Napa Old World Inn

WOW!, what a wonderful place. The Old World Inn (we stayed at the one on Polk) was extremely charming, our room #12 was fantastic, and the breakfasts and desserts were wonderfully delicious. Also, we really enjoyed the wine tasting every night. Talk to Russ before you head to the wineries, he has great recommendations and tasting coupons! I think we found a permanent place to stay when we're in Napa. See you next time!

My wife and i stayed in thier private cottage and it really was private. We loved it. Their attention to detail was really what made our stay even better. My wife really loved how they even supply q tips and these little pads that helped to remove her make up. Another little uniqe thing they had was journal that was on top of the firplace mantel. Anyone who stays in that room can write and add thier own chapter for future guest to read. We loved reading some of those entries. We will be returning!

My wife and I (as well as two other couples) were looking for a B & B in Napa to do our first tour of the Napa valley with the usual touristy type events: tastings, dinings, etc. The napa world inn website/video looked too good to be true, especially with the great price. I hesitantly booked the three rooms for our group and when we arrived from Florida, all of our expecatations were exceeded. The rooms, service, breakfast......in fact, every facet of our stay was completely wonderful. It will be hard not returning to this B & B for our subsequent trips to Napa valley.

We stayed 5 days / 4 nights at Napa Old World Inn. It is a delightfully charming place with the most helpful staff in the world. The breakfast(s) were incredible, not only satisfyingly delicious, but exceptionally presented as well. We hope to return to Napa Old World Inn.

We felt like we had a "King and Queen" experience and loved everything from the room to breakfast in bed as well as the massages...thank you so much for making this experience one we will never forget! This was our first time at the "Napa old world inn"! We could not have been more pleased! Althought this is an old B&B, it was an excellent stay,the staff and food were beyond our expectations! We would recommend staying here and know your stay would be enjoyed as much as ours!

We had a lovely time at the Old World Inn in Napa. The rooms were very nice. The staff was exceptionally helpful. The price was great, I would have expected higher for the experience we had. A great value and a very relaxing get away spot!

Upon arrival, we were welcomed warmly by the Inn manager with cookies, tea, and a wine-tasting reception. Our room was perfect! A state of the art video/audio system with scores of movies to choose from, a two-person jacuzzi tub, and a comfortable bed all added to the total relaxation of the night. We loved our stay in Napa and the Bed and Breakfast the Old World Inn was beautiful. This was our first stay here and we will definately be back. As our first B and B stay we were nervous as too what to expect, but we were both very happy and fell in love.

This was our first time ever staying in a B&B and we had no idea what to expect...the Old World Inn FAR exceeded anything we'd dreamed of! Our room, La Biblioteca, was small but had a big projector tv, fireplace, and the cutest/cleanest bathroom. We were greeted by Tom who was very friendly and helpful. The wine tastings in the main room are so fun b/c you get drinks, snacks, and conversation with people from all over the world! One of the best parts of our stay was the breakfasts! The food is unbelievable and we were stuffed and satisfied each morning. I would recommend Old World Inn to anyone!

We stayed in the Sole room, which was indeed small but as long as you know that going in you wont be disappointed. The staff was great and extremely friendly. They put delicious snacks out in the evening and even have private wine tastings and events in the cellar. Location is perfect and walking distance from everything downtown Napa has to offer. And lastly, from what I can tell when we booked our stay, it is the absolute best value for travelers on a budget.

Absolutely Lovely, so welcoming, can't wait to go back.

My husband and I had a much-too-short stay at the Old World Inn! There were many little touches like coffee presses all ready to go, a huge selection of movies to borrow, chocolates and cookies available, a delicious breakfast and many fabulous restuarants walking distance to the Inn. Our room (Aqua) was very pretty and inviting and the jacuzzi tub was a perfect touch. My only comment is that this room is right across from the wine cellar, which is where breakfast was served, so it was a little noisy in the morning. But everyone was very friendly, the room and inn were clean and inviting...can't wait to go back!

This BnB was absolutely amazing. We went just for the weekend and I found myself not wanting to leave. Great food and service! The chocolates at night were the icing on the cake so-to-speak. Would definitely stay there again and recommend to everyone!

My other half and I came to the Old World Inn for our 2nd anniversary. Didn't know what to expect exactly, but had a magical time. The staff was extremely polite and helpful, Cookies at check-in, chocolates at night, and wine pouring in the evening?? What more could you ask for?!?!?! It was a wonderful and amazing experience. WE WILL BE BACK!!!!!!

The Napa World Inn is a great place to stay. We got an incredible deal (late November), better than other inns in the area. The room was super clean, the bed was incredibly comfortable, the bathroom had a jacuzi spa tub. The gourmet breakfast was wonderful and filling. The personal-sized french presses, available 24-7 in regular and decaf, is the perfect touch. They even offered to mail a pillow we left behind to us! Great place, highly recommended!!

Lovely innkeepers, warm, friendly.. great accommodations, great food. Perfect location in the heart of Napa. Stayed here three nights and had a wonderful time!!

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we had a magical relaxing stay at the Old World Inn. Personal touches such as providing soy milk for my lactose intolerance to a personalized welcome card in the room were surprising and appreciated effort. The extras like the amaretto soaked chocolate cake and the amusing wine tasting (that was educational as well) made this B&B a great value. Last but not least, the breakfast was great too - all food groups and a substantial serving - I had to pass half of the egg/cheese/potato souffle garnished with mango salsa to my husband to finish. We'll be talking about our stay for years!

Our bathroom was huge and immaculate. The bed was very comfortable. The innkeepers have thought of every detail to make the stay wonderful. I wish we could have stayed longer.

My husband and I stayed at the Napa Old World Inn for three night in November for our honeymoon. I couldn't of asked for a better room (aqua room) which was very large and beautiful. We had breakfast in bed which was delicious. The inn keepers were very helpful with any questions you might of had about restaurants or wine tours. I would recommend this B&B to anyone it was perfect. :-)

We only stayed one night but loved it! The beauty of the Inn was fantastic. You really felt you were in a different time. The bed was very comfortable and the projection TV was great. Breakfast was delicious! So relaxing we didn't want to leave! We really liked the infused water that was always in the dining room. I'd love to stay in a bigger room next time! Thank you!

after doing a lot of research i selected old world inn because it was in downtown napa and we were going to the uptown theater for a show. we live in the bay area but didn't want to drive home late at night. liked the size between a small B and B and a small hotel so you had some privacy. the room was small but great. lovely sophisticated decor and great bathroom. wonderful bedding and towels. fireplace and tv were also appreciated. owners were friendly and helpful. wine tasting in the evening was nice and breakfast in the am good. very happy with my choice.

Stayed one night and loved the place. We booked the Walden Cottage at the back of the property and really liked the extra space and peace/quiet. Old World Inn location allowed us to abandon our car for a while and walk around Napa on a beautiful fall day before coming back for the small wine tasting event provided for all of the guests. We had chosen the "breakfast in bed" option for the following morning and, at a little after 9am, the food was brought out to the cottage. As early risers, we were already up and had debated leaving before breakfast was served. Luckily, we didn't as breakfast was completely awesome. My wife and I had one of the best nights ever. We enjoyed the jacuzzi and Vic was a superb host. He was very knowledgeable. When we experienced some problems operating the television, the inn owner personally came to our room to troubleshoot. We loved the warm colors and extensive wood. The recent renovation is authentic and classic. We loved the dining area in the cellar. Breakfast was modest and pleasant. We received curbside travel service to the airport and the location was perfect. We would return next month if our schedules permitted. D and D Jones

We stayed in Sole room 1 during our visit, it was the perfect size for the two of us. Great location we were able to walk downtown. Russ was very helpful with dining and winery suggestions and even offered to make reservations for us. We were also able to get a free wine tasting just by mentioning that we were staying at the Old World Inn. Great visit and we can't wait to come back!

The Old World Inn offered us great rooms and went that extra step with fantastic breakfasts, unique coffee, and special late night dessert treats. Would definitely stay here again! Loved the Victorian house.

We stayed for a quick vacation in wine country and were pleasantly surprised with the Old World Inn in Napa. Tom the Innkeeper was very helpful and the breakfast was gourmet and delicious! We stayed in "A night in Paris" room and it was small but had everything we could possibly need for a quick vacation. I would recommend The Old World Inn to all my friends.

