McClelland Priest B&B Inn

The room was larger than expected. The high ceilings were a lovely surprise, and really added space to the already comfortable rooms. Downtown Napa was so close, this location was perfect. Breakfast was basically gourmet, much more than expected. Just be ready to socialize in the morning as everyone sits around a large dining table.

The home is beautiful, the rooms gorgeous, the food amazing! Can't go wrong here! Stayed for Bottlerock... nice spot to be walkable to Napa restaurants and the event, while still far enough to escape the crowds.

Still the best B&B we've gone to, so we keep coming back.

Celeste, the Inn keeper is very accommodating, and a her breakfasts were outstanding and the historic integrity of her home is fantastic. Would highly recommend.

This was our first bed & breakfast experience and we are eager to go back! The room was beautifully decorated with a comfortable bed and plenty of space. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and it was nice to meet some of the other guests. This place really was in close walking distance of downtown so we got to enjoy leaving our car parked and tasting some wine! Would definitely recommend the McClelland Priest to anyone looking to visit Napa.

Beautiful rooms, a quaint little garden right outside our room, and central location right next to downtown. The owner Celeste is an amazing cook and a wonderful hosts! Planned out an itinerary of wineries to visit and even threw in a free bottle!

Staying at The McClelland Priest B&B was so relaxing we almost didn't want to leave our room. We stayed in the Roma Suite which was very nicely appointed. The in room jacuzzi was very relaxing. Breakfast in the morning was delicious and Celeste was so helpful and kind. We will definitely be back!

This house has the most unique characteristics! Definitely an older home that needs a few fixes. Would definitely stay here again! Would like to see a breakfast that has a little more protein.

My husband and I stayed at McClelland Priest for 4 nights this month for our honeymoon, and it was a wonderful experience. Celeste managed to upgrade us to a bigger room as a great surprise, and was a marvelous host all around. The location is great - you can walk anywhere you need to go in downtown Napa (including Celeste and her husband's wine tasting room Uncorked at Oxbow, where we picked up a really nice bottle). Breakfast is delicious, and the wine in the evening is a lovely touch as well. The house is big and old and beautiful. The whole time was wonderful, and I'd highly recommend it to anybody headed to Napa.

What makes this stay enjoyable is the kind & helpful hints received from the owner. This is our second stay & we will be back for a third!

This was our first time staying in a B&B and is was fantastic. Celeste and Bruce were wonderful hosts! Breakfast ws really yummy and we even had an early morning bike tour one day of our stay and Celeste made our breakfast an hour earlier then the normal time. Really an outstanding experience. We will definately be back.

We have stayed in several Bed and Breakfasts as my wife and I have traveled, McClelland Priest B&B stands out amoung them as one of the best! Not only is it warm and inviting, but the owner Celeste provides her guests with a wealth of knowledge of the area wineries and the processes invloved in wine making. Spent a lovely three days at McClelland Priest B&B Inn in September. Pleasant room, great breakfast, close to town, and easy to get to the roads that traverse the rest of the Napa valley. The town of Napa itself is loaded with places to taste and eat. Highly recommended.

We enjoyed the 2 nights we spent at the B&B. Celeste is a wonderful Innkeeper and breakfast each morning was outstanding! We will definitely stay here again if we have the opportunity to come back to Napa!

Our room was lovely and it was great to get to go to the owner's wine tasting room downtown. Breakfast, however, was disappointing.

The facility was conveniently located and appeared to be well-kept. Upon arrival, we found a package from the hosts including a map of Napa wineries, a list of wineries where we could receive free/discounted tastings, and a coupon for a bottle of wine and free tasting at their testing room. I would stay there again. However, my one negative comment would be that we did not see the owners at all during our two-night stay. There also didn't appear to be anyone acting as host/manager. That's not necessarily a deal-breaker for me, but it does give the appearance the owners may not really care whether or not you choose to stay there.

Our only regret is that we could not stay one more night! This B&B has great character and is walking distance to some fantastic restaurants. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

McClellamd Priest is very conveniently located on the edge of downtown Napa within walking distance of good restaurants and wine tasting rooms and easy to get to by car from both CA-29 and Silverado Trail. Our room, the Carducci Suite was roomy but somewhat on the dark side as there is no overhead lights only lamps. The bathroom has once been a porch area, but was very adequate. When we arrived only the cleaning lady was there who didn't speak English. We didn't get any information about the room or the time for breakfast, which turned out to be 9:20am, That seemed to be a little bit late for us, but this was our first B&B experience so we had nothing to judge by. The breakfasts were very good and filling. Wine was put out in the evenings but by the time we returned we were not up for drinking anything else.

Staying at the McClelland Priest B&B was as memorable as Napa itself. It is a fine Victorian with beautiful original chandeliers, well appointed, and perfectly hosted. Location could not be better. Within walking distance of excellent restaurants, a park for music, and several tasting rooms, you can park your car and enjoy the town. The hosts are well connected to the wine industry (with several of their own high quality signature wines), and able to offer some of the best suggestions for our stay. We will be repeaters and recommending the McClelland Priest B&B from now on. M&M

My wife and I stayed at McClelland Priest for a few days in August. The Inn is a short walk from the main strip in Napa but is own amenities are what make it a real winner. The entire house is fantastic and Celeste's breakfasts are first rate. She was also extremely helpful and friendly, walking all of her guests through the frequently overwhelming list of winers available for visits. Well worth the stay.

Beautiful corner home with an exceptionally large room. We stayed in the Verdi and I was surprised at how large the room was. The bathroom wasn't big, but who spends much time in there anyway! Highly recommend! We didn't have an opportunity to try the breakfast but heard it was exceptional.

This was my second B&B experience ever and this was SO much better than my first in New Orleans. The rooms were great! The food was awesome! And the location was fantastic! I loved being able to walk to restaurants and wine tastings. Thanks, Celeste, for being such a great hostess! The McClelland Priest B&B was wonderful! We absolutely loved the breakfast. It was delicious and the french toast the best I'd ever had. The Tuscany room we said in was also great; very clean, comfy, and nice. Celeste was incredibly friendly and nice. I would highly recommend it.

This is the place to stay if you're going to the wine country...Perfect location...Beautiful accommodations...Delicious food...Celeste, our host, was so helpful and friendly... I will come back on my next visit...5 star rating all around.

I'm normally not a fan of Victorian B&Bs, but I was looking for something in downtown Napa that wasn't hyper-expensive like the riverside hotels. The McClelland-Priest Inn fit the bill well, within walking distance of our dinner at Celadon and our concert at the Opera House. We slipped in later after the concert, and slept in, missing the breakfast. We stayed in the Verdi Suite, which has a large bedroom, a smaller dressing room and a full bath. The bed was comfortable and the appointments were lavish. (A friend commented that a picture of the wood panelled fireplace looked like a movie set). The only complaint I had was that the room was not dark enough for my tastes -- there ought to be a curtain over the stained glass transom window to block the hall light. As an extra perk, guests of the McClelland Priest Inn get a bottle of wine and a tasting at the owner's tasting room, across from the Oxbow Public Market. I figured this was worth $60 for two people. You also get cards to present to various wineries for discounts, which can save on tasting fees.

