We stayed two nights last July and are still talking about how much we enjoyed our stay. Celeste made our visit wonderful, and the accommodations were even greater than our hopes. The location is ideally proximate to downtown Napa for walking and a relaxed time table and yet, being within a quiet, green, and historic feeling neighborhood, the house itself is removed from any sense of bustle or congestion. We very highly recommend McClelland Priest B and B.
Thank you! It was great hosting you.

How often does one have the opportunity to visit Italy and Napa at the same time? What a wonderful place - charming, quiet hospitality with a gracious host. Slept peacefully at night and the location was perfect for my business travels. Whether you're considering a departure from the plastic chain hotels or if you're a devoted B&B fan, remember the name - McClelland Priest B&B Inn.
Thank you so much. My mother born in Roma Italy would be very proud! Looking forward to your stay with us again and have a great Holiday Season! Sincerely, Celeste

Only 4 days this stay, wish it could have been more! The owner, the rooms, the location, all make for a perfect stay in Napa. Can walk to all downtown/river front/oxbow restaurants and shops and Celeste knows everyone and everything you need to know for enjoying Napa and wine country.

This stay was even better than the previous ones. You must go to the open mic on thursdays at their Uncorked-at-Oxbow. Food and friendliness are the best. Tony and Laura Czaplicki

This was our first stay in Napa. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The accommodations and overall hospitality were very good. We thought the location was good and within easy walking distance from the main street in Napa.

Stayed 2 nights. Wanted three but was unnavailable. No one was there when we checked in. A package was left outside with keys, instructions and info on surrounding area. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was deliscious. Owners were very friendly and informative while hosting breakfast.

From the moment we arrived, we felt pampered and special. Celeste had a packet of information for us when we arrived that allowed us to explore and visit the wineries at our pace. She has arranged special tastings at selected wineries that were an unexpected treat!! We stayed in the Tuscany Carriage House and it was quiet and secluded. It was a fantastic overnight and I would love to stay there again on our next trip out to Napa.

This is a beautiful building and service is nice, breakfast is good, and staff are freindly. But we had a room on the ground floor which was converted from another use (probably a former library or study) and the bathroom facilities, while adequate and spacious, needed some maintenance/ updating. Most rooms are on second floor, and we did not see those.

The bed and breakfast was beautiful and very close to downtown Napa. We stayed in the Tuscany carriage house which was very comfortable and private - definitely did not disappoint! The two course breakfasts were amazing and being able to talk with other guests was a great way to gain insight on things to do or places to visit while there. Celeste was a fantastic host - very friendly, knowledgeable, knows practically everyone and made us feel right at home. We will absolutely be back!!
Thank you very much, the Tuscany Carriage House was recently refurbished, the new color and soon new draperies will definitely add to the private cottage ambiance.I am very happy to help and serve. Since opening the B&B in 1991, I have established many relationships in the Napa Valley that my guests enjoy as an extension of our service. Cheers and I look forward to hosting you again! Celeste

We stayed here for 2 nights in September. The exterior of the B&B was very pretty. It has been very nicely preserved. Celeste wasn't there to meet us, but an envelope was provided for us with keys and all the information we needed to start our stay. We stayed in the Verdi suite. The room was very large with all the accommodations we would need. The breakfast each morning was very nice and we enjoyed pleasant conversations with the other guests and Celeste. She gave us some great recommendations on wineries (in addition to the package she had already given us). We ended our day at the tasting room for Uncorked at OxBow. Our stay included our tastings and a bottle of wine to take home too. Celeste even arranged for our wine to be shipped home. The B&B was excellently located to walk to the downtown area of Napa. Highly recommend and we would stay here again.
3.4 on September 21, 2013
We spent three nights at the B&B after travelling from the east. Despite the mature nature and reworking of the interior to accomodate a B&B, the rooms were spacious and quiet with modern bathrooms and enough water pressure beating our previous B&B experiences. The food was good, fresh and in large quantities, although the 9:15 time was interesting. The house is ideally suited to stroll to everything in Napa. The price was what we expected and clearly delineated and we received what we expected.
Thank you and very glad you enjoyed your stay and the value of what we offer. Breakfasts are served at 9:15am as that is usually when I can gather most guests to be seated by the time everyone arrives. Sometimes I can serve a bit earlier, sometimes have to push it 15 minutes the other way. We always try and accommodate and for those that have very early departures, a continental style is offered 24/7 with drinks, cereals , pastries...etc.located in the dining room.

Celeste and Bruce are wonderful hosts and have a great B&B and wine tasting room/business. Highly recommended!
4.8 on September 08, 2013
Our room was amazing, clean and we had our own balcony area which was lovely for reading and having some afternoon relaxing time after visiting wineries all day. The staff and innkeepers are SO nice. They are locals and offer a ton of information on where to go. Not to mention their relationships with specific wineries helps narrow down some of the options and offer great discounts for people who stay at McLelland Priest. Our first trip to Napa, and this place was perfect.

Had a wonderful 3 night stay. This place is a great value and the owners are lovely -- and very accommodating (Celeste made me a special breakfast because I can't eat dairy). Location was superb - only 3 blocks to center of town. Room was super cute and really spacious. Would highly recommend and will stay here again on our next Napa trip!

The first time I visit (9/2008), service was good. I get to meet Celeste. Breakfast was good. Celeste was nice, she gave us great tasting tips. Reception was good also, she provide the guests with both white and red wines along with cheese plate. This time (9/2013) I didn't get to see anybody, the breakfast was at least 9:30 or after, I requested early breakfast since we're leaving early that morning. (9:15am, the earliest that she can provide). There were supposed to other guests, but no one show up but us. The lady who cooked our breakfast just peaked in and out of the kitchen and served our breakfast, not saying much. Actually she was talking to a men in the kitchen. I think he just dropped by and was chatting with her the whole time we were having breakfast. When we finished our breakfast and we just left the table and that's the end of it. And the reception the night before, there're just a canteen with some dessert wine and chocolate, I was disappointed since I expected more from my last visit. The highlight of the visit was her wine tasting room, the men who worked at the saloon was very nice and we get to have a bottle of wine from the tasting room for free (as her b&b guest). After this visit, I would search other places before consider coming back next time.
Much has changed since 2008,and much for the better. In 2008 we purchased an historic property to showcase our Ahnfeldt and Carducci Wines. In 2009 we opened Uncorked at Oxbow inviting our guests to enjoy a free & educational experience. It's fun, plus our guests receive over an $80 value in wine tastings/2,a $38-40 bottle of our wine! All of this included in what is truly a very reasonable room rate, not to exclude the guidance, discounts and savings at many of the wineries. Hence the old wine reception. My presence is in the morning creating & serving breakfast, during the day working on the daily operations. Available 24 hrs/day in hospitality, guests have my 800# that # rolls onto my cell. If guests do not see me at breakfast, Marie, Trini or Mariana are on staff throughout the day! My staff at Uncorked at Oxbow is also an extension of our service. Our breakfasts are served at 9:15am. If guests have to leave early we always try and accommodate, especially special dietary restrictions. We invite our guests to use the refrigerator to store any cheeses/food they may have purchased. We do not offer "room service" as we only have 6 guest rooms and do not have the staff to "cook to order". Guests reading this, please note we try and accommodate but prior to 8:30 we are taking care of 12 guests. If a hotel menu and service is expected then that is not our style or offering.Early departures, we added a breakfast table with cereals, protein bars, and invite our guests to enjoy milk, fruits, juices from our commercial kitchen should they have to depart early to catch a flight. We will work around travel schedules within reason, we are a B&B and breakfast time is the gathering time to share stories of the day prior, dinner experiences, meet new people and relax. Thanks again for your comments, and we hope that you enjoyed the many new amenities that have been added since 2008

The carriage house was lovely and so quiet. Loved the house history and the welcome package with connections to some great local wineries. The tasting at Uncorked was very personal and the lemon chocolate pairing was divine! The breakfasts were realIy tasty and a fun way to plan the coming day with others who had tried different vineyards. I have already highly recommended this B&B to many friends planning on trips to Napa.

We had an okay experience at the B&B, but not a great one. The furnishings in our room seemed a little on the worn and dusty side. Breakfast was okay too, but since it was served at 9:15, we skipped it most of the days we were there because we had activities planned that required we be on our way shortly after 8 AM. When we told the hostess we wouldn't be able to join them for breakfast because of our early plans she did tell us we could help ourselves to cereal and feel free to go into the kitchen to get milk, coffee, fruit or whatever. While that was in a way accommodating, it did seem a little more do-it-yourself than I expected for a B&B. So I guess I'd say the place isn't set up very well for early risers.
"Our Cucina is Your Cucina" if you are departing very very early. Yes in a way it is self accommodating but breakfast at a B&B is social gathering time. Our focus is to serve 12 people. There are more than show a bit late than early, must be the wine! Communication goes both ways, if you scheduled appointments prior to 10 am ,then we request to be notified 24 hours prior so that we can try and accommodate plus it is also wasteful to have breakfast prepared and then have no shows. Perhaps very early risers may enjoy a boutique hotel setting. On the rooms side we are always upgrading, painting, renovating as a home built in 1879 is a work in progress, New furnishings, carpeting, lightening, painting,is on the daily plan. Thanks for your insight.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the McClelland Priest B and B. Friendly, cozy, convenient, classy.

