LOVED our stay at the Hounds Tooth in February...10 minute drive to Bass Lake! Amazing breakfast with eggs, fruit, delicious breads, juice coffee and more. Hospitality and friendliness of owners was especially appreciated! Cleanliness at the top of their list for sure! We stayed in the spacious cottage with large spa. Loved the windows all around bringing lots of light into the cottage during the day. We'll be back for sure!

Simply delightful. What a remarkable value for a stay on a beautiful property, with delicious breakfasts and afternoon wine bar. The swift drive to Yosemite and several high quality restaurants is another plus. The owners are very kind and helpful too.

The B&B met my expectations completely, especially the good breakfast and the additional afternoon/evening service with wine bar have been very good. The location a bit off the main Oakhurst center is great and a good starting point to Yosemite.

The hosts are extremely friendly and helpful, but not at all intrusive like you will find at many B&B's. They leave you alone unless you ask for assistance. The rooms are very nice. Most, if not all, have fireplaces. The only drawback to the rooms is that the bathrooms have no counter space - just a free standing sink. But in a way that adds to the charm.

The Hounds Tooth Inn was fantastic! The town is quaint, and the inn itself is adorable. The room we were upgraded to was magnificent, and the innkeeper was so kind. I have nothing bad to say - this place was great!

The owners of the Hounds Tooth Inn were wonderful people. They were knowledgeable and kind. We only wish we could have stayed more than one night. The grounds were fantastic and the rooms were warm and inviting. We will stay there again whenever we head back to Yosemite. It was a fabulous experience.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful with tips on restaurants, directions, weather, and activities. I loved that it felt homely which is unlike a large hotel. I also loved seeing the kitties on the property. It reminded me of my own home. Very pleasant stay. Would highly recommend this inn.

Stayed in the Cottage Rose which is larger than I expected from the picture. Comfortable and very clean. Hosts of the inn were very nice, they also have cute and friendly cats. The property is beautiful and a peaceful place to walk around. Breakfast is very good with lots of variety. Location is a close enough 15 min drive into the south end of Yosemite. Surrounded by plenty of restaurants.

Came to CA for a wedding and stayed several days at the Inn. Would highly recommend - clean, comfortable rooms and quiet, private setting. Just as described on website. Breakfast was good - something for everyone. Great value for this price.

This is a wonderful spot to stop before entering Yosemite. The accommodations were wonderful. The hosts had good advice on local eateries. The serve yourself wine bar was astonishing. I highly recommend this cozy inn to anyone needing a good nights' rest.

I am very impressive with this Inn. This place looks small but it's very cute and beautiful. The owner is very good mind. It's Clean and Worth. If I have chance I may visit and stay here again.

We were staying at the Hounds Tooth in preference to staying in the Park. It was a good decision.

We chose the The Hounds Tooth Inn for it location in close proximity, as close as we could get, to Yosemite Valley. While still almost an hour away this is one of the first bed and breakfast locations near the park. Our room, the one pictured in many of their brochure photos, had a jacuzzi tub and fireplace which we took full advantage of. Both added great value to the room which in itself was comfortable and very clean. The bed itself was plush and quite a welcome site after hiking in the valley. A serve yourself breakfast of delicious quiche, toast, cereals, fruit and danish was plentiful and comfortable. The owner stayed out of the guests way and allowed them to enjoy and feel at home. While my girlfriend would have like more interaction from the owners, I was quite pleased to serve myself as much breakfast as I wanted and not have any service. Overall I would give this bed and breakfast good marks for appearance and service and recommend it as a quaint location for a base into Yosemite Valley. I believe next time however, I would look for something much closer or in the Valley as this is a long drive over winding mountainous roads for traveling to and from Yosemite. That should not diminish the Inn itself though as it stood up to it's billing as a comfortable place to stay and rest. Was it worth the price? I believe my girlfriend would say yes, as for me, I would say I suppose so. Enjoy! J. Mang

This accommodation is well located on the southern end of Yosemite National Park. The rooms were neat, tidy & clean & the breakfast was outstanding. The owner of the property was always helpful and went out of his way at all times, throughout the booking process he comminicated at all times and sent through a reminder 1 week prior to our arrival. I would definetaly stay here again.

Nice facility and very nice hosts. The room had a "funny" smell that went away once we opened the windows and aired out the room. Only other comment: Start breakfast (and coffee!!) earlier than 7. We wanted to get an early start into Yosemite and ended up going to breakfast at a place nearby.

