Monte Cristo
Now under new management, this European style bed and breakfast is a comfortable and relaxed B&B located at the junction of three great neighborhoods, Presidio Heights, Pacific Heights, and Laurel Heights.
The Monte Cristo has been a part of San Francisco since 1875. It was originally built as a saloon and hotel. Its colorful history includes serving as a bordello, a refuge after the 1906 earthquake and a speakeasy. It was renamed The Presidio Ridge in the early 1900s to distance itself from the stigma of earlier years.
The Monte Cristo is conveniently located near the elegantly restored Victorian shops, Zagat-rated restaurants and antique stores on Sacramento Street. It's within walking distance to shopping on Union Street and Fillmore Street.
