The cost per night is high...We stayed in Unit #15...the shower had very little water pressure...there was no desk where I could set up my computer and monitor my e-mails and work. The room is small, and I would recommend removing a chair and placing a desk and chair in its place.

My wife and I took our second trip to Napa Valley and once again stayed at the Wine Country Inn. The first thing you always notice is how friendly the staff is and you immediately feel right at home. Besides the grounds and rooms being absolutely gorgeous there are many benefits to take advantage of during your stay such as an amazing breakfast with a ton of options, daily wine tasting and delicious snacks in the early evening, partnerships with Wineries for complimentary tastings, and a nightly shuttle service to the restaurants in St. Helena. One way to show how the staff goes above and beyond is to share a brief story. My wife and I had bought a couple bottles of wine to take home and rather than pay for shipping we knew if we packed them well enough we would have no trouble. This left me in need of bubble wrap. When I asked at the front desk where the best place to buy some is they told me not to worry about it and found me a large roll of bubble wrap I could use. Overall my wife and I had a magical trip and I know my parents, who were first timers to the Wine Country Inn, loved their time too. If you are coming to Napa Valley, go to St. Helena and stay in the Wine Country Inn. I can't wait to go back.

This Inn has a wonderful B&B feel, but yet you still get the privacy and amenities of a big hotel. The Inn has about 30 rooms, and I think they are all quite different. There are several rooms in the main building, but the rest of the rooms are essentially individual cabins. We had room 23, which had a nice little patio area and a private hot tub. It was fantastic, but I think the room just down the hill from us could be even better. I should have looked to see what room number that was for you all reading this review. The Inn does a nice breakfast each morning in the main building, and they do a free wine/cheese tasting each evening. The inn also has a lovely pool and cabana area for outside massages. There was some minor construction near the pool during our stay, so they did massages on the other side of the hotel in a cabana on what must also be hotel property. It was amazing and so relaxing to do it in that spot. I'd have a hard time imagining it is as peaceful and private in the usual spot near the pool. Long story short, this hotel was perfect for us. Also, St. Helena is a great central location for visiting many of the wineries in the Napa Valley. Room Tip: Splurge for one of the rooms with an outdoor patio overlooking the vineyard and a hot tub.

Great weekend away with a girl friend visiting from the east coast! Things we loved: breakfast, complimentary wine tasting and appetizers, complimentary dinner shuttle service, the cozy, well appointed room, and the attentive service of the front desk. Everyone was so nice!

We appreciated the extra service provided by the friendly staff, which included making dinner reservations for us, providing transport to restaurants and the great wine Inn-cursion wine tasking.

WCI is a warm, comfortable home-base for exploring the Napa Valley. Staff is fantastic -- friendly, helpful, cheerful. Breakfast is always a treat: lots of choices, all delicious. The evening dinner shuttle is a huge advantage, serving most of St Helena's fine-dining restaurants, allowing one to forget about driving and enjoy the wines of Napa. Rooms are smallish but comfy. We've been staying here whenever we visit the valley, ever since 1979, and we've never been disappointed.

My wife and I visited Napa Valley for several days of wine tasting and relaxing the third week of September. We have stayed numerous times in throughout the valley and absolutely love the area. While it has been several years since our last visit and realizing it is peak season there, I was totally unsatisfied about the overall cost of the accommodations given the level of comfort and state of our room, the food served and Concierge. The building was noisy, we could hear fellow guest walking over our heads and in the hallway. Furthermore, the bed was creaky, not very comfortable and the pillows were flat. It took a while to get hot water in the bathroom and the room generally was not at the level expected given the money spent. The jacuzzi attached to our room only worked partially and we could never get the water very hot. The breakfast provided in the morning was okay but pales in comparison to other breakfasts we've had at other inns. The signature egg dish was pretty old looking by the time we ate breakfast at 9 am on both days. There was not much selection of fruit and coffee was often unavailable. Finally in the breakfast area, I had two run-ins with an attendant who didn't appreciate me helping myself to silverware and other things for the table. Final issue was a dubious restaurant reservation. I had asked the Concierge to assist me in getting reservations for dinner at several spots in Napa Valley. While the first reservation she made was good at Redd on Tuesday night, the second reservation she made on Wednesday night was worthless as the restaurant was closed. Not sure how she got a reservation for a closed restaurant. Once again, I realize this is peak season and most room rates are high. But given the overall experience and accommodations, I will not stay here again and look elsewhere.

Unfortunately, we had only one night in wine country and I am so happy that we decided to stay at The Wine Country Inn! The staff are very helpful and friendly. We loved the complimentary shuttle to restaurants in the area too! The property is absolutely beautiful. Overall great experience.

We had a beautiful room and looked forward to a creative breakfast each morning. The day that followed was up to your imagination but each and every winery had something unique to offer. Each afternoon culminated in speciallly prepared treats with the featured winery of the day. The evening was again an excitement to behold and left to your own devices. We will be back!

We enjoyed our stay here. The grounds and views are amazing and the location was close to everything (driving not walking), yet out of the way. The breakfast provided was nice- continental plus a hot egg choice, waffles and a bloody mary bar (: the rooms are definitely country...in an 80's way. Nice smaller pool that was never crowded while we were there. Good value overall

I wasn't sure what to expect going to Napa Valley the first time. It is a wonderful part of the world and this bed and breakfast was a nice place to stay as a base for wine tasting in the area. We booked room 16, the smallest of the inn due to availability - it is quite small for two adults (bed too especially if you have a tall husband as myself) but overall it was ok. The breakfast is really good and I would suggest to the owners to be able to order sandwiches for dinner or something as they have a beautiful patio and would be nice to take advantage of it for a quiet lunch or dinner (downtown is a bit far away). Complimentary wine tasting every night is really nice, I also reccomend their Wine Inncursion, worth every penny and Marty is a great tour guide!
5 on August 15, 2014
We were expecting a room at a bed and breakfast in wine country, but had a beautiful cottage all to ourselves for our honeymoon. This inn is fantastic- the views, the breakfast, the cottage with a window seat and fireplace. We sat in the room for two hours because we did not want to check out. Got a great recommendation for dinner at a local restaurant and a local vineyard. We can't wait to come back for a longer stay.
3.2 on August 14, 2014
Our room and view were very lovely and we needed to be near St. Helena so our options were fewer than I had expected. We had stayed twice in Yountville last year and the prices were much more reasonable. The Inn is very nice and has some nice amenities, but we still think it was overpriced.
5 on July 30, 2014
This was our first trip to Napa area and this place made my holiday worth every penny. We stayed in the King Fireplace Jetted Tub.Balcony view. If anyone is interested in a great view while having a bath, this is the room. I love the vast tub.and everything about this place was pleasant.

This was our 4th visit at the Wine Country Inn. As always, the visit was perfect. The inn itself is kept immaculate, the grounds and physical space are absolutely lovely and low key. All the staff and management are extremely friendly, helpful and always available. The breakfast and afternoon wine tasting and hors d'oeuvres are very tasty, health and ample. The inn is always wiling to try and accommodate special requests. The pool and hot tub area is always clean and the surrounding landscape make for a very relaxing ambiance to swim, sun and relaxes. We can't wait until our next visit.

Beautiful view. Wonderful hosts. Great staff. Even though we showed up extremely early during the day (and check-in wasn't until 3), they welcomed us and helped us plan our day. Our room (obviously) wasn't ready, but when we came back - what a delight. Very homey and our balcony was just an added bonus. Looked forward to breakfast - the food was fantastic.

Stayed at the Wine Country Inn for a second time. Can't say enough about the impeccable service of this charming inn. We stayed in a cottage, which is huge, and updated with an incredible bathroom area. The private patio is right on the vineyard. Every day they cook up breakfast and appetizers in the afternoon, and truly want to go out of their way to give you the best stay in napa imaginable. It's the only place I'd stay in Napa.
5 on July 16, 2014
Originally booked into their smallest room, which was still lovely, but experienced their superior service when our A/C went down and they immediately upgraded us to an absolutely gorgeous room with fireplace and balcony overlooking the vineyards! Loved the free shuttle, pool and hot tub and afternoon apps and wine tasting! But what stood out was the friendliness and helpfulness of all staff with great dinner recommendations, scrumptious breakfast and just great customer service! Location is perfect, close to all vineyards. In short, would highly recommend and hope to return some day for a longer stay!

I had a lovely stay at the Wine Country Inn. I enjoyed my own private patio and garden, as well as a fireplace in my room. The staff was incredibly accommodating and helpful at every opportunity, the daily breakfast was terrific, and the nightly vineyard tasting in the common room a pleasure every day. I look forward to my next visit.
5 on July 14, 2014
I would highly recommend the Wine Country Inn. The setting is just so beautiful and quiet. My room looked out directly onto several vineyards and the mountains were just off in the distance. Most mornings you would see the fog rolling out into the distance. The Inn's gardens were beautiful and so well maintained and the pool was just a short walk from my room. Since I work in the property management sector I can attest to the professionalism of the staff ... everyone was so helpful and friendly. I can honestly say there is not a single thing I would change about the place. I will certainly be back.

We spent the 4th of July weekend at Wine Country Inn. What a nice place. The rooms and beds were so comfortable. The Breakfast was so good! and wine with snacks in the evening. And don't forget that they offer a complimentary van trip to and from local destinations. We booked a tasting tour thru them and all our dinner reservations. When you factor all this into the room price.... WHAT A GREAT DEAL!