Would only recommend this place if you want privacy and no interaction with a host/hostess. Set time for breakfast (9:15am) is a bit rigid for those who would like to spend as much time seeing the sites on their stay.Same foods served 2 days in a row, ok, but nothing special. Left item in the room, sent email requesting that if found please return at my expense. Did not get a response one way or the other.
Thanks for your feedback, and quite surprised as we actually have 3 innkeepers on board through the day and early evening. I have to admit we are a bit different B&B because we actually offer two locations, our B&B and our Uncorked at Oxbow Wine tasting house within walking distance of the B&B and several opportunities for our guests to interact with us and/or our staff. We ask that guests that are planning tours and and tastings, schedule their appointments after 10am so as to enjoy our breakfast time, which is served at 9:15am. We have 6 guest suites, and we as many of our colleague B&B's serve as a group. When guests inform us of early departures we try and accommodate. I am always reachable, if I am on or off premise my 800 number rolls onto my cell. Also I am on our email through out the day if you have left something behind we would have responded plus sent it back as soon as possible or emailed to let you know if we had the item, I just sent a pair of jeans back to Germany! We have a rotational menus and the same breakfast is not served subsequently, but eggs and milk may be a common breakfast ingredient in a recipe. We cater to gluten, lactose, vegetarian and special requests if we know in advance and even when we find out through the guests the morning of, we try and accommodate. If you are a late riser and skipped breakfast and show up at noon, then the integrity of the food is compromised. As I inform our guests that have early early fights we have a breakfast cereal buffet,& breakfast bars in the dining room and invite them to use our kitchen for milk, juice, coffee, tea...etc. The B&B office is located in the back of the house,as an innkeeper/owner we are always on plus we are in and out running the day to day needs of the operation. Sorry we missed you,and please do let us know if we may have something that belongs to you left behind.

I reserved a room for 2 nights during the week (best time to go to Napa) to attend a concert at the Uptown Theater and celebrate my sister's birthday. The house, location and neighborhood couldn't have been better and Celeste was awesome! You feel like a personal guest of hers during your stay and she couldn't have been more gracious. The wine tasting and complimentary bottle of wine were just the icing on the cake for us. Thanks You Celeste for making our visit to Napa such a special event.

Arrival can be anytime as envelope with key and info were left for us. We enjoyed music and free wine and appetizers(some nts are tastings) at their establishment downtown. Also gave us a free bottle of their wine. Breakfast was excellent and cooked to perfection by Celeste who partially trained at my husband's alma mater, Cornell. We all toured each others' rooms and they all are spectacular. Returning with all of family next year

Great Inn and a great location. We stayed for 2 nights and were able to walk to everything in downtown Napa. We brought our bikes as well and got a short, but enjoyable ride in using the Inn as our starting point. The breakfasts were DELICIOUS and the evening snacks they provided were tasty as well. We loved it!

This was my first stay at a B&B and my first visit to Napa and I have to say I don't think I could have had a better experience. Celeste is wonderful. She made it so easy for us to plan our visit and makes an amazing breakfast. She is also incredibly pleasant and available for any questions you have. The room we stayed in, the Firenze, was actually bigger than I though it'd be with it's own private patio and fireplace. And it's the cheapest room! The entire B&B is beautiful, inside and out. Next time I'm in Napa I will not consider staying anywhere else.
5 on July 09, 2013
This was are second stay at the guest house. We took over four rooms and all the party loved the B & B. Celeste is just great and makes a mean breakfast. The complementary wine is fab. I can recommend this place enough. The staff we came accross were just brilliant. Will be back next year. All the rooms are stubbing. Thank you do much Celeste for making out trip to Napa Restaurant around the corner is really great(celedon) Apex Limo service were the only company who would negotiate on price even though it was late in the evening and was a Monday. Seems most companies would prefer to have an empty car than come down a little on price.

Celeste was very accommodating; my room (the Firenze Suite), had a whirlpool bath and a lovely balcony as well as a room air conditioner and pleasant views. The breakfast was home-made and delicious. The wine-tasting and complimentary wine were excellent and a valued addition. The location is very convenient - easy walking to Napa Main Street and walking tour areas. I enjoyed my stay and recommend McClelland-Priest.

Great Value!!! Wonderful Breakfast. Good Location, walking distance to most of downtown. It is a restored bed and breakfast, not a new building... but well maintained. We love the history and architecture that comes with a bed and breakfast. Celeste gave us alot of information and places to visit. Was a bit like having your own travel agent for the area. Several coupons, freebies and suggestions for the day. As well, Celeste fixed breakfast each morning we were there and did a wonderful job. It's nice to see the owner still very involved. This is definantly a great place to come back to at the end of a busy day in the valley. Thanks

Celeste Carducci is a wonderful and entertaining hostess. She told us about the history of the McClelland-Priest house. She is informative about the whole valley. She can get you some great deals to some of the wineries plus you get a free bottle of red or white from her tasting room (Uncorked) across from the Oxbow Public Market. She also has great info on the restaurant scene.

We had our entire family here for a college graduation celebration in Napa. We could not have been happier with our accomodations, location, or food! Our gracious hosts were icing on the cake. I would return and would recommend this B&B to anyone visiting the Napa area.

The location is easily within walking distance to downtown Napa or the Oxbow Market. Our room was very nice and large, with a large balcony/deck. We had a great breakfast each morning before heading out. And the price was very reasonable. We really enjoyed the place and will recommend it to friends.

The room was larger than expected. The high ceilings were a lovely surprise, and really added space to the already comfortable rooms. Downtown Napa was so close, this location was perfect. Breakfast was basically gourmet, much more than expected. Just be ready to socialize in the morning as everyone sits around a large dining table.

My husband and I stayed at McClelland Priest for 4 nights this month for our honeymoon, and it was a wonderful experience. Celeste managed to upgrade us to a bigger room as a great surprise, and was a marvelous host all around. The location is great - you can walk anywhere you need to go in downtown Napa (including Celeste and her husband's wine tasting room Uncorked at Oxbow, where we picked up a really nice bottle). Breakfast is delicious, and the wine in the evening is a lovely touch as well. The house is big and old and beautiful. The whole time was wonderful, and I'd highly recommend it to anybody headed to Napa.

The charm of a B&B is that you're invited into share, not only someone's home but also new friendship and great conversation. It is that, and much more, that made our stay magical. Thank you Celeste for a memorable time, Craig & Elaine

We will definately be back.

We have stayed in several Bed and Breakfasts as my wife and I have traveled, McClelland Priest B&B stands out amoung them as one of the best! Not only is it warm and inviting, but the owner Celeste provides her guests with a wealth of knowledge of the area wineries and the processes invloved in wine making. I would highly recommend McClelland Priest B&B to anyone who is planning a trip to Napa Valley.

Our room was lovely and it was great to get to go to the owner's wine tasting room downtown. Breakfast, however, was disappointing.

The facility was conveniently located and appeared to be well-kept. Upon arrival, we found a package from the hosts including a map of Napa wineries, a list of wineries where we could receive free/discounted tastings, and a coupon for a bottle of wine and free tasting at their testing room. I would stay there again. However, my one negative comment would be that we did not see the owners at all during our two-night stay. There also didn't appear to be anyone acting as host/manager. That's not necessarily a deal-breaker for me, but it does give the appearance the owners may not really care whether or not you choose to stay there.

Our only regret is that we could not stay one more night! This B&B has great character and is walking distance to some fantastic restaurants. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

McClellamd Priest is very conveniently located on the edge of downtown Napa within walking distance of good restaurants and wine tasting rooms and easy to get to by car from both CA-29 and Silverado Trail. Our room, the Carducci Suite was roomy but somewhat on the dark side as there is no overhead lights only lamps. The bathroom has once been a porch area, but was very adequate. When we arrived only the cleaning lady was there who didn't speak English. We didn't get any information about the room or the time for breakfast, which turned out to be 9:20am, That seemed to be a little bit late for us, but this was our first B&B experience so we had nothing to judge by. The breakfasts were very good and filling. Wine was put out in the evenings but by the time we returned we were not up for drinking anything else.

Staying at the McClelland Priest B&B was as memorable as Napa itself. It is a fine Victorian with beautiful original chandeliers, well appointed, and perfectly hosted. Location could not be better. Within walking distance of excellent restaurants, a park for music, and several tasting rooms, you can park your car and enjoy the town. The hosts are well connected to the wine industry (with several of their own high quality signature wines), and able to offer some of the best suggestions for our stay. We will be repeaters and recommending the McClelland Priest B&B from now on. M&M

My wife and I stayed at McClelland Priest for a few days in August. The Inn is a short walk from the main strip in Napa but is own amenities are what make it a real winner. The entire house is fantastic and Celeste's breakfasts are first rate. She was also extremely helpful and friendly, walking all of her guests through the frequently overwhelming list of winers available for visits. Well worth the stay.

Beautiful corner home with an exceptionally large room. We stayed in the Verdi and I was surprised at how large the room was. The bathroom wasn't big, but who spends much time in there anyway! Highly recommend! We didn't have an opportunity to try the breakfast but heard it was exceptional.

This was my second B&B experience ever and this was SO much better than my first in New Orleans. The rooms were great! The food was awesome! And the location was fantastic! I loved being able to walk to restaurants and wine tastings. Thanks, Celeste, for being such a great hostess! And we used all of your relationships with the local establishments to have great meals in town at great prices.

The McClelland Priest B&B was wonderful! We absolutely loved the breakfast. It was delicious and the french toast the best I'd ever had. The Tuscany room we said in was also great; very clean, comfy, and nice. Celeste was incredibly friendly and nice. I would highly recommend it.

Had a wonderful stay at McClelland Priest B&B Inn in Napa - actually had two wonderful stays. Celeste is a wonderful host and was very helpful with information on wine tours and wine tasting locations. Uncorked was a wonderful plus for wine tasting and wine blending class. John Ross is a true gem - he was GREAT. Highly recommend this wonderful B&B Cliff Gillispie

I'm normally not a fan of Victorian B&Bs, but I was looking for something in downtown Napa that wasn't hyper-expensive like the riverside hotels. The McClelland-Priest Inn fit the bill well, within walking distance of our dinner at Celadon and our concert at the Opera House. We slipped in later after the concert, and slept in, missing the breakfast. We stayed in the Verdi Suite, which has a large bedroom, a smaller dressing room and a full bath. The bed was comfortable and the appointments were lavish. (A friend commented that a picture of the wood panelled fireplace looked like a movie set). The only complaint I had was that the room was not dark enough for my tastes -- there ought to be a curtain over the stained glass transom window to block the hall light. As an extra perk, guests of the McClelland Priest Inn get a bottle of wine and a tasting at the owner's tasting room, across from the Oxbow Public Market. I figured this was worth $60 for two people. You also get cards to present to various wineries for discounts, which can save on tasting fees.

Possibly my favorite part about this bed and breakfast is it's location... we walked everywhere we went in Napa! That's not to say that the room wasn't beautiful and clean. Also, Celeste was very accommodating of my vegan diet, even after I forgot to mention it until the morning of breakfast! We'll have to stay longer next time.