Great place close to Bass Lake and Yosemite. Room was very clean. Breakfast Quiche was delicious along with fresh fruit and pastries. The jacuzzi tub was amazing for soaking after a long days hike. Would definatley stay here again.

We have stayed at the Houndstooth Inn several times and have never been disappointed. The Inn is located on the outskirts of the town of Oakhurst, about a 20 minute drive to Yosemite's south entrance. The property has many trees and is nicely planted with lots of roses and annuals. There is a stream at the bottom of a path, dry this time of year but flowing when we've visited in springtime. The rooms are quite large with lots of windows and light and tastefully decorated with just a few country items, his and hers wing back chairs, desk, in-room refrigerator, TV, DVD and radio. There is a well-stocked library of DVDs and games available in an upstairs niche. Breakfast is served in an airy window-filled room with individual tables and chairs, and guests can keep to themselves or converse with other guests. Serve-yourself breakfast consists of a hot dish (homemade quiche the 3 days we were there), fresh fruit salad, orange juice, a selection of breads, muffins and bagels with cream cheese and jars of jam. Granola and cereal are also available. In the afternoon there is a nice selection of half a dozen chilled wines, also available on a serve-yourself basis. It's nice to take a glass outside to enjoy in one of the many comfortable white wicker chairs available around the property and wait for the sun to set behind the surrounding hills and the crowds of crickets to start their evening serenade. Missing my kitty at home, I was happy to be joined by a sweet little black kitten who asked permission to hop into my lap and purr himself to sleep. The only time I saw the innkeeper was when we checked in and out (not your usual chatty hosts) and when we asked directions to Bass Lake.

The Hounds Tooth Inn was a great place to relax after a long day in Yosemite. There are plenty of chairs outside to relax in and watch the sun go down. Rooms are very comfortable and quiet. The breakfast was so good - fresh fruit and a homemade quiche, breads, coffee etc. Very Nice!

This b&b is a very nice place, just a short drive to the entrance to Yosemite. This is not a small establishment (a dozen or so apartments) and is certainly not cheap. But considering the location, the overall quality of rooms and the common area, I'd say that itis well worth yourmoney and time.

Exterior: Down the drive to a beautifully presented country home with the porch and bay window - great start. Reception: Welcoming, friendly and efficient. The only innkeeper to write down the information, did he guess we were forgetful! Ease of access. Single flight of stairs, not too steep. Room: Large with view of trees and garden. All rosewood furniture with tasteful decor and pictures/prints on walls. Large comfortable bed, table with two easy chairs, seperate wash basin in room with en-suite bath/shower and loo. A corner fireplace with log effect gas fire to complete. Just so good. Breakfast: Hot and cold choices with variety each day, nice to linger over a coffee in the breakfast room. Tips: Include on your itinerary for Yosemite, any room will do. Mention: Thanks to Bill for a great stay, I called it a haven but might have missed an 'e' and wouldn't mind finishing up at HTI when my time is up!

Stayed at the Hounds Tooth for three nights in September. The Inn is a convenient 20 minutes drive for the south entrance of Yosemite National Park and 5 minutes drive form Oakhurst which has numerous different restaurants. It is set in a large garden and although just off the main road is very quiet. Our room was large and very comfortable. Breakfast for excellent consisting of fruit juice, fresh fruit, cereals, bread and freshly cooked omlettees. In the evening complimentary wines were provided on a help yourself basis. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.

We stayed two nights in a great room (Victorian Tower - 2nd floor). Only bed - mattress was inconvenient. Rates are expensive but near Yosemite it is a problem to find a good and favorable accomodation. Breakfast was o.k. but nothing to get excited about - we had much better breakfast in other B&B's during our roundtrip. Coffee was only brown water. They could try harder...

Our stay at Hounds Tooth was wonderful. The room was clean, the staff was very friendly, and the grounds are just beautiful. Now to my favorite part....The breakfast that was served was surprisingly delicious. My husband and I were planning on going to a restaurant that morning, but when we went downstairs for coffee we were greeted with so much food! There was a Frittata, a fruit bowl, two different cereals, toast, English Muffins, and all the condiments you needed. We couldn't have asked for anything more! Thank you, Hounds Tooth for providing us a home away from home. We will see you in the winter!