5 on July 06, 2014
Everything about our stay was excellent. The room was clean/relaxing/comfortable, the view was perfect, breakfast/happy hour were great and the service was second to none. I usually travel 40% of the time for work. As a result, I've become somewhat of a hotel snob. I can honestly say The Wine Country Inn exceeded every expectation I had. The wine tour was very informative and fun and the front desk assistance in shipping my wine made my life easy. I look forward to my next trip.

The Wine Country Inn was about as an enjoyable low-key stay as I can remember. It isn't luxurious but it is comfortable and fun. The staff were extremely amiable and helpful. The breakfast was outstanding and the property lovely. The room was comfortably appointed and a nice place to relax after a day of wine tasting and shopping. Recommended.

I recently stayed at the Wine Country Inn with a friend while traveling to the Napa Valley/CA for the first time. We loved it! All of the staff were so friendly and helpful and had great recommendations for restaurants and activities. We'd like to especially thank Tim for his great service, expertise, and for giving us a bit more "elbow room" with our upgrade to a cottage. If you are traveling to the Napa Valley, you MUST stay at the Wine Country Inn!

Our favorite things about the Wine Country Inn & Suites was the beautiful grounds. The gardens were lovely and there was a great patio overlooking the gardens and the vineyard. The pool area completed the outdoor amenities. We also had a lovely private balcony overlooking the grounds and the scenic hillside beyond..

Beautiful grounds. Great service. A bit pricey for most folks, but worth a visit every now and then. Great location. Breakfast wasn't as good as my last stay, but it is still well above average. They changed "chefs" and that might explain the drop-off. The wine tasting passport they offer provides complimentary tastings at several Napa Valley wineries. With most wineries charging $20 per tasting now, the passport really has some value. I would stay here again, I just wish it were a bit cheaper.

We enjoyed a three night stay at the Wine Country Inn during a driving trip in Northern California. The Inn was a great place to stay as the staff was incredibly helpful, the wine tour offered (which we took advantage of) was a relaxing way to visit several boutique wineries, the shuttle to area restaurants resolved the issue of parking (and potential for too much wine with dinner). The breakfast offerings were incredible and the afternoon wine tasting each day was not to be missed. Recommend The Wine Country Inn - highly!!

This inn is in a prime location from which to explore the Napa Valley. The view is lovely. The room was comfortable but for what they can charge because of location, the rooms really should be updated a bit. It just seemed a little tired. Breakfast was very good, though.

We will definitely return to this inn next time we are in St. Helena!

We spent just a couple of days at the Inn and loved the facilities and the people who operate them. Meals at Meadowood and the Conservatory added up to a remarkable two days to celebrate a birthday and Mother's Day. We were in 28 - airy and roomy. We will return!!

My husband and I stayed over a weekend and it was my first visit to the Napa Valley. The Inn is gorgeous. It's quiet, the setting is breathtaking, and the grounds are beautifully maintained. The friendliness of the staff is unlike any I've ever encountered. Excellent restaurant recommendations, free shuttle service into town, we took advantage of their wine "Inn-cursion" service, and it was all so great. The breakfasts were delicious and their afternoon wine and snacks were a fun time for socializing with the Inn Keeper, wine expert, and other guests. All of the guests were very friendly. Very clean. Lovely place, I would definitely recommend and I would definitely return.

Returned to Napa after many stays in Sonoma. Wine Country Inn is perfectly situated just north of St Helena. Did not use shuttle to town/restaurants, but that was a nice addition. Do wish they would add TVs to the rooms, but will probably return again, even without...

My husband and I had a great time at the inn. The staff were amazing. Only a couple of things could have made the stay perfect: the bed we had in #20 was uncomfortable. It was very hard. I'd recommend keeping some egg foams available for guests who would like a softer bed. The dual shower-heads was a great idea but not great in terms of water-pressure. Not sure what can be done about that. The staff made the visit absolutely worthwhile. I've never met a nicer group.

This is a beautiful B&B set in a hill overlooking a vineyard; truly a beautiful setting. We were granted early check-in on the first day as if it were a matter of coarse, yet we knew housekeeping had just finished the room. The staff is very friendly and leaves you with a sense of having made friends by the time you checkout; they are all very engaging. We had an extraordinary time on a wine tour with Tracy (highly recommend you request her when making reservations) where she took us to some very small family owned premium wineries; she is very knowledgeable and a real joy; we made quick friendships with her. The Wine Country Inn is now a permanent place for future week and weekend getaways. (We were here the week before Easter 2014, so there were few crowds, but I can imagine it gets pretty crazy during "season". Still, the cottages are perfect places to hide out from the crowd when necessary.)

I really enjoyed my stay at the Wine Country Inn! The location is perfect--St. Helena is just beautiful, and there are so many wineries and restaurants close by. The staff was very helpful in providing recommendations for places to visit while we were there, and the owner in particular seemed very happy to talk with us. The rooms are all nice and peaceful. And the breakfast every morning is great. The white wine poached pears are to die for. When I go back to Napa Valley, I'm definitely staying here again. I highly recommend it.

My friend and I wanted a rustic, secluded, and a room with a beautiful view in the Napa region. I loved waking up to sun streaming in through our patio doors, and being able to see the sun rise over the vineyards that were literally 5 feet away from our room. The service was incredible, the hotel offered a wine tour that we found just wonderful, and the other guests we met were beyond nice. However, note that this is St Helena and is about 30 minutes away from Napa where we had dinner reservations (oops)! Without a car it was hard to get anywhere and we ended up getting a very expensive cab to and from the restaurant because the hotel did not have a shuttle during the weekdays on the off season. Other than that, very pleased with my stay!
2.8 on March 07, 2014
Very nice B(ed) but the B(breakfast) could have been better. Stayed 4 nights; breakfast each morning was basically some variation of a egg casserole, cereal, yogurt, fruit, bagels and coffee. For the price of this place we expected eggs to order and some kind of breakfast meat (bacon, ham, sausage, etc). The outside seating areas are very nice but it would have been nice to have some heat during the cool mornings and evenings (fire pit or propane heaters). Evening hors d'oeuvres (served with wine) were excellent.

I simply cannot say enough good things about this property! I have worked in the hotel industry for a number of years, and as a result have stayed at a number of extremely high end and well known hotels. This rivals them all. From the smallest room to the biggest cottage, the staff at this hotel are there to make sure that your stay is comfortable and relaxing. Waking up to the views over neighboring wineries is a great way to start the day, as is Chef Ryan's amazing breakfast. Located perfectly just north of St. Helena, there are literally dozens of wineries nearby. Then you can return to the hotel for the wine reception with more of Chef Ryan's creations. My only regret is that we didn't have one extra day (or at least a rain free one) to enjoy the heated pool and hot tub. I guess we will just have to stay here again! - Amber W.

The wine country inn was a really cute and the area around was beautiful. The staff at the inn were really nice and helpful. They have a shuttle service for rides to restaurants and vineyards (I think) around the area, which makes going out extremely convenient (you can drink wine in wine country without worrying about driving). The room itself was really cosy and romantic with a fire place (which we used a lot since we were there in december). The room had a lot of character and we really enjoyed the room. The (free) breakfast every morning and the (free) wine, cheese and snacks every evening was a nice plus. There might be other B&B in the area which are cheaper than Wine Country Inn, but if price is not a major issue, wine country inn is an excellent place to get away to.

We stayed 3 nights over New Year's. First off, the Wine Country Inn doesn't inflate their prices for the holiday, so our room was really affordable. The Inn is adorable and has views of the neighboring vineyards. There is a great sense of community among the guests and we met several people while there. The rooms are comfortable, adorable and clean. I highly recommend Wine Country Inn.

My husband and I made our first trip to Wine Country and felt so lucky to have stumbled upon the Wine Country Inn. We stayed in one of the cottages and it was a terrific experience. The view over the vineyard, the fireplace, and the extraordinary bathroom with the made it so we barely wanted to leave the room. We did the wine tour offered by the Inn and could not have been more pleased. It was wonderful touring the valley with Tracey, our knowledgeable and friendly driver. The shuttle to the local restaurants was great, particularly since the driver Janelle would offer great menu suggestions for each restaurant. We also took advantage of the Inn's wonderful breakfast and the nightly wine and appetizers. The friendly staff made the place seem like home and it was nice to chat with the other guests from all over about their experiences. We will look forward to returning!

If you're looking for a quiet romantic getaway, this is it! Close enough to all of the wineries; yet secluded enough for quiet romance. We signed up the Inn's Inn-Cursion -- a day trip which shuttles customers to local wineries. Tracy was our guide and she shuttled us and another couple around for the day. She was fabulous! This was our first trip to the Napa Valley region. We will definitely return to the Wine Country Inn!

Upon entering we were warmly greeted and shown to our room which was beautiful and cozy. The room is well appointed and especially clean. We were invited to join other patrons at 4:30 for an appetizer and wine sampling. Ryan the chef prepared a wonderful selection of hors d'oeuvre and the Scott Harvey winery provided a wonderful selection of whites and reds. The inn invited us to tour the grounds and photograph (our passion) to our hearts content. The complimentary shuttle to and from dinner was a very nice surprise and made getting around trouble free - as a vacation should be. All in all one of the finest stays we have enjoyed in our 25 years of marriage. We will be booking another trip very soon to the Wine Country Inn!

