The Eagle Inn

We stayed at the Santa Rosa cottage for our honeymoon and loved it so much we stayed there again for our 1 year anniversary. The staff is awesome and it is a great deal for your money. You get breakfast delivered to your door - and you get to pick out what you want! We had the romance package - awesome! And we had the picnic package - even more awesome! Even their bedsheets are softer than the ones at home. You get to wear super soft terry cloth robes too. We love this place and will stay here every chance we get.

The breakfasts at this Inn are fantastic! We stayed 4 nights and each day there was something new and tasty. The staff are very courteous and the location was great. We really enjoyed our stay.

My boyfriend and I had our first time vacation in Sta. Barbara. We stayed at the Eagle Inn. All of the staff here are so polite and friendly. And one good thing about this hotel is that it is just a few steps to many more destinations and entertainments. With that, I consider this stay as one of our unforgettable experience as couple.

My boyfriend and I recently celebrated our six year anniversary with a stay at the Eagle Inn. As a UCSB alumnus, I love the beautiful Spanish style beach town of Santa Barbara. My boyfriend and I visit often and were very pleased with our decision to stay at the Eagle Inn. From the moment we checked in, a sense of calm and relaxation fell over us from the scent of lavender in the Inn's lobby. The receptionist was very welcoming and greeted us with a tray of freshly baked pumpkin muffins which looked amazing! We stayed in the San Miguel Cottage, which was a perfect combination of romance and luxury. Since my identity isn't revealed in this review, I will admit that we hid away in our cottage for our entire first day of the trip. We took advantage of the jacuzzi tub which was surrounded by rose petals, kindled the fireplace, and got lost with each other to the melodies of Norah Jones which I was able to stream through Pandora using the Inn's WiFi. We also enjoyed the large glass shower which had two heads for convenience...very useful for couples. Even the toiletries supplied by the Inn were nice, the shampoo had an appealing citrus aroma and the soap left our skin feeling very soft and moisturized (when usually hotel toiletries tend to be cheap and make your skin feel tight and dry). The breakfast was delicious! We had smoked salmon, bagels, fruit, and juice delivered to our cottage in the morning at our convenience (complementary of the Inn). After getting our fill we took a stroll down to the beach which was just a few minutes from the Inn, and then took a trolley from the wharf to the Farmers' Market downtown before we made our way to tour the beautiful Santa Barbara Court House. Overall we had a wonderful weekend, the Eagle Inn was a gorgeous place to spend our anniversary, and we will definitely stay again!

Stayed in Santa Barbara a few times, and this was by far my best experience. My wife and I stayed in the San Clemente room, and it was fantastic. She has informed me that this is where we will be staying on all future visits. Great breakfasts, Great staff, Great room. I can't say enough good things. Visit The Eagle Inn, you won't be disappointed.

The pictures do not do justice to this property. It is a small boutique hotel in Andalucian style where little touches and good service elevate it above similarly priced establishments. Our bright and airy room was huge with modern art work and tasteful decor and French doors leading to a balcony. Breakfast was v good quality with organic fruit and homemade granola or a hot "special ". This is the only meal served but there are plenty of good restaurants nearby.

This was a major surprise for us. We loved the San Miguel Room!! We had a king sized bed, a jacuzzi tub, a fireplace, in back of the main house--nice and quiet. We loved Santa Barbara! The Inn was a block and a half away from the main strip--the wharf and boats. Everything was in walking distance.If you walked through the back on to the sidewalk,towards the right, you could get to State Street very easily. For breakfast--you could go to dining room or they would bring food to your room. There was always a choice. The ladies at front desk were very knowledgeable and helpful. We stayed for two nights on our way up the pacific coast highway. I would stay here again, without any second thoughts! The place was lovely!!! This was our 25th anniversary vacation.

My husband and I chose the Eagle Inn based on affordability and value. The room was gorgeous and we really enjoyed how close the inn was to the beach and state street. Breakfast was delicious each day. We were offered use of the inn's bicycles but did not have time to do so. We would definitely stay here again!

I loved our St Clements cottage. The fireplace and huge hot tub (with rose petals) made my stay very romantic! The staff were very friendly and helpful.

A beautiful Inn in a wonderful location. The room was large with very comfortable furnishings. The staff was courteous and helpful and the mornings breakfast delicious and filling.

Enjoyed the Eagle Inn, It was exactly what and where we expected. It would have been nice if the air conditioning worked. The TV was sub-standard (plasma loss). The service was excellent and when they have finished the repairs (AC) and replaced the TV it will be perfect. We look forward to returning and will soon.

The double tub was very comfortable, it would have been better if the fireplace was visible from the tub. Location is excellent, quick walk to the harbor and a very easy walk to town. Breakfast was brought out to the cottages, a nice touch.

My wife & I had never stayed at, or even heard of, The Eagle Inn before I found it online while planning our trip. We've been to Santa Barbara many times and prefer the Harbor area. The Eagle Inn's web site was very attractive, and I only hoped it would live up to the promises. The actual property is better than the promises! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed. The Inn is very clean, the staff is very accomodating and courteous. Our room had a king-size bed, whirlpool tub,gas fireplace, two-headed shower, and small balcony. The linens on the bed are so comfortable, they are microfiber(they are available for purchase).The sit-down breakfast was excellent with a changing option each day, in addtion to yogurt and granola. We will be back, probably to one of the cottages behind the main building.

We had a wonderful stay mid-week. I loved the location-walk to the beach, State Street, the wineries, parks. We loved the beach bikes and used them to go everywhere. It was very comfortable and clean and the breakfast was fantastic-fresh fruit and juice every morning! Great deal for the price.