Really nice place to stay if you are visiting the district. Yosemite National Park is about 90 minutes ride to the visitors centre and there are plenty of eating places nearby. But you need to drive to them, although there is a pretty good TexMex about 10 walk away,

Room was spacious and very pleasant. Innkeepers were friendly. Coffee, tea and wine were available in the reception/breakfast area and outdoor chairs and a gazebo were enjoyable for sitting, drinking, reading and conversation. Continental breakfast included quiche. The one exception was a very annoying vibration and low pitched noise coming from the hot tub in the room next door at night. There appeared to be insufficient sound proofing, making it impossible to sleep until the hot tub was turned off in the adjacent room.

Very nice room and grounds. Friendly staff. The loveseat in our room was not comfortable but the bed was great so I sat on the bed and not the couch. The owners may want to sit on the furniture and check the comfort level. We would stay again and will tell our friends to stay at the Hounds Tooth also.

The room and bed were comfortable. The minifridge was a nice bonus. The room was quite clean, but the carpet was stained in several places. The wine bar in the evening was a wonderful "welcome home." We would stay at Hounds Tooth again.

The Hounds Tooth Inn was even nicer than I even expected. The grounds are beautiful, and even though it's on the edge of Oakhurst and Yosemite, in prime tourist country, it feels miles away from any hustle & bustle. Be forewarned, though, it is easy to miss the turn into the driveway (coming from Oakhurst) because it comes right after a curve, and you really can't see the building from the road. (There is a sign, so watch for it)

This was a perfect place to stay during my trip to yosemitepark. The rooms are very cosy and clean and the breakfast is yummie. It's the small details that makes this inn so enjoyable.

We had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with Bill and Anna. Both could not have been more gracious hosts. We stayed over the long Labor day weekend for a little getaway before our twins are to arrive. The inn was booked but the property was peaceful and the breakfast was not frantic at all. We stayed in both the Hearthside and the Simply Fanciful - both comfortable and clean. We went to Yosemite all 3 days (Sat, Sun, and Mon) and experienced moderate amounts of traffic. We would most certainly recommend this property to friends and return ourselves. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Can't say enough good things about this place. Our room was gorgeous and immaculate clean. Our host, Bill, was so gracious and friendly. This is our 2nd time here and we totally loved it. The area is so peaceful and enjoyable. Will definitely stay here again.

The Hounds Tooth Inn was the most expensive acoomodation that we had on our trip through several National parks in the USA, but also the nicest one. You can sit inside a nice well-kept house or outside in the garden to enjoy a glass of wine, which is for free. The rooms are decorated in different ways. The rose room was very nicely decorated and everything was clean. Also the bathroom. We enjoyed our stay very much and I can only recommend to stay at this place if you can afford it.

A very nice B&B. The map of restaurants could have shown distances for each. At least for the local ones.

Hounds Tooth Inn was a well thought out venue with plenty of room to move within your room which was well lit allowing light for suitcase foraging and reading and giving the feeling of cleanliness and airiness. Assets included shaving mirror, generous size fridge, reading chairs. Pre-dinner drinks & outdoor seating really nice extra. One negative - lack of block out curtain or blind meant you are awake with first light whether or not you want a sleep in.

We stayed in the Hounds Tooth room which was spacious and lovely. A nice bonus was that it had an in- room spa. The breakfast was really delicious. A great spot if you are on your way to or back from Yosemite. Just a nice getaway.

Our stay was on a beautiful August day before we visited Yosemite. The owner welcomed us warmly and the room was large and inviting. We relaxed outside with a glass of wine and had a nice chat with a guest from Australia. Highly recommended.

Das B&B liegt außerhalb des Ortes auf dem Weg zu Yosemite NP. Sehr schön, sehr gepflegt. Top Zimmer. Und: Gutes Frühstück, was ja in den USA auch nicht immer leicht zu bekommen ist. Auf dem Weg vom B&B zur Ortsmitte Oakhurst kommt auf der rechten Seite ein guter Italiener, der sogar italienisch schmeckt. Fazit: Top Übernachtung, sehr nettes Personal. Wir würden dort jederzeit wieder übernachten

Room and breakfast were very quite good but the overall maintenance of the facility was very poor. The landscaping is super but it badly needs maintenance. Also, scrap auto parts were laying around.

I sometimes have a little anxiety about throwing down two bills to stay in a place I've never seen in a town I know nothing about - especially in a B&B, where the decor can run too "cutesy" for my taste. Simply put: the Hounds Tooth was quiet, has nice clean rooms that don't scream grandma cottage, and was more than worth the price. If you're visiting Yosemite, do yourself a favor and skip the overpriced Tenaya lodge, drive a few miles further south and stay here. Hopefully you get a room with a spa tub.