We enjoyed our recent stay at the Wine Country Inn. Carol greeted us warmly and made many wonderful recommendations for dining. Additionally, she helped us in making a reservation at the Duckhorn winery. Our room, though spacious and quiet, was outdated. I believe it was #14? If we were staying in the future, we would definitely prefer a king size bed, hardwood floors. We stayed here on the recommendation of friends who travel to Napa often. We loved the location, and convenient shuttle in the evenings. Breakfasts, coffee were wonderful! The honor fridge was a nice treat as well. The wine and appy hour was a lovely touch. Janelle, our shuttle driver was very sweet and helpful in the evenings when we dined at local restaurants. In the future, I think that the value will receive a higher rating if we are fortunate enough to reserve a different, more modern and updated room.

Stayed with a friend for 3 nights and it was fabulous! The room was very comfortable with great views, the breakfasts were very satisfying and provided ample choices for every palate, the evening wine and appetizers were a great way to mingle with other guests, staff and winery representatives and the staff at the inn were superb! Special thanks to our food guide and shuttle driver, Janelle, who had the best suggestions and referrals; Tracy, our wine your expert was fun and informative; chef Ryan was great as was Tim who ensured everyone was happy, informed, comfortable and well attended! Everyone from the staff at check-in and -out, cleaning staff and grounds workers were all pleasant, congenial and pleasant (sorry I can't remember all your names). I highly recommend the Wine Country Inn to everyone who wants to visit the area and leave your cares behind...they'll even take care of the driving!! Marilyn

Our stay at the Wine Country Inn was very enjoyable. It couldn't have been any better. The location was perfect and with the option of the free shuttle, it was easy to get into town. Do take the private wine excursion. This is a great way to see the vineyards safely.

No better place to stay in the Napa valley. Our hosts are wonderful, the location is breath taking and the service outstanding. One of our favorite places to stay. Once you stay here you will never stay anywhere else in the valley!

We enjoyed the warm welcoming and continued to enjoy the great service during our two night stay. Although a little past its prime in October, the flowers on the grounds were still gorgeous. We appreciated the restaurant taxi service which allowed us to fully enjoy the wine. Breakfast was quite good although not exceptional if you could not eat eggs. The room with the balcony was quite comfortable and spacious. The rate was more than we are used to but well worth it. We would go again in a heartbeat!

We loved our stay at the Wine Country Inn! Its location is fantastic – close to vineyards and restaurants. The grounds are stunning and make for enjoyable morning walks with lovely photo (and Instagram!) opportunities. The morning breakfast is delicious, and I’m still munching on the homemade granola they leave on your bed as a welcome. Speaking of the rooms – we stayed in Room 12 and it was perfect and quaint. The bed was comfortable and we loved looking out over the vineyard from our private balcony. All of the staff we encountered were extremely helpful. The restaurant shuttle service was one of our favorite perks! They were prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable about all the dining options – and they provided some really great menu item recommendations. We spent one day with the Wine Inn-Cursion and one day touring vineyards on our own – both were a lot of fun. Ask the staff for advice for vineyards to visit, and they will send you with a coupon or their card which usually works for a free or discounted tasting. We can’t wait to go back!

The Wine County Inn offered great accommodations with wonderful views, healthy delicious meals and snacks and fun wine tastings on the property. The staff was friendly and helpful in planning events both at the inn and surrounding Napa, St. Helena. This Inn paid attention to detail to make your stay comfortable and stress free. We will return and have already recommended this Inn to our friends.

My husband and I spent a week at the Wine Country Inn, September 20-26. Always a little skeptical when you see the absolutely beautiful pictures on line, the reality far exceeds the photos. The staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful. Breakfast every morning was a taste adventure, I have a collection of recipes cards that I brought home. We took advantage of all the perks; afternoon wine tastings, Inn-Cursions, the evening dinner taxi and the couples massage overlooking the vineyard. I think what speaks volumes about the Inn was the number of people we met that were return customers. After spending the week, I can see why they all came back. We are already planning our return visit to the Wine Country Inn.

We stayed one night at the Wine Country Inn and would highly recommend it. We enjoyed their evening wine tasting that included delicious home made appetizers and had a great buffet breakfast that had interesting, unexpected choices such as zucchini waffles. Even though we did not use this service, I thought it was great that they provided transportation to local restaurants.

As a returning guest my expectations were already high based on my first stay at the Wine Country Inn. How could I know the second visit would be better! From the warm hello as we registered until the last wave goodbye, everything was exceptional. My husband mentioned we had enjoyed a special vegetable juice on our last visit and the next morning the chef had prepared the juice. We had friends visit us and entertained on one of the lovely outdoor patios and the staff was happy to assist with wine glasses and snack plates. Our room in the Hastings House was wonderful and had a magnificent view of the vineyard and hills beyond with morning sun and a private balcony. Our friends, staying at other locations in Napa were so envious. We will be back and so will they!

The staff and amenities were great! The inn-cursion is a must do event and you won't need another wine tasting trip while you're there. Marty was terrific and knew just where the great vintners were. Chef Paul made sure we were well fed each morning before heading out and made delicious appetizers for the evening wine tasting. Thanks to all for helping us celebrate. Mason, OH 2013

I would highly recommend Wine Country Inn. The staff was very friendly, the Inn was very clean. Rooms are very comfortable and well appointed, and have magnificent views. The grounds are manicured beautifully but in a way that the environment feels warm and inviting--not stuffy at all. The atmosphere of the Inn makes you feel like being wrapped in a warm blanket! Loved it--definitely going back!!

My husband and I have stayed at the Wine Country Inn numerous times. We live in the Midwest and look forward to coming back to wine country each year. The Inn is comfortable, clean, wonderful staff and the breakfast each morning is fantastic and a treat. Each evening the Inn has a different winery come in for a tasting and appetizers. It gives us the opportunity to learn about new vineyards and chat with other guests. wW love this place!

Not what we expected.Room # two was almost four hundred dollars with tax and is worth half that price at most.Room did not even have a t.v.The breakfast was below average. There are many places we have stayed in the wine country for the same price or a little more that have better accomodations.
4.6 on August 23, 2013
The staff was warm, responsive and very friendly. The other guests were friendly and the atmosphere welcoming and unpretentious. Our room was comfortable and clean, we were in a suite which was private, quiet and bordered an olive grove and vineyard. I would recommend that you upgrade to a suite or cottage as the regular rooms are in the main house which can be noisy (our traveling companions stayed in the lodge). The chef was amazing, breakfasts were creative and there was plenty of variety. Afternoon wine tastings were enjoyable with delicious pairings. We will definitely return. The inncursion was great, the guide took us to smaller wineries off the tourism Path where Mae were able to really enjoy getting to know the people as well as taste some wonderful wines.

My (now) wife and I stayed at the Wine Country Inn during a weekend we invited a bunch of friends up to celebrate our wedding. Our stay there was fabulous. They offer complimentary upgrades to all customers if a better room is available when you arrive to check in at the hotel, and offer a 15% discount to all returning customers. Fabulous! In addition, the breakfasts they serve in the morning are hearty, wholesome, nutritious, and taste GREAT! The setting is beautiful and the pool is a nice added touch. Most of all, service is impeccable! We bothered the front desk several times - to make taxi bookings, for the complimentary shuttle, and a bunch of other little nick nacks and they were always smiling and willing to help. This is a great place to stay and we will certainly be back.

We are stayed here for 3 nights: July 3-6. Everything about the Wine Country Inn was perfect...except the shower but I will get to that. First, Tim, the hotel manager is fantastic. He's warm, friendly, informative and ever present. Tim was available from 8 AM to 7 PM to answer questions and make us feel welcome. Our room was called a cottage but it was so much more. It was huge: large sitting area, kitchen, private deck and a beautiful enormous bathroom with a sunken tub and large large walk-in shower. Our only problem with our entire stay was that the shower water was way too hot. Tim resolved the problem but then it was way too cold. By the last day it was better but not quite right. Tim felt bad and took more than a fair amount off of our bill to make up for it. I told him not to but he insisted. Anyway, the breakfast was gourmet and plentiful, the PM wine tasting with appetizers was amazing. Everything so delicious. Not just cheese and crackers either. Great dips, hot and cold items and lots of complimentary wines. The inn has a great swimming pool, beautiful hot tub and a lovely setting next to a vineyard. This is such a wonderful place. We can't wait to come back.

This was my third visit to the Inn. I brought my Mom and daughter this time, so they could experience the grandeur of Napa Valley. They absoulutely loved the Wine Country Inn. Everything about it was amazing, the room, the grounds, the breakfast feast, the wine tasting hour, the staff. The highlight of our stay was the wine inn-cursion with Tracey as our guide. So informative, so fun. We had a blast!

We recently spent 3 nights at the Wine Country Inn. The room was much bigger than expected. Very clean!! Super comfortable bed. Nightly wine and snacks was an added bonus. It gives one a chance to meet fellow guests if one wishes to do so. The breakfast was nice. Loved the whole wheat waffles. The pool came in handy! But best of all was the view from our balcony. It really made our stay! one afternoon, tired of eating in restaurants, we picked up a picnic lunch to enjoy on our balcony - a memorable experience.

