With its spectacular setting at water’s edge, the Green Gables Inn is perhaps the most beautiful and famous inn located in California. If you have the chance to visit this historic gem with its panoramic views of the Monterey Bay, it will be an experience you will never forget. Every detail in this exquisite Queen Anne Victorian, built in 1888, has been meticulously restored for your enjoyment. The Chapel Room is filled with lustrous mahogany, while the Gable Room has a ladder to a cozy attic room in the very gable itself. The Lacy Suite has a magnificent canopy bed. The friendly staff of the Green Gables Inn provides professional service with a great big smile. Each morning they prepare a bountiful breakfast, served in the dining room overlooking the rocky coastline. Afternoon tea is enjoyed in front of the fire in the parlor. Tickets to the Aquarium, bicycles for a ride into Pebble Beach and a variety of books and games are all available at the inn. Make your reservation well in advance for a very special getaway.

Room was comfortable and well decorated, the common areas inviting, breakfast very good and the location beautiful. The staff was friendly and accomodating and we appreciated the wine and cheese they provided even though we arrived after the stated serving time. Definitely a "go to" place if we're back in the area.

My mother and I stayed in the Lacy Suite which was nice and roomy. The afternoon reception was great with more than just cheese and wine. Breakfast was good and the views whole dinning are great. I would stay here again if I return to the area.

Had a very relaxing 3 night stay at green gables. Staff are very friendly and room was excellent. Location was good too just out of the busy area and great view of sea otters while having a glass of wine. Would recommend this and will look to use them again

The location is fantastic. A five minute walk from the Aquarium. The place is clean and comfortable. Breakfast is ok. Our room had a view of the shoreline which is just across the street. It was a real treat to be sitting our room, watching and listening to the waves break over the rocks.

My husband and I had the most wonderful stay at the green gables inn! It completely exceeded our expectations in every way. The service was amazing. The inn keepers were incredibly accommodating. The food was delicious and the location! It's located In the most perfect spot along the coast in Monterey. We stayed in one of the rooms on the top floor of the cottage house. We had our own bathroom with a big jacuzzi tub and a fire place. We absolutely loved it! We could hear the waves crash all night long and we could keep the windows open in January! It truly was the most perfect stay, the food, the view, the service, the room. It was all too good to be true, especially for the price! We will definitely be back and we have already recommended it to friends and family :)

Recently stayed here in February and was disappointed. The location could not be better. You have a terrific view from the main house of the Pacific and 17-Mile Drive and Carmel (two must sees) are very close by. However, Canary Row was a huge disappointment (I should have known better), and there was no place to go for dinner in Monterey/Pacific Grove after 8 PM. Our innkeepers were nice and the facilities clean but very dated. The decor was little too Victorian for my taste. Breakfast was plain and unimaginative: cold cereal, juice, and scrambled eggs.
Monterey, CA (MRY-Monterey Peninsula) 5 miles
From Highway 1 South, take the Highway 68 / Pacific Grove exit. The highway will turn into Forest Avenue. Stay on Forest Ave. until Ocean View Blvd. and then turn right. Turn right onto 5th Street and the Green Gables Inn is on your left.