Hounds Tooth Inn is run by a friendly couple and the rooms are of high standard. The road is quite busy, with no sidewalk, so it's best to drive into town to get supper. Breakfast was fine, although I would have liked more in the way of fresh fruit. The outside area was pleasant and had a few tables and comfortable chairs to relax away from the noise of traffic.

Would definitely stay here again!! Location a liuttle misleading but still great!!

Bill is a wonderful host and the inn is an adorable home right on the doorstep to the Yosemite Valley floor. Amazing!!

Stayed for one night on a trip through California taking in the Yosemite National Park. Our party size was 2 adults and 3 teenagers.

I stayed here only one night while visiting Yosemite National Park. The place is excellent. Will definetely come back.

Location was #1 for us, as we were driving from San Diego and needed to stay somewhere just outside Yosemite National Park for a night. This place was an enchanting inn with very clean and we stayed in a romantically decorated room. In the evening we took a walk in their property down to a creek that runs through it. Breakfast was superb. Thank you for having a lovely place.

Rooms are very nice and clean, breakfast is below average but still ok. A bit pricy, but in Oakhurust all accomodations are quite expensive in high season.

We are a French family of 4 who stayed one night his August after a visit of Yosemite park. Hounds Tooth Inn is a great place: beautiful house so different and so more charming that the classical motels; nice service, espacially the complimentary wine bar to enjoy outside in front of the beautiful view; large, clean and well equiped room; good home-cooked breakfast. The location is excellent to go the south Yosemite, espacially Mariposa Grove (sequoias): the B&B is after Oakhurst, closer to the park that other Oakhurst lodgings. But downtown Oakhurst is only 3 miles away with all the supermarkets/fastfoods/restaurants etc. Excellent value for money!!

We stayed for 3 nights (4 people, of which 2 kids) in July 2011. We really enjoyed our stay: confortable and quiet room, excellent service, right location, delicious full breakfast etc. Moreover, the place was very safe especially for our kids who liked spend energy to run and play around the house. We would only have one recommendation: next time please keep the Zinfandel wine into the fridge....

Great location, just outside of town on the Yosemite side. Best part is having a glass of wine and going on the terrace with view of the forest. Wine is provided courtesy of accommodating owner. Hotel is minutes from the scenic road to Bass Lake.

I really appreciated the accomodation at Hounds Tooth Inn, the house Victorian style is decorated in every single detail, and the rooms are really amazing and very clean. Also appreciated the wine at the disposal of guests and the rich breakfast.

I have been trying to convince my husband to try a B&B for years. We booked the Hound's Tooth Inn only because there was nothing else available in the area in our price range. well, it was a great success....we both loved it! it was quiet, clean, relaxing.....a wonderful place to retire to after a busy day. We have family in the area and we will be back.

Great bed and breakfast located minutes away from Yosemite national park gates. Huge garden and several spots where you can sit and have a glass of wine (which is free btw). Bill, the owner, was a real gentleman. Do not hesitate to book at this b&b, you won't regret it!

We went to HTI during our honey moon in California. Breakfast were excellent, room was very well decorated... We recommand !!!

The room was large and well equips with TV, AC, spa bath. Nice seating area outside. Limited breakfast which I liked but maybe not for everyone.

We loved the summer house - very quaint and roomy. We enjoyed sitting on the porch. We had 2 adults and 2 teenagers, so we had to add a fold-away, but there was a divider in the room that added a little privacy. It would be nice to change the twin to a double so that you could fit more. Perfect stop before or after Yosemite.

Enjoyed the jacuzzi after hiking a day in Yosemite. Beautiful accommodations,totally enjoyed the stay and will probably go back in the future.

The room was neat and immaculately clean. The innkeeper was friendly and helpful. The complimentery wine in the afternoon was nice to look forward to in the afternoon after a day of hiking and sight-seeing.

We only stayed here one evening while visiting Yosemite National Park. The building is beautiful and the grounds are lovely. Check-in staff was polite. The room was fantastic--very beautifully decorated and quite spacious. I was traveling with my 10 year old niece, and we were thrilled there was a TV with VCR/DVD in the room. We were able to watch the movies we'd brought along. Since we left early the next morning, we actually did not get to partake in the "breakfast" part of "bed and breakfast." I wish we had been able to. This was our first time to stay in such an establishment and we enjoyed it very much.

Fantastic place, and excellent service and hospitality. Very good breakfast. Our stay fitted perfect for our exploring of Yosimetee Nationalpark. A familly from Denmark says thanks.