McClellan Priest B&B is a beautiful, well-maintained historic property that we will definitely visit again. We have already referred friends. Convenient walk to entertainment, shops, and restaurants make this a carefree getaway destination. Wine lovers will enjoy the many local tasting salons, too, as well as evening tasting at the B&B. Owner Celeste is a beautiful lady who makes you feel at home, and we had a comfortable, happy stay. This is the perfect spot to stay if you are attending a show or concert at the Downtown Theater, as we were. The Theater is just 2 blocks away Thank you, Celeste! David & Darla, Sacramento

We arrived to Napa early. Celeste had prepared an envelope of plkaces to go and see, wine taste, etc and the house key on the front porch! There was a coupon for a free bottle of herCarducci Label Cabernat. Lovely clean home, great breakfast. Would stay again.
5 on June 01, 2012
My wide and I stayed in the Carducci suite and it was fabulous! The two course beakfast was absolutely superb each morning and more than enough to get you started on a day of wine tasting. Access to either Napa Valley or Sonoma is easy from here. Celeste and her husband have their own vineyards and winery. We got a free tasting at their tasting room and got a free bottle of wine. We ended up purchasing a case of various wines from their winery (in addition to a couple of cases from various Napa and Sonoma wineries). They provide you with deals on reduced tasting costs at several other wineries throughout the area John Ross at the tasting room provides service second to nobody in the valley. He even provided shipping boxes and to have the wine we collected during the week sent back home to us. Really makes it easy to not have to haul wine back to the airport. We highly reccomend McClland Preist B&B. Alan Bartholomew

We overall enjoyed our 2 night stay at the inn; I only gave the inn a 3 star for the room as we were placed in a converted garage that was called the carriage house. It was "ok", if I were to stay here again I would recommend to request a room in the main house as we viewed 2 rooms which were done in the Victorian style which were much warmer. The inn keepers are wonderful and they made our stay at the inn exceptional, very nice morning breakfast and the added bonus of a wine tasting at their local wine tasting room downtown. The best thing about the inn is that you can walk anywhere for dinner and not have to bother with your car.
5 on May 25, 2012
Our recent visit, May 21 and 22, 2012, was simply wonderful. Celeste made us feel right at home. She offered great tips about the vineyards, had discount offerings for them as well. Her husband Bruce had some wonderful insights as to vineyards to visit. Breakfast was fantastic. This was my second stay and I can't wait to go back. Staying in the villiage of Nappa is far preferable to staying in hotels where you can't walk to dining and fine tasting rooms. It was heaven in the wine country for me.

McClelland Priest was our first B & B experience, and we were very impressed with the comfort of staying in what is essentially a private home. Our keys and instructions, as well as wine tasting coupons, were waiting when we arrived. The staff was very friendly and breakfast was tasty. We had an opportunity to meet some fellow guests with whom we could share travel stories.. If you want to do something different than the typical commercial hotel...this is the place.

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the McClelland Priest! The Firenze suite had plenty of room for the two of us and the bed was very comfortable. You can tell the owners take pride and love what they do. Along with owning this B&B, they make their own wine and have a tasting room right in Napa - and the free goodies from there they offered us from there were a pleasant surprise. We stayed two nights and even on the weekend night, when the B&B was completely full, our room was blissfully quiet. We highly recommend!

We were so pleased when we drove up to this beautiful, very well kept and inviting B & B. We received an envelope with lots of things to do and places to eat in the area along with a coupon to visit a place in Oxbow for a wine tasting and a free bottle of wine! What a gift! But the absolute best part was the delicious breakfast, the beautiful room and lush grounds all just minutes of walking to the downtown area. And the hostess, who is the cook, is so informative and kind that you just won't want to leave. We will not stay anywhere else on our next trip back to Napa. Thank you!
5 on April 16, 2012
We arrived on a dreary Saturday and learned that the McClelland Priest B&B had a link with an in-town wine tasting venue- Taste at Oxbow. Arriving hungry at the Tasting Room, the steward suggested we try the lobster and mac at the Hog Island. It was wonderful, we were then ready to try their wines. As a guest of McClelland Priest, we received a bottle to take back with us to the B&B. Breakfast the next morning was a full meal with the delightful company of the proprietor and her significant other and other guests. In addition, their buisness cards gave us reduced tasting fees at many of the area wineries. It was a magical weekend and we will visit again!

What a beautiful and charming b&b. This b&b is in a quiet part of town and is within walking distance to many resturants, wine train and tasting salons. Celeste is a warm and inviting innkeeper, she made us feel like family. We were upgraded to the roma suite for 2 nights of our stay, then on to the Firenze suite with a great private terrace. Both rooms were clean and beautifully furnished. Breakfast each morning was healthy, tasty and filling. We would definately recommend spending a few nights at this lovely inn. Saved money with Celeste's knowledge and discounts given to her clients at many wineries. Great price for all the ammenties you will receive.

Our stay at the McClelland-Priest B&B was great! We spent one night in the Puccini Suite and 2 nights in the Carducci Suite. We HIGHLY recommend the Carducci Suite if it's available. The beds in both rooms are VERY comfortable. The one downfall to the Puccini Suite was that the mirror in the bathroom was on the opposite wall from the sink. And really, if that's our only "complaint", I'd say that's nitpicking. The dining room where breakfast is served is very elegant and Victorian. Gorgeous detail in the craftsmanship and period furniture to go along with it. The breakfast served by Celeste was great all 3 days. The first course is always yogurt with granola and fresh fruit. The second course was baked French Toast one day (delish) and some sort of egg omelet concoction the 2 other days. All were VERY good. There is always wine out for tasting during the afternoon, along with chocolates, and water. In the morning, hot water and coffee are available prior to breakfast (along with coffee makers in the rooms). The connections Celeste has throughout the valley made tasting very easy. She has many places highlighted on a map where the tasting fee is either waived or offered at a 2-for-1 rate. This saves lots of money! Well worth the stay and highly recommended!

Wonderful place! Our room was everything we expected and then some. Breakfast each day was exquisite. Only problem is there is no one to talk to in the evenings so if you need something (wine opener), you'll pretty much be out of luck. So come well prepared. Other than that, everything was great. Great location, we were able to walk everywhere.

3 days in the Napa after skiing in Vail and we chose to stay at Mclelland Priest B&B. Our stay hear made our stay in Napa special. The carriage house was wonderful and the bed was so comfortable. The bedroom was not enormous but comfortable and beautifully furnished and there was a separate lounge area- all to suit the house and its era. Breakfast in the main house was excellent and served by the owner Celeste who was so helpful and it was interesting to hear the history of the house. We loved Napa and it was made all the more special by our stay at McLelland Priest. Deb and Keith

We spent three nights here with good friends. The rooms in this gorgeous old home were lovely and were decorated with appropriate period flare. Celeste was a treasure chest of information and congenialty. She helped map our days. Nice extras were afternoon wine in the parlor, jacuzzi tubs, beautiful bed linens and great beds and gas fireplaces. Romantic and comfortable at the same time. Be aware that only one room is on the first floor, and the staircase going up is s mini-Tara
Thank you and looking forward to hosting you again. Yes, the staircase is quite the work of art! Imagine the carpenters who built it back in 1879,it is semi suspended and all hand carved beautiful wood. Just a note The Carducci Suite is on the main floor , we also have the Tuscany Carriage house, no stairs. Look forward to hosting you again, and Happy Holidays!

The B&B is probably one of the best values you will find in the Napa area. The rooms are elegant and the inkeeper is quite the mover & shaker in the Napa community. She's buddies with many of the wineries and between their own tasting room (Uncorked) and the waived tasting fees, your room is almost free. If we had made a day trip from San Francisco and hit 3 wineries for tastings, the combined fees for the two of us would have been between $90 and $200; add in the bottle of wine we got at Uncorked, and we'd be over $200. But having stayed with Celeste, we were in a lovely room that cost $189 (already more reasonable than her competiters), received a lovely breakfast, and then went tasting in the Valley. Only thing--the reservation system seemed a little convoluted; one of the rooms we were in was rather chilly (even with the fire burning), and the pillows were mostly lumpy foam, when feather would make more sense and match the rest of the sensibility. We'll be back, though.
Thank you! We always try and add value for our guests, thank you for the comment on the pillows,we replace our pillows very frequently and try not to use down or feathers as many people have allergies, but will look into a similar substitute.Hope to host you again soon! Happy Holidays!

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights in the Roma suite, and it was absolutely perfect! The property is extremely well kept, the house is an architectural gem, and the room was flawless. Celeste is the most fabulous host; she has abundant knowledge of the history of the B&B, the town of Napa, and the valley and wineries. Her morning meals were delicious and filling and her company and conversation made us feel at home immediately. It was such great fun to meet the other guests at the breakfast table and enjoy stories of our daily adventures with them. Don't hesitate to book this awesome B&B; you will not be disappointed! We look forward to a return visit as soon as we can. --Gordon & Brenda

The one thing I would suggest is the addition of a TV in the common area or in each room. Everything else was satisfactory.
Thank you and just wish I would have known, we do have a TV in our kitchen/family room and make it available upon request. In fact two of my guests last week were watching the Kentucky/West Virginia game with our dogs Blitz(Boston Terrior)and Bella(standard poodle).Next time, Happy Holidays! PS. We had Comcast come in and give us a bid on TV's,it's a tough job to wire an 1879, 2 story ,5000sq ft. Victorian but we are working on it!

The house is beautiful, on quiet street yet perfect for walking to restaurants. Breakfasts are healthy and yummy! Celeste is a font of information about the area and her cards gained us free/discounted tastings. We first discovered McClelland Priest about 10 years ago and were so delighted with Celeste and her lovely B&B that we never forgot it. We finally returned last month and were even more impressed with our stay. Not only was our room (Roma) simply decadent with a hot tub, 4-poster King bed, the addition of the their own winery and tasting room was wonderful new feature. Celeste served healthy and delicious breakfasts, and wine in the parlor. She also provided a list of wineries she had arranged to waive tasting fees, treating us to savings and an insider's experience. Also, their private label Oxbow Cork and Wine reserve cabernet rivals custom vintages that are many times the price! If you are looking for an outstanding B&B experience in the heart of Napa, we highly recommend McClelland Priest and Celeste.