My husband and I stayed there only one day/night and we were SO sad to leave. It was truly a wonderful place. Very romantic but would also be a cute place for a girls' weekend or even a small family. Everyone there was super friendly and accommodating. The room was absolutely wonderful (we stayed in Bella Tuscany). You have all the charm and coziness of a bed and breakfast here but with lots of amenities as well. They have a whole wall of DVDs for you to use, full access to the kitchen, etc. When we arrived they had a wine tasting going on that we got to partake in, and they have fun little things like a midnight chocolate buffet and the breakfast was wonderful. Thank you so much for an unforgettable stay, we would definitely recommend this place to anyone. Also very reasonable price!

This was our first trip to Napa and we had an excellent time at the Napa Old World Inn. The rooms were small but just what you need, the breakfast was AMAZING and the walk to down took less than 5 minutes. Very very worth it!

They recommend the Platypus tour and it was very good, dont miss Yountville and Sonoma very nice towns !!!

Russ and Sharon are excellent hosts and business owners as far as I can tell. This is what a B&B should be about. Sharon not only had excellent suggestions for dinner locally but made the reservation and put in a special request for a table by the fire b/c we had mentioned we'd like that. In the morning Russ made us a delicious breakfast and then took an exceptional amount of time to show us exactly where to go and where to avoid going in Napa. The service was phenomenal, the Inn is gorgeous and I will certainly be staying at the Old World Inn again. One mention is that some of the rooms are on the small side but they're beautiful rooms so that didnt bother us.

The innkeepers go above and beyond to make your stay great and worthy of returning to. We loved all the small details in this b&b that helped make it so wonderful. One of my top fav b&b of all time!

The Napa Old World Inn had a very convenient location and the beds were just like sleeping on a cloud!!! The atmosphere was exactly as you would imagine...just like home! The Inn keeper was extremely helpful when asked his recommendations on restaurants as well as winerys to visit. The only downside we found was the parking. It was pretty cramped and limited, yet we found it hard to park on the street as we were not too comfortable parking a rental car on the curve in a 5 lane road! Other than that, it was a wonderful experience!!!

We had a great time at the Old World Inn. The room was very nice and staff was very helpful with suggestions and dinner reservations. We met some great people staying at the Inn and enjoyed our whole experience. The location was great and a short walk to downtown Napa. The wine tasting every evening was a very nice touch. The treats that were left out every evening were nice to have after returning from dinner and a night on the town. The breakfast each morning was unbelievable. We had a great time and would recommend it to everyone. We will be back.

Six of us stayed in one cottage and it was a great experience. Our cottage had a total of 3 seperate rooms. Two couples stayed in the Terra 2 room. It had a little kitchenette and a small room attached. The beds are very comfy and everything is so clean! We even had a small balcony. The other couple stayed in the Acqua room. The bathtub in that suite was HUGE with JETS! We all were very comfortable and loved the gas fireplaces. It is a wonderful place to stay and the staff is very friendly!

We had a great visit at the Old World Inn. This was our first stay at a bed and breakfast and loved it. The breakfasts in the morning were creative and delicious. We also loved sitting by the fire pit at night visiting with other people staying at the Inn.

We were visiting Napa to celebrate our 1st Anniversary. We had been to Napa a year before and stayed at one of the expensive high end hotel chains. The friends we travelled with had stayed at the Old World Inn few years ago and raved about it. I trusted their opinion but didn't think much about it and didn't really think it would be as amazing as it was. When we first walked in, we were greeted and showed around the house. I was so beautiful, clean and quaint but the amenities were even more appreciated. The amazing breakfast each morning, I'm not talking bagels and muffins but a full blown amazing hot breakfast with your own personal french press for coffee. The wine and cheese tastings at night in the beautiful "wine cellar" were so nice to come end the day with. And lets not forget the homemade desserts!! The experience was so special and so perfect. I HIGHLY recommend this Inn. We can't wait to go back, and if we do, forget the chains, this place is really an experience not just a place to sleep.

We stayed 4 days at the Napa Old World Inn. The location is fantastic. Walking to all of downtown Napa. The room s are clean, quiet and very comfortable. Plenty of parking. Included breakfasts and wine and cheese happy hour were excellent. The staff helped with discount wine tasting coupons. It was one of the better stays I have had in years. Wonderful inn! The innkeepers were very friendly and made us feel welcome right away. The inn has many small special touches, like french press coffee, afternoon cookies, and soothing music playing in the lobby. Additionally they feature a daily wine tasting from the area. The food was excellent- both the breakfast and evening desserts. The inn was well kept, very clean, and smelled fresh. No complaints; an excellent place to stay!

It was our first trip to Napa and wanted to stay at a bed and breakfast. We were extremely happy with our choice at Old World Inn. The owners are friendly and helpful when you need a recommendation for dinner or tastings. Our room exceeded our expectations and we loved every minute of our stay. The B&B was extremely relaxing - it was an experience absolutely perfect for our Napa Valley vacation. We were sad to leave and wish we had booked another night there. Just another reason to return to Napa Valley! We definitely plan to return to Old World Inn.

The houses are beautiful and the rooms are just as nice. We stayed in the Private Cottage and would definitely recommend the room. The breakfasts were beyond delicious. The houses are within walking distance to downtown Napa. The cookies and cakes in the evening were also great!

We were met by Tom after entering the front door and the establishment was everything we thought it would be. Often purchasing things on the internet you find thing are not as they appeared, not here. The room was perfect, the food in the morning was top notch, and the service superior. There isn't one thing we woudl have changed. We WILL BE BACK!!!

My husband and I stayed at this Inn on our recent trip to Napa. The room that we stayed in had everything that we needed, we slept very comfortably, they have the best beds. The breakfast in the morning was outstanding, and very delicious. The owners of the Inn are very hospitable and helpful. This charming quaint old home was just what the doctor ordered! A shot of romance and relaxation to our ailing relationship...a bouquet of flowers to greet us in the room, breakfast in bed while watching a big screen and well...the jacuzzi tub! The Alegria room was very much that. The evening wine tastings were great as well...followed by a nice stroll into downtown Napa for dinner all made for a wonderful experience!

The friendliness and service at the Old World Inn were wonderful. It was my first stay in a bed and breakfast and it far exceeded my expectations! My daughter and I had a great mother/daughter weekend experience.

Russ and Sharon have a passion for what they do and it shows. The inn is kept in spectacular shape, Our room was cozy with large bathroom. The little details made a huge difference, from the fresh cookies to the detailed map of restaraunts and tasting rooms all within walking distance. The map was must have for first timers like ourselves looking for places to eat. Its a a great location in a neighborhood, with a safeway across the street in case you did forget any toiletries you need. We really enjoyed the wonderful breakfast, snacks (cookies and chocolate) and wine tastings. We were introduced to some wineries during the private tastings offered daily that were spectacular. Anyone looking for their first time B&B experience should check this place out.

My wife and I had only 1 night to stay in Napa, but we were so pleased with our experience at Old World Inn. The proprietor is himself a wine expert and shared his knowledge of local wineries, plus got us a pass for a free tasting at a lovely local, family owned place. The service, room, and meals showed a fanatical eye for detail, down to the handmade soap (my wife loved that) and the angle of the flat screen TV for "prone" viewing. The room was in the main inn and somewhat small, but it was thoughtfully designed and all the furniture and fixtures were top-notch - excellent king size bed. The in-room fireplace and jet tub provide a nice touch for romantic weekends. Worth the price, and you can't beat the location. Parking is free and convenient, right behind the hotel, and we walked into town for a wonderful dinner (again, the hosts made us reservations as soon as we walked in the door). Must better experience than our hotel in SF.

We loved our stay at Old World Inn. The breakfasts were really something very special! Seems like they fed us all day long- homebaked cookies at 3:00, wine tasting at 5:30, and chocolates at 7:00. We were able to walk to all the best restuarants. Perfect for a "girls" weekend. Will definitely come back!

Wish I could keep this my little secret but Old World Inn was the best B&B we've ever stayed in. The room was gorgeous -- the bathroom -- HUGE! The food was wonderful. We had to check out early but still got personalized food service, a meal prepared in advance for us to keep in the fridge and grab on our way out. Don't miss the evening wine tasting and dessert bar. It's a nice way to cap off a long day in Napa. We will definitely be returning.