I had a wonderful stay at the Eagle Inn. The Santa Barbara cottage room was perfect. It was roomy, charming and loved the jacuzzi tub. One of the best parts was having the free and delicious continental breakfast delivered to my room and the time of my choosing. I can't wait to stay here again.

The Eagle Inn was recommended for our Christmas night getaway by a friend who often stays in Santa Barbara, who had never stayed there. I investigated as this friend often has perfect intuitive solutions. When I found that it had a fireplace and a whirlpool tub for two, it sounded too good to be true. The price was also quite reasonable. I was hoping not to be disappointed as I was going with a new love. We came from the Coast Starlite, tired from traveling on the train all day and we met cordially, checked in quickly, and amazed at the beauty of our luxurious room. We couldn't have been happier! Even better was the free breakfast the next morning with a sweet waitress smiling and bringing cappacino! The only flaw we found was that there was no water in the room and as resting travelers, we did not want to have to walk to town for water. We were told that it was in a filtered jug in the kitchen, but we could not find it. Later when we checked out, I was told that they sold water bottles on the back porch from the Coke machine, but no one had mentioned this either. It seemed like a wierd flaw in an otherwise 5 star experience. I would go back and also would recommend this inn to anyone.

The Eagle Inn is a fantastic B&B! We stayed in the Catalina room and it was great. It looks exactly like the pictures on the website. When we checked in they offered to bring breakfast to our room which was awesome-great way to start the day. The location is great-just a couple of blocks from the beach but you can also walk to sate street where there is a lot of shopping and restaurants. We also borrowed bikes from the Eagle Inn for free!!! You can ride all along the beach which was beautiful. Awesome trip to SB and a lot had to do with this B&B!

The Eagle Inn is one the outstanding bed and breakfasts in the country. Every room is elegantly appointed with relaxing textures and tones. The suites include beautiful landscaping that enhances the interior decor. The breakfast that is served each day directly to your room at personally requested times is prepared with the same care and attention to detail. Attention is paid to health and nutrition and the presentation reflects the ambience of the hotel, elegant yet relaxed-served in a beautifully appointed wicker basket.

The Eagle Inn is an absolutely wonderful place to stay. We had made last minute reservations to celebrate my wife's birthday. We were able to get the Standard Queen room and, even though the room was a little small, it certainly was adaquate for our short stay. The room was very clean, had a microwave, mini-refrigerator, nice tv, and assorted bath products. (Double shower heads were also a nice feature). Be aware that this particular room is not sound-proof...road noise and sounds from within the hotel were easily heard. We took Amtrak to Santa Barbara, and it was a quick stroll from the station to the Inn...about 5-10 minutes. The location is also close to the harbor and shopping on State Street. Final kudos go to the office staff and breakfast server...all very nice and helpful.

The Eagle Inn is a lovely little Inn with lots of charm. Conveniently located near the Harbor and within walking distance to State Street, and Wine tasting as well. The staff are friendly and helpful. We wanted to take a hike, and they found us two perfect hikes to choose from, printing out directions for us before we even asked. The breakfast was a pleasant surprise too. All in all, a very nice place to stay!

We were there midweek, off-season and the price was better than the chains. We stayed in a cottage out outback that was lovely and quaint. A friend stayed with us the second night. They provided an air mattress for free. The location was ideal. We walked to State street, a big shopping district and to the beach and waterfrobt.

We stayed for two nights and took time to walk to the harbor and the wharf. The room was very clean and the staff was very friendly. The cookies in the lobby during the evening were killer. We had some minor issues with the window screens and the flat screen TV. Nothing that made the stay negative... they just need a little tender care.

Great room; wonderful breakfast. In a "no-smoking" room there were cigarette butts in the potted plant and ashes on the table which were not removed after we made three requests. The reading light was burned out and needed to be replaced, but was never replaced after our three requests. Service could be improved, but the place is beautiful.

I was referred to the Eagle Inn by a friend, and I was so pleased she did! We really enjoyed our 2-night stay! We were so pleased that they had availability on a holiday weekend, and were so impressed w the quaintness of the Inn, the great customer service, comfy rooms, and breakfast! I expected only fruit and muffins but it was so nice to have a warm breakfast treat also! We will definitely stay here again!

This is more of a small intimate inn. We stayed in one of the cottages and really enjoyed our stay. Nice room layout. Nicely furnished. Roomy bathroom. Marvelous breakfast. On site parking. Terrific location. Great value for the $$$. Would unquestionably stay here again and would definiely recommend.

You feel immediately as a king as soon as you got into the room. The rooms are really comfortable and inviting and when you once got in, you don't want to leave anymore

Beautiful grounds and short walk to restaurants, beach and pier. Room was comfortable and clean with nice bath products. I believe that the Inn was fully booked, but it was so quiet! Receptionist very nice and helpful. Breakfast was very nice - choice of 2 items - plus a nice fruit plate. We will definitely be back next year for a least a week.

We were very pleased with our stay at the Eagle Inn. We were in Santa Barbara for a wedding, and as such, got to spend time in several of the different rooms (they're all unique). Ours had 2 double beds with a full kitchen (including oven and dishwasher); another had a full size bed with a huge balcony; one of the bridal suites had a jacuzzi, couch, balcony, and plenty of room for us to hang out in. The service was as you'd hope for - everyone there was very friendly. The breakfast was perfectly fine, and nice that they had options available. I borrowed a bike from them that was in acceptable shape (no helmets, though), and was able to bike down the waterfront for a few miles. If I need to stay at a hotel in Santa Barbara in the future, I will definitely look to stay at the Eagle Inn - everyone was lovely, it was a very comfortable space, and reasonably priced for what we received.