I went to stay at the Hounds Tooth Inn with two more friends for an overnight stay on our way to Yosemite. We couldn't have wished for more! The rooms were super clean, the surroundings picturesque and the location not too far away from Yosemite. All this at a great price too! I highly recommend anyone who is touring the area to stay here.

It was pleasure to stay there. The atmosphere was very cozy, calm, no crowd, comfortable bed and quite nights, perfect hot breakfast.

This is an excellent place. So many people like it is hard to book a room on short notice. We had to move the second night. Both rooms were excellent. especially like the in room spa.

I lived in summer house in the facility. The only problem I met there is my group has 4 adults, and the room only have 1 queen and 1 twin bed. However, the manager is kind to add another bed for us. The house is close to highway, which is good for travelers, and noises from highway is barely noticed. The fridge in room is a bit noisy. and the A/C is noisy too. The good part is the night is pretty cool, so A/C could be turn off during the night. Otherwise, it is a great place to stay .

Our stay at the Hounds Tooth Inn was wonderful in every way. We had traveled to Oakhurst in order to spend some time in Yosemite, but our room was so beautiful, we hated to leave it!

The Hounds Tooth Inn was a wonderful experience. Nice, clean, comfortable rooms. A pleasant, cheerful, accommodating staff. Besides the usual B&B breakfast fare, there was freshly made fritattas or quiches and fresh cut fruit. All this and only a few miles from the south entrance of the park. I would highly recommend them and plan to return again as soon as possible.

Absolutely gorgeous rooms to choose from with fantastic spas. The owners have given great attention to the details and our tower room was a delight. Easy access from the highway, and a nice buffer so we never noticed any traffic noise in our room. Delicious breakfast and excellent wine in the evenings. Had a small issue with an over zealous maid, but that was easily and pleasantly resolved with the owners. I wouldn't hesitate to book here again!

I had read previous reviews regarding how quiet the location was so I was concerned that the owners permitted their visiting grandsons to ride 4-wheel quads around the inn which was an annoyance.

This is a wonderful and quiet inn right near Yosemite in Oakhurst, a small town with plenty of restaurants and gas stations. A very clean and comfortable stay, and the owners were very nice and accomodating. I would recommend this inn to anyone I know.

Came here a couple of years ago. Still one of the best places to stay in Oakhurst.

Made an internet reservation for this location for a one night stay on our way to Yosemite NP. The correspondence was very friendly and we were very satisfied with the room we had - it was very clean and the interieur was lovely. Cannot rate the included breakfast as we left very eary for the national park. Would recommend this location and would stay there again.

Breakfast was nice, however it would be nice if the hot protein entree accomodated people who do not eat meat, fish, chicken, pork or eggs. I know this is a lot to ask of such a small establishment- so this is not really a criticism. But it would really be attractive to vegetarians and health conscious people.

This was our second stay at the Hounds Tooth Inn. It's a wonderful place, very accommodating hosts. The breakfast is outstanding with quiche and coffee cake, etc. The Inn itself is charming, tastefully decorated and with comfortable, private outdoor seating as well. We really enjoy meeting other guests, some European, others Californians like us. The two friendly cats are a bonus. We'll definitely be back!

Loved the bird's nest room - it was very quiet. We had a very nice stay. We would've liked to stay another night.

What a great place to stay not too far from the south gate to Yosemite! Bill and Anna were very helpful with our many questions. The room was spacious and extremely clean. Breakfast was adequate for both of us as we are very flexible in our eating habits and expectations.

The hosts were very accommodating about storing our luggage while we toured Yosemite. They helped us find another local B&B for our second night in the area as they didn't have rooms available for our second night. The rooms were well maintained and the dining area was bright and welcoming.

We enjoyed our stay here. The inn is beautiful and the rooms are extremely clean, which is very important to me. We will stay here again when we visit Yosemite in the future.

We loved our stay in the Tower room with a lovely spa and view. The bed was very comfortable and the little thoughful ameneties really added to our stay. We ate our breakfast outside under the Gazebo with the resident Kitty. Very warm and friendly staff too.

We decided to stay here before our big half dome hike in Yosemite. To my surprise, the room was larger than expected, the bed was super comfortable, and had a nice area outside where you could walk down to a seasonal creek and drink your complimentary wine and relax. I really enjoyed our stay.