OUr visit to Napa and stay at the McLelland Priest B&B were part of our first trip to California. We have so many reasons to plan our next trip, but our stay at the MP was one of the highlights. Our first glimpse of the home as we drove up the street told us we'd chosen well. What a spectacular house! Our suite - the Tuscany Carriage House - was quaint and spacious, and very private. Breakfast each morning was delicious, as was coffee in the drawing room. Celeste is a perfect host. She provided us with so many opportunities and information, and is such a genuine, generous and fun person to get to know. Our stay was perfect. There's nothing more I can add. This made our first California vacation absolutely wonderful. Karen & Steve Winnipeg, Canada

The owner of this B&B is 100% in understanding of how to run a business. She is on top of questions, issues, ideas, etc. Celeste has it down to a science. The location of this property is just another plus. It is within a short walk to almost anything Napa. I would use this B&B again in a heartbeat.

McClelland Priest is in a great location in the town of Napa. Its a short walk to the downtown area where there are multiple choices for dining and shopping. Celeste has contacts all over the valley and provides a winery map where you can get discounted tastings. She and her husband also have their own wines available at their tasting room in the town of Napa. Napa was the start of our honemoon and this stay certainly set the tone for a memorable, wonderful trip. The McClelland Priest B&B was charming and we loved the rooftop porch off the Firenze Suite that was ours alone. We loved ending the day with a glass of wine watching the stars. Even though we were a short two blocks to downtown, it was very quiet. Celeste, the owner, was involved with many things- a family wedding and the birth of a new baby, but she prepared a lovely, delicious breakfast and had wine waiting in the evening. The house is very clean and well appointed with wonderful bedding and robes in the closet. My husband and I would love to go back and stay a little longer next time.

Wouldn't say it was the best B&B I've been to. Was clean and location was convenient. For the area it was the best deal. Breakfast tasted good with yogurt, fruit and baked french toast but a side of eggs or sausage would have been nice. Can see why the prices were lower than some of the other B&B I've been to in the area.
Thank you for your breakfast suggestion, but I like to attract and offer to my special guests, healthy food selections that taste great. The baked French toast is made with eggs so adding a side of eggs would be contributing to what our nation faces daily and that is over consumption. Sorry but sausage, bacon, ham, is not served here at our B&B unless it is requested in advance or if someone is on a special diet high in fat. Just to note for future potential guests reading this ,we try and accommodate special dietary food restrictions , with advance notice, and we try our very best. Today I had 2 vegetarians, a diabetic, and 4 athletes at my breakfast table. Fun! They were all accommodated, satisfied and very complimenting on breakfast. If you would have stayed perhaps a few days then you would have experienced the good variety of our breakfast selections. Actually this comment does not seem typical of the guests we attract. Honestly, Bed and Breakfast.com Diamond Rating has encouraged us to increase rates. $400-$500/night, I feel is very unreasonable, and I like to offer great value and fun. Our location is more than convenient, it's amazing! It's close to the hot spots such as the Riverfront, Oxbow Public Market, we are located in Napa's popular "West End" a block from The Uptown Theater which next week is featuring Chicago, Willie Nelson and Bruce Hornsby. Thanks for your report on your experience if you really actually did stay here! One more note, if you visit another B&B and feel you would like a side dish, just ask. B&B owners usually go out of their way to make it happen!

Our two night stay at McClelland Priest was fantastic in every way. Our room was elegant, the breakfast, served by our hostess, Celeste, was wonderful and the proximity to town (5 min walk), was great as we did not have to drive to our choice of many excellent restaurants. Also in town was the tasting room (free!) of their premium botique winery. The wines were so good we ordered the wine club offerings for our children--three bottles shipped four times a year, excellent wine and excellent value. There we were also able to buy top quality wine at a good price which we brought to dinner. That was in addition to Celeste serving wine for our happy hour at the Inn in the late afternoon. The entire experience at McClelland Priest greatly exceeded our expectation. Thank you again, Celeste.
Thank you too for your compliments! Thank you for joining our wine club, I look forward to hosting you again and also hosting your children when they visit Napa Valley. For future potential guests reading this I would like to you to know.....we have added a few new amenites: Bath robes, more soaps, shampoos, conditioners, extra blankets and pillows and.... all of our guests upon visiting our Uncorked at Oxbow tasting Salon will present my new pass and not only will you receive the complimentary tasting of the daily featured wines but also a complimentary bottle of our Provocative Napa Valley Cabernet or Chardonnay.Enjoy it in your spacious guest suite or take it to dinner. Another great value as our McClelland-Priest guests are VIP.Can't wait to host you again!

Great location, wonderful bed linens. Food was rather boring. Basically the same fruit dish both days.
Thank you for your comment, we actually added more bed linens, blankets, pillows and robes! My house keeper takes great pride in her work, as she irons daily all of our linens. As far a breakfast, I have to apologize as it appears that you only had half of the experience. The fresh fruit course, or fresh seasonal baked fruit crisps, or baked banana souffle are some selections that we make for our first of our full 2 course gourmet breakfasts. If we serve fresh fruit, then we use different fruits daily, topped with a natural yogurt and an organic granola/nut combination and the final touch- a dop of light whip cream. Then the second course....a variety: the baked French toast souffle is a favorite, I have actually had guests that stay more than 2 nights re-request that selection. Our variety of Italian baked Stratas, are also tasty selections. We have a herb garden, and use the beautiful homegrown rosemary, basil, sage or oregano in recipes and as garnishes. As we enter the harvest season, both courses tend to be a baked selection. Once again thanks for your comment.

The bed and breakfast and beautiful and the inn keeper is very pleasant. The McClelland Priest is centrally located and within walking distance to some great restaurants. We were not blown away by the breakfasts. We have stayed in bed and breakfasts across the country and might be spoiled but we stayed three nights and had the same breakfast twice (stuffed french toast) which was OK. The second day the breakfast was served rather late which is OK since we were on vacation but did result in a late start to our exploring the valley.
Timing is everything, thanks for your input on breakfast we try and get everyone seated together, that is why we have a 15 minute margin for serving. The wineries open at 10/10:30 or 11 am. All of our guests are served and usually out of the B&B in route to the wineries by 10am. Some guests just like to stay , relax and walk into downtown Napa, minutes from the B&B to experience the wineries at their local tasting room. Just a note to future guests, if you make appointments at wineries on your own then let us innkeepers know in advance. We do not serve breakfast to order as part of the B&B experience is to meet and experience new people at breakfast. It is a dining experience, and usually the only time we have you all captured in one room together to talk and answer questions on architectural history, wineries, vineyards, ourselves, our family, how we got into the business, how long....etc. If an app't is made at 10am in Calistoga then you need to depart Napa by 8:30am,especially if it is as busy as it is now. If we know that you have a reasonable early flight,or an appointment, we try and accommodate at least with the first course, or put some healthy to go items together. If guests like to get up and go and be out he door by 8/9am then I would not suggest a B&B for the lodging choice. As for the baked French toast souffle',there may have been the chance that the breakfast message got passed along wrong between myself or my innkeeper daughter. Sorry about the double experience, it can happen, but it's not our practice. Hope you had a great and adequate time exploring Napa Valley!

The room was clean and ready on time. We really appreciated the fact that the room had a separate bathroom. Great location and great restaurants close by! Celeste was extremely helpful and easy to reach when she was not on the property.
Thanks for the compliments and also the understanding that we as innkeepers are 24/7. We may not be on property 24/7 but YOU are hooked to us 24/7.I am here every morning unless I have an innkeeper(daughters)filling in to give Mom a break. The behind the scene actions include shopping for the B&B foods, supplies, which is usually daily. I can speak for myself, I use fresh and shop daily usually local farmers market, Wholefoods and a few items from Trader Joes or Safeway. Restaurants have closing times, B&Bs,lodging facilities are open 24 hours. My 800# rolls onto my cell phone and I can't but help tell you how many times I have taken a 5am reservation from a East Coast guest(8am NY time). Thank you again,I am glad I could be helpful and serve you!

This is a cute bed and breakfast in the heart of Napa. The location is great - in walking distance of the restaurants in downtown Napa. The owner is nice, but was a bit busy the weekend we were there, and we only saw her at breakfast. The free wine tasting that was included was nice, but we were a bit disappointed that some of the wineries she told us that would waive the tasting fee if we gave her card, didn't seem to recognize the card when we gave them and still charged us. All in all though, it was a pleasant stay.
Thanks you for your nice review, yes it has been quite busy here in the Napa Valley especially as we approach Harvest Season. Lately a few of the wineries on our itinerary have added new staff people with the increase of tourists visiting the area. Sometimes the new staff person is unaware of the program and has not been brought up to speed on our B&B partnership with the winery. . If you would be so kind to email me and let me know which of these you experienced that charged you I will contact them. Also I recommend that guests stay a minimum of 2 nights,so that they have the opportunity to meet me and /or my daughters that are innkeepers. Our focus is bed and breakfast, and a majority of the time spent with guests to get them programmed on their day is at breakfast, or on the phone or e mail prior to their arrival. In the evening we have wines in the parlor, and we also provide a wonderful complimentary full tasting of our own wines at our wine tasting salon Uncorked at Oxbow which is a great place, great wines and staff. The wine you will taste at Uncorked at Oxbow , free of charge, range from $25-$50+/bottle depending upon what we are featuring. We also offer barrel and blending session to help educate guests on the making and blending of wines. The evening wines available at the B&B are an extra amenity for our guests and represent many of the wineries where we have pre-arranged with our winery partners to offer you comp tastings during your travels to the vineyards .As you mentioned in your profile, you rarely stay at B&B's, just a note we are all different, and that is what makes us unique: architecture, historic locations, convenience to downtown restaurants, vineyard settings, and also understand in many B&B's it is our private residence too. In our case our daughter is an innkeeper and resides on premise, our innkeeper # rolls onto our cell phone.Again thanks for your input.