We found Wine Country Inn in Fodor's Northern California travel guide. Good choice. The room, grounds, pool, afternoon wine tasting, balcony, shuttle service to town, Chef's breakfast, etc.....were all wonderful. Innkeeper Jim, manager Tim, desk Carol and shuttle service driver Janelle (a piece of work) catered to our needs and were all very helpful and pleasant. Truly reminded us of Tuscany West. Great place and would return in a heartbeat.

My husband and I could not have been any happier with our stay at The Wine Country Inn. Deneise and everyone else was so pleasant and helpful. They provided us with information on where to go for wine tasting and for excellent meals. The shuttle to dinner was also great as it allowed us to have a drink or two without worrying about a DWI. The Inn was quiet and a great place to go back to after wandering through Napa Valley. We had the opportunity to meet other guests during the afternoon wine and cheese tasting and then go relax at the pool which provided a beautiful view of the vineyards. Our stay could not have been better and I would recommend it to anyone.

Beautiful property - well maintained and cared for. The small touches really shows the love of this property and adds to the overall experience. The food was delicious and the Inn provided receipe cards for the guests! We are excited to try a few new dishes at home with family, along with our wine of course. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. They were so accommodating! We took advantage of the shuttle for dinner at night and every driver was personable, friendly, and had great tips. We were sad to leave!

We loved the Wine Country Inn and will definitely return!!! We landed at the Inn after a week of driving up the CA coast and felt like we were returning home to family to relax and unwind. Staff were very welcoming and encouraged guests to share and get to know each other in the large common area for breakfast and wine from local vineyards and appetizers in the afternoon where everyone shared their experiences. We took advantage of the Winecursion with Tracy and another couple. She carefully selected the vineyards we visited, based on our tastes and balanced great tastings with wonderful opportunities to see and learn. Janelle drove us to dinner and provided great tips and menu suggestions. Every detail is carefully thought out from shipping your wine purchases home to spa treatments. Highly recommend Wine Country Inn!!!! Worth the splurge!!!

By far one of the best hotels I have visited in a long time! so comfortable, I felt at home the minute I walked in the door. The evening appetisers and wine tasting is brilliant and the food is absolutely amazing. Lovely breakfast, yummy cookies in the evening. Nice pool and great surroundings! Couldnt have asked for a better place to stay. I would also highly recommend the wine incursion - we had Marty driving us who taught me more about wine that I have learnt over many wine tastings elsewhere. This was a really worthwhile trip. Also the shuttle service to local restaurants is genius- why dont more hotels do this?! Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel, couldnt find a single fault in it and will definitely be returning!

From the moment I made my initial enquiry until arriving and eventual check out, every dealing with Wine Country Inn was a pleasure. There is plenty of parking available and while the facility is bigger than I expected, separate buildings with lovely gardens in between allow you to feel it is a small inn experience. Room was spacious with double door opening to a paved seating area overlooking gardens, quite delightful. Excellent gardens across the property, a spacious pool area and we found the rooms quiet. Note that there is no TV, a joy at times. Free wifi worked very well. Car service to local restaurants is outstanding as are reception staff helpful in making tour and restaurant reservations. Come summer and weekends, I strongly suggest booking this ahead of your stay. Breakfasts were superb - hot & cold choice plus fresh fruits. Very good tea and coffee. This has been family run since 1975, they have got it right. Bonus is wine tastings on the premises each day 4.30pm-6pm. Overall top quality and value for what you pay.

We had a most wonderful stay. We took advantage of the shuttle service which allowed us to just relax and enjoy the evening. Our room was beautiful and the staff were fantastic. My only suggestion for improvement was for the breakfast. I was expecting a more gourmet breakfast that is served at the table like what I have had in other B & B's. The buffet was convenient but the food choices were a little disappointing.

We booked this bed and breakfast for our wedding anniversary. At first, we were a bit hesitant because it is pricey (the room rate is average, but the high tax threw us off a bit) and the website didn't have too many pictures. Well let me just say, we were very pleasantly surprised! The website photos do not do justice to this property. The room we stayed in (Room 18) was spacious and clean. The decor was contemporary and not like Grandma's. The best part of the room was the balcony overlooking the vineyard and surrounding hillside. So serene and peaceful. The jet tub was also nice. The food was fantastic. We went to both the breakfast and the wine and cheese hour. Besides that we spent a lot of time strolling through the property and just enjoying the scenery. We wished we had more time to book the on site spa services. Maybe next time because we will definitely be back.

We have stayed at the Wine Country Inn many times over the last 30 years and have never been disappointed. Wonderful rooms with spectacular views of the vineyards, incredible hospitality, and clean, beautiful rooms. The pool, although not huge, is adequate for lap swimming (maybe half a 25 meter pool), and heated nicely. The breakfast is scrumptious with yummy homemade granola. Although the roads are congested during the day, this inn is on the outskirts of town and very quiet and serene. We will continue to return to this wonderful little heaven.

We have traveled to many foreign lands, and almost all of the lower 48 States in the USA over many years. We have stayed in a myriad of settings and few can compare to the sense of serenity, peace, and enjoyable relaxing atmosphere that just envelopes one at the Wine Country Inn. This was, indeed, a very special time with the hope we will return as often as possible, to expand our experience even more to the great wineries, but especially, to enjoy the terrific restaurants that populate the entire Napa Valley, but for sure, those in St. Helena!

I booked our room a month in advance and was sent an email a couple of days later greeting us and asking if there was anything that the Inn could do to help with our trip. I took advantage of all of this as it was our first time taking a trip like this and staying at a bed and breakfast like this. When we had arrived, we were greeted with a friendly and warm welcome and were upgraded to one of the Cottages (Kate’s Cottage) which had a peaceful view overseeing the adjacent vineyard. The cottage itself has a very relaxing and romantic tone to it with a large bathroom with a 2 person hot tub in it. The next day started with a great breakfast that includes anything from a quiche dish with waffles to just fruits and yogurt. We were booked on the Inn-Cursion which is the Inn's version of wine tasting. Their driver, Marty, picked us up around 10AM and took us to 6 different wineries since we were the only couple on this trip. We headed out, and at first I was a bit sceptical as we started off going to small wineries that were what it appeared to me as other people's personal property, but I soon realized, that's the way things are. In fact, my wife and I enjoyed our time and the wine far better at these smaller wineries than we did at the larger wineries (The smaller ones you are usually talking with the owner of the winery directly and get a more personal experience). The driver gave us a great background of the area as he was driving us around and made it a very great experience. In the middle of the trip, we headed back to the Inn for our lunch which was included as part of the inn-cursion. For the second part of the day, we went to a few more wineries and got back around 4PM. The timing was perfect as my wife and I were about done with the travelling and tasting. If I had to plan this trip to Napa again, I know where I am going. The hotel staff are amazing people and my wife and I are already looking forward to the next trip.

We stayed here 20 years ago, had a great time, but have not been back to Napa without the kids. I decided to surprise my wife with a week in The Vintner's Cottage for our 25th, which was not built when we last visited. The cottage was amazing, the staff and food great, and the stay was one to remember. Although the cottages are not inexpensive, I think you will have a hard time beating the price for what you get and recommend the Inn to everyone. Thank you again to Jim and his staff for making our stay a special one.

From the moment we entered the room, it was like stepping into a dream. The hand painted four poster, the flowery prints, calming blue, and the fireplace, all seemed to come out of an 18th century British novel!! The wines and appetizers in the evening were as delicious as the breakfast. The entire property was beautiful and green, and I especially loved the little swing overlooking the vineyard. Overall, we had a wonderful experience here, and would recommend it to anyone seeking a perfect romantic weekend getaway!

We ended up staying a second night. Their wine tasting tour and lunch was fantastic - Unique vineyards and small group (just 6 total). They Inn has a nightly restaurant shuttle to take you to and from your local restaurants. Everyone was very helpful and we loved breakfast each morning. This was a relaxing and beautiful weekend. Thank you for an amazing first trip to Napa. I have already recommended the inn to many friends.

We enjoyed a wonderful weekend at Wine Country Inn in early March. The location in the middle of a vineyards, the hospitality of the owners and the simplicity of the room with a great view and an open fire place created the right atmosphere for relaxation. We can recommend the place warmly. The only room for improvement is quality of coffee at breakfast which does not match the overall experience.

Our cottage was an outstanding romantic hideaway. Perfect in every way. In our 16 day trip to several beautiful places in California, this ranked at the top.

The service was spectacular, as was the room and the landscape. The shuttle service and local dining was a great bonus. We will be back again!

We had a great stay at Wine Country Inn. Everyone was very nice and helpful. We took the wine excursion with Tracy and visited some great wineries. Breakfast, wine hospitality and free dinner transportation was a big plus! We would definitely stay again and recommend it to our friends.

We had a great 2 nights here, it is kind of like a BnB hotel hybrid, but done very well. Breakfast was great and the afternoon wine reception was a nice addition. Definitely appreciated the room upgrade. The only downside was that the shuttle to dinner was not running during the week despite the advertising and flyers that we saw.

Our 5 day stay at the Wine Country Inn was wonderful. We stayed in one of their cottages which was complete with a fireplace and a private patio with a small fountain. It was comfortable and very cozy. We never missed not having a TV in the room. The staff was quite friendly and helpful. The Inncursion wine tour was wonderful with our driver/guide well informed about the wineries he took us to as well as others. The breakfasts and the afternoon wine tastings were fun and delicious. We got to meet other guests and learn about their favorite wineries. The chef prepared delcious dishes and was kind enough to share his recipes. I highly recommend the Wine Country Inn and hope to return soon.

