We stayed in the room with the railroad decor. Very comfortable bed. Shower had plenty of hot water. We could have used more space to put our stuff or another suitcase stand. We liked that there was no tv in room, it helped with the feeling of getting away from it all. That said, I must confess I used their wifi. It seemed to have decent connectivity and speed throughout the house. Breakfasts to die for. Easy walk to old town area of Placerville where there are lots of neat shops and good, non-chain restaurants. The inn keeper are really nice people. Rita went out of her way when friends of ours called, asking her to do some shopping for a surprise for us. We would definitely stay at the Shafsky House again if we are headed for the Apple Hill or Gold Country area of CA.

We stayed at the Shafsky House over Labor Day weekend. Our room was very quaint and cozy-we had a sittingroom attached to the room which we thoroughly enjoyed. The 2 breakfasts we had were absolutely delicious. Rita, the owner, goes out of her way to make you feel welcome and help you out with any questions that you have. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to our family and friends.

Our stay at this lovely historic B&B was memorable and we hope to stay again soon. Rita greeted us at the door and from that moment, we felt right at home. After offering us a nice bottle of local wine, it was a quick walk into town for dinner. Afterwards, a nice relaxing swing in the side yard proved to be just what we needed after our day's driving. Breakfast was outstanding and started the day off perfectly. Thank you Rita, Stephanie and little Lilly (you are such a good doggie!).