Stayed in the cotage not attached to the Inn. Very cozy. Breakfast, delivered to the room, was better than expected. Great place to stay!

It is an amazing Inn with wonderful rooms (at least the one we stayed in), great location, friendly staff. It was a bit disappointing that they did not have a lift to the 1st floor or anybody to help with the suitcases. Breakfast is innovative and tasty. Superb value for money.

Very good boutique hotel with a nice mood, I would definitely stay again. Good location. Dining was just a continental breakfast and it was fine.

My husband and I spent our anniversary here summer 2011. It's a charming Inn with a healthy, fresh breakfast every morning and happy, helpful staff. We loved the location near the less crowded end of the main beach. We took advantage of the Inn beach crusade and explored the neighborhood from bicycles. We had a small balcony and a spa tub. Loved the old Spanish style that is e erywhere in SB. We are going back next year.

A little hidden jewel of a Bed and Breakfast. 2 blocks from the beach, clean ( very important to me ) new but, charming a stylish. Owners really care about this property and the happiness of their guests. The Eagle Inn also lends out great beach cruiser bikes to their guests to ride along the Santa Barbara coast, so fun. Breakfast is brought to your room if you stay in the deluxe King rooms, we did and loved it The Santa Catalina Cottage , only $269. a night, not bad for the beach area of Santa Barbara. If you are not in a Deluxe King, you go into a breakfast room for your choice of a coffee drink, Mocha, Espresso along with a fruit bowl, orange juice and a choice of entrees and breads. Bed sheets are surly 600 -800 thread count, as they are so soft and the beds are comfortable. There is a computer in the lobby, free of charge. I can't say enough about this hotel except, I wish could visit Santa Barbara more often and stay there.

My now Fiancee and I stayed in the Santa Rosa cottage it was just amazing. Everything about the Eagle Inn just exceeded our expectations. We did not want to leave the room. It was beautiful and romantic. Yet it still seemed kid friendly. So close to the beach and everything. Cant wait to come back, we're actually considering tying the knot here in Santa Barbara since it now holds a place in our hearts. The location is very good. We stayed in the Santa Cruise cottage which can accommodate easily 3 adults. There is. A good kitchen and eating area and the bedroom has a bathroom attached. All in all a very comfortable stay, will not hesitate to book the inn again in the future and do recommend it to guests who are traveling with an adult child or a younger child. Good value for Santa Barbara.

Overall the facility was very nice & well kept. We thought there was a pool but found out upon arrival there wasn't (our mistake). There was no comfortable lounging area where our group (6 adults) could sit and converse. A small patio with wrought-iron furniture was all that was available. Not comfortable. Breakfasts were uniformly lousy. Like airline food. Dining area small, tables and chairs not comfortable. Service staff was very nice, accomodating and friendly-first rate. Will try other lodging next time.

Great clean room at a decent price for the area. Great salmon and bagel breakfast on one morning!

We stayed in the second floor room at the front of the Inn which was beautiful, luxurious, and spacious. As an added bonus, it had two flat screen TVs and a whirlpool tub for two. We loved that the Inn offers complimentary bicycles which we used to explore the nearby coast of Santa Barbara. Although in a fairly quiet residential and small hotel area of town, we could hear street noises (traffic) fairly early in the morning as we kept our window open. The room does not have A/C which wasn't necessary, except to avoid hearing some outdoor noise. Bed sheets are 500 count so felt wonderful. Easy walking distance to the beach and restaurants.

The Eagle Inn is beautiful with great decor, friendly staff and wonderful rooms. The location is perfect, just a short walk to the beach and not far from the main strip. The only negative is that it is next to a residential unit and the neighbor complained about noise when we were on the patio next to the parking lot.

Lovely room, great location - easy walk to beach, wharf, & many restaurants. Good parking. Very nice room, comfortable bed, nice bathroom. Really lovely served breakfast. Very nice people. However - a/c in window didn't work and despite coolish weather outside we really needed it to work. Request to front desk for attention to this resulted only in (a very cordial) promise to notify the manager. No remedy, and found out only on checking out that the manager wasn't actually in until later that day, two days after our initial request for service.

We enjoyed our stay in the Anacapa Room. A really nice touch was having breakfast delivered to our room each morning. Wonderful bathtub that was decorated with roses.

We were in the San Nicolas suite. It is dominated by a huge bath tub in the corner of the room. They have low flush toilets but a nice roomy shower that uses an obscene amount of water. The room shares a narrow hallway with another room for access at the top of a set of outside stairs. Bag movement is difficult at best. No help was offered to assist with the luggage. Breakfast came one day, a bit incomplete (no flatware) and not at all the second day.

The place is cozy, quiet, clean, and charming. You won't find a better value in the area. Delicious conplimentary breakfast, friendly staff, good sized rooms with comfortable beds. Fresh coffee and warm cookies in the lounge. Definitely a plus! It was our first time visiting, but we will definitely be back.

As always, a wonderful couple of nights at The Eagle Inn. Bed was especially comfortable! A perfect refuge after a stressful "move-out" from the dorm at UCSB! Looking forward to our next stay!