We stayed 2 nights at the birdhouse-room and we were satisfied with our room and the whole Inn. The room was large and clean and the owners were friendly and helpful.The breakfast offered a good variety of warm and cold dishes. The only negative point was that they started breakfast at 8 what was a little too late to reach Yosemite before it was too crowded.It takes an hour from Oakhurst to the valley. Oakhurst itself is nice and offers several restaurants and supermarkets. All in all we were very pleased with our stay at the Inn and recommend it to other travellers.

Our room, the country quilt was more than we had hoped for! Very adequate with a comfortable bed and clean with everything we needed. Close to the park so easy to return for a day trip especially for Glacier Point or Mariposa Grove.

A well appointed and comfortable Bed & Breakfast, beautiful room in lovely surroundings. Close to Yosemite entrance but close to Oakhurst a pleasant small town with all amenities. We really enjoyed our stay and were impressed with the quality of the room and value for money I would be happy to recommend it to anyone.

The room was spacious and comfy. One of the nicest places we stayed in on our whole trip, but also the least expensive. Very happy with our choice to stay there.

Bill and Anna were delightful hosts during our 2-night stay at the HTI. Our room (RobRoy) was light, comfortable, and well-decorated. HTI is conveniently located just south of Yosemite National Park. We were quite comfortable in chatting with other guests during breakfast and found that visitors from all over the world have spent the night at HTI. We highly recommend HTI!

A lovely two days in a quiet home like atmosphere, loved the cats. The fridge needs to be looked at it had an annoying sound when starting up and shutting off. The proximity to Yosemite excellent.

We stayed there for 3 nights. I love the place. Will definetely come back.

Decided to stay here to be close to Yosemite. First time at a B & B. What a great choice! Houndstooth Inn was fantastic and the owners very friendly.

We just stayed at the Hounds Tooth Inn for our anniversary and had one of our best B and B experiences ever! We stayed at the summer house and loved having a big open room. It was so cozy. The inn keepers let us bring our breakfast back to the room and we were able to enjoy our breakfast in front of the fire. It was great! Whenever we want to go to Yosemite, this is the place we are going to stay.

My college roommate (visiting from IN) and I selected the Hounds Tooth Inn as a home base for a couple nights while we enjoyed Yosemite. We stayed in the Firelight Room which was quiet and had a great view of the surrounding mountains. After a long day of hiking and sight-seeing, we returned to relax in the evenings with complimentary wine and the sounds of croaking frogs. Following a good night's rest, we enjoyed the delicious, hearty breakfast before departing for another day full of adventure in Yosemite. Overall, an enjoyable and affordable way to stay near Yosemite. We hope to return!

My wife and I ended up staying at this B&B for one night prior to a week-long backpacking trip in the high country of Yosemite. Everything about the stay was perfect - clean rooms, comfortable beds, great ambiance, and a wonderful host. There is ample privacy, a wonderful breakfast and sitting room, in addition to being so close to the park. You really can't ask for more. We very much enjoyed our stay and were very pleased with the folks there and the facility. The only thing we would like to see would be room to sit and socialize in rather than the breakfast room.... otherwise a super couple of days.

I stayed in the Country Quilt room from May 14-20, 2011 to be near Yosemite. The room was very comfortable and had all of the things I needed - small frig, TV, nice size bathroom, great bed, etc. The breakfast each morning was really good too - quiche, cakes, breads, and cereals. This place was perfect and the service was exceptional. I highly recommend it!

My wife & I spent one night prior to a next day meeting. The Inn was beautiful, the rooms exquisite, the innkeeper great, and the environment gorgeous. We wished we could have stayed longer.

This was a fun stay; the room and bed are both comfortable and clean. The staff was courteous and helpful. I appreciated their flexibility when we had to cut our stay short. This room is a corner room and big enough for a rollaway, but the king bed itself is a good size. You could sleep in this bed and not even realize someone else was sharing it with you! :) The only slight disadvantage for some is that it is on the second floor, but you do have a separate entrance via a back staircase, so you are a little off from the main area, which is very nice for those of you who appreciate a little extra privacy.

I recently stayed at the Hounds Tooth and had a wonderful stay! The Inn is very centrally located and is beautiful. We ended up arriving to the Inn before check-in as the weather at Yosemite was not quite what we were hoping for and decided to camp out in the room the rest of the day. Bill was great enough to let us upgrade our room for a much-appreciated discounted rate. The room was beautiful - and the jacuzzi tub a nice treat after a long day. I think the only area that might use some improvement is getting a hold of Bill or anyone really. Bill and his wife reside in the Inn and while we could hear people on the other side, there is often no one at the front desk. The morning we had breakfast everything was laid out but the coffee - what was left of it - had long since cooled and there was no one there to refill it. The breakfast was very good - fresh fruit, cereal, a declicious egg dish, fresh bagels and bread - light, but very good. There are a lot of dining options close to the Inn - we chose to order from a local pizza restaurant and stay in. It was nice to be close to town though in case you want to venture out. All in all, great stay and would definitely stay there again.