Celeste is just delightful and so welcoming. I feel like I am visiting family when I stay there.

We stayed the night after graduation from UC Davis. Wonderful room, wonderful atmosphere, and a wonderful host!

Possibly my favorite part about this bed and breakfast is it's location... we walked everywhere we went in Napa! That's not to say that the room wasn't beautiful and clean. Also, Celeste was very accommodating of my vegan diet, even after I forgot to mention it until the morning of breakfast! We'll have to stay longer next time.

McClellan Priest B&B is a beautiful, well-maintained historic property that we will definitely visit again. We have already referred friends. Convenient walk to entertainment, shops, and restaurants make this a carefree getaway destination. Wine lovers will enjoy the many local tasting salons, too, as well as evening tasting at the B&B. Owner Celeste is a beautiful lady who makes you feel at home, and we had a comfortable, happy stay. We arrived to Napa early. Celeste had prepared an envelope of plkaces to go and see, wine taste, etc and the house key on the front porch! There was a coupon for a free bottle of herCarducci Label Cabernat. Lovely clean home, great breakfast. Would stay again.

My wide and I stayed in the Carducci suite and it was fabulous! The two course beakfast was absolutely superb each morning and more than enough to get you started on a day of wine tasting. Access to either Napa Valley or Sonoma is easy from here. Celeste and her husband have their own vineyards and winery. We got a free tasting at their tasting room and got a free bottle of wine. We ended up purchasing a case of various wines from their winery (in addition to a couple of cases from various Napa and Sonoma wineries). They provide you with deals on reduced tasting costs at several other wineries throughout the area John Ross at the tasting room provides service second to nobody in the valley. He even provided shipping boxes and to have the wine we collected during the week sent back home to us. Really makes it easy to not have to haul wine back to the airport. Everything was exactly as described. The tasting room at Oxbow's Uncorked did not disappoint as you got to try ALL the wines! My wife and I are looking forward to a return visit! Thanks again Celeste! - Hope and Jeff

We overall enjoyed our 2 night stay at the inn; I only gave the inn a 3 star for the room as we were placed in a converted garage that was called the carriage house. It was "ok", if I were to stay here again I would recommend to request a room in the main house as we viewed 2 rooms which were done in the Victorian style which were much warmer. The inn keepers are wonderful and they made our stay at the inn exceptional, very nice morning breakfast and the added bonus of a wine tasting at their local wine tasting room downtown. The best thing about the inn is that you can walk anywhere for dinner and not have to bother with your car.

Our recent visit, May 21 and 22, 2012, was simply wonderful. Celeste made us feel right at home. She offered great tips about the vineyards, had discount offerings for them as well. Her husband Bruce had some wonderful insights as to vineyards to visit. Breakfast was fantastic. This was my second stay and I can't wait to go back. Staying in the villiage of Nappa is far preferable to staying in hotels where you can't walk to dining and fine tasting rooms. It was heaven in the wine country for me.

McClelland Priest was our first B & B experience, and we were very impressed with the comfort of staying in what is essentially a private home. Our keys and instructions, as well as wine tasting coupons, were waiting when we arrived. The staff was very friendly and breakfast was tasty. We had an opportunity to meet some fellow guests with whom we could share travel stories.. If you want to do something different than the typical commercial hotel...this is the place.

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the McClelland Priest! The Firenze suite had plenty of room for the two of us and the bed was very comfortable. You can tell the owners take pride and love what they do. Along with owning this B&B, they make their own wine and have a tasting room right in Napa - and the free goodies from there they offered us from there were a pleasant surprise. We stayed two nights and even on the weekend night, when the B&B was completely full, our room was blissfully quiet. We highly recommend!

We were so pleased when we drove up to this beautiful, very well kept and inviting B & B. We received an envelope with lots of things to do and places to eat in the area along with a coupon to visit a place in Oxbow for a wine tasting and a free bottle of wine! What a gift! But the absolute best part was the delicious breakfast, the beautiful room and lush grounds all just minutes of walking to the downtown area. And the hostess, who is the cook, is so informative and kind that you just won't want to leave. We will not stay anywhere else on our next trip back to Napa. Thank you!

We arrived on a dreary Saturday and learned that the McClelland Priest B&B had a link with an in-town wine tasting venue- Taste at Oxbow. Arriving hungry at the Tasting Room, the steward suggested we try the lobster and mac at the Hog Island. It was wonderful, we were then ready to try their wines. As a guest of McClelland Priest, we received a bottle to take back with us to the B&B. Breakfast the next morning was a full meal with the delightful company of the proprietor and her significant other and other guests. In addition, their buisness cards gave us reduced tasting fees at many of the area wineries. It was a magical weekend and we will visit again!

What a beautiful and charming b&b. This b&b is in a quiet part of town and is within walking distance to many resturants, wine train and tasting salons. Celeste is a warm and inviting innkeeper, she made us feel like family. We were upgraded to the roma suite for 2 nights of our stay, then on to the Firenze suite with a great private terrace. Both rooms were clean and beautifully furnished. Breakfast each morning was healthy, tasty and filling. We would definately recommend spending a few nights at this lovely inn. Saved money with Celeste's knowledge and discounts given to her clients at many wineries. Great price for all the ammenties you will receive.

B&B is within walking distance of the new downtown area. It is a wonderful venue with lots of perks. If you love wine then the rating goes exponential. Call and talk to Celeste if you are booking. Celeste may be able to work a combo deal to enhance your experience. I highly recommend.

This Inn had everything we could want: lovely rooms, excellent breakfast, and hosts who were able to make excellent wine country recommendations. We are already planning on making this an annual trip!

Our stay at the McClelland-Priest B&B was great! We spent one night in the Puccini Suite and 2 nights in the Carducci Suite. We HIGHLY recommend the Carducci Suite if it's available. The beds in both rooms are VERY comfortable. The one downfall to the Puccini Suite was that the mirror in the bathroom was on the opposite wall from the sink. And really, if that's our only "complaint", I'd say that's nitpicking. The dining room where breakfast is served is very elegant and Victorian. Gorgeous detail in the craftsmanship and period furniture to go along with it. The breakfast served by Celeste was great all 3 days. The first course is always yogurt with granola and fresh fruit. The second course was baked French Toast one day (delish) and some sort of egg omelet concoction the 2 other days. All were VERY good. There is always wine out for tasting during the afternoon, along with chocolates, and water. In the morning, hot water and coffee are available prior to breakfast (along with coffee makers in the rooms). The connections Celeste has throughout the valley made tasting very easy. She has many places highlighted on a map where the tasting fee is either waived or offered at a 2-for-1 rate. This saves lots of money! Well worth the stay and highly recommended!

Wonderful place! Our room was everything we expected and then some. Breakfast each day was exquisite. Only problem is there is no one to talk to in the evenings so if you need something (wine opener), you'll pretty much be out of luck. So come well prepared. Other than that, everything was great. Great location, we were able to walk everywhere.