Arriving after a long drive from Yosemite, we were delighted by the warm and friendly welcome we received the moment we stepped inside the front door. The decor and furniture gave the entrance hall something of a Spanish feel. The room was well appointed; the bed was pleasantly firm and inviting; the bathroom equipped with all one could need! With the in-room coffee, high speed wifi and flat screen tv, we were well equipped for relaxing. But, because it was Santa Barbara, we scarcely used them!! Only a very short distance from the sea front, Marina and beach, The Eagle Inn is ideally placed for the visitor - the car could be safely left at the Inn whilst we walked around the town and took in the sea front delights! The Eagle Inn - find it, book it, enjoy it!!! We did!!

We stayed in the San Clemente cottage during our honeymoon Mid-May 2011. The room was very nice with flat screens in both room, a fireplace in between the rooms and a little patio outside. The breakfast was good, but just not nearly enough food for two people. They brought it to our room in a little picnic basket. Free DVDs was a nice feature also. It is just a short walk to the beach also. Enjoy!

My wife and I originally were acquainted with The Eagle Inn through a promotional deal. We enjoyed the location, condition, service and quaint rooms, which met with/or exceeded our expectations. The next time we planned a trip to Santa Barbara, I searched on line to see what was available, and was again attracted to The Eagle Inn. Their hospitality, paired with the room rates and condition will make The Eagle Inn one of our top choices of hotels whenever we visit Santa Barbara.

My wife and I have been staying at the Eagle Inn regularly over the past 10 years. Having stayed at many, many fine establishments in SB, like the Spanish Garden Inn, DoubleTree, etc, we have found the Eagle Inn to be our favorite spot. The rooms are always spotless, service is immediate, uber-friendly and professional AND their cookies are actually better than the DoubleTree. We can't recommend the Eagle Inn enough. We had an enjoyable stay at this quiet off the beach inn. We especially liked the morning breakfast served in a lovely little room off of the lobby. We would definitely stay here again and have recommend this inn to our family and friends.

A very clean, well appointed, pleasant place to stay with friendly staff, and within easy walking distance to the beach, marina and restaurants. I would recommend The Eagle Inn. The only negative thing I noted was that the coffee at breakfast was rather weak and needed improvement (and that is based on only one morning we ate there).

We meet several family members for a wonderful stay at the Inn. It was a great time and the staff was helpful and the breakfast was wonderful.

We had a wonderful stay at the Eagle Inn over Memorial Day Weekend. The room was spacious, breakfast yummy, and the location was perfect - close to both State Street and the Harbor. The staff was really helpful -- from recommending great restaurants to providing a few extra things for our room. We've never stayed here before, but it is now our favorite place in Santa Barbara. We will be back next year for sure! Karen

If you are looking for a very nice place to stay at a terrific price, this is the place for you. Stayed in the San Nicholas and it was very nice. There are actually 3 covered parking spots under the suite that I didn't know of until I got there. Parking is adequate, but you may have to park on the street. Just read the signs for street sweeping or "resident only" periods. The room was large, nicely decorated and comfortable. Well within walking distance to many nice places.

Our stay at The Eagle Inn was fantastic. The location is terrific. The staff was always cheerful, prompt, and helpful. We loved the beach cruisers. The only complaints: 1. There was no dresser in our room to put our clothes away 2. The breakfast was kind of mediocre We will definitely stay at The Eagle Inn again!

Great stay. Very nice smaller hotel and we will definitely return. We live and hour and half away and will use it as our getaway place in the future.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. They made an error in our reservation as we had reserved a cottage and they had us down for a room. We were accommodated graciously with a one night free stay. The room we were in was pleasant and cozy. An upgrade for the televisions are greatly needed. (flat screens). We enjoyed the jacuzzi and the area is peaceful. I was disappointed with breakfast on our first morning. Breakfast is served until 10am daily and by 8:15am, they had run out of their hot dish. Other than that, the service was pleasant and the facilities had a lot of character and it was overall a pleasant stay. We would definitely come back again and stay in one of the cottages as originally planned.

The inn had the feeling of a quaint getaway with the professional service of a major hotel. The rooms were clean and accommodating (complete with a fridge, microwave and complimentary snacks). They provided wonderful breakfasts each morning that were balanced and filling and so much better than the average complimentary breakfasts (and they were cost free). The receptionists were so helpful and overall everyone at the inn has great communicating skills. The inn is close to the beach and State street, yet hidden in a quiet neighborhood. The room decor is plain but after all the "extras" they offer, it doesn't matter. Also, they do go out of their way to make certain rooms more "romantic" for certain occasions (our room had rose petals in the whirlpool). I would recommend this inn to anyone who wants to relax and getaway and feel at home, away from home.

Our room was very nice, warm, cozy, eloquent and spacious! The breakfast delicious with polite courteous service! The Inn is located within easy walking distance of the beach, dinning and attractions. Already planning another trip!!

A short walk from the beach, this cute inn was a great place to stay to enjoy Santa barbara. It wasn't far from state street, downtown, so we were able to easily go out. The room was small but had a very cozy feeling which made me feel at home. Breakfast was delicious and ready for us when we needed it. I enjoyed staying here and would come back.

We stayed at The Eagle Inn for 3 nights. Our room very comfortable and very clean. We had a small balcony we would sit out on with trees around us for privacy. Every morning we had breakfast in the dining room out on the balcony and it was fabulous! The continental breakfast was exceptional, giving you 2 entrees to choose from, fresh juice, a bowl of fresh fruit, and coffee or tea or Expresso! The location is absolutely wonderful. Bicycles are available to you, compliments of the Inn and we used them everyday to bike everywhere! The receptionists were very helpful for directions, restaurant ideas and taking care of any requests we may have had. We loved the size of the Eagle Inn. It is personal, cozy, and extremely charming! Our only regret was that we did not stay longer!