Nice big rooms, pleasant staff, good breakfast with wide choice of cold items and one hot dish available. One quibble: no decaf coffee available. Also, note it's 12 miles to the Yosemite entrance near the Sequoia grove, not the more famous valley, which is an hour further.

Beautiful location and perfect for our day trip to Yosemite. The Inn was clean, bright, warm and inviting. The breakfast was wonderful and the service outstanding. It was perfect for sitting outside and enjoying the beauty of the mountains. I would definitely plan to visit again!

We have been to the Hounds Tooth several years before. Our room could use an update to the 15 year old TV and light fixtures but otherwise the room was clean and nice. The owners are cordial, but I fell that they may be getting a little burned out on running a B and B. Breakfast had a good quiche and other options and was rather filling. I think that they are one of the best options for Oakhurst and in the area of Yosemite.

We travelled from the UK and wanted a base close to the Yosemite National park and my cousin who lives close by. The Houndstooth had been used by my brothers some years ago and was recommended. It very much lived up to the recommendation and we had a fantastic stay. The quality of the furnishings and style of the rooms is outstanding. The breakfast was great. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

This was our third stay at the Hounds Tooth Inn. Every one has been a wonderful experience. This was our 28th anniversary and the first place that came to mind was Hounds Tooth. We would highly recommend to anyone that needs to be pampered and loves to relax.

My husband and I recently stayed and this bed and breakfast for three nights. It was the perfect location for a peaceful getaway within easy driving distance of Yosemite's south entrance, which was exatly what we wanted. The owners were very helpful and always available. The room we stayed in (Cottage Rose) was actually bigger than we expected it to be based on the pictures, which was a nice surprise. It was very clean and comfortable. The mattress was comfy and you could change your room temperature, which was nice. The food was good, your standard continental breakfast with a delicious variation of a hot egg dish each morning. It got rather crowded one morning at breakfast as the dining room was small, so my husband and I had to sit outside. However, the other two mornings we had no trouble finding a seat inside. I have to say that even on the crowded morning, there was no lack of food available, which was nice. The wine available for free in the evenings was nice, as was the always available coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. Overall, I defintitely recommend this bed and breakfast as a quiet, cozy destination for a weekend getaway. We would love to return at some point, and we would stay here again.

I and my wife recently stayed at the hounds tooth fro 3 nights. It was an amazing stay. The rooms were meticulously kept and immaculate. Housecleaning came by daily. Hosts were friendly and helpful regarding our trips around the area. The continental breakfast is enough to fill you up in the morning. The open wine bar in the evening was a really nice touch. sitting by the fireplace having a glass of vine and reading my Kindle was very relaxing. I highly recommend this bed and breakfast. Prices were very reasonable for what you receive. We stayed in the Patio Room which had its own entrance which was also very nice. I and my wife will stay here again.

Have stayed here a number of times. Hosts are very friendly, and accommodate our needs every time we've visited. The rooms are best described as "charming" with each having it's own character and decor. The location is quiet, serene, yet easily accessible for travelers. A real gem!

This was our second stay in two years, and there is no reason why we wouldn't go back for a third time. The rooms are clean and nice, and the winter rates are very good. We've stayed in Country Quilt and Robray (the smaller rooms) and found them to be perfect for 2 people. The only issues we had during our stay were that 1) The wi-fi connection is weak in much of the B&B; and 2) Vegetarian breakfast options can be very limited depending on the day's menus (and we weren't asked about dietary restrictions)

I stayed here with my boyfriend during New Years and it was such a great bed and breakfast. It was quite and romantic and the innkeepers were very welcoming. I would definitely stay here again.

We wanted to go out of town to celebrate the New Year and planned on Yosemite. A few friends who had stayed before recommended Hounds Tooth Inn. All 3 couples were able to rent a room and it was a very comfortable stay. The staff were very pleasant and accomodating. If we go back, I would stay there again.

One day we're going to stay for a whole week, we swear. This time was only one night, but we always feel like we're coming home. The Hound's Tooth is detailed with an eye to comfort as well as aesthetics. The rooms are beautifully accommodating, the inn itself feels welcoming, and the breakfast is delicious. So many, many sweet details work together to make this inn a place done with class. Always. All ways.