3 days in the Napa after skiing in Vail and we chose to stay at Mclelland Priest B&B. Our stay hear made our stay in Napa special. The carriage house was wonderful and the bed was so comfortable. The bedroom was not enormous but comfortable and beautifully furnished and there was a separate lounge area- all to suit the house and its era. Breakfast in the main house was excellent and served by the owner Celeste who was so helpful and it was interesting to hear the history of the house. We loved Napa and it was made all the more special by our stay at McLelland Priest. Deb and Keith

Loved our stay at McClelland Priest. Our hostess Celeste made us very welcoming, breakfast delicious (and we didn't have to get up at 7 am to enjoy it!) We loved hearing the history of the house. The location was perfect for exploring downtown Napa. We had the Firenze Suite with a patio for enjoying our newly discovered Napa wines.

The location is central within walking distance of a variety of dining experiences and shopping. The Tuscany suite was quiet and delightful with great linens. The guests were eclectic and friendly. Food was excellent. Hosts friendly but not intrusive--like staying with good friends. Knowledge of wine and wineries was excellent. Consider this my "new Napa pied a terre".

We spent three nights here with good friends. The rooms in this gorgeous old home were lovely and were decorated with appropriate period flare. Celeste was a treasure chest of information and congenialty. She helped map our days. Imagine the carpenters who built it back in 1879,it is semi suspended and all hand carved beautiful wood. The B&B is probably one of the best values you will find in the Napa area. The rooms are elegant and the inkeeper is quite the mover & shaker in the Napa community. She's buddies with many of the wineries and between their own tasting room (Uncorked) and the waived tasting fees, your room is almost free. If we had made a day trip from San Francisco and hit 3 wineries for tastings, the combined fees for the two of us would have been between $90 and $200; add in the bottle of wine we got at Uncorked, and we'd be over $200. But having stayed with Celeste, we were in a lovely room that cost $189 (already more reasonable than her competiters), received a lovely breakfast, and then went tasting in the Valley. Only thing--the reservation system seemed a little convoluted; one of the rooms we were in was rather chilly (even with the fire burning), and the pillows were mostly lumpy foam, when feather would make more sense and match the rest of the sensibility. We'll be back, though.

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights in the Roma suite, and it was absolutely perfect! The property is extremely well kept, the house is an architectural gem, and the room was flawless. Celeste is the most fabulous host; she has abundant knowledge of the history of the B&B, the town of Napa, and the valley and wineries. Her morning meals were delicious and filling and her company and conversation made us feel at home immediately. It was such great fun to meet the other guests at the breakfast table and enjoy stories of our daily adventures with them. Don't hesitate to book this awesome B&B; you will not be disappointed! The one thing I would suggest is the addition of a TV in the common area or in each room. Everything else was satisfactory.

We had Comcast come in and give us a bid on TV's,it's a tough job to wire an 1879, 2 story ,5000sq ft. Victorian but we are working on it!

The house is beautiful, on quiet street yet perfect for walking to restaurants. Breakfasts are healthy and yummy! Celeste is a font of information about the area and her cards gained us free/discounted tastings. Their tasting room, "Uncorked," is fun, a must to stop by for the evening or before heading to dinner. We're very happy to find this B & B!

I very much enjoyed my stay. The only issue I had was that breakfast time did not start until 9:15 to 9:30 and made it difficult to get to some of our early wine tastings. Would have preferred ealier time for breakfast or more flexibility

We first discovered McClelland Priest about 10 years ago and were so delighted with Celeste and her lovely B&B that we never forgot it. We finally returned last month and were even more impressed with our stay. Not only was our room (Roma) simply decadent with a hot tub, 4-poster King bed, the addition of the their own winery and tasting room was wonderful new feature. Celeste served healthy and delicious breakfasts, and wine in the parlor. She also provided a list of wineries she had arranged to waive tasting fees, treating us to savings and an insider's experience. Also, their private label Oxbow Cork and Wine reserve cabernet rivals custom vintages that are many times the price! If you are looking for an outstanding B&B experience in the heart of Napa, we highly recommend McClelland Priest and Celeste.

OUr visit to Napa and stay at the McLelland Priest B&B were part of our first trip to California. We have so many reasons to plan our next trip, but our stay at the MP was one of the highlights. Our first glimpse of the home as we drove up the street told us we'd chosen well. What a spectacular house! Our suite - the Tuscany Carriage House - was quaint and spacious, and very private. Breakfast each morning was delicious, as was coffee in the drawing room. Celeste is a perfect host. She provided us with so many opportunities and information, and is such a genuine, generous and fun person to get to know. Our stay was perfect. There's nothing more I can add. The owner of this B&B is 100% in understanding of how to run a business. She is on top of questions, issues, ideas, etc. Celeste has it down to a science. The location of this property is just another plus. It is within a short walk to almost anything Napa. I would use this B&B again in a heartbeat.

McClelland Priest is in a great location in the town of Napa. Its a short walk to the downtown area where there are multiple choices for dining and shopping. Celeste has contacts all over the valley and provides a winery map where you can get discounted tastings. She and her husband also have their own wines available at their tasting room in the town of Napa. We had a great time the first evening going to their tasting room and interacting with the other patrons...and the wines were good too. We would highly recommend staying at McClelland Priest. The rooms are enormous and the atmosphere is friendly and comfortable.

The knowledge about the area wineries & the "deals" we got with wineries b/c we were staying there, were outstanding! Innkeepers were so knowledgeable & lovely people. Breakfast was good, not great, but good.

Stately, ornate, house with tall ceilings. We were very happy to spend a couple nights there.

We stayed in the Firenze suite for two nights. It was fantastic to have the private balcony to enjoy an evening glass of wine! The home is gorgeous and stately. Downtown was a short walk away, making it easy to drink and eat and get home safely. Breakfast was delicious, and Celeste makes everyone feel right at home. We would deffinetly consider staying here again if and when we (hopefully) return to Napa!

This was a fantastic place for our first trip to Napa. The rooms were clean and the food was delicious. Celeste was very knowledgeable and had coupons for two-for-one tastings at a number of wineries.

Napa was the start of our honemoon and this stay certainly set the tone for a memorable, wonderful trip. The McClelland Priest B&B was charming and we loved the rooftop porch off the Firenze Suite that was ours alone. We loved ending the day with a glass of wine watching the stars. Even though we were a short two blocks to downtown, it was very quiet. Celeste, the owner, was involved with many things- a family wedding and the birth of a new baby, but she prepared a lovely, delicious breakfast and had wine waiting in the evening. The house is very clean and well appointed with wonderful bedding and robes in the closet. My husband and I would love to go back and stay a little longer next time.

We had a very short stay but were treated like old friends. Celeste was a delightful hostess and helped us feel instantly at home. Breakfast was delicious and the other guests were great company. We will be back!