Went there for our anniversary. Felt it was a good value

We stayed in the San Clemente room, the tub was what I was looking forward to. I was a bit disappointed that the jets were unusable. When we turned them on, they made such a high pitched squeaking noise that we had to turn them off after a few seconds. The ladies at the front desk were very sweet but it would have been more welcoming if someone would have shown us to our room, it was not connected to the main building, we had trouble finding it. The breakfast was delicious. Overall, we were happy with our stay.

The room my wife and I stayed in was luxurious in its amenities. We thoroughly enjoyed the cottage we stayed in. The service was outstanding and timely. Members of the staff went out of their way to make sure we had all we needed in our room. Chuck's Waterfront Gill left something to be desired as did the in-room breakfast. Neither my wife nor I enjoyed the bagels and lox were surprised with as our breakfast entree. However, we appreciated the choices and the attempt to provide an enjoyable meal to us during our stay. We definitely plan to stay at the Eagle Inn again.

Wonderful location: so close to the beach and within walking distance of everything I wanted to go to on State Street. Clean, comfortable room. Loved the fireplace and the whirlpool tub. Breakfast was simple but very yummy. We will definitely return one day.

The staff was extremely helpful, the breakfast was delicious, the room was cozy with a great mountain view, and the inn's bicycles were a great way to see Santa Barbara. Just 2 blocks to the water and a short walk to dining!

The location of the hotel is great - right near the beach and main street - the bikes are the best part of the stay - at your leaisure, at no cost - miles of paved bike path right on the ocean.

I Have stayed at the Eagle Inn a few times and every time is awesome. Centrally located, great service, very clean. I sleep like a baby.

Very friendly and informative staff. Great location on a quite street with free parking. Terrific breakfasts in the garden room.

We considered location, the no-pets policy, reasonable cost, and included breakfast in our choice. Because this B&B was only 3 blocks off the West Beach, it was quiet and peaceful. Although our room was on the second floor (no elevators), Mr. Bullock helped carry our luggage upstairs. The breakfast was outstanding: homemade and hot dishes along with a generous fresh fruit bowl.

Room was located on second floor above breakfast room. Breakfast room flooring is new with tile. Can hear breakfast preparation which starts at 6:30 a.m. and movement of chairs when guest start coming for breakfast. Also in the evening around 9:30 noise is coming from the breakfast room; preparation for the morning. Annoying to listen to that noise.

We just came home from our 2nd stay at the Eagle Inn. We take the train from San Diego and the inn is within walking distance of the station. Once again, we were impressed with the rooms, the service, the accommodations, etc. Kirstin at the front desk was very helpful in recommending restaurants, with directions to a grocery store, with extra blankets, with a request for a desk fan for our room.....you name it, she was able to do it for us! We cannot wait to come back again -

we stayed there for 2 nights. the room we got was rather small with view on the parking. The breakfast is OK, everything is there but nothing fancy. The girls at the reception desk were very friendly and helpful. We really appreciate that. There is no allocated parking spot with the reservation, so if the parking is full, you need to find a place somewhere else. I guess the prices are higher because it is Santa Barbara. I motel like this in Pasadena, CA would be 3 times cheaper.

I called ahead to let them know it was my wife's birthday. When we arrived, the maid had sprinkled rose petals around the tub! What a great touch. Also, the linens and bathrobes were insanely soft. We will be back.

Loved the room. We stayed in the room for most of our stay. Ordered room service which was very tasty. Everything was so clean. The night desk girl was super friendly. The location was perfect for an ocean breeze, and a short walk to the marina for some excellent seafood. When we decide to go back to S.B. we will stay here again.

My husband and I stayed here recently for a friend's wedding. We reserved the Anacapa Cottage Room, which is separate from the main hotel building. We loved it! The room was very nice, the bed was super comfy, and the whirlpool tub for two was so romantic. The continental breakfast was just ok. Our last morning (it was a Sunday) we got to breakfast about 20 minutes before it was ending, and there was hardly any food left. There were no glasses or coffee mugs or silverware. So that was disappointing. Also, the mini-fridge in our room froze a bottle of water and some leftovers in less than a day. However, the staff were gracious and extremely helpful. All in all, we would definitely stay here again!

The rooms very clean, did not like old fashioned bedspread, would have preferred a comforter, WI FI was down, plus the cable connection off and on, and the man working the front desk in the afternoon and morning was busy on the phone each time and did not seem that friendly. Otherwise a good location

It was a family trip, 2 adults and 2 children. The room was big enough for 4 of us and very nice and clean. We can't wait to go back again and stay at the cottage~!

Great access to the beach (just 2 short blocks),and downtown, but without the noise and traffic. Nice residential location, very attractive property, reasonable rates, friendly staff, very comfortable beds and pillows. I found it when doing a Santa Barbara lodging search, so did not think of it in terms of being a B&B, and it is not in the name. I always search out a genuine patisserie wherever I travel and go there for espresso and pastry, therefore breakfast was not a consideration of mine. So in that regard breakfast exceeded my expectations. Definitely neither the food nor arrangement are what you would find in a typical B&B, but certainly it was more than what you would have at a motel. It was tasty: a hot breakfast cheese pie (not quiche as I read in another review ~ and it wasn't pretending to be),yogurt, a selection of the usual carbs ~ bagels, bread, small pastries, cereals, juice, but what I especially appreciated having was a bowl of fresh fruit - 2 kinds of melon, strawberries, grapefruit, blueberries, orange. If I ever return to Santa Barbara, staying at Eagle Inn would be an easy choice.