We recently stayed in the Bella Tuscany room at the Old World inn in Napa. The location was perfect for walking into the town for dinner and entertainment as well as within driving distance to some of the greatest wineries in the world. The people at the inn wer extremely friendly and helpful in leading us to some great places to visit. The friendly environment was great for meeting and enjoying the other guests. Our room though small was extremely comfortable and was an experience in itself with the jucuzi tub and large screen TV/DVD. We felt kind of like we were in Italy. We fully recommend this BB to our friends and plan to visit again next time we are in Napa.

We stayed at Old World Inn over Labor Day weekend and loved everything about our stay. The service we received during our stay was great. The room we stayed in was very charming and just as the website had described, so we knew it was going to be a little small, but we loved it!!!! The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was very nice with a jacuzzi tub. The breakfast was fabulous as well as the evening desserts. We were highly impressed each day of our stay. We will definetely stay here every time we return to Napa. I will recommend Old World Inn to everyone.

We recently visited the Old World Inn in Napa, California for my Husband's 43rd Birthday. We were both quite impressed from the moment we walked in the door! It is a beautiful inn throughout and our room was extremely comfortable and beautifully furnished. The hospitality of the staff was superb and the food was wonderful! The only drawback was leaving and as we drove away we were already talking about going back; it won't be soon enough! It is joy that lives in this place and you feel it from the moment you walk in. I highly reccommend that you go and see for yourself what is so special about the Old World Inn in Napa!

Stayed Fri-Mon in the end of July 2011. Rooms were just as expected, we shared Suite 1 with another couple and had the Jack-n-Jill bathroom to share. Only hard part about that was trying to get ready in the bedroom with no mirror to use. Breakfasts were good;pretty similar each day with an egg/cheese casserole-type dish, fruit, and a bread. Fresh coffee with coffee presses also available. Parking was a little tough in the back, ended up parking on the street. Everyone was nice, rooms were clean, many DVDs to choose from, and a nice patio with fire pit available to hang out around. Would absolutely recommend.

We rely on reviews when making a decision on where to spend our money. Every B&B my sister and I have stayed in on this four week trip has been great, even spectacular. This will be my first negative review for a B&B, and that includes all previous trips with my husband. To summarize: The best part of this stay was the location (1301 Jefferson in Napa). It is close to downtown Napa, within walking distance. The price we paid ($199.00 before taxes for both rooms) was fair for the room we received. We had two very small bedrooms with king size beds (just enough room to walk around the bed) and a small shared bathroom with only a shower. There is a HUGE flat screen television in each bedroom mounted on the wall. No internet in our rooms. We did try to connect to the internet in the dining room of the main house. Another couple staying upstairs at the main house were having the same problems. We ended up being unsuccessful. The main house was tired, dusty and dirty. Our "cottage" rooms were clean but the bathroom was unclean (hair in the shower). The wine tasting in the evening -- it just would be better to not offer a wine tasting -- when you offer a wine tasting in Napa, you need to be better than this. The "home-baked-cookies" and the chocolate treats offered with the wine were poor quality (or stale). The breakfast was good. The young man checking us in was courteous and helpful. For us, the B&B is part of the experience and adds so much to the overall enjoyment of an area. After a wonderful day of exploration, having a beautiful "home" seals the trip. Though my husband and I have been to Napa / Sonoma several times, my sister and I decided to try somewhere new. Because we wanted this particular trip to be fluid, it was our custom to research our next day's stay online and then make reservations. If available, we chose B&B's over hotels. This trip's B&B stays were more frequent given that many now embrace single night stays. This inn has such potential, even great ideas but very poor execution. If the owners are interested, here are the things we saw: Clean, polish, clean. Especially an old house. With all that beautiful wood, if it is dusty, then the entire place looks dirty. Make sure your front and back doors are clean and well-maintained (first impressions). Clean the staircase. Vacuum the carpets. Clean the windows. Your guests are looking out the windows -- especially the window right above the office nook. Paint. There were so many areas outside that needed cleaning and touch-ups. Clean the front porch. Fix and paint the front steps (and the back steps also). Fix the front gate (first impressions). Groom the outside. Don't do a wine tasting -- a wine-tasting done poorly in Napa is glaring. Don't offer cookies or treats done poorly or stale. Make sure the person cleaning the rooms is wearing a hair net (it could be the hair in our shower was from the person cleaning and not the previous tenant). I do wish you well. Your inn does have great potential especially given its location.

On a positive note, the reception was friendly and informative; there are scheduled wine tastings (in the other property -- which might be the better option and the one that people rave about;) the location cannot be beat -- it is walking distance to downtown Napa's many restaurants and summer events-- so after a long day driving around the Wine Country it is a treat to be able to walk about and enjoy the evening; and, the concierges (reception managers) gave many suggestions and let us know what was going on in Napa on that day. But...the room was small and crowded (the room does not justice to it's picture) -- too many pieces of furniture that were not user-friendly and, the bathroom was totally unacceptable! It was old and run-down, the sink was half-falling off and it has so many black scratches it looked filthy, very poor lighting in a windowless bathroom, and the club-footed bathtub is also "very tired" so it is not inviting nor practical. In addition, there are no choices offered for breakfast such as fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal...same dishes are served to all guests -- one day's menu...orange juice, berry compote, a cheesy-bread "dense" souffle and a berry scone with coffee.

Our stay was a special occasion...my son's 40th...I wanted everything to be close to perfect... As we arrived the temperatures outside were in the 50s and 60s. the parlor felt like a refrigerator.There was no place to warm up except the bathtub..Outside was cold and breezy, and the rooms were air conditioned 24 hrs.I was told to turn on a small fireplace in the room,.Even after closing all vents, we froze The small heater began to emit "plastic burning" smell which got worse everyday...I alerted Innkeeper Her reply was, " she would get her husband to look at it tomorrow"... For 4 nights and 4 breakfasts, we froze At over $250/ night, I find this ridiculous...It was cold outside, but no attempt was made to turn down the A/C or find us a heater that did not smell of plastic...I find the responses of the Inn keepers... that they could do nothing about turning down the A/C, and the coolness in the rooms ridiculous and irresponsible...All of the guests we talked to were using A/C and heat at the same time... I had to wear 3 layers and socks to bed each night...I also noted that in my room, none of the three shades over the bay windows could open, so I had to roll them and prop them in order to have some outdoor light; The TV screen was left in a hanging position as they said it had broken the day before...no attempt was made to fix it; And there was a lot of mildew on the window sills in the bathroom... I am angry that I had to spend 4 nights and any time spent in the parlor/ dining area, freezing cold, and uncomfortable; In addition I feel that the one hour slot for breakfast to be served, is very short.. I was disappointed ...not so much in the state of disrepair of this older house,but in the lack of responsible solutions to my discomfort at the cold, and the lack of attempt to repair the broken items in the room.....

We knew this was an important occasion & really tried to make it special. We're so sorry that didn't happen. We feel terrible about this and want to personally apologize and thank this guest for her feedback. Sadly, we could not make the needed fireplace repairs while she was in the Allegria room. We offered to move her to another lovely room ("Starry Night"), but she did not want to repack or have us move her luggage. We did repair/replace both fireplace & window treatments as soon as she checked out. We're sorry the roll down TV screen got stuck "down" (it still works, beautifully, and will be replaced by a 50" flatscreen soon). We are so sorry things were too cold for her. We repeatedly adjusted both room and house air conditioning each day, until we started getting complaints from other guests that it was too hot. She still felt it was too cold. Since she did not allow us to move her luggage, we eventually gave her keys to TWO ROOMS, so she could sleep in Starry Night & keep her clothes in Allegria! We spoke daily with this guest during her stay & she continually told us how wonderful everything was & how much she loved staying here. Her only complaint was the cold, which we really worked on, every day, while trying to keep our other guests happy and not too hot. We honestly had no idea she was this unhappy/dissatisfied, based on all of the accolades & compliments she gave us during her stay. We will continue to work--diligently-- with all of our guests to make their stay here special and memorable. We want you to love your stay with us! My wife and I stayed at Napa Old World Inn for 4 nights for our honeymoon in April, 2010. We had the most amazing time! We stayed in the Biblioteca room, which was cozy, quiet, comfortable, and clean. My wife loved the claw-foot tub, I loved the projection screen TV for watching movies. The food was phenomenal every day, and the individual French press coffee pots they provide all day were great for an afternoon reading on the porch. Location is perfect- easy walk to Napa's restaurants, and the staff were super-helpful. Such an amazing experience, we can't wait to go back someday for an anniversary!