A beautiful Victorian home with very large bedrooms. The owner goes out of her way to make you feel comfortable. Will definitely stay here again.

Loved, loved, loved this beautiful inn. The innkeeper was the very best and took special care to make us feel at home. Homemade breakfast each morning, complimentary wine tastings and an offer of wine each evening were much appreciated. Wouldn't say it was the best B&B I've been to. Was clean and location was convenient. For the area it was the best deal. Breakfast tasted good with yogurt, fruit and baked french toast but a side of eggs or sausage would have been nice. Can see why the prices were lower than some of the other B&B I've been to in the area.

Thank you for your breakfast suggestion, but I like to attract and offer to my special guests, healthy food selections that taste great. The baked French toast is made with eggs so adding a side of eggs would be contributing to what our nation faces daily and that is over consumption. Sorry but sausage, bacon, ham, is not served here at our B&B unless it is requested in advance or if someone is on a special diet high in fat. Just to note for future potential guests reading this ,we try and accommodate special dietary food restrictions , with advance notice, and we try our very best. Today I had 2 vegetarians, a diabetic, and 4 athletes at my breakfast table. Fun! They were all accommodated,satisfied and very complimenting on breakfast. If you would have stayed perhaps a few days then you would have experienced the good variety of our breakfast selections. Actually this comment does not seem typical of the guests we attract. Honestly, Bed and Breakfast.com Diamond Rating has encouraged us to increase rates. $400-$500/night, I feel is very unreasonable, and I like to offer great value and fun. Our location is more than convenient, it's amazing! It's close to the hot spots such as the Riverfront, Oxbow Public Market, we are located in Napa's popular "West End" a block from The Uptown Theater which next week is featuring Chicago, Willie Nelson and Bruce Hornsby. Thanks for your report on your experience if you really actually did stay here! One more note, if you visit another B&B and feel you would like a side dish, just ask. B&B owners usually go out of their way to make it happen!

Our two night stay at McClelland Priest was fantastic in every way. Our room was elegant, the breakfast, served by our hostess, Celeste, was wonderful and the proximity to town (5 min walk), was great as we did not have to drive to our choice of many excellent restaurants. Also in town was the tasting room (free!) of their premium botique winery. The wines were so good we ordered the wine club offerings for our children--three bottles shipped four times a year, excellent wine and excellent value. There we were also able to buy top quality wine at a good price which we brought to dinner. That was in addition to Celeste serving wine for our happy hour at the Inn in the late afternoon. The entire experience at McClelland Priest greatly exceeded our expectation. Thank you again, Celeste.

Thank you for your comment, we actually added more bed linens, blankets, pillows and robes! My house keeper takes great pride in her work, as she irons daily all of our linens. As far a breakfast, I have to apologize as it appears that you only had half of the experience. The fresh fruit course, or fresh seasonal baked fruit crisps, or baked banana souffle are some selections that we make for our first of our full 2 course gourmet breakfasts. If we serve fresh fruit, then we use different fruits daily, topped with a natural yogurt and an organic granola/nut combination and the final touch- a dop of light whip cream. Then the second course....a variety: the baked French toast souffle is a favorite, I have actually had guests that stay more than 2 nights re-request that selection. Our variety of Italian baked Stratas, are also tasty selections. We have a herb garden, and use the beautiful homegrown rosemary, basil,sage or oregano in recipes and as garnishes. As we enter the harvest season, both courses tend to be a baked selection. Once again thanks for your comment.

The bed and breakfast and beautiful and the inn keeper is very pleasant. The McClelland Priest is centrally located and within walking distance to some great restaurants. We were not blown away by the breakfasts. We have stayed in bed and breakfasts across the country and might be spoiled but we stayed three nights and had the same breakfast twice (stuffed french toast) which was OK. The second day the breakfast was served rather late which is OK since we were on vacation but did result in a late start to our exploring the valley.

Timing is everything, thanks for your input on breakfast we try and get everyone seated together, that is why we have a 15 minute margin for serving. The wineries open at 10/10:30 or 11 am. All of our guests are served and usually out of the B&B in route to the wineries by 10am. Some guests just like to stay , relax and walk into downtown Napa, minutes from the B&B to experience the wineries at their local tasting room. Just a note to future guests, if you make appointments at wineries on your own then let us innkeepers know in advance. We do not serve breakfast to order as part of the B&B experience is to meet and experience new people at breakfast. It is a dining experience, and usually the only time we have you all captured in one room together to talk and answer questions on architectural history, wineries, vineyards,ourselves,our family,how we got into the business, how long....etc. If an app't is made at 10am in Calistoga then you need to depart Napa by 8:30am,especially if it is as busy as it is now. If we know that you have a reasonable early flight,or an appointment, we try and accommodate at least with the first course, or put some healthy to go items together. If guests like to get up and go and be out he door by 8/9am then I would not suggest a B&B for the lodging choice. As for the baked French toast souffle',there may have been the chance that the breakfast message got passed along wrong between myself or my innkeeper daughter. Sorry about the double experience, it can happen,but it's not our practice. Hope you had a great and adequate time exploring Napa Valley!

Thanks for the compliments and also the understanding that we as innkeepers are 24/7. We may not be on property 24/7 but YOU are hooked to us 24/7.I am here every morning unless I have an innkeeper(daughters)filling in to give Mom a break. The behind the scene actions include shopping for the B&B foods, supplies,which is usually daily. I can speak for myself, I use fresh and shop daily usually local farmers market, Wholefoods and a few items from Trader Joes or Safeway. Restaurants have closing times, B&Bs,lodging facilities are open 24 hours. My 800# rolls onto my cell phone and I can't but help tell you how many times I have taken a 5am reservation from a East Coast guest(8am NY time). This is a cute bed and breakfast in the heart of Napa. The location is great - in walking distance of the restaurants in downtown Napa. The owner is nice, but was a bit busy the weekend we were there, and we only saw her at breakfast. The free wine tasting that was included was nice, but we were a bit disappointed that some of the wineries she told us that would waive the tasting fee if we gave her card, didn't seem to recognize the card when we gave them and still charged us. All in all though, it was a pleasant stay.

Lately a few of the wineries on our itinerary have added new staff people with the increase of tourists visiting the area. Sometimes the new staff person is unaware of the program and has not been brought up to speed on our B&B partnership with the winery. . If you would be so kind to email me and let me know which of these you experienced that charged you I will contact them. Also I recommend that guests stay a minimum of 2 nights,so that they have the opportunity to meet me and /or my daughters that are innkeepers. Our focus is bed and breakfast, and a majority of the time spent with guests to get them programmed on their day is at breakfast, or on the phone or e mail prior to their arrival. In the evening we have wines in the parlor, and we also provide a wonderful complimentary full tasting of our own wines at our wine tasting salon Uncorked at Oxbow which is a great place, great wines and staff. The wine you will taste at Uncorked at Oxbow , free of charge, range from $25-$50+/bottle depending upon what we are featuring.We also offer barrel and blending session to help educate guests on the making and blending of wines. The evening wines available at the B&B are an extra amenity for our guests and represent many of the wineries where we have pre-arranged with our winery partners to offer you comp tastings during your travels to the vineyards .As you mentioned in your profile, you rarely stay at B&B's, just a note we are all different, and that is what makes us unique: architecture, historic locations, convenience to downtown restaurants,vineyard settings, and also understand in many B&B's it is our private residence too. Celeste and her daughter Erica run a beautiful B & B. The place is immaculate and yet warm and inviting. The century old house is charming with exquisite antique decor and a dozen personal touches that make one feel as if rooming with friends. Quiet street, quiet house and a delicious breakfast every morning. No TV, but WiFi within, so we were able to communicate with family back home via email. We stayed in the Pucchini and our friends stayed in the Tuscany--both were lovely.