We had no idea what to expect - went on a recommendation and it was great - would stay again.

The room was very nice and I especially enjoyed the little romantic touches such as the rose pedals on the jacuzzi tub, the wine and champagne glasses and the chocolates. The bathrooms were also very nice and updated. The fireplace was awesome especially since it was quite cold outside. The sheets were so soft and luxurious. We throughly enjoyed our stay except for a couple of minor things. The mini fridge didn't seem to stay very cold, the shower heads lacked pressure, and the door to the tv enclosure would not stay open (room 216) so we had to try and prop it open with the curtains. Other than that everything was great. It rained the whole weekend so it was nice to have such a nice room to hide out in.

i was hoping this was going to be a good weekend with my wife when in fact it turned out to be the greatest weekend of our 25 yrs married. as men know, it's easy to think that we can do the right thing at times but, you know you did when your wife says it. she was so blessed by the elegance and attention to detail the eagle inn cottage provided. she is still in awe about the whole experience there and we will be returned customers without a doubt. thank you soo.. much

The suite was very clean and the service was super friendly, I would recommend The Eagle Inn to friends and spend the extra money for a suite its worth it.

We booked the Eagle Inn on recommendation from our daughter. We had booked for 3 nights and on our first night we were woken at 2am by the battery in the smoke alarm beeping, we did check but could find how disconnect the battery, hence no sleep. At 8am the next morning I advised the front desk of the problem and when we went to breakfast the problem was rectified. I mentioned that I was not happy to pay for the night and Lisa advised she would talk to the Manager. Lisa phoned when we returned from breakfast to advise the problem had been fixed and that there would be no charge for the night the rest of our stay was problem free and we thoroughly enjoyed the Eagle Inn and recommend it. Walking distance to town, restaurants, beach and pier. Rooms were large Clean and comfortable, although not enough shelving space in the bathroom.

My husband and I really enjoyed our weekend getaway at the Eagle Inn. It is also very conveniently located and quiet.

My ratings seem a bit low, but I followed their exact explanations of each. I liked how the person at the front desk put a caller on hold so she could finish taking care of us first. We stayed at the San Miguel Cottage, which was wonderful and cozy. The bed linens and cover were so yummy-soft. We enjoyed the complimentary snacks and amenities planted throughout the rooms. The only thing that was lacking was the housekeeping: We left the room at 9 a.m. and returned at 12:40 p.m. to an uncleaned room. Since we were going to laze around, we put the "No Moleste" sign up so we would be undisturbed. Later, we found a preprinted note on the outside doorknob claiming that the cleaner had come before noon and was unable to clean because of the sign. Someone needs to get their watch fixed. All in all, just a little blemish on an otherwise enjoyable stay.

We're newly weds and we chose to have our honeymoon at Santa Barbara. This hotel was very accommodating to us, especially because my husband is disabled and the staff was more than helpful. They went out of their way to make our stay a wonderful experience. Because of my husband's disability and could not get up the stairs, they brought our breakfast to us every morning through out our stay. It was very clean, quiet and very comfortable room.

Clean, quiet and a nice central location - within walking distance to the harbor and State Street restaurants/shops. Food could have been more to our expectations...rather mundane fare - nothing exceptional. We did enjoy the cookies and fresh fruit upon arrival. Front desk personell extremely cordial! We two adults with two adult sons/wives)expect to return in the near future.

My husband and I recently enjoyed a weekend getaway in Santa Barbara to attend a concert at the Arlington Theater, and the Eagle Inn is our new favorite place to stay S.B. We stayed in the San Clemente cottage - so comfortable, clean and quiet. Relaxing in the rose petal-lined whirlpool tub, sipping chilled wine and nibbling the free signature chocolates, was simply heavenly. My husband especially enjoyed the double-headed shower, and we both found the bed very comfortable as we drifted off to sleep warmed by the bedside fire. I scored the last delicious piece of frittata at breakfast (they should prepare a bit more), and we both found the breakfast selections more than adequate, though not inspiring. Definitely get a cottage if you can, it is well worth a slightly higher price. We will be returning soon, for a longer stay!

Room and service were well beyond expectations. "Breakfast" was served from 8-10. Upon arrival at 9:00, most items were picked over, leaving cold cereal and english muffins.

The room was awesome, the added romance package including champagne,chocolate dipped strawberries, vase full of roses, and rose pedal strewn about the jacuzzi was perfect! My wife and I had a great time at the Harbor restaurant, and enjoyed the coastline and romantic walk along the beach. The attentive staff was perfect and professional, even stepping away from their duties to assist in a special inquiry for my wife. This was the best night of the year so far.............. highly recommended, from 40+ year old SB native! Michael~

My wife and I stayed at the Eagle Inn for one night, in February 2011. While I had reserved a Queen room, when checking in we received an upgrade to the San Nicolas room, as I had commented that we were celebrating an anniversary. What a nice surprise, and an unexpected one. There was also a handwritten card in our room, congratulating us! How thoughtful of the staff at the Eagle Inn. The room was spotless. Rose petals were placed around the edge of the whirlpool tub. WOW! Breakfast was excellent, with many choices. The location was right in the middle of it all, yet secluded and quiet at the same time. Fabulous. Fabulous. You will not regret staying at the Eagle Inn. Do it!

The room itself exceeded our expectations. It was truly beautiful and with great features. The desk service was very friendly and very helpful through our stay. On-site parking was safe and convenient. The location is great. We walked to most spots in the West Beach area. It is a very attractive neighborhood.