After reading the favorable reviews, I had high expectations. On the day of arrival, the man that checked us in, spoke so quickly that both my husband and I missed most of what he said regarding mealtimes, etc. There was never anyone at the front desk to actually speak with or offer suggestions on dining , tours or wineries. The room appeared smaller than in the pics. No towel racks in bathroom so floor was soaked everytime. Using a hairdryer blew the fuse a few days. After being out of soap for 2 days, had to leave a written request for another one. Thankfully I brought my own. Sheets had a damp/dirty odor. We stayed on the 1st floor in the suites in the building next to the main house. It sounded like the person upstairs was coming thru the ceiling. On a positive note, it was pretty clean. The breakfast was delicious. The afternoon wine & cheese was nice. However, they never actually served cheese and when the bottle or 2 of wine was gone, that was it. The location was 5 min from downtown napa. We stayed for 6 days and the owner didn't even recognize us as guests. Didn't get a warm, welcoming feeling. It's not a bad place to stay for the price. Most places are higher. Next time, I'll try a different B&B. If staying there, try for the main house (not the suites).

The staff was wonderful, but our stay was terrible. We were not told that it was all vegetarian breakfast. The gentleman I spoke with was not accommodating regarding my diabetic diet, only offered oatmeal which is also off limits. There is no soundproofing between the rooms or from the street noise. There are no gardens and no buffer from the street.

Wow, we've asked bedandbreakfast.com to forward a note to this guest, as this has never happened before. Many guests that stay with us have special dietary needs, and we try like crazy to accommodate them. We often ask what will work, and what won't. Our special "Napa Scramble" is a top choice for diabetic guests (farm fresh eggs or egg whites lightly scrambled with a special selection of Napa herbs). And many of our breakfast entrees are already diabetic friendly-- perhaps this was on a day we served caramel French Toast? The noise also concerns us, as this doesn't come up, either. We've asked the folks at bedandbreakfast.com to pass on a personal note of apology from us, and to ask the guest which room they were in. We're hoping we can figure out the source of the noise, and correct it. We're awfully sorry these folks didn't talk to us when they were here--we love taking care of people, and making sure they're having a good time. We want everyone who comes to the Napa Valley to have a wonderful, memorable experience. It sounds like this didn't happen for these folks, and we deeply regret this. The Oldworld Inn is a lovely place to stay for a weekend or longer and explore the wine region of Napa and around. Our room was great, 4-poster bed, breakfast corner, big flatscreen tv, fireplace and a huge bathroom with a big shower, 2 basins and a spa-bath. We were travelling with a baby and they provided a cot/crib for us and they brought us breakfast to our room every morning. I suspect that if you stay in the main building then you have breakfast together in a room. There were cookies in the afternoons, wine-tasting sessions early eve and some taster choc desserts - all for free for the guests. The staff were very helpful and friendly. All in all we had a lovely stay and would definately stay there again if we ever came back to visit that region again. Very highly recommended!

The inn provided an excellent country style luxury for our mid-week getaway from the cold foggy San Francisco. We were surprised by the personalized service we received. The greeting card on the bed with our names is just one of the examples. The room is not big, but very cozy. I have to stress the jacuzzi tub and the bed. After the jacuzzi, we lied on the bed and wow, it was so comfortable that we didn't even bother watching the DVD already in the player and dropped into deep sleep within 3 minutes. It was the best sleep we had, ever. The breakfast is very delicious and yet healthy. All day tea and coffee and after dinner dessert just made the already amazing stay even more outstanding.

Room: Although the bed was very comfortable, the house, grounds and rooms are in desperate need of maintenance and an extra-effort cleaning. You can decorate all you want, but that does not make up for broken/missing tile, wood that is aged and severely worn, dirt in corners/cracks, etc. In addition, there is no cable service. They only provide broadcast channels. The breakfast was excellent and above expectations. The location is close to downtown, which made it easy to walk to restaurants. However, it is on a busy/wide street and next to an office building with a parking lot. All said, I would not stay at this location again.

Wow, this review comes as quite a shock. We note that this is a "first time" B&B experience for the reviewer, and that they normally stay at premium lodging (ie 5 star) hotels or resorts. So perhaps being in a 100+ year old home with all its original woodwork and tile was off-putting? We're also puzzled by the comments of the house being dirty. We're clean freaks (check all of our other reviews), and have a reputation for being much more clean/tidy than even five star hotels. So again, this puzzles us. We're in the midst of trying to find out more specifics-- where this reviewer saw problems. Why? Because we want to fix 'em! We're obsessed with having a comfy, homey spot for folks to stay in the Napa Valley. We want it to feel as though you're staying at a friend's home. So please stay tuned-- we'll post an update to this, outlining all of the concerns identified in the reviewer's post. We found the Old World Inn by perusing online...the website was easy to navigate and gave an accurate picture of the rooms. We called for a 3 night booking just 2 days in advance and were accommodated with a beautiful room, the Bella Tuscany. Upon arrival we were very impressed with the home, hospitality and welcome we received. Coming from Australia, and the first time at a B&B, my boyfriend and I were very impressed and will absolutely stay again on our next trip through the Napa Valley. Highlights were the comfy featherbed, the spa tub inside our room, delicious breakfasts, wine and nibbles every evening, among a very comfortable home. Staff were friendly and helpful in recommending restaurants (with menus available to view), wineries, massages, etc. Our three days here in this 1906 home created a wonderful memory for us to cherish...we highly recommend you stay at the Old World Inn!

When we booked our room, it was done in a fast, efficient and pleasant manner. By the time we arrived all we had to do was be shown the house by a gracious host, Joy, who put us at ease. Our room was way beyond our expectations, especially considering we were here for relaxation. Our bed and furnishings were very clean and plush. The projection screen excited my husband and I (we are great movie lovers!) The toiletries were beyond exceptional and the courtesy black washcloth for makeup was very thoughtful. We will be back most definitely and will recommend to friends and family.

Upon arrival we were greeted and given a tour of the Inn. Once we got up to our room (Allegria) we were very delighted by the room's decor and warmth that it offered. The bed was so comfortable that we fell fast asleep within minutes of laying down. In the morning the breakfast was set up in the dining room and served with a wonderful presentation. The other guests that came down for breakfast were wonderful too. The atmosphere was truly wonderful like a bunch of friends gathering for a meal. This was my 1st B&B and I truly enjoyed every minute of it. Thank you for giving us a peaceful, romantic encounter.

This is our first stay at a bed & breakfast and this place has exceeded our expectations. We usually stay at hotels but thought that this would be a nice change. The service is excellent and we were made welcome by the extremely nice & knowledgable staff (Vic & Christine). Vic was able to recommend an excellent restaurant for dinner, Celadon, which was really good. The chocolates when we arrived back from dinner was amazing and we were able to relax and enjoy the rest of our night in the cottage in the back. The whole experience was wonderful and we would definitely stay here again. I will also recommend this place to all my friends. It's a definite must stay place!

We came to Old World Inn by way of Oprah. Well, not exactly, but our friend told us it was recommended by her. We felt reassured and upon arrival we were excited by the exquisite service and offerings. Our hosts reached out to us on a daily basis to make sure our needs were met. From wine tastings to dinner reservations and suggestions. Our room was the Secret Garden, which offers a vast side room with a two person jacuzzi. After spending our days visiting Napa, Calistoga and surrounding areas it was so great to come back to Old World Inn for wine and cheese every night. The combination of a delectable breakfast, whether served in our room or in the dinning room, the service which created a great experience, or opportunities to relax after a tiring day makes Old World Inn my #1 choice in Napa.

I found the Old World Inn through the marvels of Google. There were many B&Bs in Napa to choose from, but something about this one stood out. Maybe it was the fresh baked cookies upon check in or the wine and cheese reception, whatever it was that got me here, I'm sure glad it did. I booked a room online, but when we arrived we were given the option to keep our original room at the sister property across the street or stay in the original inn. We chose the Allegria room in the original inn. We had the best nights sleep we'd had all vacation. The comfy king size bed was so luxurious with plenty of pillows that we faded quickly to sleep. The projection tv was a great way to relax whether you're watching from the bed or the Jacuzzi tub. The bathroom was a bit cramped but all the other amenities and impeccable service well made up for any minor complaint I would have. The breakfast and chocolates were incredible and I've already recommended my sister stay here and experience the Old World Inn for herself.