We stayed for 2 nights in the Roma Room. The B&B overall was clean and cozy although it could use some renovation and smelled a little musty. The Roma had a jacuzzi tub in the room but was situated near the bed by the bay windows. Was just a little off putting. The sink faucet was also "odd". These are picky complaints as the experience overall was very pleasant. Celeste was very accommodating and a great source for those visiting vineyards for the first time. Would stay there again but would probably find a room with a sitting area rather than jacuzzi.

This was our second stay and we enjoyed it just as much as our first stay two years ago. We love that there is wine out in the evenings and a seated breakfast with all the guests each morning. It is a unique experience that we truly enjoy. Celeste is a wonderful host. She is extremely knowledgeable on the restaurants and wineries in the area. We hope to continue to visit for years to come.

We stayed at the McClelland B&B for three nights. The Carducci Suite was very large, the bed super comfy and everything was clean and tidy. The wine in the evenings gave us a chance to meet other guests and got to compare notes on what to do and where to go. Celeste (the InnKeeper) was absolutely the best resource for information and droppping her name got us lots of discounts on tastings in Napa. The homemade breakfasts were delicious and filling. We would stay there again.

I find it helpful to try and direct guests, especially if it is a first time to Napa, and gladly we saved you a bit in fees! I always recommend that guests stop by here first to pick up my welcome packet. The room most likely is ready after 2pm but the maps, itinerary and my cards will help in choosing some wineries and saving you in tasting fees.

My fiancée and I stayed at the Tuscany carriage house for a night on our recent trip to Napa Valley. The Victorian style home was very beautiful, but in some disrepair. However, we enjoyed a pleasant night of drinking wine in the little porch nook on the side patio after returning from dinner. The Carriage house was unexpectedly spacious and comfortable, but the jetted tub had a slight issue with mildew. Nothing major, but noticeable. The main bed was very comfortable. We did not have occasion to try the day bed in the fireplace room. Breakfast was good. The first course was a very delicious fruit, granola, and cream dish. The second was a variation on a frittatada. It was good, but the granola was the clear winner. Celeste was on vacation herself and so her daughter Erica was hosting, cooking, and serving our meal. She was very gracious and did a great job. All-in-all our stay was quite pleasant and it is likely that on return trips we will consider staying here again.

Thank you, we checked into the tub and have taken care of the grout, it wasn't mildew just discoloration. Also we have on going "repair" projects, and believe me nothing goes unnoticed. Our 1879 Victorian, is always a work in progress as we start at the front and work to the back. I have been the owner since 1988 and have been from front to back a several times. The wrought iron fence is our next project for bid. I will pass along your nice comments to Erica, we were away on future college research for my youngest daughter. Yes! it's that time!

This B&B provided a lovely home base for a week's relaxing stay in Napa. Discussions with other guests over a delicious breakfast every morning provided valuable first-hand reviews of wineries throughout the valley. The excellent relationships the proprietor has established with many wineries and other businesses resulted in fees being waived or discounted upon presenting her business card. We ended each day enjoying the cool Napa air on the Firenze suite balcony over a glass of wine from the selection set out in the parlor every evening. The wi-fi connection was excellent. We did struggle to keep the room at a comfortable temperature using the window a/c unit while also keeping the outdoor lights and early morning sun from our eyes. Room darkening blinds would solve that perfectly.

Thank you and hurry back! It's a bit cooler now as we turn the corner and look forward to Harvest Season. We added a second air conditioner in Firenze, as that room faces the west and in the summer it can get a bit warm during the mid day. Usually by 4/5pm temps begins to cool.I will check into the darkening blinds for the French Door vs the white curtain panel, as all the other draperies in the room close. It is always a challenge to darken/lighten. Today I met with Sun Masters and I think we solved the situation! Also very glad we were able to connect you to the Napa Valley, in addition, our staff at Uncorked at Oxbow are locals and love entertaining our guests I'm sure they had a few referrals too!

Clean room, meet interesting people, very friendly. Food excellent and host Celeste and Bruce make me feel we are at home with friends. Quiet neighbourhood, 5 min walk from restaurants and activities in Napa.

One of our main concerns is the comfort of our guests, the terrace is a beautiful quiet spot especially in the late afternoons, early evenings to enjoy a glass of Napa Valley wine, conversation or read. We stayed here for a family vacation with our grown children, and the experience could not have been better. Celeste is warm and friendly without ever being intrusive, the food is wonderful, and the rooms were spacious and charming. I would definitely return to McClellan Priest B&B. It is a lovely house in a quite neighborhood. Check with them ahead of time if you're planning on visiting wineries. They can waive the tasting and tour fees for many, including Rubicon/Coppola/Inglenook (they keep changing the name). This B&B seems like the best value. The hostess is quite helpful.

The house and rooms are lovely and spacious, but the best part is the host, Celeste. She leaves a bag of maps, winery tour discounts and helpful info for your arrival, so you can show up anytime, and at breakfast she is extremely welcoming. I'm a vegan and she went out of her way to get soy milk and make me multi-course vegan breakfasts. Also, because we were there on a Thursday, we got to go to the winery room of the winery she and her husband run (a beautifully renovated building across from Oxbow market), and got to stay into the evening for the "open mic" - which was more of a jam session of talented musicians from the area. My wife and I highly recommend McClelland Priest B&B.

Local talent and sometimes guests visiting the area perform. Very glad you were to experience it first hand! Awesome Guests! Location is truly great, we really enjoy being located within walking of the Riverfront, Oxbow and Main! After a day of wine tasting who wants or should drive. There are great 5 star restaurants, shops, Oxbow Public market, tasting salons/tasting rooms/bars,Opera House Uptown Theater ,Movie Theater and more all within a few blocks.