My husband and I stayed at the Hounds Tooth in August '10 on a Yosemite weekend and were pleased. The bed was comfortable, everything was clean, and the food was good. I didn't care much for the decorations - wicker, flowers, and a little old for our taste, but comfortable nonetheless. It was about 15 minutes from Yosemite, so it's a great location. We probably won't stay here again because it seems to cater to an older crowd (we're 26) but it was a pleasant stay.

My family stayed in this b&b inn for this thanksgiving visit to Yosemite, first time ever. It's also my first experience on b&b and quite satisfactory overall. Room was cosy & comfy, my family enjoyed simple but good breakfast. Free coffee, tea and wine during evening was nice surprise. Private drive way to the main building was pretty and it's surrounded by nature which should be nice walk if the weather wasn't that cold. Personally, I like the tables with chairs on the backyard of the building. I would come back to this inn, again!

This is a class act establishment. After a long day's drive, a calm, pleasant and warm welcome is well-received. Bill and Anna made note that we were bringing our two sons - 4 and 7 - and the summer house was already equipped with a roll-away...no asking req'd. Nice. Great recommendations for local fare/dinner and excellent breakfast in the morning. Have absolutely nothing negative to say. Beautiful setting. Only complaint, our room lacked drawers. The tall glass cabinets had 2 cubicles that didn't close properly and the glass was missing out of one. Otherwise no complaints.

Although we only stayed 1 night at the Houndstooth, the location was perfect - near town (dining, grocery stores, etc) and about 30 minutes from Mariposa Grove in Yosemite. The Cottage Rose room was spacious, clean and comfortable with 2 chairs to sit and read, watch a movie or use the complimentary WIFI. There are 3 very friendly outdoor cats who will greet you and ask for scratches and some nice outdoor seating areas to enjoy a complimentary glass of wine. Bill offered dining suggestions and was available for questions and a prompt check out. Breakfast was delicious with an egg dish, fruit, breads, juice and coffee (although the coffee was a bit weak). Would definitely stay here again!!!

We were making a detour from our original trip to San Diego and decided to go to Yosemite first then drive down the coast to San Diego. When I went online to pick a Bed & Breakfast the Hounds Tooth Inn just caught my eye. It was better then the website expressed. The room was affordable and very charming and the breakfast served every morning was wonderful. It was a full breakfast every morning enough for you to hike all day in the park and not worry about missing lunch. I would definitely go back.

My wife and I celebrated our 37th anniversary at the Hound's Tooth Inn and had a wonderful stay!! We also came here last year for our anniversary and couldn't wait to get back. We come up from Fresno and are thankful that we don't have to drive for hours to enjoy a beatiful Bed and Breakfast. We spend the weekend taking in the beauty that surrounds us at Yosemite and the Bass Lake area. We always return home refreshed and renewed. Thanks for the great hospitality and comfortable stay. We have recommended the Hound's Tooth Inn to many friends and family members. We know they will not be disappointed with their visit!!

The warm welcome you get when you enter the doors is so inviting you don't want to leave. The rooms are clean and beautiful. We recommend the Hounds Tooth Room for exceptional comfort and privacy.

Hounds Tooth Inn was as lovely as the photos; kind innkeepers; wonderful breakfasts; spotlessly clean room, the most comfortable bed. Expect a 15-20 minute drive from the gate of Yosemite, as the road is as twisty outside the park as in. Well worth the trip.

We only stayed one night at the Hound's Tooth, but it was enjoyable and restful. The room was tastefully decorated and the building well constructed. This last item was important as Hwy 41 is located nearby and there might have been a lot of noise.

We were celebrating our anniversary and was a first time visit. We stayed in the Willow Corner. Our room was like a heavenly retreat and the spa was beautiful ( we loved the mirrors in the background:)) Be prepared it does take about 20 minutes to fill. The room was very clean upon arrival, the area was quiet, and the innkeepers very helpful and courteous. Beautiful eating area with wine and beverages at your disposal. It was also filled with menus of local resturants. We will positively be back!!

Came in on a Thursday night to meet a backpacking group Friday morning. I stayed in the Cottage Rose room (chosen because it was least expensive of the available rooms). Easy to find, right on Hwy 41 just past the main section of town. Plenty of parking. Super clean, nice amenities, wi-fi in my room, and a nice continental breakfast. No complaints here.

Breakfast was missed as it was just not early enough for a saturday morning with places to go.