My husband and I recently stayed at the McClelland Priest Bed and Breakfast for our 19th anniversary. It was just what we were looking for! Walking distance to everything you need in downtown Napa. When we arrived, Celeste not only greeted us, but visited with us and gave us valuable information about things to do! We met great people at breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We will tell our friends about the McClelland-Priest and will return for another stay.
Love it! Thanks for staying with us and we look forward to hosting you again! Next time we'll schedule a barrel and blend session at Uncorked at Oxbow which will give you additional information as you tour from vineyard to vineyard!

Celeste and her daughter Erica run a beautiful B & B. The place is immaculate and yet warm and inviting. The century old house is charming with exquisite antique decor and a dozen personal touches that make one feel as if rooming with friends. Quiet street, quiet house and a delicious breakfast every morning. No TV, but WiFi within, so we were able to communicate with family back home via email. We stayed in the Pucchini and our friends stayed in the Tuscany--both were lovely.

We stayed for 2 nights in the Roma Room. The B&B overall was clean and cozy although it could use some renovation and smelled a little musty. The Roma had a jacuzzi tub in the room but was situated near the bed by the bay windows. Was just a little off putting. The sink faucet was also "odd". These are picky complaints as the experience overall was very pleasant. Celeste was very accommodating and a great source for those visiting vineyards for the first time. Would stay there again but would probably find a room with a sitting area rather than jacuzzi.

This was our second stay and we enjoyed it just as much as our first stay two years ago. We love that there is wine out in the evenings and a seated breakfast with all the guests each morning. It is a unique experience that we truly enjoy. Celeste is a wonderful host. She is extremely knowledgeable on the restaurants and wineries in the area. We hope to continue to visit for years to come.

Thank you very much, Erica my oldest daughter grew up here and in the business, she is a natural. Gianna who is now 17yrs, also grew up here and loves to chat with guests. I will pass along your review thanks again, many times our guests feel like family!

We stayed at the McClelland B&B for three nights. The Carducci Suite was very large, the bed super comfy and everything was clean and tidy. The wine in the evenings gave us a chance to meet other guests and got to compare notes on what to do and where to go. Celeste (the InnKeeper) was absolutely the best resource for information and droppping her name got us lots of discounts on tastings in Napa. The homemade breakfasts were delicious and filling. We would stay there again.
Thank you, we added another new strata recipe! A great start to your wine tasting /touring day. The Napa Valley is continually surprising us with new wineries, projects and so much to see and do. I find it helpful to try and direct guests, especially if it is a first time to Napa, and gladly we saved you a bit in fees! I always recommend that guests stop by here first to pick up my welcome packet. The room most likely is ready after 2pm but the maps, itinerary and my cards will help in choosing some wineries and saving you in tasting fees.

I had an excellent stay at McClelland Priest while in Napa. Celeste was a wonderful hostess as was her daughter who helped us while Celeste was away. I would highly recommend their warm hospitality to anyone traveling through Napa Valley.
Thank you and we are happy that you enjoyed your stay and my daughter Erica's hospitality. Once in a while, we need to travel either for the wine business or family. This time, my daughter Gianna ,who will be a senior in high school this year, began her search for colleges, and we took her away. Thank you for your recommendations!

My fiancée and I stayed at the Tuscany carriage house for a night on our recent trip to Napa Valley. The Victorian style home was very beautiful, but in some disrepair. However, we enjoyed a pleasant night of drinking wine in the little porch nook on the side patio after returning from dinner. The Carriage house was unexpectedly spacious and comfortable, but the jetted tub had a slight issue with mildew. Nothing major, but noticeable. The main bed was very comfortable. We did not have occasion to try the day bed in the fireplace room. Breakfast was good. The first course was a very delicious fruit, granola, and cream dish. The second was a variation on a frittatada. It was good, but the granola was the clear winner. Celeste was on vacation herself and so her daughter Erica was hosting, cooking, and serving our meal. She was very gracious and did a great job. All-in-all our stay was quite pleasant and it is likely that on return trips we will consider staying here again.
Thank you, we checked into the tub and have taken care of the grout, it wasn't mildew just discoloration. Also we have on going "repair" projects, and believe me nothing goes unnoticed. Our 1879 Victorian, is always a work in progress as we start at the front and work to the back. I have been the owner since 1988 and have been from front to back a several times. The wrought iron fence is our next project for bid. I will pass along your nice comments to Erica, we were away on future college research for my youngest daughter. Yes! it's that time!

This B&B provided a lovely home base for a week's relaxing stay in Napa. Discussions with other guests over a delicious breakfast every morning provided valuable first-hand reviews of wineries throughout the valley. The excellent relationships the proprietor has established with many wineries and other businesses resulted in fees being waived or discounted upon presenting her business card. We ended each day enjoying the cool Napa air on the Firenze suite balcony over a glass of wine from the selection set out in the parlor every evening. The wi-fi connection was excellent. We did struggle to keep the room at a comfortable temperature using the window a/c unit while also keeping the outdoor lights and early morning sun from our eyes. Room darkening blinds would solve that perfectly.
Thank you and hurry back! It's a bit cooler now as we turn the corner and look forward to Harvest Season. We added a second air conditioner in Firenze, as that room faces the west and in the summer it can get a bit warm during the mid day. Usually by 4/5pm temps begins to cool.I will check into the darkening blinds for the French Door vs the white curtain panel, as all the other draperies in the room close. It is always a challenge to darken/lighten. Today I met with Sun Masters and I think we solved the situation! Also very glad we were able to connect you to the Napa Valley, in addition, our staff at Uncorked at Oxbow are locals and love entertaining our guests I'm sure they had a few referrals too!

Clean room, meet interesting people, very friendly. Food excellent and host Celeste and Bruce make me feel we are at home with friends. Quiet neighbourhood, 5 min walk from restaurants and activities in Napa.
Thank you, and we are pleased that you felt like home! Next time you are traveling on business be certain to visit us again! Our guests love the convenience of walking to the downtown restaurants, shops, Uptown Theatre(Chicago and Willie Nelson are coming in Sept!)and all of our great wine tasting salons and bars.

We chose this room because it had an outdoor sitting area, but it was unusable most of the day because there was no shade. An umbrella would solve the problem. The winery discounts at tasting rooms were excellent.
Thank you for your review, it was great hosting you and I am very pleased that you were able to utilize our wine tasting itineraries and passes. The Firenze Suite is one of our guests' most favorite suites as it is a bit more private and has the garden deck/terrace. Recently, we painted the terrace and removed the furniture and umbrellas, sorry about the umbrellas wish you would have mentioned as they obviously were not put back! One of our main concerns is the comfort of our guests, the terrace is a beautiful quiet spot especially in the late afternoons, early evenings to enjoy a glass of Napa Valley wine, conversation or read. Once again thank you, we can only get better! Celeste

Good communication between Innkeeper and guests. Great food, great location. Very enjoyable stay!
Thank you , communication is key and we try to communicate prior to guests' arrival. If we make the reservation we speak with our guests,and/or email. If it is made by a booking platform many times we do not get key information like telephone #'s or email so advance planning and check in procedures/options can not be set up in advance. If our guests arrive early we try and set up the day so you can perhaps check in and get your packet full of information. Thank you for your kudos! Celeste

We stayed here for a family vacation with our grown children, and the experience could not have been better. Celeste is warm and friendly without ever being intrusive, the food is wonderful, and the rooms were spacious and charming. Included at no additional cost are tastings at some of the finest wineries in Napa, some of which charge $40 - $50 per tasting. We can't wait to come back!
Thank you cannot wait to host you again. It's great when guests appreciate the overall value and experience!

A very relaxing, inviting room, in a great old home. The home is well kept and true to its period. Within walking distance of so much in downtown Napa. But the innkeeper and her staff are what really made our experience. They truly treated us as if we were staying in their personal home and not a B & B. We will return. Dina, Pasadena
Hi Dina, thank you! I passed on your compliments to my daughter Erica, and also my great housekeeper of 8 years. Not to forget Marie who frequently assists us! It's still a family business and daily we enjoy hosting guests like you!

I would definitely return to McClellan Priest B&B. It is a lovely house in a quite neighborhood. Check with them ahead of time if you're planning on visiting wineries. They can waive the tasting and tour fees for many, including Rubicon/Coppola/Inglenook (they keep changing the name). This B&B seems like the best value. The hostess is quite helpful.
Thank you for your review and also letting future potential guests know of our connections. Being helpful is important especial prior to guests' arriving. Email or a phone call in advance can be assuring, I would suggest future guests always call before arrival as all B&B's are different.

The house and rooms are lovely and spacious, but the best part is the host, Celeste. She leaves a bag of maps, winery tour discounts and helpful info for your arrival, so you can show up anytime, and at breakfast she is extremely welcoming. I'm a vegan and she went out of her way to get soy milk and make me multi-course vegan breakfasts. Also, because we were there on a Thursday, we got to go to the winery room of the winery she and her husband run (a beautifully renovated building across from Oxbow market), and got to stay into the evening for the "open mic" - which was more of a jam session of talented musicians from the area. My wife and I highly recommend McClelland Priest B&B.
Awesome! So are you, thank you... you took in the total experience B&B and our Uncorked at Oxbow tasting salon. Yes open mic nights (bi-monthly) are great. Local talent and sometimes guests visiting the area perform. Very glad you were to experience it first hand! Also I teach Sports Nutrition at Napa Valley College, and I am very aware or food allergies, and eating choices. We always try and accommodate. We (my daughters Erica and Gianna & myself) are quite up on specific dietary restrictions,or requirements. We purchase local and enjoy cooking with natural foods/organic daily. Look forward to hosting you again!