Neither my bf and I have ever stayed at a b&b so we only had a vague idea of what to expect from what we've seen in movies. you know- cheesy- and it was! but not in the way that would make you gag. in the way that makes you more pleasantly than you'd care to admit! our room was charming and the fact that there was no tv/radio/internet upstairs really only added to the experience. we had the cutest patio and i really wish we had had more time to enjoy it. the only qualms i had with the room was that a. when we tried to use the jet bath tub it looked like it hadn't been cleaned/used in a while because a few dust bunnies and a spider came rushing out- eew. b. the water temperature never surpassed luke warm!!! some people simply require a hot shower at the beginning/end of their day and the water was sooo cold i literally took 3 minute rinses before i ran out. the brunch was amazing both days. very filling but also delicious and healthy- we had fresh fruit with granola and yogurt both days before the main breakfast courses which were a delicious fresh-baked french toast that had been soaked in buttermilk overnight and topped with powdered sugar and warm syrup. breakfast #2 was an omelet hash that was sooo light and yummy but too huge to finish. Celeste's hookups more than make up for the cost of the b&b. the Rubicon is by far the best comped visit. and at almost all the other places we got buy one tasting get one free when we showed them Celeste's card. Anyway, I could go on and one but I would recommend staying there and specifically our room, FIRENZE, even though it was the cheapest, it was the furthest from the other rooms which is nice for privacy and the cute patio really had me. We met some great folks at breakfast each day (albeit we were both the youngest by a long shot), can't wait to go back!

"Best Surprise" Thank you! Since , we have added a high power wifi, so the signal is more powerful through out the property. These large Victorians are a challenge when trying to blend circa 1879 wit modern 2011. Our baked Tuscan Strata is one of our favorites, you will have to return!

Thank you, yes the Victorian era was quite charming and we have tried our best to restore ongoing. I have owned the property since 1988, converted it to a B&B between 1988-1991 and as guests have seen daily there are small projects going on to make our stay comfortable and still experience the ambiance of the past.

This B&B is perfectly placed in the heart of downtown Napa which makes it walking distance to restaurants, the theater, and several wineries. Celeste is fantastic and very knowledgable. The breakfasts were a wonderful start to the day.

We enjoyed everything about our visit. The room was beautiful, spacious and with some rainy weather, the fireplace was put to good use. The other guests were a delight to visit with during the fabulous breakfast. Celeste's tasting room, Uncorked should not be missed. We had a great time there too.

To celebrate my wife's birthday, I decided to do something unexpected and booked us in to Celeste's delightful B&B. We had only gone to one other B&B many years ago, and really were not sure of what to expect. We had a wonderful time. It's a great old Victorian, very well kept. Some of the old chandeliers were quite impressive. Breakfast with the other guests was a fun way to start your day and meet some interesting people as well. We missed the wine tastings in the evenings as we were always out late. But we did get to sample the wines as they would leave them out for latecomers like us. It is located in a Quiet neighborhood just a block or two from downtown Napa. We really enjoy walking and taking in the area on foot so the location was perfect for us. We stayed in the Firenze suite with a cozy gas fireplace and a period fourposter(the bed itself was quite comfy). All in all it was just what we needed to get away from the snow at Tahoe for a while.

Arrived at the inn and found an envelope with my name at the entrance, the envelope contained the key to the front door, the key to the room, maps, flyers, recommendations, and a nice letter from Celeste (The owner of the B&B) giving details on what was in the envelope. Went into the building, an old beautiful house that's well kept. This was our first time on a B&B so we did not really know what to expect. Got into the room and we were very please of how it was, beautiful bed, nice jacuzzi tub, high ceilings, and very well kept. We left our stuff in the room, grabbed the map and headed to downtown which is at walking distance if you like to walk which we do. Later that evening we went to this wine tasting salon called "Uncorked at the Oxbow" also own by Celeste and she had referenced it in her letter. To our surprise, tasting fee is waived for guests at the B&B. We got to try 10 different wines and the majority are very good wines and also included some cheese. Later Celeste arrived with her husband to the wine tasting salon, she introduced herself and soon we felt her warmth and authentic desire to make us feel at ease and comfortable. She had tons of suggestion on where to go, being for wine tasting or dinner. There are numerous wineries that waive the fee or give you a 2 for 1 deal just by showing the B&B card. Now that is a great deal! We went to Castello di Amorosa and got the full tour at half the price! In the morning Celeste cooks the breakfast for the guests and I want to say that she is an amazing cook!!! Overall our stay was very pleasant, we had a nice room, well located, and a host that goes overboard to please their guests! We want to come back, SOON!!! Celeste, thank you so much for making our stay being a memorable one!!!

Celeste is wonderful. She’s very knowledgeable and helpful about the area. The breakfasts were great! We’ll definitely stay with her again the next time we’re in the area.

A graceful period home. Enjoyed the spacious & beautiful room & charming hostess. We were also invited to a comp tasting at their great new tasting room "Uncorked" in Napa. Help with tastings was readily available. Bed comfy - great breakfast - not excessive. Bring bottled water as you may be dry after wine tasting. Only unusual thing is the "shower" set up in the bath - but it works.

I decided to go with this B&B after reading all of the reviews at Travelocity. Like one of the people writing an extremely negative review, we also were not greeted by Celeste Carducci when we arrived, and got the same envelope full of maps and discount cards. Frankly, looking at the contents, I can't see how anyone who had done any preparation for their trip, even if it was their first time to the region as it was for us, could complain so loudly. One caveat, however, is that we got in late and didn't want to explore past the immediate neighborhood, so an extensive review of the contents was not necessary. Celeste was at breakfast the next morning to explain everything, however. Our room was upgraded from a queen size bed to a king size, so that was nice. Some of the details of the room showed their age and wear, and should be gone over carefully for repair, but this did not detract from the overall nice ambience. Breakfast was a little disappointing, however. Although wonderful and tasty, I always thought that it would have been quite substantial, which it was not. Overall, I would definitely recommend this B&B and would return again at the right price.

We had a great stay here. Our room was fantastic--very majestic and beautiful, clean and well-appointed. The bed was exceedingly comfortable, and all the bathroom fixtures worked well. The jacuzzi tub was nice, and we even had a private entrance! Breakfast was so-so for me, though others enjoyed their eggs more. I think mine were just severely undercooked and runny because I sat down about 5 minutes late for breakfast. Oh well for me. Celeste Carducci, one of the Inn's owners, is a sweetheart. She did everything she could to make us more comfortable, make suggestions to us, and hold polite conversations. I'd definitely stay here again!

Stayed at the Mcclelland Priest on 12/7-12/8 and the best time ever!! The room was spectacular..First floor Master Suite and the Innkeeper was awsome!! Celeste helped us with everything and made the terrific breakfasts each morning. Only one other couple were at the inn the time we wre there so it was like a family at breakfast each morning. If you are going to Nappa make sure you stay with Celeste at the Mclelland Priest. Also you can walk to everything at night, wich helps after dring all that wine during the day. We will be back!!!