My wife and I had a fun and relaxing three day visit to Napa Valley. The Wine Country Inn was a great place to call home base whiule visiting many wineries. The staff were wonderful and very friendly, and the food was exceptional. My wife liked getting the recipes. Everday in the late afternoon, a different winery provided wine tasting (our favorite was Frank Family Winery), and Wine Country Inn served delicious appetizers. We would recommend this inn to all of our friends.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Wine Country Inn. From the beautiful grounds, to our comfortable room, to breakfast, to the afternoon hors d'ouvres and wine tasting everything was as good or better than we had expected. The transportation to the restaurants was a real plus as well. This place is a real find in my opinion.

Our favorite place in Napa is The Wine Country Inn...friendly, great service, great location, and beautiful setting. This was the first time on the main level in the main inn (room #7). Beautiful room, but unfortunately the night was disrupted by our neighbors coming in noisily late and frequent visits to the bathroom by the patrons above us (noisy floor, heavy walkers).

Wonderful experience. The room was wonderful, grounds amazing (grapes in full bloom), breakfast delicious, and staff wonderful.

Stay there many times. Its very well located in the center of Napa valley, has a nice breakfast and lovely garden. The decor is a bit random bed and breakfast style, but all the essential comforts are there.

Surprised my boyfriend for his birthday and he was thrilled. The pool is gorgeous, the breakfast is great, and it is extremely relaxing. Very homey feel, with the exception of the luxury. Highly recommend... You're not going to want to leave!

WCI makes dinner reservations at many upper Napa valley restaurants, but the best part is they have a shuttle that takes you to the dinner and picks you up when you are ready! Well done!

We stayed 4 nights at the Wine Country Inn on our 3rd trip to the Valley... and it was fabulous! The rooms are spacious and, the beds a very comfortable. The ground are beautiful and the the pool refreshing. Breakfast is plentlyful to get you ready for a full day of wine tasting. Two bonus items of staying here are 1) the evening wine tasting is included with appetisters and 2) the Wine Excursion they offer was surprisingly a wonderful experience. We will diffenetly stay here again!

The Wine Country Inn provides the quintessential wine country experience. A perfect get-away spot to celebrate a special occasion - as we did for our recent Anniversary. The shuttle to local restaurants, the helpful front-office staff, and the great breakfast all contributed to a wonderful stay. We splurged and had a separate cottage (Vintner's Room) with a private deck overlooking the vineyards. I can't imagine a more relaxing setting, and we look forward to going back again.

We arrived to a warm and friendly welcome and were then shown to our lovely room. We had spent the week travelling California staying at various hotels and it was so nice to be somewhere so individual. Our room was private, very comfortable, and a joy to come back to. The Wine Country Inn really is a special place to stay.
4.2 on September 19, 2012
we had an amazing time at the wine country inn, the staff were outstanding and made us feel so very welcome.... my only complaints are that the shower/toilet area needs a desperate upgrade and having payed nearly $500 for the room and then having to pay for a soda!! really??? ... but we had a great time and the view from our room was outstanding. we will certainly recommend to all our friends.

We found Wine Country Inn online by chance, but we were very happy to have found it! The staff and other guests we met at the inn were extremely friendly and I can see us going back there for more. The quality of complimentary food and wine was excellent; we actually ended up canceling our dinner reservations! As experienced world-travelers, we recommend Wine Country Inn for anyone.

My husband and I stayed at the Wine Country Inn for our honeymoon. We booked solely by what we saw online and it is not only what is advertised, but BETTER!! The staff was WONDERFUL...the shuttle to dinner restaurants, reservations made for you, the excursion available to tour wine country, and the knowledge of the staff for anything you may need to know was above and beyond! The service they offer to mail wine home for you is an awesome plus!! I would highly recommend the Wine Country Inn and am looking forward to the next time WE can get away to wine country!!
4.6 on August 15, 2012
The people at the Wine Country Inn are very friendly and the dinner shuttle was a great perk! We also got a free room upgrade to the Vintner's Cottage, and I've never stayed anywhere that nice. We had a vineyard view and our own private patio. The bathroom was huge and beautiful. It was more like a little apartment than a hotel! Very good breakfast, too. I feel very lucky to have stayed there.

Nice secluded beautiful place in St. Helena. The rooms with spacious, the balcony was amazing. It set right next to the vines, so we had a tons of privacy. On that note, the guy who farms those grapes must see a lot of naked people. There was wine tasting every happy hour with fantastic food. Ryan was our chef, very kind and happy to help us find the best restaurants in the area. Breakfast was great too, the artichoke quiche was good to start our day. We got free wine tastings everywhere with the wine country inn. Highly recommended.

Wine Country Inn represents the epitome of wine country. The staff is extraordinarily helpful and friendly (Joyce and gang), the breakfast and afternoon appetizers are delectable, and the surroundings are serene. The Inn's complimentary shuttle enhances dining out, while the pool/spa invites staying in. This family-run Inn adds to the pure enjoyment of the Napa Valley area by offering a fine blend of great people and delicious meals in a relaxing setting. You are sure to feel at home while visiting and to leave renewed... Cheers, from South Louisiana (Cajun Country)

Chef Ryan's breakfast casseroles were wonderful and his Happy Hour hors'doeuvres and wine tastings were fun and delicious! We would definitely stay there again!

We stayed in one of the suites and were just blown away by the layout of the room and its surroundings. We had a patio over;looking a vineyard that was lika an europhic oasis in the full moon. Sitting back in our chaise lounge chairs, sipping wine, chillin out, I mean it just doesnt get any better! Anyone who runs there own business surely can relate to what we're saying. Top notch in every aspect. Thank You W.C.I. for a wonderful vacation.

Super Bed and Breakfast! We couldn't have chosen a better place to stay for our two nights in Napa Valley. The service was excellent and the place was amazing. One night we had our own fireplace in the room and the other night we got upgraded to a room with private spa. One of the best things though, is the complementary Wine tasting and snacks. Both days, we had wine from local wineries and homemade snacks/tapas. Another great thing is the shuttle that brings you to your dinner place and pick you up again - in that way you can taste all the good wine without having to drive.

This was a lovely hotel with great amenities very close to St. Helena and Calistoga, but just far enough to feel like you're getting away from all of the bustle. It is a pricey hotel, not that it's not worth it or more expensive than any other place in the area, but pricey all the same! I would recommend this hotel to a friend.

WCI is the best property in St Helena and Napa. Just tow minutes outside of the town of St Helena so it offers the ambiance of staying in a vineyard with the convenience found in the center of tow. It is truly modeled after an east coast Bed and Breakfast but with modern conveniences. All of the exclusive features from the fantastic breakfasts, to the daily customized wine excursions to the shuttle to the restaurants within 15 minutes of this boutique property, it adds up to one fantastic place to spend time in wine country. If you can find a property that has all of this go for it but I bet you will not find anything close to the Wine Country Inn.
5 on June 22, 2012

Our experience at the Wine Country Inn was exceptional! We arrived in time for the 4:00 pm local wine tasting and hors d'ouevres. Our host, had a glass of wine in our hands even before we checked in! We had not made plans for dinner the first night we arrived. The Inn's staff promptly made a recommendation, made a reservation, drove us to the restaurant and then returned later in the evening to deliver us back to the Inn! The Staff was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. Service was 5 stars!! We stayed in one of the beautiful cottages. It was absolutely gorgeous! We loved the private patio, complete with fountain and beautiful landscaping! Needless to say, we are very much looking forward to our return to Napa. We wouldn't stay anywhere else!
4.4 on June 02, 2012
The location of the Inn is excellent--away from the highway so it is not noisy and mid-valley so there is easy access to wineries, dining, and outdoor activities. The setting is also quite lovely, with gardens throughout the property and vineyards nearby--quite the haven for birds as well as guests seeking a quiet moment during the day. A hearty breakfast buffet is available every morning (including a hot entree) and a coffee service is available all day (with delicious home-made cookies every evening). The atmosphere is carefree and congenial--staff are available to assist guests as needed but are not obtrusive in any way. Spa services are available on-site and the Inn offers an evening wine tasting; however, we did not take advantage of these opportunities during our recent visit. We had a truly relaxing stay and look forward to our next visit to the Inn

Great place. We stayed in the least expensive room and though small, everything was first class. The breakfast is awesome, the daily wine tasting is free with a ton of great snacks and the complimentary van service to dinner is something I have never seen anywhere else. Really, they are doing a great job here and I highly recommend this inn for a great time in Napa Valley.

This was the first time we had stayed at this Inn and we had a wonderful time. The property is lovely with a great swimming pool area and our room (number 4) was very nice. The staff is friendly and helpful and Ryan the chef is terrific. I don't care for the fact that the Inn charges half of your bill to your credit card right away--we booked six weeks in advance. When asked about this "policy" they said that they have been utilizing this practice "...for 30 years..." Also, while our room was beautiful, we could hear everything our neighbors were talking about through the walls.

My wife and I spent a quick two night stay and was concerned that the website which they had may have overstated their B & B, however we were blown away from the first moment we arrived to the moment we left. Thank you Jim from your new best friends from Maine!

