is exceptional and the turndown service is great; bathroom are well appointed and the Jacuzzi invites to relaxation. We are already planning to come back! Alma

What a wonderful time I had at Inn on Summer Hill! This is the perfect getaway place to go to. Watching the dolphins play from my balcony while sipping tea was delightful. The room was immaculate, beautiful, and so inviting and comfortable that I didn't want to leave! The staff was very helpful and go out of their way to make sure you feel well taken care of. I can't say enough about this lovely Inn, except that I cannot wait to return! Thanks for a truly memorable time!

So noisy we had to leave and stay elsewhere. With 101 traffic and trains it is impossible to sleep or relax. Inn owner gave no refund and treated us like trash. Do not stay here!

We had a great visit at the Inn on Summer Hill. Amazingly we rarely heard the traffic although its just past the trees. The evening snacks and breakfast were yummy. Room was a little small and the balconies aren't as private as I had hoped, but it was a very nice stay. Cute town too, wish we had allowed for more time to enjoy it instead of spending all our time in Santa Barbara. M. Frost Austin, TX

Stayed here on anniversary getaway and loved it! Beautiful room with a beautiful view. One of the most comfortable beds ever! Great service and amenities in the room. Also loved secluded hot tub enclosed for privacy. Thanks for making this leg of our trip a great memory.

My husband and I have stayed at this little inn twice in the past few years, and have been very impressed with the attention to detail in the rooms, the excellent food and service. The inn is close to the freeway, but inside the rooms are extremely quiet and restful. I love the feather bed and the down pillows. They have a video library and just about anything you could ask for a restful get away. In the area are wonderful, upscale antique shops, the beach, and great restaurants. Drive south a couple of miles to Carpinteria for surfing and Mexican food, or north one exit for top notch dining and a beautiful drive through some of the most amazing real estate in the country in Montecito. There is something for everyone.