We came up for an anniversary date, with cheese and bread and plans to taste wine. Having found some excellent wines in the tasting rooms in town, we retired to our room intending to dress for dinner, but instead picniced in our lovely room, and drank wine in the jacuzzi tub. It was perfect, sitting under the stars. Waking up to clouds scudding by above our bed was a real bonus too. In a way, staying in Starry Night was a wonderful combination of being outdoors but with all the comfort you could wish for.

I had planned the weekend to surprise my girlfriend for her birthday. She loved the entire experience. It was even better when our innkeeper helped to book the massages and played along in delivering her presents too. Great service for unbeatable price.

With my parents watching our two kids and a business trip in the area, my wife and I decided to take a weekend getaway to Napa Valley. After choosing the Old World Inn based on high recommendations on the website-we were pleased upon arriving. Immediately, the friendly courteous innkeepers helped us feel right at home. The B&B itself is in extraordinary shape-beautifully appointed, and very clean! The evening sweets and wine and cheese hour made our stay a social experience, as well. The breakfasts are gourmet-more cuisine than just food. All in all our weekend getaway was better than we'd ever imagined-thanks to the Old World Inn!

This was our first stay in a B&B and could not have been happier. The service was wonderful and the Inn was comfortable and cozy! We stayed in one of the smaller rooms but there was absolutely nothing lacking! The bed was cozy, fireplace was beautiful and the bathroom was filled with everything possible! Coming back from a few hours of wine tasting, a great cheese and wine spread was great and the outside area was a perfect place to relax. The Inn smelled liked freshly baked cookies and scones ALL DAY! The location is a plus-we did not get in our car from the time we got back from tasting to when we left the next morning. We were only here for 1 night but will no doubt be back for a longer stay in the future! And will definitely recommend the Inn to family & friends!

If you would like to go to a place that is quaint and so pretty with excellent service this is your place to be! You will have delicious breakfast and have cheese & crackers as a snack and wonderful dessert chocolates all made at the inn by the chefs on staff. I don't drink wine (or any alcoholic beverages), but I always enjoy the Napa Valley for the beautiful weather, great golf courses, fabulous restaurants and unique shops. Believe it or not, I also enjoy visiting wineries and just being a wandering tourist. This was my second stay in a B&B and it was, again, a memorable experience at the Old World Inn. The Chocolat room was terrific, including the home theater set up, the food was excellent and the other guests were warm, friendly and entertaining. The hostess was also very friendly and helped make our stay a lasting memory in the Napa Valley.

We really enjoyed our stay at this charming B&B in Napa. The B&B was close to great nearby restaurants and provided wonderful breakfasts. We were extremely pleased with our experience here and would highly recommend it to others looking for a B&B in Napa.

What a delightful place to spend a weekend! My parents booked two nights here for a birthday present, and what a great present it was! From the first moment we stepped into the Old World Inn, we felt extremely welcome and right at home. Janie & Ryan were fantastic hosts and they gave us terrific recommendations for wineries and restaurants. This is definitely a new favorite, and my husband & I can't wait to come back!

My wife and I decided to come here for our 1 year wedding anniversary. We were told about the new cottages when we called to make our reservations. Since they were new they didn't have any pictures on their website. The moment we opened the door to our room we were blown away! The bed had a white sheer canopy which gave it a nice elegance complemented with the fireplace right across from it. We felt like we could've stayed in our room the entire time and felt secluded from the rest of the world. Our favorite part was the in room massages and breakfast in bed. It was the perfect way to relax and to kick start our stay here. The jacuzzi tub was awesome and a nice extra to have. This place was a great find! My wife lived down the street from the Old world inn for two years and never knew it was here. We definitely will be coming back and recommending this place to our family and friends.

We found the Old World Inn online-doing a random search and then searched for it on trip advisor and saw that it got amazing reviews, so we thought we'd check it out. We couldn't have been more impressed when we arrived. Our room was BEAUTIFUL and the bathroom was HUGE! We also loved the classical music and the big TV with DVD player. The breakfasts have been awesome, and we loved the fact that tea/cereal/milk/yummy cookies were always available! The desserts left out at night were amazing also. We thought this Inn was a GREAT value for our money!! We felt well rested, relaxed and happy at the end of our stay. Thank you so much for a great Napa experience!!

This B&B was terrific. The bed was unbelievably comfortable and the room had fantastic amenities. The little things like the clean soft bath robes and pull down projector screen entertainment made the room a pleasure to kick back and relax in. Refreshements were always provided downstairs in the dining room, and the breakfast was gourmet and exquisite! We loved everything about this B&B and would recommend it to all our family and friends, and look forward to coming back here next time we're in Napa. We searched online for a Napa B&B to spend the night in after 4 nights of tent camping. Our search turned up many B&B's that looked old-fashioned, with photos of bedrooms reminiscent of a grandmother's guest room (dolls? lace?) - not our idea of romantic. We were so pleased to find the Old World Inn. It had an updated B&B feel with tasteful decor, not overdone but high quality and modern. The bed was divine with crisp sheets and fluffy comforters and pillows. The bathroom had luxurious products and plush towels that were so appreciated after our days in the wilderness. The staff is friendly but not 'in your face.' And the brownies placed out at night - to die for!

We didn't want to leave. The food and service were excellent, and our room was an oasis. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. We will definitely be back!

From the moment we walked in, we were treated with warmth and kindness. Our host, Vic, made us feel comfortable and welcome throughout our entire stay. The room was extremely pleasant to stay in and the beds make you want to stay in all day. It was great coming back to an outdoor fireplace and delicious home-made desserts in the common area. The amenities only added to our already pleasant stay. We can't wait to come back!

Stumbling across the Old World Inn online was serendipidous! From the moment we walked through the Old World Inn doors, the sights, smells and personal touches of our stay were beyond reproach. We definitely overindulged, but in a good way. It was a fabulous way to celebrate our anniversary too. A Night In Paris was the breath of fresh air that we both needed. Help! I'm being held against my will. I thought we were going to dinner in Houston, but somehow ended up with a bunch of wannabe wine snobs in California. Sometimes birthdays can be hell. This one turned out pretty good though. Sorry I have no idea how the B&B was found, much less how we got here. Walter, age 50 and a day (ugh!) (actually the Old World Inn was GREAT, the private tastings were GREAT, the breakfast was GREAT, and this birthday was the best ever).

A good B&B is distinguished by many factors. All of which must work in constant collaboration with the rest. Friendly hospitable hosts; clean and presentable facilities; austere of location; outgoing and social guests; savory breakfasts; and all the other little things that set one B&B apart form all the rest. The Old World Inn has all of these and then some. Everything you want and expect to receive at a B&B is fulfilled here. Joy and Vic are hosts that go above and beyond themselves each and every day. Their knowledge and hospitality are second to none. If you are looking foe a stay in Napa, don't look past the Old World Inn. You will not find a more comfortable bed or more decadent evening desserts.

We had never stayed at a B&B before and I was really picky about what I wanted. So I did a search for a B&B in Napa and after looking at several I found Old Word Inn. They had the king size bed fireplace and jacuzzi all in one room. Most places only offer queen and a lot only had standard tubs and no fireplace. Also I loved the look and ambience of Old World Inn the best. The staff was very helpful and friendly upon booking the room and providing information on local places. I was so impressed when we arrived! The house was gorgeous and our room (Starry Night) took my breath away! Joy was very friendly and informative and showed us everything we might need or want to use. I was extremely impressed with all the "extras" that weren't mentioned on the website (such as French press coffee, DVD library, community fridge). It made everything that much more special! Our room was amazing, the bed was very relaxing. We had our own private outdoor jacuzzi tub, which was very romantic. The house was quiet and it felt like we were the only two people there. And breakfast in the morning was a meal you would expect at a gourmet restaurant! I came looking for a romantic anniversary get away and I got all I dreamed of and more. My only regret is that we stayed only one night! So just think if we're this impressed after 1 evening how happy you'll be with your stay! I hope to make this "our place" to visit year after year!

Our stay in Napa has been absolutely wonderful! Our room felt like home. The snacks in the evening were delicious as well as the desserts. The staff helped pick our wine tasting adventures and everyday was more fun than the last. We're so sad to be leaving and we hope to be back soon. Thank you !