Wine Country Inn is a bit on the pricy side, but the service, knowledgeable and friendly staff are above and beyond what you would find anywhere else. It was very cool that they offered a new winery tasting every night at happy hour; it afforded the opportunity to try wine from a vineyard that maybe you haven't been or may care to go and the free tasting allows the choice to happen.

Wine Country Inn lived up to my high expectations and provided a perfect atmospere to celebrate our 15th anniversary. Our suite had a private hot tub just feet from the vineyards and breathtaking view of the surrounding hills. Given the opportunity, I'd go go back in heartbeat.

While it's not the classic restored Victorian we always gravitate to, the WCI is the closest we've come to the perfect B&B situation if you can get one of the Hasting House rooms with the private outdoor hot tubs. The facility is immaculate, the staff is Great, Ryan is a great chef so the breakfasts are delicious and plentiful!! The location is perfect as well, if you like to get out and hike or jog. We will definitely be back!! awr

This is the second time we have stayed at The Wine Country Inn...this time for my wife's 40th Birthday, and we put the Inn to the test by bringing along 6 other couples that never get away from their kids, so needless to say, we all returned to our youth. Not only was the Inn it's usual wonderful place, they handled all of us and our antics with respect, and a knowledge of why we were there and the patience that comes with it. I recommend to ANYONE to stay here, as we ALWAYS will...absolutely NO desire to even think about ever staying anywhere else!!! This will ALWAYS be our Napa Home.
5 on April 18, 2012
If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of life this is your destination! The views are a dream and the location is peaceful! I did the InnCursion which takes you to local boutique wineries that most people would drive by to the more commercialized wineries, but that would be a mistake to miss those jems, that only the locals would know about. The breakfast were amazing! The total rest destination, I willbe going back!

We stayed in the Vinters Cottage. It was absolutely wonderful. Everything you could possibly think of was in the room with clear labeling to make your stay exceedingly pleasant. The cottage is tucked next to the vineyards and with spectaculare weather, it was delightful. The new chef is great. We missed some of our favorite staff who were on leave recuperating and we missed seeing Chef Guy one last time but Ryan is a good addition to the always warm and welcoming Wine County team. It was also nice to see Jim more than what we normally see him since he was filling in for the staff.

We have stayed here approximately 5 times over the past year. It's amazing how many repeat customers that there are. The rooms are well worth the price; the setting is serene. Breakfast and the wine hour w/ appetizers in the evening is a nice addition. In addition to the customer service, the fact that they drive you to/from dinner is exceptional. We only live 30 miles away, but love to come up here for a wine country weekend regularly.

Thank you Wine Country Inn for another great stay.

Best time was on the Inn-cursion tour with Marty! We had the best time laughing and enjoying the wineries he picked out for our tour. Not to mention the FABULOUS lunch he prepared for us! AMAZING! The restaurant shuttle is also a great service. We stayed in one of the cottages and LOVED it! A little pricey but worth every cent!

Wine Country Inn was well-located and had many nice amenities like the Designated Driver, wine & appetizers in the evening and a full buffet breakfast. It was a very lovely place to stay but was rather large for a B&B. It was more like a homey hotel with about 20 rooms. With all said, I would recommend this inn.

This was our first extended visit to the wine country. My wife and I had a spectacular time and overall we were very pleased with our accomodations. We felt that the value was exceptional, the location was excellent and quite cozy. Far and away the most exceptional thing we could comment on is the service was top shelf! From the kitchen staff, front desk, cleaning staff to all those not mentioned everyone was polite, pleasant and went above and beyond to help us in any requested manner. We will definitely stay here again for our next vist- which we hope to be very soon. I would recommend the Inn without reservation and with much enthusiasm.

3 fabulous nights in the Napa Valley...but up away from all the crowds at the Wine Country Inn. The breakfasts each morning are yummy and made with many of their own home grown ingredients. Every afternoon, there is a complimentary wine tasting in the common room by one of the local wineries. Plus, you can take one of their "Wine Inn-cursions", where they drive you around for the day to boutique, off-the-beaten-path wineries. We don't want to stay anywhere else

This was our 6th visit to the Inn and we have yet to be disappointed! It is the only place we stay and recommend in the wine country. Great pride and care are taken at the Inn which translates to a welcoming, comforting and relaxing experience. With Guy at the helm, the breakfast and afternoon appetizers are fantastic! Best tasty delights around! The staff is wonderful and we are already set to come back early next year. Thank you again Wine Country Inn for giving us consistent and memorable good times!!

I was hoping to be in a cottage for the price of the room and was actually disappointed in the standard of the bathroom also. Breakfast and service outstanding as ever

Each evening there is a different winery doing a tasting. Also, the free restaurant shuttle is very convenient. Mostly, we liked how it doesn't feel like a big place and it's kind of out in the country. Also, just a short walk to Freemark Abbey winery and Silverado Brewing company (food and beer).

This was a great inn. Staff very friendly and accommodating for food allergies. The inn and the rooms were so private, did not feel busy even though they were at full capacity. Loved the snacks and wine tasting nightly.

This place is remarkable, the people are the greatest asset - everyone caring and friendly. While we were not in our room that much, I did notice the Wi-Fi either way to slow or non-existant, but I was there for the inn and the wine country instead. Highly recommend this place, it's been our 3rd trip there in 4 years.

We stayed over Labor Day weekend. Completely relaxing resort. LOVED the free shuttles to local restaurants! Wonderful service for your guests. The location is fantastic, too. Overall, the place is "rustic elegant." Nothing fancy. Just real. Loved the quail running about the place as well. had never seen a quail!

Delightful Inn to spend a few days. Great location, very friendly staff, Janelle, who drives the shuttle limousine to the restaurants was spot on with her advice where and what to eat: The" Market" restaurant on Main Str. in St.Helena was terrific: Lobster rolls, Scallops in cauliflower puree with mushrooms and an amazing dessert: Butterscotch Pudding that won 1st prize."Cindy's Backstr.Kitchen "did not come close. Jim offered halfprice roomrates if we had to extend our stay due to Hurricane Irene, that forced Dulles Airport to be closed. We were able to get a plane the next day early and decided to spend it at the Airport, but that was a classy offer! Can highly recommend this Inn!

This is our second visit to the Wine Country Inn, and once again we left happy customers! We've decided we will stay here every visit to Napa/St.Helena. We checked in on a Sunday, and were upgraded from a small queen room without a view to a large queen room with fabulous views! The staff is so very accommodating in every way. Since it was a "light" crowd during our stay, we were had breakfast delivered to our room! A nice touch, plus fabulous food.

We enjoyed the Wine Country Inn. Wine tasting in the early evening with hors d'oeuvres was nice and the breakfasts were very pleasant. We enjoy meeting other people and had the choice of eating breakfast at our own table or sitting at a large table and chatting with others. Pool was nice. Van driver for the restaurant shuttle was kind of abrasive, but it's a handy service. All other staff was quite pleasant. Good location. Seems like they get a lot of guests who return year after year.

My wife and I stayed one night. We were disappointed that there was not a TV in the room. My wife likes a flat pillow and I like a full one. I was the one happy. It would have been nice to have both available. The staff was great and the happy hour was outstanding. We were happy that we stayed there but for the price I doudt we stay there again.

We love wine country inn! Would be outstanding across the board but bothbour rooms needed minor repairs that should have been done especially given the prices at this inn. It didnt ruin our time at all and we will still be back to this great inn butvwe hope they will do a biyvmore careful room maintenance.

The grounds are extremely pleasant and relaxing in nature. The breakfast and afternoon wine & appetizers were a nice bonus. Because I have food allergies, it was very nice how ingredients to the food were displayed. The staff is extremely nice and helpful. We'd definitely stay here again.

We needed a quiet relaxing weekend and The Wine Country Inn was perfect. The staff were friendly and made us feel at home.
4.4 on July 27, 2011
What a find!!! Not only are the gardens and surrounding vineyards GORGEOUS, but the room (cottage, actually) was BEYOND my expectation. And the service -- the staff -- is wonderful. Everyone is not nice-because-they-have-to-be -- they are genuinely good, nice, fun people! Don't miss the 4:30pm wine tasting and appetizers in the "common room". The pool and jacuzzi are a dream, too. Make sure to wander around the gardens.
2.6 on July 27, 2011
We are accustomed to a B&B breakfast that shows individuality; something unique and tasty. The breakfast here was a large serve-yourself tureen of a tasteless quiche that everyone shared. Scones and muffins were run-of-the-mill. All in all, this breakfast had variety but lacked quality, especially for the high price we were paying.

We stayed in the "smallest" room, and were pleasantly surprised at how large it was -- there was even a small "nook" that fit my 3 year-old son's cot perfectly. The breakfast was very very good. And the afternoon hors d'oeuvres were even better -- great food, plus a different indie winery was pouring wine every day. It was like getting an extra (free!) tasting every day. We looked forward to it every afternoon. The grounds were outstandingly beautiful. What a great setting to be right in a vineyard. But it's less than 3 minutes to town, so no need to feel far away. The pool was lovely and my 3 year old loved it. The people there were incredibly friendly and SO nice to my son. As were the rest of the guests. We will definitely stay here again and again!

