    Monte Cristo Inn, the private & romantic bed and breakfast hotel located in the exclusive and popular Pacific Heights neighborhood of San Francisco, offers its guests comfort, privacy, and great value. Rooms are highlighted by authentic antiques, persian rugs, hardwood floors, flat screen cable tv, complimentary breakfast, complimentary wifi throughout the property. A computer/email kiosk is available for guests who travel light. And if the walls of the Monte Cristo could talk, what stories they could tell, for this remarkable building has been a part of San Francisco since 1875. Originally built as a bordello and saloon. In the 1920s, it served as a speakeasy. When the great fire swept the city after the 1906 earthquake, homes were put to the torch on Van Ness Avenue to create a firebreak, and the Saloon not only survived, it served as a refuge for the newly post-quake homeless. The Inn is perhaps the oldest original hospitality structure in San Francisco, this European-style Inn is convenient to the entire city and is at the junction of three great neighborhoods, Presidio Heights, Pacific Heights, and Laurel Heights. It is in one of the oldest and best neighborhoods in San Francisco. It is two blocks to the elegantly restored Victorian shops, Vogue theatre, Zagat-rated restaurants and antique stores on Sacramento Street. It's within walking distance to shopping on Union Street and Fillmore Street.

    We have stayed at the Monte Cristo three times over the last two years and have never been disappointed. The staff is friendly and professional. If we need anything they are right there to help. The breakfast is the best ever for a continental style. They will even cook eggs if you would like. We will stay there again and again.

    I was very pleased with our stay at Monte Cristo Bed & Breakfast! The ambiance is very charming and the staff is very friendly. I thought the location in the city where you find Monte Cristo is perfect as well. So yes, I would recommend Monte Cristo to anyone looking for a nice stay in SF !

    Beautiful hidden gem is San Francisco. Jack and Carl couldn't have been any nicer! When you walk in, you feel as if you entered a time warp that led you to the the early 1900's. The furniture to the wall paper to the fixtures are beautiful. The wooden staircase that leads you upstairs creaks perfectly to lend to the ambience of the place. Our room " The Red Room # 12 " was cozy, comfy and inviting. My girlfriend and I will definitely be staying there again in the future.

    The Monte Cristo is in a centeral location and is a tremendous value. The staff was welcoming. The bed was comfortable and the room was larger thn expected. I would stay again!