We loved this wonderful Bed & Breakfast!! We found and booked our stay at the Old World Inn online. We were a little nervous about our selection because we really had no referral or prior knowledge of this establishment. Boy, were we impressed! This cozy Bed & Breakfast is exactly what we were looking for and more. The staff really exceeded our expectations. The great folks that run this fine establishment seem to sincerely love what they do. They have a vast knowledge of the area, wine and how to treat their guests. You get a sense of a real passion for life (and wine) from the moment you enter the house. Their enthusiasm was contagious. Each night at 5:30pm a different local Napa winery representative was at the main house to conduct a wine tasting. This was really special. Not only did we get to taste the wine (and, cheese and olives etc) but we learned so much about the wines and winery. There was an entire hour dedicated to the guests of Old World Inn in their cozy parlor. It was a very intimate setting that allowed the guests to ask questions and feel very comfortable doing so. This was certainly a very unexpected and nice touch. My bride and I really cannot say enough nice things about the Old World Inn. We live on the east coast and can't wait to go back and stay again. We have already recommended this wonderful Bed & Breakfast to some friends and family members. If you are looking for a charming setting to spend a few days in one of the most beautiful spots in the country, do yourself (and loved one) a favor and stay at the Old World Inn.

We found the Old World inn ironically through a travel agent friend. Though the website gives great detail and pictures of the amenities there was one thing that was noticeably absent and would never be adequately represented through a computer screen. The warmth. It's like visiting a friend's house when you walk through the door. The staff welcomes with a smile, there is cold delicious fruit infused water waiting on the table, and of course the infamous cookies temptingly await. Even the guests are friendly and happy to be here - willingly offering suggestions and great places to eat. A little atmosphere, a warm welcome, and a great nights sleep create an incredible, memorable experience and a guaranteed return visit.

Coming to the Napa Old World Inn was a perfect weekend. After a lot of research my husband picked this lovely inn as a surprise for my birthday. Everything was enjoyable & relaxing from the moment we entered. Our room was comfortable and inviting and I loved the claw foot tub. The staff was incredible, helping us settle in and letting us know where everything was. They provide incredible French Press coffee and amazing desserts every night. The Old World Inn was very helpful when picking wineries and restaurants. This trip made us see the wine country in a whole new light. We have been here before, but this was truly our 1st real experience.

Five Stars for Starry Night at Old World Inn! For our first trip staying in Napa, we picked the best place to stay! The hosts gave us such wonderful recommendations for the perfect wineries, we enjoyed sitting outside at a picnic table getting all the personal attention from the representative of the winery. We enjoyed all the wonderful treats at the inn-from the chocolate covered cherries and strawberries to the fantastic breakfasts. The room was so comfortable-the bed was so nice and we looked up through the skylights and watched the twinkling stars. It was magic! Thank you for a wonderful time!

Searching for a bed & breakfast was difficult, but once I made my selection at Old World Inn, everything became perfect! The staff were extremely helpful & friendly. Our room (Allegria) was so cute & comfortable. Their chocolate chip cookies & brownies were to die for. The breakfast was delicious and the location was in the middle from all our activities. I couldn't have picked a better B&B. I will definitely be recommending everyone I know to Old World Inn because in my opinion, Old World Inn is the best!!! Can't wait to book my next stay...my boyfriend loved his Valentine's gift! (His gift was two nights at Old World Inn).

I originally gave a weekend at the Old World Inn as a present to my son and his wife. They loved their stay there, so when I next visited Napa, I booked a room there as well. We very much enjoyed our stay-the room was beautiful, the bed comfortable and the food excellent. The innkeeper (Janie) gave us some excellent recommendations on places to eat as well as some of the lesser known wineries. I would plan on staying here for future trips and would highly recommend the Inn to others.

For three years my fiancée has had her eye on the Old World Inn. this year for her birthday I surprised her with a trip to Napa, and the OWI exceeded all expectations. The staff was warm and inviting and the Artist's cottage was comfortable and hard to leave. The spa tub was perfect for hot bath after our one hour couples' massage. During our evening we enjoyed a choice selection of wines and some of the most delicious desserts we've ever had. We had a hard time wanting to even leave our room! We plan on coming back for another romantic weekend here at OWI, only next time for longer!! Thank you for a wonderful birthday weekend my fiancée will never forget. We enjoyed our stay at the Old World Inn. We came to Napa for our 10 year wedding anniversary and looked online for somewhere to stay. We found the Old World Inn and booked it easily online. We stayed in Walden Cottage, which was great. It gave us the benefits of a bed and breakfast but a lot a privacy. It was comfortable. The room has a comfortable king bed and a relaxing jacuzzi tub. The breakfasts were amazing and not something you would make at home. The staff was kind and helped us with recommendations and dinner reservations. Overall a wonderful place to stay!

We found Old World Inn on the internet, and we were pleased that it's one of the best places to kiss in California. It was very easy to book online. The innkeepers even emailed us a list of wineries and restaurants they recommend. Once we chose what we liked, they even took care of our reservations when we arrived. We were extremely impressed by the friendly staff. The house is cozy and inviting, and there are many different rooms to choose from. Our room, Bella Tuscany, has a comfortable king sized bed, a relaxing jacuzzi tub and a huge projector to watch romantic movies. The breakfast is delicious! Wine and cheese hour is a great appetizer before dinner. The chocolate desserts are available all evening. This is our second time here at Old World Inn and we will definitely be back!

Wow! What a friendly place. We really felt at home. We enjoyed getting to know the innkeepers as well as the other guests. The wine and cheese hour was an excellent time to share our daily adventures with others and receive information from them as to what they had enjoyed during their day. We could walk anywhere we needed to. After a fun day of wine tasting and sight-seeing, we would walk to one of Napa's many great restaurants and enjoy great food. Upon returning to the inn we would be greeted with a choice of 3 chocolate desserts to send us on our way to sweet dreams.

We both live busy stressful lives. We hoped our stay here would allow us to relax. After a week in Painter 2 I cannot remember was stress is. Not having to plan breakfast or do dishes makes mornings truly easy (especially when you start each day with a soak in the porcelain tub). The canopy bed and fire place drew us in for hours each day. To ice the cake, we got engaged by the fire. Painter 2 will always hold a special place in our hearts. It will always be "our place"; we know we will return to the magic of the Old World Inn in years to come to destress and share more of life's milestones.

We found Old World Inn through B&B.com. We went directly to the inns website and booked a room - it was a great deal compared to inns in the area and the reviews were great. Plus, where else would we get a movie screen in the room? We arrived midday and despite not being able to go to the room, we were given some great recommendations for wineries to visit. When we came back to the inn we spent some time with other visitors at the wine and cheese tasting from Jessup Cellars. What a treat!! We then went to dinner... when we got back we watched a movie on the big screen! In the morning we had a great breakfast with fresh squeezed oj, egg soufflé, and scones...Yummy! Overall a wonderful place to stay!

We recently stayed at Old World Inn, and it was our first B&B experience. We were there for our honeymoon. What a great time we had! The staff (Ryan, Joy, et al) were very helpful, and the food was great. The rooms were also fantastic. We stayed for two nights in Secret Garden, then two more in Bella Tuscany (we both tended to prefer Secret Garden, because it had a very comfortable bed, was a bit more spacious, had a fabulous LCD tv and fireplace, and the spa room was awesome; Tuscany had a few more quirks, but was still nice). The Inn is located in a great location in Napa, and the offseason rate made this a real bargain. We would definitely like to return someday!

Our first trip to Napa and our first anniversary culminated with a delightful stay at the Old World Inn. We appreciated the special attention and details our hosts took to ensure our stay was everything we hoped it to be. Thank you.

My husband and I had the best time at Napa Old World Inn. The rooms were beautiful and so cozy. We went wine tasting and came back for a soak in the hot tub and snuggled by the fire. The innkeepers were very nice and the food was fabulous. We will definately be returning.

My mate and I stayed 2 nights at the Old World Inn for his birthday. We will never stay in a hotel again. Old World Inn was the first bed & breakfast we have stayed at, and it raised the bar towards excellence. We live only a half hour from the inn, but felt like we were miles away in paradise. We experienced joy from the moment we walked in up to the moment we left/ There were many things to stimulate our senses; wonderful fragrances in the soaps and toiletries that were offered, special tastes in the foods and wines that were presented, nice touch from the soft sheets and towels, beautiful sites from the projection TV, to the beautiful colors in the room, and friendly smiles and laughter from the staff. It was a very relaxing and romantic experience. This is definitely a 5 star inn!