If your looking for a special getaway the Wine Country Inn is the place. The excellence of the staff, attention to detail and wonderful food and service put this B&B above all others! Celebrating out 25th Wedding Anniversay was beyond what we expected from the Inn. They offer wine tours, car service each evening so you dont have to drive to dinner and they will even surprise you with making all of your dinner reservations and when you arrive at the restaurant it is a new experience each evening. A great pool that is heated sitting in the middle of the Vines! Each evening different wine makers shocase their specialty wines and they are all to die for. I am not one who usually writes reviews (leave that to my wife) and could really not be bothered but this place made an impact on me and we will be back for sure. Thanks to all the staff for making our trip so wonderful. Greg & Sandy Helton

My husband desired a secluded bed & breakfast (inn) situated among the vinyards. Found Wine Country Inn on the internet. Very impressive website. Arrived to find a quaint inn, inviting room with a private patio overlooking the vinyards as well as a private hot tub. Very quiet. We took advantage of the Inn-cursion the next day. Tracy, our guide, took us to wineries 'off the beaten path' where the owners were actually there talking about their wines. We were taken back to the Inn for lunch during the day. Guy is truly Master Chef of HIS kitchen. Each morning we were served a bountiful breakfast - all kinds of fruits, 'famous' granola, Death by Cheese, waffles, homemade muffins, bagels, etc. etc. Excellent! Our first contact with Wine Country Inn was Carol, who made our reservations. After 2 wks of almost daily phone calls with more questions from me, upon meeting Carol, I felt we were already friends. Just a great attitude and always a smile on her face. Janelle, who shuttled us each evening to local restaurants, suggested places to eat. Listen to her! Each place we dined was terrific - all suggested by Janelle. All of what is written above should be enough of a review, but one of the best things we liked was the interaction with the other guests in the evenings at the wine tastings and in the mornings at breakfast. Everyone shared their stories of their visit. We would definitely go back and would highly recommend Wine Country Inn to family and friends!

Great location, superb breakfast, and transportation to and back from dinner...the amenities are unmatched!
4.6 on June 27, 2011
We paid a little extra for a balcony & vineyard views and it was very worth it. After bringing bottles of wine home from our tastings, there was nothing better than sipping it on the balcony or in the hot tub later at night. The inn provides wine glasses, wine openers, has a beverage fridge (honor system) and even found us beers when we needed something other than wine! The pool is big, the breakfasts that they serve are delicious and the location was perfect as we did most tour & tastings in the Yountville/ Rutherford area. I would definitely return again.....and I'm just not saying that because I'm a cat lover either :) (they have 2 cats on the premise that are adorable!)

The perfect getaway if you are looking to get away from it all. Beautiful gardens, great views, clean rooms, wonderful breakfasts and simple appetizers in the evenings. The only downfall was when the room above had guests--heavy feet and pounding. We thought they would come thru the ceiling. Voices also traveled through the walls--must have been loud talkers as we didn't hear the guests who came in the next day.

Pleasant staff. The room was spacious and there was a pull out sofa for our third member from the sitting area. View of the vineyard; sitting on the balcony was so relaxing. Wonderful breakfast included with a great variety from boiled eggs and fruit to quiche and salmon cream cheese spread. So good! Wine reception with a lot of good appetizers. We found the size of the property large enough to have our personal space and be by ourselves if we chose, and at the same time small enough that we got to meet some great people over breakfast and at the reception and we got to know each other well! Thanks for a good time, Wine Country Inn.

The grounds of this establishment are absolutely stunning. This place makes for the perfect romantic getaway. While very luxurious, don't expect a top rate concierge, however. There was one person at the front desk and he "got too busy" to make our dinner reservations, which ended up putting us in the last seating of the night. That said, nothing can take away from the escape The Harvest Inn offers. We will definitely stay again and would recommend this place to others.

my newly wed wife and I decided to make this our honey moon trip and it was amazing the inn keepers were so friendly. We are going to come back as much as we possibly can. It made for the perfect vacation, it was relaxing and had all the comforts of a home away from home. Thank you so very much to the staff of the wine country inn. Blake N and Michelle N.

We stayed at the Wine Country Inn during May 2011 as a college graduation present to my daughter. The staff was very helpful and friendly, the rooms comfortable and charming, the views and grounds were gorgeous. Each day, the inn offers a different, delicious breakfast. Each afternoon, guests can enjoy a complimentary wine tasting with hors d'oeuvres. The inn is not in the middle of town, but just outside town in the midst of the vineyards. A highlight for us was the inn's offering of spa services, including massages in a cabana overlooking the vineyard. I would return, and would love to see the area in every season.

Wine Country Inn at St. Helena has a great location and views of mountains and vineyards. Great garden and vegetation around the grounds. Walking distance to Duckhorn Winery, Silverado Brewing Company, and Freemark Abbey tasting room. My aunt and ma bought two bags each of the granola. They really liked it. My husband liked the breakfast buffet and happy hour. Nice touch they provided complimentary wine tastings to some local wineries and free shuttle for dinner in the afternoon. Certain rooms are roomy and have a view but with soft older bed. Other rooms are small with outdated bathroom but a firmer bed. Go for the location and the beautiful grounds that include a POOL because the rooms could be a hit or a miss.

My husband and I stayed at the Wine Country Inn, April 2011. It was wonderful, they went out of their way to help you select winery's and restaurants and were very knowledgable about the area. Breakfast was delightful and they had a different winery in every evening from 4:30 - 6:00 for a wine tasting and appetizers. One of the added features of this inn that we really enjoyed was the restaurant shuttle. They dropped you off for dinner and picked you up when you were done. I would highly recommend staying at this inn.
Thanks for your detailed and thoughtful review. Because of your comments we moved our annual "Bed Check" up and indeed found some beds that could be more comfortable. We are ordering 5 new mattress sets this week. Thanks again for bringing this to our attention.

Nice inn that successfully pulls off being somewhere between a teeny b&b and a full blown resort. The slightly chintzy decor and faux cottagey feel of the service and setting were not to our taste, but were exactly ad advertised and good if you like that sort of thing, so no complaints there. Main issue we had was that around $400 a night, you could easily stay at one of the bigger name resorts and get a lot more for your money. The free shuttle service is a great touch.
Thank you for your comments about being a nice combination of B&B and resort. That is exactly what we are trying to accomplish. We consider ourselves a Boutique Hotel. As to value (as opposed to price) I will gladly go toe to toe with any other lodging in the Napa Valley. In my opinion our free breakfast and free afternoon wine social are better that any. Our free restaurant shuttle, well, no one else is even offering this service. Our location, off the highway, surrounded by vineyards, again, in the Napa Valley there is no hotel that even comes close to our views or serenity. There is no doubt that our rates are expensive, but for "value", I will match my staff and my services against anyone.

Our stay was wonderful, as was the Wine Country Inn. That expected, this is what I expected, based on recommendations I received and based on the price. The service was tremendous, however, and deserves special mention. The breakfasts were special and simple, with great coffee, food, and seating availability.

We enjoyed the room and grounds as much as going to the wineries! Watching the sunrise from our deck, swinging on the grounds swing in the afternoon, wandering the gardens, and the fabulous granola- all made for a memorable stay. We will definitely come again.

The staff was excellent and made every process such as checking in and which restaurant to choose, effortless. The afternoon wine tasting and morning breakfast had quite a few food choices which was more than what we had expected. The staff was friendly and accommodating. My husband and I had massages in the gazebo and the ladies did a wonderful job in making us feeling relaxed. Our room was charming and comfortable. It was wonderful to open our patio door and window for fresh air and enjoy the beautiful view. We will definitely be coming back for another get away.

The Wine Country Inn is perfectly located between St. Helena and Calistoga. It is a lovely property with many amenities - even ear plugs for sleeping during harvest and other times when wind machines are used, etc. Wine at night with delicious appetizers, fabulous breakfast, and free transport to any of 12 restaurants so you don't have to drive after drinking wine. Super friendly staff. What more could one ask?
5 on April 16, 2011
Gosh, where to begin, from the moment we arrived at the Wine Country Inn there was this sense of peace and a relaxing vibe. The Inn is surrounded by picturesque vineyard landscapes and was designed with the patron in mind. Our room was medially priced compared to the price of the rooms/suites/lodges, that the Inn has to offer, but exceeded our expectation. (And you will find a board game under your bed..ours was Twister..(FUN!! on a honeymoon) The room was impeccably kept and whatever additions we needed (extra wine glasses!) were at our personal disposal at the Inn's main office/social area. My husband and I left after three days to stay at another Inn closer to our final destination and were immediately disappointed and lusted for the Wine Country Inn again. Jim is not just the owner but a gracious host and his staff is just Top Notch. Not only are the grounds and facilities ingratiating and invigorating but offer a level of privacy that left us able to experience all the Inn had to offer. The homemade food; hearty breakfast and scrumptious snacks, are like Mom makes (or you wish she would). Well, if this doesn't wet your appetite for all things Soul Satisfying than I don't know what will. Thank You Wine Country Inn!!!!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Inn, I only have one complaint. Our fridge had not been cleaned out. We asked the front desk to have it cleaned while we were at dinner and it was not cleaned out when we returned. It wasn't the biggest deal to me considering it was only one night and I wasn't going to be using the fridge anyway BUT the room was $400 a night and I would expect for that price for things to be taken care of. The grounds are beautiful, loved the hot tub on our patio, the wine/appetizers and breakfast were fantastic. I just wish for the money that our fridge was clean and if not at least done after we went to dinner when we asked.
Thank you very much for your comment about The Wine Country Inn. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay and I am equally glad that you pointed out a problem you had during your stay. I talked to my staff and found out that my night desk innkeeper asked our evening housekeeper to clean out your refrigerator, but that something was apparently lost in translation into Spanish. Another of my staff commented that she goes on-line to a free translation site to make sure she is understood. Thanks to you we have a new system for all of our staff to use!! You have helped solve a problem that has perplexed us for many, many years and, with the advent of computers, it was so simple!