I regret we didn't get a chance to meet Celeste during our brief stay on November 22. (We were told she was vacationing in Mexico.) Perhaps if she had been there, she might have been able to resolve some of our issues that necessitated an early departure. I booked the McClelland-Priest I wanted a very special B & B to celebrate our anniversary. We were put off from the beginning that no one was actually there to "warmly welcome[us] at the front entrance's expansive stained glass doors." There was an envelope with a key and a note from Celeste, along with brochures and maps of the area. We wandered around 'yoo-hooing' before we stumbled upon our room. The first impression of 'Puccini' was luxurious enough, but not at all comfortable, as it was blazing hot. We searched in vain for a way to turn off/down the gas fireplace. We finally settled on a low-tech solution: open windows. That solution didn't work well for sleeping, since it was cold, rainy, and a bit noisy from traffic. Although that was the least of our problems sleeping, because the bed was so hard. We had a problem with the lack of privacy afforded by the lace curtain in the bathroom. Since the shade wouldn't stay down, we had to devise a makeshift curtain. We joked that it was like camping, with the conclusion it was better to laugh than cry at that point. We addressed our concerns to Gail, whom we eventually met when we went down for cocktail hour. She was not very helpful, nor cheerful. The other guests were very pleasant, although a few eventually shared their disappointments with their stay at McClelland-Priest. One couple said they would have gone somewhere else if they hadn't prepaid, as we did. It was worth losing the prepayment not to endure spending our anniversary night in a hard bed in a hot room. After the big build-up on B&B.com followed by the huge let-down, we weren't willing to trust another B&B in Napa. Thank goodness for the Marriott.

I regret to have missed you also, but as other guests so kindly have written, they did enjoy their stay. I will address your issues with my innkeepers of which 3 were on duty during my absence on a short family vacation. The Puccini Suite is a very beautiful room, the beds in all rooms, according to guests comments are very comfortable. In your welcome packet which is provided and clearly explained when making your reservation is made available for early or late arrivals. My innkeepers cell phone numbers are also provided per chance you need immediate assistance. We always have someone on premise for normal check in times.Perhaps I need to rethink this convenience and also the rate that was extended. The fireplace pilot light is always on until summer, and actually the weather was rainy and cold according to reports.As an experienced hotel/restaurant manager and owner, I do think Marriott would have been a better fit, as they specialize in standardization. B&B's are truly all unique and different, if you care to revisit, perhaps we will have a second chance to make it right for you. Wishing you a Cheerful Holiday Season. Celeste

Our lodging experience at this grand old historic home was superb. The residence is impeccably maintained and furnished; the breakfast, too, will leave you talking about it for days. Although Celeste was away, Gail took excellent care of us, and made extra efforts to accommodate a special need we had. We had a great time at the McClelland Priest B&B. Celeste was an outstanding hostess!

We arrived on Saturday afternoon with a note and key on porch. We entered the B&B and there was no one to greet us. We made it to the room--all named after Italian cities (Firenze)--and it was very nice. There was supposed to be a note in the envelope explaining everything but we either missed it or it was not included. The next day ran into someone who advised when Breakfast was. This was the only person we saw since arriving. Breakfast included a pear in wine reduction (yummy) and something that resembled a cross between french toast and bread pudding. It was OK but very fattening. Also, could have used chicken apple sausage as a side, but that was it. Very strange. We never did meet the owner. Someone at Breakfast opined they saw her.

Sorry I missed you, but in my afternoon absence my assistant innkeeper Erica and my other innkeeper Gail were here, some times the owner takes one afternoon or day off per week. All guests are invited and encouraged to visit our tasting salon Uncorked at Oxbow, in fact Sat we were hosting a large reception for McClelland -Priest Guests and locals. It was written on the board at the entrance of the B&B plus the map and pass were included in the welcome packet.If you booked through Expedia or BB.com you most likely were not informed of this but for future guests and as past guests have written we try and make it convenient and also cost saving should you arrive early and wish to begin you wine tasting experience. Gail prepared breakfast on Sunday, and I will pass along your comments, but we are very health oriented and mostly organic. In fact I teach sports nutrition at Napa Valley College. I will consider letting people know more of the ingredients used in the recipes. Chicken apple sausage, may be a nice addition but we don't use processed foods. If there are special dietary restrictions we like to know in advance. Thank you for your comment and my only suggestion is that if you have a half day in Napa, then consider it an overview, you might miss a few things as the average stay is 2-3 nights. I was greeted on the phone by Celeste, the owner-when my husband and I arrived she personally met us and we spent about half an hour to get to know each other. The packet of information about the area was marvelous and very useful. We stayed in the Roma suite-- it had a king size bed, huge roman bath, and lovely mabe fireplace. This inn is named after the two first owners and reflects many of their original ideas-- Celeste has embellished the rooms to make the most beautiful inn we have ever seen. We will definitely return to Napa and hope to stay again in this charming old Victorian home.

It was fun and great to host you! Next time you visit and perhaps stay in the Roma Suite you will see how we embellished the decor of the large king size bed, it now truly feels like a "Roman Spa". I have a passion for adding, changing, and adding new decor to the Inn. As you know it is an ongoing process with a home built in 1879. Four of us stayed with Celeste on our anniversarries at the end of September 2010 and are we glad we did!! This place is a late 1800's Victorian style home. the bedrooms are beautiful, the breakfasts were awsome and Celeste is wonderful. You're only two blocks from downtown Napa, and walking is very easy. Celeste took care of making all of our dinner reservations as well as suggested some very nice, winerys to visit. It becomes apparent very quickly that everyone knows Celeste. Just drop her name and see if you don't get the five star tour where ever you go. And tasting fees.....most places waive the fees when you mention Celeste. Don't forget to visit "Uncorked" it's across the street from the Oxbow Market. Uncorked is a different way to enjoy a wine tasting. It's actually a barrell blending. Bruce Ahnfeldt, Celeste's husband of just over a year, is the owner of the establishment. Together, Bruce and Celeste own several acres of grapes which they turn into their own blend of very good wines. At the blending, Bruce will show you how they blend the different wines to come up with the right mix for their award winning wines. After about two hours of hands on blending, you become, in your mind a wine maker.....what fun. I can't say enough about this B&B, and wouldn't think twice of staying anywhere else. We'll be back. Celeste, the owner, really took care of us while we were in Napa. Many of the wine tastings were free or discounted and she had some great recommendations about restaurants and other things to do around the area. The room was spacious. The bathroom was a bit dated, but that is to be expected from a house built in 1879! Everything was very clean and cozy; I would definitely stay there again!

We were not sure what to expect as we booked a room here at the last minute and were really dismayed by the prices at most other places we researched in and around Napa. This turned out to be a very pleasant surprise. The B&B is a classic, beautiful home built in the late 19th century and most elements of the home have been kept true to the style. The rooms are unique, quiet and very comfortable. The location is just a few blocks from the heart of downtown Napa and convenient to head up to the wineries. Celeste, the owner of the B&B, is wonderful, friendly, and very helpful to guests. Celeste gave us a lot of pointers for wineries we would want to visit to suit our tastes and great recommendations for local restaurants. McClelland-Priest will be our first choice when returning to Napa.