Our evening began with a wine tasting in the living room of the Inn. We enjoyed wine, cheese and good conversation. Then off we went for dinner at Celedon, arranged for us by the innkeeper. Upon our return we discovered an inviting fire burning in the pit on the patio. We slipped in the back door of the Inn, gathered a plate of delicious desserts and hot chocolate and enjoyed a romantic interlude of peace by the fire. Tempted to Return My wife Lisa and I like to get away from our day to day routines for 2 day jaunts. Fortunately we live in part of the country that offers a great variety of excellent options for these jaunts. Most are easily reachable via 1-3 hour car trips. We have been known to seek out special deals when selecting where to go. After booking a room at a place we had stayed twice previously, we received an email promo for the Old World Inn a few days later. After comparing we chose to cancel the other and go to the Old World Inn for a second stay. We choose the room they call Secret Garden. We brought along a few DVDs which we enjoyed viewing on the large, wall-mounted flat-screen TV. Another special feature was the hour or so relaxing in the jacuzzi spa tub housed in a room off the main room. All the amenities were high quality. My only wish would be to have the morning coffee offering earlier and stronger - but that's me. Both breakfast were tasty and the conversations with our fellow guests was pleasant, fun and often informative. The first couple we met turned out to live only a few blocks from us! Speaking of food, we had two excellent dinners in downtown Napa. Both within a mile from the inn. The appetizer and wine offering at the inn set up the dinners perfectly. Lisa and I are interested in trying some of the other nearby areas for our future jaunts, but I think there is a good chance we could be tempted to return for a third stay at Old World Inn. Searching the internet revealed a variety of choices...how do you choose when they all look fabulous? Something in the gauzy canopy over the bed called out to me at the Old World Inn. The affordable mid-week price enabled my sister and I to stay and enjoy my 30th birthday in Napa. With a beautiful and convenient location, we were pleasantly surprised by the inviting atmosphere and wonderful hospitality. After mini cookies and mint infused water, we threw open our door to the "Night In Paris" with it's French-style decor and clawfoot tub. How did we get so lucky to choose the best place? The little things in a B&B win you over: the birthday card they left me on the bed, fluffy robes, wine and cheese, desserts, unlimited coffee/tea, movies for your huge flat screen...the list goes on. Be careful though-if you stay here, you'll have a hard time wanting to leave to actually tour the city!

What an experience we had at the Old World Inn. Not only was the hostility top notch food delicious and location prime, the Inn brought people from all over this country together and what a joy it was to here others stories. It was a great family atmosphere and really brought out the best in people with their guards let down and their friendliness turned up. We look forward to coming again.

It is our honeymoon and I somehow found the best place to stay! We were looking for luxury, relaxation, quietness and a romantic place...this had it all and then some. We had never stayed at a B & B and now any other one will never compare to this! Their website does not do the place justice! It was a cozy place with a wonderful room that we never wanted to leave with a private bathroom! We were blown away by the ambiance of our room (Bella Tuscany): colors, soaking tub, cute bathroom, music, comfortable bath robes ever, huge movie projection screen and great bathroom toiletries. Wow I haven't even mentioned the beautiful Inn because we wanted to stay in our room the entire time!! I loved the all night chocolates that were too good to stop eating and my husband loved the cookies...all which never seemed to disappear. My husband even really enjoyed the infused water which he never drinks!! The place was so charming and the staff very friendly and helpful. We missed our first breakfast but the morning we stayed to eat was tasty! There is not enough room to go on and on about this place!! But I must mention that the movie selection was perfect and the bed oh so comfortable! Anytime we come to Napa we will be back here and look forward to sharing this place with friends and family!! First of all everything was great. the staff was most friendly and very helpful. when we decided to com to NAPA Valley I checked the internet (not knowing what I would find) andthe name 'Old World Inn' just called my name. I looked at 1 or 2 others but decided to choose you Inn. Although I had worked at a B&B I never had the ocasion to stay at one, here was my chance. this turned out to be a very fine experience meeting all kinds of couples from other states getting a variety of views and suggestions as to where to go an what to try. Our favorites balloon ride lunch on the Wine Traing, favoite restaurants UVA and Mustards was a treat, favoite wineries Frogs Leap and Berringer Ohh Lala!! thank you for your kindness and help before and during our stay it was perfect. We will be back.

A Wonderful Vacation This was our second visit to Old World Inn. We were fortunate enough to stay in Tuscany last year and Paris this year. It was such a wonderful stay because of the fantastic owners and staff. The staff welcomed us with open arms and made us feel as if we were home. From the recommendations of where to eat and the wineries to visit, everything was perfect. We love being in Napa, but we love being at the Old World Inn even more. Thanks to everyone that made our vacation so special.

I researched so many in the area, but was most impressed with your beautiful rooms that included jacuzzi tubs, home theater systems and a spread of delicious food from breakfast to midnight. There was so much to plan. but your staff made all of my arrangements for us for a spa visit, winery appointment, and dinner reservations - I didn't have to worry about planning at all! Our room was beautiful (Starry Night) - to wake up to see birds flying over the trees was quite romantic - not to mention the private out door jacuzzi! We slept so well on your large feather beds and enjoyed sneaking out for desserts to bring back to bed and a movie after a long day of wine tasting. We really haven't ever stayed anywhere as perfect as the Old World Inn and can't wait to come back again!

My boyfriend and I decided to get away this weekend, which is something we rarely do. After searching and searching online for a wonderful, affordable B&B I came across Old World Inn. I took one look at the rooms and said this is it. We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at out home away from home. We love the feeling of "make yourself as comfortable as you can". We will definitely recommend this lovely place and come again!

My fiance and I decided to stay at a B&B for Christmas as our plans to drive to WA fell through because of the weather. After finding the Old World Inn on bedandbreakfast.com and reading the reviews, we were both very excited to stay at a place so highly regarded. We booked the Painter Room #1 for two nights (Christmas Eve and Day of) and feel that we got the best room in the place! The innkeepers were happy to show two other rooms-La Biblioteca and the Walden Cottage-but we feel the Painter Room #1 was the best choice for us. Our room came with everything to make our stay relaxing and comfortable: a king-size featherbed, a huge flat-screen TV (which we watched one of their available DVDs), a gas fireplace, a full kitchen, and a jetted spa bathtub which just fit the two of us. Although the Artist's Retreat was across the street, we always felt welcome to go over to the Inn at any time, especially to mingle with the other guests in the evening when the Inn had cheese, wine, and chocolates! The innkeepers are extremely welcoming and the food is out of this world. Overall, the price was great for what we got and we had a great time staying at the Old World Inn.

This is a very special place for us...The Old World Inn. We have stayed in the Walden Cottage three times. The first time we stayed here was because we finally decided to have our own time together. We usually never leave the kids but finally made the time to do it. Every time we come here, we are very impressed with the staff. Vic was very helpful when the projector didn't work. He left their Christmas Party to come help and did wonders and then we were we able to relax in the cozy bed and watch TV! The breakfast is always yummy as well as the cookies! Next December when we come again, we will come for 2 nights b/c we realize one night is not enough! The Walden Cottage is perfect for us to relax and have our own getaway at the Old World Inn.

Upon arrival, the immediate entrance was very clean, beautiful Christmas tree. A great stay for the holidays. Everything we needed was provided for us - all the wine and cheese/desserts made it even more special and gives it an extra touch. Bella Tuscany is a great retreat from the typical hotel rooms we have stayed in the past. It tears you away from everyday life and gives much comfort, relaxation, and warmth from the cute fire place in the corner. I don't have one negative thing to say - it was all above and beyond from the reviews I read online. I highly recommend the place for anyone that wants to experience a unique stay at a bed and breakfast.

We needed somewhere to escape for the weekend to celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary. We found the Old World Inn on bedandbreakfast.com. When me and my husband saw the picture of the La Boheme, one of the amazing rooms at the inn, we knew this was the place for our special weekend. We were immediately greeted by the staff when we arrived and given a tour of the grounds. I even saw other rooms in the inn for our next trip out. Our room was exactly what we were looking for and more that I expected. I immediately melted in the goose feather pillows and soaked in the fresh linen smell of the cotton sheets. The claw foot tub was a plus and definitely needed to help me begin enjoying my very relaxing night. The wine served in the evening with the cheese and crackers gave my taste buds a treat. The staff made reservations at a local Italian Restaurant called Uva. The walk to the restaurant was delightful. We loved all the Victorian style homes and have made plans to retire here someday and watch the weekend folks walk by our home as we sip our glass or pinot grigio on our wrap around porch. The dinner was just what we were looking for. We ended our night with brownies from the dinning room and an action movie on the 80" Dolby digital projector screen. We will never forget this night and will definitely be back again to melt our worries away.