Neither my bf and I have ever stayed at a b&b so we only had a vague idea of what to expect from what we've seen in movies. you know- cheesy- and it was! but not in the way that would make you gag. in the way that makes you more pleasantly than you'd care to admit! our room was charming and the fact that there was no tv/radio/internet upstairs really only added to the experience. we had the cutest patio and i really wish we had had more time to enjoy it. the only qualms i had with the room was that a. when we tried to use the jet bath tub it looked like it hadn't been cleaned/used in a while because a few dust bunnies and a spider came rushing out- eew. b. the water temperature never surpassed luke warm!!! some people simply require a hot shower at the beginning/end of their day and the water was sooo cold i literally took 3 minute rinses before i ran out. the brunch was amazing both days. very filling but also delicious and healthy- we had fresh fruit with granola and yogurt both days before the main breakfast courses which were a delicious fresh-baked french toast that had been soaked in buttermilk overnight and topped with powdered sugar and warm syrup. breakfast #2 was an omelet hash that was sooo light and yummy but too huge to finish. Celeste's hookups more than make up for the cost of the b&b. the Rubicon is by far the best comped visit. and at almost all the other places we got buy one tasting get one free when we showed them Celeste's card. Anyway, I could go on and one but I would recommend staying there and specifically our room, FIRENZE, even though it was the cheapest, it was the furthest from the other rooms which is nice for privacy and the cute patio really had me. We met some great folks at breakfast each day (albeit we were both the youngest by a long shot), can't wait to go back!
"Best Surprise" Thank you! Since , we have added a high power wifi, so the signal is more powerful through out the property. These large Victorians are a challenge when trying to blend circa 1879 wit modern 2011. Our baked Tuscan Strata is one of our favorites, you will have to return!

Thank you, yes the Victorian era was quite charming and we have tried our best to restore ongoing. I have owned the property since 1988, converted it to a B&B between 1988-1991 and as guests have seen daily there are small projects going on to make our stay comfortable and still experience the ambiance of the past.

This B&B is perfectly placed in the heart of downtown Napa which makes it walking distance to restaurants, the theater, and several wineries. Celeste is fantastic and very knowledgable. The breakfasts were a wonderful start to the day.
Thank you! April is a wonderful time to travel to Napa, we are happy that we can impart our Napa Valley Lifestyle to our guests. My husband and I have been in the Napa Valley since the mid 1980's. Between the both of us, owning vineyards, and representing our wines we are able to open the door to great connections. We are pleased that you enjoyed your Napa Valley Stay!

To celebrate my wife's birthday, I decided to do something unexpected and booked us in to Celeste's delightful B&B. We had only gone to one other B&B many years ago, and really were not sure of what to expect. We had a wonderful time. It's a great old Victorian, very well kept. Some of the old chandeliers were quite impressive. Breakfast with the other guests was a fun way to start your day and meet some interesting people as well. We missed the wine tastings in the evenings as we were always out late. But we did get to sample the wines as they would leave them out for latecomers like us. It is located in a Quiet neighborhood just a block or two from downtown Napa. We really enjoy walking and taking in the area on foot so the location was perfect for us. We stayed in the Firenze suite with a cozy gas fireplace and a period fourposter(the bed itself was quite comfy). All in all it was just what we needed to get away from the snow at Tahoe for a while.
WOW! ....."unexpected, wonderful, great, impressive, interesting, quiet, perfect, cozy, comfy....Get A Way! Thank you!

Arrived at the inn and found an envelope with my name at the entrance, the envelope contained the key to the front door, the key to the room, maps, flyers, recommendations, and a nice letter from Celeste (The owner of the B&B) giving details on what was in the envelope. Went into the building, an old beautiful house that's well kept. This was our first time on a B&B so we did not really know what to expect. Got into the room and we were very please of how it was, beautiful bed, nice jacuzzi tub, high ceilings, and very well kept. We left our stuff in the room, grabbed the map and headed to downtown which is at walking distance if you like to walk which we do. Later that evening we went to this wine tasting salon called "Uncorked at the Oxbow" also own by Celeste and she had referenced it in her letter. To our surprise, tasting fee is waived for guests at the B&B. We got to try 10 different wines and the majority are very good wines and also included some cheese. Later Celeste arrived with her husband to the wine tasting salon, she introduced herself and soon we felt her warmth and authentic desire to make us feel at ease and comfortable. She had tons of suggestion on where to go, being for wine tasting or dinner. There are numerous wineries that waive the fee or give you a 2 for 1 deal just by showing the B&B card. Now that is a great deal! We went to Castello di Amorosa and got the full tour at half the price! In the morning Celeste cooks the breakfast for the guests and I want to say that she is an amazing cook!!! Overall our stay was very pleasant, we had a nice room, well located, and a host that goes overboard to please their guests! We want to come back, SOON!!! Celeste, thank you so much for making our stay being a memorable one!!!
What can I say, great guests that enjoyed the total experience! Thank you as this is what we do and enjoy it!

A graceful period home. Enjoyed the spacious & beautiful room & charming hostess. We were also invited to a comp tasting at their great new tasting room "Uncorked" in Napa. Help with tastings was readily available. Bed comfy - great breakfast - not excessive. Bring bottled water as you may be dry after wine tasting. Only unusual thing is the "shower" set up in the bath - but it works.

I decided to go with this B&B after reading all of the reviews at Travelocity. Like one of the people writing an extremely negative review, we also were not greeted by Celeste Carducci when we arrived, and got the same envelope full of maps and discount cards. Frankly, looking at the contents, I can't see how anyone who had done any preparation for their trip, even if it was their first time to the region as it was for us, could complain so loudly. One caveat, however, is that we got in late and didn't want to explore past the immediate neighborhood, so an extensive review of the contents was not necessary. Celeste was at breakfast the next morning to explain everything, however. Our room was upgraded from a queen size bed to a king size, so that was nice. Some of the details of the room showed their age and wear, and should be gone over carefully for repair, but this did not detract from the overall nice ambience. Breakfast was a little disappointing, however. Although wonderful and tasty, I always thought that it would have been quite substantial, which it was not. Overall, I would definitely recommend this B&B and would return again at the right price.

We had a great stay here. Our room was fantastic--very majestic and beautiful, clean and well-appointed. The bed was exceedingly comfortable, and all the bathroom fixtures worked well. The jacuzzi tub was nice, and we even had a private entrance! Breakfast was so-so for me, though others enjoyed their eggs more. I think mine were just severely undercooked and runny because I sat down about 5 minutes late for breakfast. Oh well for me. Celeste Carducci, one of the Inn's owners, is a sweetheart. She did everything she could to make us more comfortable, make suggestions to us, and hold polite conversations. I'd definitely stay here again!

I regret we didn't get a chance to meet Celeste during our brief stay on November 22. (We were told she was vacationing in Mexico.) Perhaps if she had been there, she might have been able to resolve some of our issues that necessitated an early departure. I booked the McClelland-Priest I wanted a very special B & B to celebrate our anniversary. We were put off from the beginning that no one was actually there to "warmly welcome[us] at the front entrance's expansive stained glass doors." There was an envelope with a key and a note from Celeste, along with brochures and maps of the area. We wandered around 'yoo-hooing' before we stumbled upon our room. The first impression of 'Puccini' was luxurious enough, but not at all comfortable, as it was blazing hot. We searched in vain for a way to turn off/down the gas fireplace. We finally settled on a low-tech solution: open windows. That solution didn't work well for sleeping, since it was cold, rainy, and a bit noisy from traffic. Although that was the least of our problems sleeping, because the bed was so hard. We had a problem with the lack of privacy afforded by the lace curtain in the bathroom. Since the shade wouldn't stay down, we had to devise a makeshift curtain. We joked that it was like camping, with the conclusion it was better to laugh than cry at that point. We addressed our concerns to Gail, whom we eventually met when we went down for cocktail hour. She was not very helpful, nor cheerful. The other guests were very pleasant, although a few eventually shared their disappointments with their stay at McClelland-Priest. One couple said they would have gone somewhere else if they hadn't prepaid, as we did. It was worth losing the prepayment not to endure spending our anniversary night in a hard bed in a hot room. After the big build-up on B&B.com followed by the huge let-down, we weren't willing to trust another B&B in Napa. Thank goodness for the Marriott.
I regret to have missed you also, but as other guests so kindly have written, they did enjoy their stay. I will address your issues with my innkeepers of which 3 were on duty during my absence on a short family vacation. The Puccini Suite is a very beautiful room, the beds in all rooms, according to guests comments are very comfortable. In your welcome packet which is provided and clearly explained when making your reservation is made available for early or late arrivals. My innkeepers cell phone numbers are also provided per chance you need immediate assistance. We always have someone on premise for normal check in times.Perhaps I need to rethink this convenience and also the rate that was extended. The fireplace pilot light is always on until summer, and actually the weather was rainy and cold according to reports. As an experienced hotel/restaurant manager and owner, I do think Marriott would have been a better fit, as they specialize in standardization. B&B's are truly all unique and different, if you care to revisit, perhaps we will have a second chance to make it right for you. Wishing you a Cheerful Holiday Season. Celeste

Our lodging experience at this grand old historic home was superb. The residence is impeccably maintained and furnished; the breakfast, too, will leave you talking about it for days. Although Celeste was away, Gail took excellent care of us, and made extra efforts to accommodate a special need we had. Staying here is a little like a transport back in time but with many modern-day amenities. Keep this place in mind for a truly special occasion. --Jim & JoAnn Unruh
Dear Jim and JoAnn, thank you for your note, we are glad that you enjoyed your stay. Each year our family tries to take a vacation together and although there really seems no opportune time in the hospitality business we need to take some family time. I will pass long your comment to our innkeeper Gail, as she has been with our Inn for approx. 10 years, and I know I can always leave and feel confident that operations will run smooth.Have a great Holiday Season! It was a pleasure to have hosted you, Sincerely, Celeste

We arrived on Saturday afternoon with a note and key on porch. We entered the B&B and there was no one to greet us. We made it to the room--all named after Italian cities (Firenze)--and it was very nice. There was supposed to be a note in the envelope explaining everything but we either missed it or it was not included. The next day ran into someone who advised when Breakfast was. This was the only person we saw since arriving. Breakfast included a pear in wine reduction (yummy) and something that resembled a cross between french toast and bread pudding. It was OK but very fattening. Also, could have used chicken apple sausage as a side, but that was it. Very strange. We never did meet the owner. Someone at Breakfast opined they saw her.
Sorry I missed you, but in my afternoon absence my assistant innkeeper Erica and my other innkeeper Gail were here, some times the owner takes one afternoon or day off per week. All guests are invited and encouraged to visit our tasting salon Uncorked at Oxbow, in fact Sat we were hosting a large reception for McClelland -Priest Guests and locals. It was written on the board at the entrance of the B&B plus the map and pass were included in the welcome packet. If you booked through Expedia or BB.com you most likely were not informed of this but for future guests and as past guests have written we try and make it convenient and also cost saving should you arrive early and wish to begin you wine tasting experience. Gail prepared breakfast on Sunday, and I will pass along your comments, but we are very health oriented and mostly organic. In fact I teach sports nutrition at Napa Valley College. I will consider letting people know more of the ingredients used in the recipes. Chicken apple sausage, may be a nice addition but we don't use processed foods. If there are special dietary restrictions we like to know in advance. Thank you for your comment and my only suggestion is that if you have a half day in Napa, then consider it an overview, you might miss a few things as the average stay is 2-3 nights. In this case you missed me and I you, but staff was here. Sincerely, Celeste

