Escape to a bygone era at The Gables Inn, a beautifully restored Victorian mansion sitting on three acres in the center of the spectacular Sonoma Wine Country. Built in 1877 and known as the Gables since its early days, the Gables Wine Country Inn is a striking example of High Victorian Gothic Revival architecture. Three Italian marble fireplaces, a spectacular mahogany spiral staircase, and soaring twelve foot ceilings grace her interior while fifteen gables crown the unique keyhole shaped windows of her exterior. Each spacious guestroom has been furnished and decorated to reflect the historical detail found in only the most elegant Victorian mansions. Antique armoires, period artwork, and luxurious goose down bedding grace our quaint but spacious rooms. All guestrooms feature a private bath with an antique claw foot tub. Separate from the main house is William and Mary’s Cottage, a cozy little hideaway an extra large Jacuzzi bathtub, loft queen bed, kitchenette, and wood burning fireplace. A wonderful gourmet breakfast of homemade breads and pastries, freshly squeezed orange juice, and a delicious entrée made from fresh local ingredients awaits you each morning in our lovely dining room. Stretching in all directions around our inn is the charming, diverse oasis of the Sonoma Wine Country. Take a drive out to the Pacific Ocean, relax along the Russian River, or visit one of the hundreds of local wineries. Mild winters and sunny summers make this a perfect getaway any time of year.

It was our first time staying in a Bed and Breakfast, and we were very happy to have chosen this one. Pam and Larry provided warm hospitality, a delicious 3 course breakfast and a friendly and safe environment. We had a great time at their place.

We had a wonderful time staying at The Gables. The host Pam and Larry were great. We had a very early morning and they provided us a "bag breakfast" that we could enjoy on our way to our hot air balloon ride. The second morning we were treated to wonderful baked items made by Pam and a great egg, bacon, tomato, avocado and homemade bread creation by Larry. They had recommendations for dinner and made reservations for us. We would definitely stay with them again.

This is everything you could ask for in a B&B! The room was the best I seen. The breakfast, WOW, never had a better one. The next time I'm in the San Fran area I will be back there again.

From the moment we made the booking Larry & Pam went out of their way to make our arrangements for our weekend. They enquire about what we were interested in, offered recommendations for wineries, restaurants and cafes and they made reservations where needed. The house itself is so charming. It's beautifully maintained, the rooms are spacious yet cosy and the gardens are gorgeous. It was lovely waking up and looking outside, surrounded by rolling vineyards. There's also a piano downstairs that can be used by guests. There were a few other couples staying in the house at the same time along with a mum and young daughter having a weekend away. We all joined in the delightful dinning room at 9am for breakfast. I have to say this was the best breakfast I've ever had at a B & B. Talk about gourmet!! And about 4 courses! It was a perfect start to a day of wine-tasting. The highlights for me was the cheese soufflé & the poached pear & baked apricots! We also enjoyed the complimentary wine and cheese in the afternoon on the deck out the back - it was so relaxing!! Thanks Pam & Larry. We'll be back!!

This is a charming B&B in a beautiful historic house run by two of the nicest, most professional people you will meet. The accommodations and service were way above our expectations. I greatly enjoyed Pam's delicious, gourmet three-course breakfasts during our stay. We also had the opportunity to attend a wonderful wine-paired dinner, that was one of the highlights of our vacation.

My husband and I had to attend a funeral in Santa Rosa and wanted to spend the night somewhere where we could just relax in a peaceful environment. The cottage was the perfect spot. It was cozy and quiet. Breakfast was very good as well.

a. My stay at the Gables Inn was an experience that opened my eyes to how a Bed and Breakfast should be run. You enter as a guest but you leave as a friend with a longing to return. This is precisely why I ran into two guests who have stayed at the Inn in March and were happy to be back again this November. The property of the Inn is absolutely gorgeous. It is furnished and decorated in a Victorian style with much taste. I had stayed at the Parlor room, where the ceilings are twelve feet and the bathroom is larger than many Manhattan apartments. The fireplace was also a good touch. The room was impeccably clean. There is a beautiful “living room” with a piano where both guests and proprietors mingle during the evening. One aspect of my visit was particularly pleasant, because the proprietors, Larry and Pam, went out of their way to make my stay in Sonoma memorable. They spent time directing me to vineries that produce wine suited to my particular tastes as well as giving me directions to a park where the Redwoods are in easy reach. Also, the breakfasts were something to die for. You would think that at this point it would be hard to be impressed with food but nothing could be further from the truth. The breakfast was creative, fresh, and nothing short of dazzling. The proprietors are incredibly accommodating. As I was leaving early, breakfast was served to me a little bit early. It is this kind of flexibility and grace that I do not often encounter when staying at a B&B. The combination of a beautiful property, incredibly knowledgeable Inn Keepers whose guidance makes your stay easy and enjoyable, is the reason why this will be my go to accommodation in Sonoma.