After like 6 hours of driving with traffic and wet weather, it was such a great experience to be welcome by friendly staff and to stay in a warm and charming room "Starry Night". To have our own jacuzzi to relax being like you're in another peaceful place away from traffic. The food and desserts were a great plus. A really yum treats! This romantic getaway is affordable and really a refreshing change from staying in a more expensive hotel with out the charms the B&B offers. I totally loved my stay here.

What I liked most about The Old World Inn was it's charm. The comfort of my bed was outstanding! I could have stayed in the bed forever! The sheets smelled amazing and the bed was VERY comfortable to the point where I never want to stay in a regular hotel again. The late night dessert treats were definately worth the wait when we strolled in after wine tasting. The comfort of the Inn is something that no other place I have ever stayed has provided for me. I will book there again!

I was searching the web to find a place to stay in Napa for a couple of days, when I decided to check out the B&B's. Old World Inn caught my eye with all the flags out front and the great appearance. Than as I was reading about the inn I was sold - everything that was said about the inn sounded absoloutely perfect for what we were planning. I emailed the innkeepers - Vic and Joy answqered all my questions excellently. Upon arrival Ryan helped us out with a great place to eat within walking distance. When we came back the room was ready and the first impression just blew us away. It was absolutely beautiful/so romantic/just perfect. The house was decorated for the holidays and was very warm and cozy. The nightly chocolates were to die for and the Jacuzzi totally relaxing. Words cannot describe how great this place is. It will be on our list to return to, tell our friends about and remember the most romantic stay forever.

One of the most delightful parts of our stay was the gathering around the breakfast table of travelers and the stimulating conversations that inevitably emerged. How much we learned - from the architecture of a special vineyard to home towns across America to the best restaurants in Napa. And these conversations that helped direct us for the day connected us in ways that will endure beyond our time at the inn. Jeff and I are going to get the perfect itinerary with all the best places for our trip to Wyoming and Yellowstone now that we know two locals who will share their favorites with us. We'll be sharing our favorites with others too: the Old World Inn, Ceja Vineyards, dancing at Uva Trattoria with a fabulous jazz band, and dinner at Pearl!

From the time we found the website on bedandbreakfast.com with the Oprah recommendation we felt we were in for a treat. When we called, Janie greeted us and was so friendly and excited to have us come, we felt our search for a special Inn was over. When we arrived Joy & Ryan were here and glad to see us. The Inn is lovely inside and out. Every need has been anticipated from comfy beds to midnight snacks. The breakfasts and desserts are delicious. We were lucky to attend 2 wine pourings here. We learned so much and enjoyed the hor's devours and friendly conversations. They even made sure sweet wine was served. I'm sure that was just for me. The best thing of all is the staff. Janie, Joy, Ryan & Victor really care so guests are treated in a pampered way. Staff want to make sure you are happy and offer great advice form where to eat to wineries to tour.

After a long season working very long hours often seven days a week, we were in need of a little pampering. After an internet search we decided upon the Old World Inn in Napa. Everything exceeded our expectations (we had never stayed in a bed and breakfast before). We were treated to royal service, scrumptious breakfasts and yummy treats, and comfortable, luxuroius accomodations. We left refreshed, renewed, and relaxed. Thank you Old World Inn!

We arrived Sunday afternoon 1 1/2 hours early...Needless to say Vic was able to accommodate us immediately!! Our room was the best they had to offer (Walden Cottage) and the amenities were so homey. We had coordinated our busy schedules to fit in a little birthday get away...Mid semester for me and abandonment of a busy sole-prop engineering firm for my love. From the innkeepers to our fellow guests to the fire pit, every minute helped complete our rendezvous away from all that usually absorbs our every waking moment. We left reluctantly to resume our real lives - waiting to return another day another birthday or...Just because we can get a room!! The Napa Wine Train is only a 5 minute drive and there are numerous wonderful restaurants nearby as well. We had a marvelous dinner at Angele, on the river. Want a tour of a winery or a private tasting? Vic and staff will arrange it for you and suggest wonderful places to experience, if you can leave your room that is!

Our trip was very warm and special from start to finish. The wine and cheese hour by the fire place and the chocolate treats later on... Yum! Breakfast was amazing... we want to stay longer! We both appreciate how special you made this for us!!

This experience was as perfect as we could have hoped for. As my wife and I talked about how we wanted to celebrate our first year of marriage, we came up with a few important things - 1) Go some where that we can enjoy great food and wine; 2) Stay some where that feels like home; 3) Relax and reflect on our wonderful first year of marriage. Number one was a no brainer, where else can you go for the wonderful cuisine and tasty wines that Napa Valley offers! Number 3 was also easy as I believe we could have been anywhere in the world and enjoyed each others company and memories. But number 2 was a huge decision and the Old World Inn was a perfect choice. The hospitality, peaceful environment, and comfort of being "home" helped make our first anniversary unforgettable! Thank you, we will be back!

We come from a land of hotels and motels and the fast paced life style of the 4th largest city in the USA. We had heard so much about B&Bs from my sister but had always resisted. Finally we decided to try a B&B for a few days in front of a week's stay in Lake Tahoe. To the internet we went and a search on Napa B&Bs found the Old World Inn advertised on the home page of the site we selected. A fairly short drive (for Texans) from Sacramento and we arrived at the Inn. From the moment we entered the front door it's been all about service (great). The breakfasts have been an amazing start to our busy days of shopping and wine tasting. Always a good nights sleep, banter with other guests, wine & cheese and chocolate desserts at night, etc, etc. The only question that has arisen is why we waited so long to try our first B&B. Then again we were lucky enough to try the Old World Inn first. Now we are spoiled beyond belief.

We learned about the B&B in O Magazine. I checked it out online and picked the Night In Paris room because it loooked so enchanting in the picture. I was pleasantly surprised upon arrival to see that the room looked exactly as expected. The wineries that the B&B recommended were great and thanks for helping us map out our days here and making dinner suggestions. My favorite part of the day was coming home to see what chocolate were waiting for me to gobble them up, delish! I will definitely recommend all my friends to stay here and we will definitely be back for a second visit. Thanks a lot!

Inviting was our first impression as we entered the doors of the Old World Inn. The view of the beautiful hardwood floors and fine antique furniture well positioned throughout gave us a feeling of comfort. The best was the sincere smile of Joy (so appropriately named) who greeted us into the inn. We no longer felt invited; we became extended family. The inn is a magnet for like minded people who appreciate comfort, creativity and conversation. We would do this again - in a heart beat.

We had a great time! Our bed was super comfortable, allowing the opportunity for a great night of sleep in preparation for the next days adventures. The Inn staff was very helpful and made great recommendations for tours and dinner reservations. We can't wait to return!

We intended to spend are 2nd anniversary in June here and the fires and airline flights had other plans for us; we wound up back home. We were lucky enough to get a second chance to celebrate here now in September, and we are thrilled with everything at the Inn. It is all the comforts we could imagine - and more! It has given us a wonderful 2 (1/2) year anniversary that we will never forget - and we hope to be able to come back again. You have thought of every amenity to make life as luxurious as possible at a fairly reasonable price. Thank you, thank you, thank you! (and Thank you Janie, also!)

We had the most wonderful stay at your Inn. You made our late arrival very easy. Our room "Starry Night" was small but oh so cozy and comfortable. Our bed was amazingly soft and very much like home. The desserts in the evening were so delicious especially the crunchy buckeyes. The wine presentation was very educational. I really enjoyed learning about how the different wines were made. Ryan and Joy were extremely helpful in choosing wineries and restaurants to visit. I would definitely recomment the Old World Inn to family and friends. Thanks so much for a great visit to Napa!!

While looking for a place to stay in Napa, we soon discovered that a majority of the hotels were already booked or too overpriced. We then thought to look at some of the B & B's in the area. We never stayed in a B & B together and thought it would be fun. We pulled up Google and searched B & B's in Napa. Old World Inn was the 2nd one on the seach results. We clicked on it as it said something about the best B & B in the area. After looking at the Old World Inn website, we fell in love. We are so glad we booked our stay here. It was exactly what the website promised us. Thank you, we will be back.