My wife and I just returned from the wine country inn where we had one of the best vacations we've ever had (and we travel quite a bit). We had booked a normal room but had seen online that you can request a free upgrade upon arrival. We asked and it just so happened they had the Owners Private Cottage available where they moved us free of charge. The room was fantastic and very private. The staff was amazing, from the guide on our InnCursion to the folks at the front desk and of course the owners. We participated in the wine tasting each evening and got great dinner recommendations. I would 100% recommend Wine Country Inn for any couple traveling to Napa Valley, thanks for a great stay!

We returned to the Wine Country Inn for a weekend night romantic getaway. When we arrived we were greeted with an upgrade to a room w/hot tub and patio. How nice was that? My wife then received an EXCELLENT massage while I enjoyed some wine sampling and apps from the local winery that evening. After a great night of sleep in our room, we enjoyed breakfast on the main patio. The weather and surroundings were so beautiful we sat for a while. All in all, we will keep coming back to the Wine Country Inn. The service is great, the B&B gorgeous and the setting, who could ask for anything more? Plus if you return w/in the year you will receive 15% off. We'll be back shortly!

This place is not worth the price..I suggest staying way from this B&B. Summary of my wife and my experience below We arrived and where greeted by the wonderful staff On our way to the room we have to walk around trash that was on the ground left behind by the cleaning crew The wine tasting was great with some fine cheeses but they served jalapeno poppers (Costco style pre frozen)...jalapeno poppers with fine wine???? The breakfast was a major disappointment. Breakfast was schedule form 7:30am to 10:00am. We arrived there at 9:30am to find the staff removing the breakfast items. We asked the staff if there where anymore of the featured eggs (Death by Cheese), we where told they are out and where not going to make anymore..come on you know how many guest you have make enough food..I counted 8 other people who came after us and where looking for eggs. My wife asked one of the staff for some yogurt to go with granola and the staff member gave her such attitude and only brought about 3 table spoons. This is not enough for 1 person...we had to 2 other people waiting for yogurt as well....Not worth the price...I paid nearly $400 for bad service.....
Wow, I feel like I want to go line by line through this review and dispute everything, but since I didn't check these folks in or supervise breakfast that morning I really cannot say first-hand what they experienced. Certainly, on occasion the housekeepers have left out a bag of trash while cleaning a room and certainly, on occasion, we have run out of our egg casserole (though I do not believe these guests were not offered a freshly made omelet). But seriously, complain about our Jalapeno Poppers, I love our poppers. With a nice crisp Sav Blanc!! Heaven!

We are repeat guests at Wine Country Inn, and it one of our favorite places to stay in Napa County. The staff at Wine Country Inn is outstanding, the rooms are always beautiful (even if the bathroom are bit tiny), and the breakfasts are like dying and going to heaven! Our only glitch (and this was the only time this happened in over 10 stays,) was that our room was overlooked by housekeeping. When we mentioned this to the office staff, the hotel manager herself went down to our room, made up the bed and brought fresh towels. She then came over to us to apologize! The oversight was handled so well, it was as if it didn't happen! We also really appreciate the dinner shuttle to the local restaurants - excellent touch!

We stayed at the Inn in January and love it. We were on our honeymoon and they treated us royally. They have very nice rooms. They promised to upgrade when possible on their website and they kept their word. They serve a very nice breakfast every morning and have a wine tasting with appetizers every evening. They will also shuttle you to restaurants in the area in the evening. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. Their goal was to delight their guests and they succeeded. We would definitely stay at this Inn again and we will recommend it to our friends!

This very charming country Inn is nestled in a quiet spot in St Helena. The rooms are spacious and each is individually decorated. The room we had overlooked a neighboring vineyard and we had a balcony where we could sit outside, as well as a heated floor in the bathroom! The Wine Country Inn offers amenities that far exceed expectations: a fantastic warm breakfast each morning, a nightly wine tasting with appetizers--often featuring a local winery. As an adjunct to their amenities, they offer free transportation to local restaurants for dinner. Janelle drives you in the Wine Country Inn van and you just have to call her to pick you up. Attention to the little details seems to be the guiding philosophy behind this gem.

We are so pleased with our stay at the Wine country Inn we can't wait to get back. We enjoyed all the amenities, and the staff was absolutley awesome. If you go, I highly recommend the Wine Inncursion, we went with two other couples and enjoyed ourselves immensely. Also, do not miss the complimentary tasting in the afternoon along with the delicious treats! Tom & Sandy

This was our second trip to the Wine Country Inn. This time we brought friends and we had a marvelous time. We took the Inn-cursion and Marty our host; knowing that we had done the Inn-cursion last year, took us to different wineries. We had a fabulous time and loved going to the smaller out of the way vineyards. Lunch that day was fabulous. The breakfast and appetizers in the afternoon are wonderful. Came home with more new recipes. The staff is so helpful and the limo service to restaurants is great. The shipping service they provide is also great, reasonably priced and a great way to get your wine purchases home. We will definately be back again.

Very nice room and very nice view of the vineyards. Quiet and peaceful. Only downside: all rooms are very pricey. Expect to pay at least $400. The few rooms with King beds are $500+ and require a 2-day stay.

Gorgeous setting, thoughtful staff, spacious room, many options for breakfast, fresh vegetables grown on the property, and a pool for my wife to swim laps. This will be an annual stop for us!

Our weekend at the Wine Country Inn was wonderful. Open french doors, drizzling rain, wine, and a warm fire welcomed us when we entered the room. The earthy ambience while settling in a soothing jacuzzi bath for two (wine in hand) added to the beauty of the weekend. The staff allowed ease of hospitality and service. We look forward to a future weekend tucked away on Lodi Lane. Love, L&J

We return to Wine Country Inn at least annually. How many places can you go where the staff greets you with a hug and on checking out, wants to know how soon will you be back?

We just returned from our 2 night stay at the Wine Country Inn. And we immediately wished we had booked more time. We purchased our stay at a charity function silent auction and were extremely pleased with our accomodations. Nice room, beautifully decorated. The grounds are meticulous and the staff are friendly, knowledgable and eager to please. Loved the "Inn-cursion" tour of the little known but excellent wineries. Marty was a great host and chef (lunch was delicious!). We had massages on our patio that were wonderful. We'll be back--maybe many times. It's everything you want in a romantic trip to the wine country!

Afternoon wine and food was incredible; breakfast was great; pool and hot tub were relaxing and clean; guests were friendly; the shuttle service to dinner was key!

Wine Country Inn is a classic old home that has been meticulously updated also with new exceptional cottages. Though expensive, we received excellent value in return. They went out of the way to accommodate us by changing rooms once to fit us in...our reservations were last minute. Every need is prepared for...a gift bag of goodies, buckets of ice ready in the freezer, even toothpaste in the toiletries basket. We took the incursion (wine tour) and enjoyed Tracy, our guide. The stretch suburban is very comfortable. We especially liked going behind the scenes to see the production areas. Next time we would love to have a tour of the actual vineyards and learn about the gardening aspects. Having limo service to the restaurants is very nice. We enjoyed sitting in the beautiful common areas, out on the deck overlooking the luscious gardens, or relaxing by the pool enjoying a variety of fresh foods for breakfast and afternoon appetizers with wine, both bountiful. Lots of trails filled with colorful plantings. Beautiful! Every staff member seemed to love his job. Each made the effort to visit with us in the common area, yet were professional. We can't wait to return!

We were surprisingly upgraded to a suite and it was so wonderful! The extra room and view of the vineyard was amazing. We were there in Winter, so it was a little slower. One notable fact is that they have a bountiful wine and cheese in the afternoon. A local winery came in and provided tastings. The breakfast was really filling. I would recommend staying here.

...and I was 'wowed' at the Wine Country Inn. Beautfiful location and grounds (I could reach out and touch the vines), fun and very knowledgable staff, and I loved the fact that included with the stay is both a great breakfast and an afternoon wine tasting where they pour full glasses and have great little goodies to munch on. And get this--now they have a free shuttle to take into St. Helena for dinner and back. Talk about not having to worry about that extra glass of wine! I've stayed in many places, and it's very hard to beat the Wine Country Inn.

We stayed at the wine country Inn Jan 18,19&20 2008 and had a wonderful time!! When we arrived after our long trip over from Nevada we were greeted at check in and oriented to the Inn. We stayed in the Rustic Room #22 and had the most fabulous view overlooking vinyards and mountains from our private veranda. My husband stretched out on the very comfortable bed and promtly took a nap. We felt like we were the only people there for the most part. The Innkeeper, Jim Smith is very friendly and accomodating and was able to arrange a wine tasting tour for us on Saturday. Our driver was fun and our day was just great with visiting the many winerys and then eating at buster's BBQ. We really enjoyed the afternoon wine and hordurves at the INN; but the breakfasts were something to remember and really over the top yummy. I don't remember the last time I have seen my husband eat so much!!!!! We will definetely be revisiting the Wine Country Inn again.
