Prufrock's Garden Inn by the Beach
Featured in Sunset&LandsEnd, Closest To State Beach, Seal Refuge, Tide Pools, Galleries, Cafes, Antiques, Whale Watching. WEBSITE VIDEO FEATURE. We are Judy and Jim Halvorsen(picture at right). How many times do you call for lodging and talk to the owners? Call(805)566-9696 and you will almost always talk to one of us. We created Prufrocks in 1994 and are the innkeepers. Our background is university teaching and counseling and we utilize that experience to carefully listen to your desires for PRIVACY or CONVERSATION, and also to help you with your DAY-OUTING plans. This is a unique aspect of special B&B’s.
-Ours is a traditional B&B; HISTORIC(circa 1904)HOME with eight guest rooms, we live on site and have a goal of hospitality that reflects graciousness & intimacy. The AROMA of HOME BAKING fills the inn both AM and PM, the OJ IS FRESH-SQUEEZED each day and FRESH FLOWERS from our garden brighten individual rooms and common areas. Our 24-HR TREATS & DRINKS availability is rare even in B&Bs. THE CERTIFIED SANTA BARBARA FARMER'S MARKET is on our street each week providing fresh food, flowers, and art.
-Our location offers WALKING CONVENIENCE unique among area accommodations. Within five minutes walk the BEACH PARK, more than 15 unique local eateries & coffee houses, antique & garden shops, DAY-SPA, ART GALLERIES, grocery & hardware stores, and more. Add a few minutes and explore TIDE POOLS at low tide, one of four protected SEAL REFUGES on the CA coast, and a salt-marsh park for great bird watching.
-Guests honored us in a letter writing blitz resulting in a ‘LA Times Reader’s Favorite’ award. SUNSET magazine and LAND'S END chose us for features. The city awarded a ‘Community Beautiful’ designation.