I was greeted on the phone by Celeste, the owner-when my husband and I arrived she personally met us and we spent about half an hour to get to know each other. The packet of information about the area was marvelous and very useful. We stayed in the Roma suite-- it had a king size bed, huge roman bath, and lovely mabe fireplace. This inn is named after the two first owners and reflects many of their original ideas-- Celeste has embellished the rooms to make the most beautiful inn we have ever seen. We will definitely return to Napa and hope to stay again in this charming old Victorian home.
It was fun and great to host you! Next time you visit and perhaps stay in the Roma Suite you will see how we embellished the decor of the large king size bed, it now truly feels like a "Roman Spa". I have a passion for adding, changing, and adding new decor to the Inn. As you know it is an ongoing process with a home built in 1879. Thank you for your appreciation and having the opportunity to make your Napa Valley experience enjoyable and memorable.

Four of us stayed with Celeste on our anniversarries at the end of September 2010 and are we glad we did!! This place is a late 1800's Victorian style home. the bedrooms are beautiful, the breakfasts were awsome and Celeste is wonderful. You're only two blocks from downtown Napa, and walking is very easy. Celeste took care of making all of our dinner reservations as well as suggested some very nice, winerys to visit. It becomes apparent very quickly that everyone knows Celeste. Just drop her name and see if you don't get the five star tour where ever you go. And tasting fees.....most places waive the fees when you mention Celeste. Don't forget to visit "Uncorked" it's across the street from the Oxbow Market. Uncorked is a different way to enjoy a wine tasting. It's actually a barrell blending. Bruce Ahnfeldt, Celeste's husband of just over a year, is the owner of the establishment. Together, Bruce and Celeste own several acres of grapes which they turn into their own blend of very good wines. At the blending, Bruce will show you how they blend the different wines to come up with the right mix for their award winning wines. After about two hours of hands on blending, you become, in your mind a wine maker.....what fun. I can't say enough about this B&B, and wouldn't think twice of staying anywhere else. We'll be back. Thank You Celeste and Bruce.
Thank you for your review , we are very appreciative that you took the time to tell future potential guests about your enjoyable stay. Both Bruce and I love to educate and the barrel and blending sessions go hand in hand with the wine tasting itineraries that we have pre-arranged for our guests. We find that it helps our guests cue into their wine palates, especially before they begin visiting the vast number of Napa Valley Wineries. Happy Holidays and come celebrate your anniversaries again with us! Celeste

Celeste, the owner, really took care of us while we were in Napa. Many of the wine tastings were free or discounted and she had some great recommendations about restaurants and other things to do around the area. The room was spacious. The bathroom was a bit dated, but that is to be expected from a house built in 1879! Everything was very clean and cozy; I would definitely stay there again!

We were not sure what to expect as we booked a room here at the last minute and were really dismayed by the prices at most other places we researched in and around Napa. This turned out to be a very pleasant surprise. The B&B is a classic, beautiful home built in the late 19th century and most elements of the home have been kept true to the style. The rooms are unique, quiet and very comfortable. The location is just a few blocks from the heart of downtown Napa and convenient to head up to the wineries. Celeste, the owner of the B&B, is wonderful, friendly, and very helpful to guests. Celeste gave us a lot of pointers for wineries we would want to visit to suit our tastes and great recommendations for local restaurants. McClelland-Priest will be our first choice when returning to Napa.

This was the first B&B my husband and I have ever been to... and it MADE out Napa Valley Trip!! It was great. We stayed in the Firenze room and it was really perfect. The bathroom was large, calming, and with a jacuzzi tub. There was a fireplace, large COZY bed, great furniture, and a PRIVATE balcony!!! IT was PERFECT. The only thing that was a bit of a turn off were the other guests. Not that they were mean or anything... we just felt a bit out of place because everyone else that was staying here were much older than us! We are a young couple, recently married, and only 28-31yrs old. Most of the guests were about 40+ so we felt like the children in the house. Plus, when trying to make conversation with others, we felt kinda disregarded. But there were a few cooler people who didn't mind having a fun conversation!! P.S. Breakfast is crazy huge and filling. Thanks to everyone that made our stay to relaxing.

We loved our stay at the McClelland Priest! Celeste was wonderful and is so helpful for new comers like us. We will definitely be back!

My wife and I stayed at McClelland-Priest at the end of August and had a great experience. The property itself is beautiful and very well kept. The breakfast is incredible and filling. Finally, the owner, Celeste Carducci, is very helpful and informative. Staying with her also allows you to get tasting fees waived at most of the notable wineries in the area, which makes staying at McClelland Priest a great value. Not sure if the location is the best for those who don't have a car - since we did so I can't comment on walking distances to places, but the B&B is pretty much in the center of downtown Napa. I highly recommend staying at McClelland Priest!

I've been in B&B all around the world;this is definitely one of the best ones I have had the pleasure to stay in. Great location, incredible hospitality.

The title really describes our opinion of McClelland Priest. My wife and I stayed two nights here to celebrate our 1st anniversary and we really couldn't have been more pleased. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Napa.

The home and rooms are wonderful and the breakfast was way beyond our expectations!

Throroughly enjoyed our 2-day visit in the historic home. First class accommodations. Wine tasting agreements are excellent benefit. Very good breakfasts and enjoyed the evening wine tastings. Would definitely plan to visit again.

I chose this place for the rate. However, you get what you pay for. I hostess was not around when we checked in. Apparently she also runs a wine tasting bar as well as teach some wine tasting class. The breakfast was mediocure (yogurt and an egg soufle). I left hungry. I you want moderately inexpensive, stay here, but if you want service or a nice breakfast, find another B&B.
Thank you for your opinion, what I find amazing is that all of my guests that stayed over that time period and during that one evening 7/20 have written all rave reviews. If you really stayed here you would have raved about the B & B and Uncorked at Oxbow the wine tasting salon that we own and where our guests enjoy complimentary full wine flight tastings. For future guests, I don't "work" at a wine bar,not do I teach "wine classes". The truth is that I do have wine receptions for our guests on Tuesdays(7/20 was a Tues.) , Thursdays, Fridays, & Saturdays where we are open from 12 noon to 8:30pm at the tasting salon. We do offer Barrel tastings and blending sessions and that is educational. In addition, we have select wines out in the parlor at the B&B from 6pm on, for guests arriving late, or wanting an aperitif before dinner. Our breakfasts are full 2 courses, and if you would like a 2nd serving we are more than happy to serve you. We go beyond in service as you are catered to here at the B&B and also at the tasting salon. Hope you enjoyed all of the passes for the many wineries where we pre-arranged comp tastings for our guests, and the wineries are an extension of our service. If you did not see me upon check in, that is because many of the guests arrive early to take advantage of the maps and comp tastings.Your welcome packet is available front for your convenience. During the day I am running errands for the B&B, and perhaps a barrel and blending session. As you welcome note says my 800# rolls onto my cell and I am always accessible if not here. So as an angel of hospitality, I most likely offered a special rate for that evening, and will have to rethink the "budget" price point and expectations.

We very much enjoyed our stay here. The room was better than described. We stayed in the Tuscany Carriage House. It is very private, and is actually 2 rooms, with a small sitting room with fireplace attached to the bedroom. The room was very clean and comfortable. I appreciated the full size, name brand toiletries in the bathroom, plus there was a small selection of books for our enjoyment, and a patio with comfortable adirondack chairs right outside our door. Our hostess was very pleasant, but not around much. The place was deserted when we arrived in mid afternoon, but a packet of information was left out for us with our room keys, so we were able to settle in. There was a wine tasting around 7pm some nights. One night no one seemed to be home, and only wine left over from the night before was still out. We were sometimes confused about who were guests and who were hosts; once breakfast was served by a lady we had never seen before and she never introduced herself. Chatting with her in the parlor, we thought she was another guest. The same with the Celeste's partner: we thought he was a guest. We did take advantage of Celeste's connections to local wineries and had our tasting fees waived at several places. This can add up to substantial savings. Be sure to visit Uncorked, the owners' tasting room. John served us there and was a gem. The home was charming, very clean and well maintained. It is near downtown, within easy walking distance of several good restaurants. Breakfast was good, but tended toward very carb-heavy menus. I usually eat a low-carb protein diet and don't eat much sugar for breakfast, would have preferred more savory type foods such as eggs, cheese, and/or breakfast meats. But with that said, I can't complain about the delicious fresh fruit served daily, and the french toast was sumptious. All was beautifully presented. We would happily stay at the McClelland Priest again and certainly recommend it.

We stayed in the Carducci suite which was beautiful, Celeste is a wonderful host, and the breakfasts were amazing! Plus all of the wineries we visited had the tasting fees waived thanks to Celeste! We highly recommend staying here and hope to be back again soon!
Thank you, please come back and visit us, the Carducci Suite is getting a few new amenities this winter, we have added several new wineries to our itineraries and partnered with great drivers and driving services per chance you wish to enjoy the Napa Valley without the worry of driving.

