4.0 out of 5Great Getaway in the Wine Country
December 02, 2012
We took our two adult children for a 3-day vacation in the wine country. The Metro Hotel exceeded our expectations. It felt like we were staying at a friends home instead of a hotel. Petaluma is a perfect location--just a 10 minute drive to Napa and Sonoma--with more than a few great restaurants and coffee shops. The Metro is a pleasant change from the run-of-the-mill hotels. We will be back!

Fun smaller hotel with a funky French accent. It's on a pretty busy street, but I didn't hear any traffic noise during our stay. Make your own Peet's drip coffee - this is an excellent idea for the morning. Will make this our go-to place to stay when we're in the area. There wasn't any dining here per se (morning pastries), but it's a required field in the review.
4.0 out of 5Charming Little Hotel
November 28, 2011
Clean, comfortable and charmingly decorated. Tiny chairs, tiny tables, small tub, narrow walkways, narrow halls, narrow staircase, just like in France which adds to the charm of this hotel. So if you are a large person or have a lot of luggage, this may not be the hotel for you. Conveniently located to all the attractions in Napa Valley. Will definitely stay there again.

This hotel was a great little place to stay with European-style rooms, a wonderful front porch, and a neat restaurant area. The innkeeper was very nice and accommodating. This really isn't a traditional bed-and-breakfast, but it is definitely a cool experience. I would recommend it to anyone.

1.4 out of 5Metro Hotel and Cafe
April 02, 2010
This hotel looks better on their website. It was Not a B&B. Listing Coffee & Pastries as included in the rate, in the morning we found coffee we had to prepare ourselves, and no pastries. There was a plate with three tiny slices of dried-out cake (these were on the counter the previous day at check-in) and the ingredients for coffee, which we had to make ourselves. If we had wanted to eat stale cake in lieu of actual pastries, there were no napkins, or any staff present to help us or answer questions. The make-up/shaving mirror in our bathroom was filthy and there was one tiny bar of soap to be used in both the sink and in the shower. We would not recommend this hotel to friends.
1.6 out of 5NO BREAKFAST, no soap, no service
May 22, 2009
NO BREAKFAST WAS SERVED. The entire time we stayed here, we saw not one person. We tried leaving voicemails for the staff, but they were never returned. No hand soap was provided in the room. The room was very cute and clean, but late at night there were people talking in the main part of the hotel and we could hear everything. DO NOT STAY HERE!
4.0 out of 5Not a B&B
April 11, 2009
Nice place but note that this is NOT a bed & breakfast! I called ahead to find out whether the breakfast would accommodate our schedule and was told it was "coffee, tea, and pastry." Pretty skimpy for a B&B, but adequate for our needs, so I booked it. When we got there, it was just coffee -- no tea, and more importantly, no pastry. My partner and I don't drink coffee. My partner was also looking forward to a soak in the promoted clawfoot bathtub. It was a halfsize tub, and he is 6'2". It had barely two square feet of flat space to stand on, and we had to be careful with our footing just to take a shower. Otherwise, comfy and very conveniently located.
4.0 out of 5Quirky Inn
February 26, 2009
We stayed in the cute Bambi Airstream trailer at the rear, with our own little garden. It was very small, but fun. The rooms we saw in the Hotel part looked great. The location was good, walking distance to all that Petaluma had to offer. It had great atmosphere, quite European in style. Would definitely recommend.