I am a native to Sta. Barbara and decided to find a comfortable place to stay this visit instead of imposing on my local relatives for a place on their sofabed. I was a little concerned at first when I saw that they are in the middle of remodeling, but found that the rooms where clean and comfortable. We didn't have any problems with noise as the construction crew where working during the day while we where away from our room. The staff was friendly and unobtrusive, and the breakfast included healthy choices of fruit,yogurt, home made frittata and of course pastries (also made fresh). As a bonus, I have relatives within walking distance! The amatrak train station is not too far, a few blocks away! Yet far enough away that you can't hear the train go by! I will return again, despite it is a little tricky to find this hotel. The directions need to be updated slightly, which I was told they are planning to do.

Very pleasant experience and we could walk over to the harbor every night for dinner. The location is unbeatable. Great people and the room was quiet and comfortable. We will be staying there again. It was nice to get away from the Portland weather!

My wife and I stayed at The Eagle Inn for our 10th Anniversary and we expect to be back there in the coming months. A nice weekend getaway.

the room we got was very noisy (right off the lobby). the heater did not work - we were COLD the entire time. the advertised "free high speed internet" was sporadic and not "high speed". the breakfast was good. the coffee was good. the location was good - close to state street and the coast.

We only stay at The Eagle inn when we are in Santa Barbara. The location can't be beat, the staff goes way beyond what is required or expected, the breakfast is better than most (and we have stayed in hundreds of B&Bs in U.S., Canada, and Europe). We were so glad to be able to stay once again at The Eagle Inn.

The Eagle exceeded my expectations and I had a wonderful time!

The Eagle Inn is a nice place to stay, with a great location and good services. My girlfriend and I really like the loaner bikes and the location near the beach just a few blocks off Cabrillo and State St. It is close to West Beach and a short drive to State north of 101 where the shopping and nightlife is. There are some good restaurants on State South of 101 and on the Sterne's Wharf pier and on Cabrillo they are within walking distance. The Marina, Harbor Pier and Shoreline Restaurants are west and also within walking distance. The Bed linens are really nice and the beds are super comfy and usually I don't notice such things, but these are exceptionally comfortable. Its not super fancy but it is pretty affordable and quiet. There's no pool but we spend so much time enjoying SB that a nice place to rest is all we need.

I will be returning for another stay. We stayed for valentines Day and got the romantic package and our room was beautiful. I cant wait to go back.

I liked the place, very cute and fun...very good for a getaway but don't expect a large room or dining. The good thing is it is located right by the beach, downtown and tons of restaurants. I suggest to take the wine tour.

The room was beautiful, well appointed, and very clean. The front desk people were friendly and helpful. In contrast, the breakfast was very disappointing. They ran out of food and drinks before the posted close time and the person managing it was surly and unhelpful. The room was also too small but i think that was temporary while they renovated. That can be excused but there's no excuse for the surly service and non-existent food.

The Eagle Inn is our get-away for relaxation! We've been coming here two years. This get-away was celebrating our recent marriage!! The rooms have a comforting atmosphere. Beds, spa tub and fireplaces take you to a relaxed home away from home. We have always been impressed by everything that is considered to make your stay worthwhile. The beds have the most comfortable mattresses and softest sheets. The room decor and the welcoming basket prepared for you make you feel at home the minute you walk into the cottage type setting. The location could not have been set in a better place. You are only two blocks away from the beach and we just recently discovered one of the best restaurants to dine --The brewhouse right behind the Eagle Inn (two blocks away). Its worth your stay and you will always want to keep coming back!

Our room was so sweet and romantic and the service was great but we were dissapointed to see the minimal breakfast and it tasted less than ok.

First of all, the website pictures does not do it justice. Please do not let it fool you! We stayed in the Santa Barbara and it was just so not what I expected, it was better! And it was very private, romantic, and the weather was perfect! If you need anything the front desk is so friendly and there to assist you. If you want to be left alone they give that to you too!! They also let you take there beach bicycles out for a nice stroll in town. As long as you want which was also neat. I would recommend this place to anyone in a heart beat and I know I am definitely coming back. It was nice to take a couple of days to enjoy life. Oh and also their beds were very comfortable as well:) which is always a plus. Breakfast is served I'm the main building and they make a great quiche! Thank you Eagle Inn!!!! Again we will be back!

Very cute B&B in the heart of Santa Barbara's beach district. Super friendly staff, and the room was gorgeous (unfortunately my fiancée and I didn't get a chance to use the in-room hot tub). It's an older building, so we could hear the couple upstairs from us...ahem...well, take a guess. But that was expected. Their included breakfast is nothing fancy (especially the coffee).

If you like character in your hotel rooms, this is the place for you. Most places are converted motels, but this former apartment building has plenty of charm and is very quiet and relaxing. We liked that it was an easy walk to the beach, pier, or harbor. The breakfast is basic continental with muffins, bagels, cereal, fruit, yogurt, and a few other pasteries. The quiche wasn't ready at 7 am and was gone when we returned at 7:30 am. I highly recommend this for it's location and great rooms that are a big step above the converted motels.

More like a little boutique hotel. Lovely building, beautiful room. The service was wonderful. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The only reason I say the dining wasn't outstanding is because they are using a temporary dining room while doing a little remodeling. This didn't disrupt the stay at all. I'd definitely stay here again. For a nice romantic Italian dinner, try Emilio's, within walking distance and it was lovely.