This was the first B&B my husband and I have ever been to... and it MADE out Napa Valley Trip!! It was great. We stayed in the Firenze room and it was really perfect. The bathroom was large, calming, and with a jacuzzi tub. There was a fireplace, large COZY bed, great furniture, and a PRIVATE balcony!!! IT was PERFECT. The only thing that was a bit of a turn off were the other guests. Not that they were mean or anything... we just felt a bit out of place because everyone else that was staying here were much older than us! We are a young couple, recently married, and only 28-31yrs old. Most of the guests were about 40+ so we felt like the children in the house. Plus, when trying to make conversation with others, we felt kinda disregarded. But there were a few cooler people who didn't mind having a fun conversation!! P.S. Breakfast is crazy huge and filling. Thanks to everyone that made our stay to relaxing.

My wife and I stayed at McClelland-Priest at the end of August and had a great experience. The property itself is beautiful and very well kept. The breakfast is incredible and filling. Finally, the owner, Celeste Carducci, is very helpful and informative. Staying with her also allows you to get tasting fees waived at most of the notable wineries in the area, which makes staying at McClelland Priest a great value. Not sure if the location is the best for those who don't have a car - since we did so I can't comment on walking distances to places, but the B&B is pretty much in the center of downtown Napa. I highly recommend staying at McClelland Priest!

I've been in B&B all around the world;this is definitely one of the best ones I have had the pleasure to stay in. Great location, incredible hospitality.

The title really describes our opinion of McClelland Priest. My wife and I stayed two nights here to celebrate our 1st anniversary and we really couldn't have been more pleased. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Napa.

Throroughly enjoyed our 2-day visit in the historic home. First class accommodations. Wine tasting agreements are excellent benefit. Very good breakfasts and enjoyed the evening wine tastings. Would definitely plan to visit again.

I chose this place for the rate. However, you get what you pay for. I hostess was not around when we checked in. Apparently she also runs a wine tasting bar as well as teach some wine tasting class. The breakfast was mediocure (yogurt and an egg soufle). I left hungry. I you want moderately inexpensive, stay here, but if you want service or a nice breakfast, find another B&B.

Thank you for your opinion, what I find amazing is that all of my guests that stayed over that time period and during that one evening 7/20 have written all rave reviews. If you really stayed here you would have raved about the B & B and Uncorked at Oxbow the wine tasting salon that we own and where our guests enjoy complimentary full wine flight tastings. For future guests, I don't "work" at a wine bar,not do I teach "wine classes". The truth is that I do have wine receptions for our guests on Tuesdays(7/20 was a Tues.) , Thursdays, Fridays, & Saturdays where we are open from 12 noon to 8:30pm at the tasting salon. We do offer Barrel tastings and blending sessions and that is educational. In addition, we have select wines out in the parlor at the B&B from 6pm on, for guests arriving late, or wanting an aperitif before dinner. Our breakfasts are full 2 courses, and if you would like a 2nd serving we are more than happy to serve you. We go beyond in service as you are catered to here at the B&B and also at the tasting salon. Hope you enjoyed all of the passes for the many wineries where we pre-arranged comp tastings for our guests, and the wineries are an extension of our service. If you did not see me upon check in, that is because many of the guests arrive early to take advantage of the maps and comp tastings.Your welcome packet is available front for your convenience. During the day I am running errands for the B&B, and perhaps a barrel and blending session. As you welcome note says my 800# rolls onto my cell and I am always accessible if not here. So as an angel of hospitality, I most likely offered a special rate for that evening,and will have to rethink the "budget" price point and expectations.

We very much enjoyed our stay here. The room was better than described. We stayed in the Tuscany Carriage House. It is very private, and is actually 2 rooms, with a small sitting room with fireplace attached to the bedroom. The room was very clean and comfortable. I appreciated the full size, name brand toiletries in the bathroom, plus there was a small selection of books for our enjoyment, and a patio with comfortable adirondack chairs right outside our door. Our hostess was very pleasant, but not around much. The place was deserted when we arrived in mid afternoon, but a packet of information was left out for us with our room keys, so we were able to settle in. There was a wine tasting around 7pm some nights. One night no one seemed to be home, and only wine left over from the night before was still out. We were sometimes confused about who were guests and who were hosts; once breakfast was served by a lady we had never seen before and she never introduced herself. Chatting with her in the parlor, we thought she was another guest. The same with the Celeste's partner: we thought he was a guest. We did take advantage of Celeste's connections to local wineries and had our tasting fees waived at several places. This can add up to substantial savings. Be sure to visit Uncorked, the owners' tasting room. John served us there and was a gem. The home was charming, very clean and well maintained. It is near downtown, within easy walking distance of several good restaurants. Breakfast was good, but tended toward very carb-heavy menus. I usually eat a low-carb protein diet and don't eat much sugar for breakfast, would have preferred more savory type foods such as eggs, cheese, and/or breakfast meats. But with that said, I can't complain about the delicious fresh fruit served daily, and the french toast was sumptious. All was beautifully presented. We would happily stay at the McClelland Priest again and certainly recommend it.

Her many contacts and goodwill with a number of the wineries prove to add value for her guests. We were able to take advantage of complimentary tastings at a some of the premier wineries in the Valley as a result of her guidance and contacts. Additionally, the 19th century Victorian home has been meticullously restored and preserved. The home offers great charm and elegance. The setting provides a romantic setting for both young and old. Finally, the breakfasts were thoughtfully prepared with fresh ingredients, to be both nutritious and very filling. I relished every bite, and was braced for a full day of touring Wine Country. Before we left to return home, we were anxiously preparing for our next trip to Napa and the McClelland-Priest Bed & Breakfast. We look forward to returning in 2011.

Thank you, it is really rewarding to hear that you enjoyed the ambiance of our circa 1879 B&B. Preservation,restoration and daily maintenance is ongoing. In addition, I may have mentioned, that I teach Health & Sports Nutrition at Napa Valley College. My philosophy is to use high quality and fresh ingredients and add a nice presentation. I know guests visit the Napa Valley to Wine and Dine but staying healthy is the key. If I can impart one great idea, a simple tasty breakfast offering that looks and tastes great,or a walking /running route, or even a selection of wineries that have perfected organic wines then I feel that I have helped my guests to enjoy a healthy, Napa Valley lifestyle experience.

Had a wonderful two day visit at this B&B! The room was lovely and clean, the innkeeper was extremely helpful about the area and gave out a folder full of passes to tastings! The breakfasts were wonderful, home made treats that helped to jump-start the day. The area was quiet as was the house. Huge roses abounded from most yards. Everything was walkable in Napa. The owners have a tasting location called uncorked-at-oxbow which was great fun.

It's Harvest time in the Napa Valley and the grapes are starting to come in. The roses are still in bloom but the vines are crimson, gold and green. It's time to revisit and enjoy this season, also our Uncorked at Oxbow Harvest Party is 10/23. Thank you and come back!

This in is what B&B's are all about. A great home built in the 1800's, kept in great condition so guest can enjoy a peak at the past and still be comfortable. It's also great to share the time with a great host, Celeste! a well known mover and shaker in the Napa community( from my observation) ) , she seems to know everyone and everyone , knows, respects and likes her. In our brief stay, we felt her sincerity, her desire to show us through recommendations, the best of what Napa has to offer. Would go back happily....