We have stayed at The Eagle Inn before. It's a few minutes away walking distance to the Harbor and Marina and the Beach. If you can afford it, the best rooms are the Cottages. We recently stayed in the King Suite with Hot Tub and Balcony. We chose this room because it had air conditioning (some of their rooms do not, so if that's important to you, inquire when you make the reservation.) The balcony had a table and two chairs and it has literally right next to a tree so you felt like you were in a treehouse! The housekeeping is always excellent. The front desk staff is always friendly no matter what time it is. They are currently doing some light remodeling around the lobby area and the kitchen area, but we did not notice any noise while we were there. The pictures on their website of their rooms do match the rooms. The room also came with a hairdryer, mini fridge, and safe. I would stay here again!

We stayed for two nights and wish we would have spent more time in the room, it was amazing! Stayed in the Santa Barbara cottage and was very impressed with the room, the Eagle Inn is in great location, about a block away from the beach, and the staff was awesome. They went above and beyond. I told them it was my fiance's birthday, and they put a Birthday card in the room, and rose petals around the whirlpool in the room, things they didn't have to do that were a great bonus. Love this place, we will definitely return!!!

I love staying here. My only suggestion is to supply more hot items for breakfast. Love the rooms, atmosphere, and service! You all do a great job!!!!

Get the room with the fireplace- so romantic! Continental breakfast was so-so -make sure you get there early otherwise you won't get anything. I got there at 9am and most of the hot entrees were gone; I was left with bagels (no cream cheese :() and cold cereal. Everyone is very nice at the Inn- the room alone makes it worth it.

The egg dish and fresh fruit at breakfast was a nice surprise. Would have liked whole grain bread and plain yogurt choices. Parking lot was another plus. We would book again.

Awesome place. We got the larger room with whirlpool, fireplace and balcony. Nice touches include an early check-in (3pm), chocolate chip cookies upon check-in, good/filling breakfast, red rose petals around the rim of the whirlpool tub, wine glasses filled with chocolates, etc. I'm a guy and even I found it somewhat romantic. My wife was in heaven.

My wife and I spent 6 nights at the Eagle Inn. We were very surprised to find that we had a kitchenette as part of our room rate. The room was very clean and quiet. Furnishings were fine. The breakfast was just OK. The Inn is in a great location - walking distance to the beach and easy access to resaurants and shopping on State Street.

Large rooms, beautiful large bathtubs, very romantic, peaceful.

The San Miguel room was delightful, the room was clean, and the perfect for our little get away. We rented out bikes to bike around town, and it's very close to our cottage. The room did not feel like a hotel room at all, we had our own little cottage. The bed felt so comfortable, and the little kitchen made the room feel so much cozier. Definitely a charming little cottage as a getaway spot in Santa Barbara

Over all our stay was great. Except for the issue I had with wifi connection. I was only able to connect the first night. The following day, I was not able to connect anymore and there was not a helpful reply from the frontdesk for a solution. The answer was just, "I don't know.". The Santa Cruz cottage was clean and roomy for myself and my 2 small kids. We enjoyed the whirlpool and liked the small kitchen and receiving area.

Great place, wonderful location, CLEAN, but the breakfast made the Holiday Inn look welcoming. We stayed in one of their cottages, Santa Cruz?, it was modern and romantic. The lawn was so nice I had to tug at the grass to make sure it was real!

My husband and I were very impressed from the moment we pulled up. The location is ideal, in a quiet neighborhood just a few blocks from the beach. The cozy room was beautifully decorated and the jacuzzi tub was such a delightful treat! We have already recommended the Eagle Inn to family and friends, and hope to stay there again in the future.

We stayed here 3 days for our honeymoon. The service was wonderful and the staff was very pleasant. The room was beautiful and the bed was very comfortable. They had bikes we could use to ride around town and had a number of DVDs that we could use during our stay. We noted that everywhere we turned the Inn was very clean and comfortable. Everything about our stay was perfect!! We definitely will be back in the future!!

My husband and I stayed here for one night for a quick weekend getaway from Los Angeles, and had a very relaxing experience. It was a cold, stormy weekend and we really wanted a room with a fireplace and whirlpool tub. We stayed in the San Miguel room, which was actually in a standalone duplex, separate from the main building. Apparently they acquired the property recently and it didn't have the historic charm of the main building. The room decor was a little cheesy, looked a bit early 90s. And we couldn't figure out how to work the heater, but with the fireplace and after running the bath, the room was toasty in about an hour (it was a really cold night). The room was really large - the bed (very comfortable!), the tub and the fireplace were all in the main room, with the closet in an offshooting hallway leading to the bathroom with a shower. A separate room led to a small kitchenette with a fridge, sink and cupboard. This would be a nice place to stay for an extended Santa Barbara visit. My husband and I would definitely come back for another stay, though in the main building as it had a very cool 1930s vibe. The breakfast was disappointing as it was nothing more than your typical motel continental breakfast. The Eagle Inn really shouldn't advertise itself as a B&B with this kind of breakfast. But happy with the price for the value and would definitely stay here again in the off season.

The Eagle Inn is a great buy. We stayed in the Santa Catalina room, which exceeded our expectations. The bathrooms were all upgraded and contained all the amenities. Shopping and restaurants are within walking distance on State Street. I would definitely stay here again!

We've stayed here three times and will probably return again. The staff are all friendly and helpful especially with those who aren't familiar with the area. It's a few blocks from the beach and close to everything we do in Santa Barbara.

We'll go back to Eagle Inn for our shorter trips to Santa Barbara. It's cute, clean and convenient. For a mid-range B&B, it's perfect.