Celeste Carducci is your host for a wonderful time in Napa and Wine Country. She patiently shares her wine knowledge and expertise with all her guests, insuring a rich and memorable experience. Her many contacts and goodwill with a number of the wineries prove to add value for her guests. We were able to take advantage of complimentary tastings at a some of the premier wineries in the Valley as a result of her guidance and contacts. Additionally, the 19th century Victorian home has been meticullously restored and preserved. The home offers great charm and elegance. The setting provides a romantic setting for both young and old. Finally, the breakfasts were thoughtfully prepared with fresh ingredients, to be both nutritious and very filling. I relished every bite, and was braced for a full day of touring Wine Country. Before we left to return home, we were anxiously preparing for our next trip to Napa and the McClelland-Priest Bed & Breakfast. We look forward to returning in 2011.
Thank you, it is really rewarding to hear that you enjoyed the ambiance of our circa 1879 B&B. Preservation, restoration and daily maintenance is ongoing. In addition, I may have mentioned, that I teach Health & Sports Nutrition at Napa Valley College. My philosophy is to use high quality and fresh ingredients and add a nice presentation. I know guests visit the Napa Valley to Wine and Dine but staying healthy is the key. If I can impart one great idea, a simple tasty breakfast offering that looks and tastes great,or a walking /running route, or even a selection of wineries that have perfected organic wines then I feel that I have helped my guests to enjoy a healthy, Napa Valley lifestyle experience.

Had a wonderful two day visit at this B&B! The room was lovely and clean, the innkeeper was extremely helpful about the area and gave out a folder full of passes to tastings! The breakfasts were wonderful, home made treats that helped to jump-start the day. The area was quiet as was the house. Huge roses abounded from most yards. Everything was walkable in Napa. The owners have a tasting location called uncorked-at-oxbow which was great fun.
It's Harvest time in the Napa Valley and the grapes are starting to come in. The roses are still in bloom but the vines are crimson, gold and green. It's time to revisit and enjoy this season, also our Uncorked at Oxbow Harvest Party is 10/23. Thank you and come back!

This in is what B&B's are all about. A great home built in the 1800's, kept in great condition so guest can enjoy a peak at the past and still be comfortable. It's also great to share the time with a great host, Celeste! a well known mover and shaker in the Napa community( from my observation) ) , she seems to know everyone and everyone , knows, respects and likes her. In our brief stay, we felt her sincerity, her desire to show us through recommendations, the best of what Napa has to offer. Would go back happily....
Thank you and just an update, we have added a few new wineries to our wine tasting tour itineraries for additional savings. Better than the savings, the wineries love our guests, keep us in your future travel plans, you will have to enjoy our barrel tasting and blending session at Uncorked at Oxbow.Thank you for staying with us!

What a great, big, beautiful house. It was really a treat to use this as our jumping-off place in Napa. The breakfasts were wonderful and our room was immaculate. My only criticism is that our room, the Firenze suite, is a little too cramped with furniture: between the armoire, the bed, fireplace and other furniture, there's not a lot of room left over and we were falling over our luggage. The patio is really nice...if only the weather cooperated enough for us to enjoy it more!
Thank you very much for your comments and truly appreciate your input. We are currently in the process of redoing a few rooms and yes, perhaps we can add a smaller armoire in the Firenze Suite and remove a few pieces. The outdoor terrace does add a great space, especially for early evenings with a glass of wine watching the sun set. I am glad we could set the stage for the beginning of your Napa Valley experience.

To be newly in love and in wine country on a beautiful weekend is a wonderful thing. A stay at the McClelland-Priest Bed & Breakfast could not have offered a more sublime setting for our blossoming love. We stayed in the Firenze Room and particularly enjoyed its deck -- we held each other, sipped wine and wondered at the vastness and greatness of the night sky. Celeste and Bruce were uncommonly gracious; they gave us all the ins and outs of our wine country tour. We also delighted in the wines of their own winery, Ahnfeldt Winery (our favorite is the Quid Pro Quo). Their commitment to detail and quality notable; we especially enjoyed the fine breakfast (as well as the conversations with our fellow guests). The location was ideal because we were within walking distance of tons of great restaurants. Everything was just perfect! Thanks for a great and most memorable visit. We will certainly make stays at the McClelland-Priest Bed & Breakfast a regular part of what we hope to be a 40+ year love affair.

To begin, we woke up to a fresh cup of coffee in a beautiful living room at McClelland-Priest B&B. Then we moved into the dining where we shared with other guests a delicious gourmet breakfast and learned more tips about our wine tasting tours in Napa. The hostess was very helpful and informative; she made us feel at home. She provided us with brochures and maps to other local attractions. The beautifully restored building is Victorian home from the nineteenth century. The architectural aesthetics displays a plethora of crown and luxurious ceiling moldings and exquisite room decor. It is a dream for antique lovers. We stayed at the Firenze Suite. This suite is finely ornamented with a cozy fireplace, Jacuzzi and beautiful terrace. The furniture and fireplace are made of intricately carved wood. With the comfortable bed and peaceful neighborhood, it is very easy to oversleep. However, the location is great, being at walking distance from various restaurants and shops. I loved every minute of my stay in McClelland-Priest B&B. I hope to go back many times in the near future.

We stayed here a few weeks ago. The location is convienient to downtown Napa- you can walk everywhere from Celedon to Taylor's Refresher. The Inn Keeper and owner were both very nice. Breakfast was original and delicious. Maps of wineries to visit were laid out for us. Service was superb. The room decor hadn't been updated in some time. That said, it was clean and serviced properly. Would visit again (definitely worth the price), but might look for a more updated property next time we're in Napa.

This is a beautiful Victorian manor in Napa, CA. Celeste, the host, is most gracious and serves a fabulous gourmet breakfast. Wine tasting is in the parlor in the evenings. I will difinitely return on my next visit to the area.
Thank you, it is fun to step back into time. I am working on some new recipes for your next visit!

My husband and I arrived very late in the evening, but Celeste left a key and personal welcome note for us at the door. The house is gorgeous - tall ceilings, clean, exquisite interior design, and so peaceful. We met Celeste the next morning for breakfast - incredible woman! Her background is food, wine and exercise. Extremely personable and extremely well-connected. She gave us her business card to drop at specific wineries and we drank for free all day! We stayed in the Roma Suite, which was much bigger than it looked in photos. I think next time we'll try the Carducci Suite! Wonderful, peaceful getaway.
Hospitality, Food, Wine & Fitness , it's about keeping it all in balance!Thank you for your review! We have added a few more wineries to the itinerary lists, plus our Napa Downtown tasting rooms have a new association "Buzz Downtown Napa" so guests can enjoy walking and tasting at our 19 tasting rooms each offering a special tasting complimentary or 2 for one. Visiting the wineries is great, but now guests can spend one day just in Napa strolling from virtually vineyard to vineyard. Happy Valentines!

My wife and I stayed at this Inn from 10/10 - 10/16/09 and were very happy with our stay. The Inn's owner, Celeste, is very knowledgeable about the wine industry and has personal relationships with many wineries in the Napa and Sonoma valleys therefore we were able to save several tasting fees. Her daily breakfasts were delicious and her interactions with her guests during nightly wine socials helped us plan for our outings the next day. We will definitely return to this Inn in the future, as the personal attention and advice Celeste provides cannot be replicated in other hotels and Inns.
Thank you we enjoyed hosting you too! It's nice to hear guest perspectives on the social time whether at the B&B or the tasting salon. It seems that we always have a great "blend" of guests! Cheers and visit again soon.

I know this is a bit after the fact -- we stayed here for our 28th (or 27th?, lost count) wedding anniversary back in November of 2008. Even though I tripped coming down the stairs ( I'm not very graceful) and made a 'grand' entrance to the welcome hour, we had a GREAT time. Celeste is unbelievable and this place is fantastic for a romantic get a way. The in-room double massage probably accounted for the rubbery legs on the staircase! We have traveled parts of Europe and South America and this place ranks up there with the best. We'll be back for sure.
Cheers! My guests I hope you are still celebrating your special Day, I think it's time to revisit, Bruce and I opened Uncorked at Oxbow our new state of the art tasting salon, next time you are looking at Europe come and stay here again Italian style!

Where does one begin. Celeste is a very personable person who is very willing to help wirh any facet regarding your trip at any of the many wineries. I could go on and on about all the nice things my wife experianced. But with all reviews I read, I think people have already summed up on how well Celeste done putting a great BB together. This is a place I would not having problem coming back every year. Celeste, I want to personally thank you and Bruce for a wonderful time. Good luck to you guys and continued sucess.
Thank you very much, we certainly enjoy our guests and truly appreciate your acknowledgment of our service.I guess, I look at it as a guest myself. If I were visiting a wine country for the first time and there were 400+ wineries within 26 miles, I would look for some guidance, in addition to value. We have been in Napa for 23 years, and while being in the hospitality industry we have made a lot of connections along the way.Why not share! The B&B and tasting salon Uncorked at Oxbow, go hand in hand. Our guests enjoy the close walking distance from the B&B to the Oxbow area, which is truly an up and coming area as you while visiting the tasting salon. Come back again, we have new things on the "plate". Cheers!

unfortunatly I stayed jusy for a night but it was unforgettable for the welcome, availability, room, tasting and braekfast!
Dear Guest, thanks you for your positive review, and yes next time you need to stay a bit longer. The average stay in the Valley is 2-3 days, and as you may know we are also very close in proximity to the Carneros region, known for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay and 15 minutes from lower Sonoma. Next time you will have to visit and meet my connections there! Cheers!

My husband and I stayed at this charming B&B July '09, while in Napa for the Napa-to-Sonoma Half marathon. Celeste is a wonderful hostess and fantastic cook! If you love French toast, she ranks in the top two we've ever had! When you step through the front doors, you are transported to an era of parlors, sitting rooms, spiral staircases and hardwood floors. Don't look for a flat screen or mini-bar. Instead, enjoy the sounds of smooth jazz and classical music while sipping a glass of her very own wine. We'll return next year! Enjoy your stay!
Thank you for your great comments, it is truly a joy to know how guests really appreciate all that goes into the hospitality and hosting and blending people from around the world. I really enjoyed hosting you both, as we very much relate to the running world. I was sorry to have missed this race, but the training miles were thrown off a bit as you know, opening Uncorked at Oxbow in June...etc. Next year you can count on me running, but try and come and visit before! Cheers! Celeste

We are nit-picky. Celeste is very nice and helpful. She has many wine connections, and can offer discounts, insight, tips, and knowledge about wine and area restaurants. She and Bruce have their own winery, and you get free tastings through Celeste. They hosted a 6pm wine reception the night we stayed. They served not one bottle of their own wine. The dirty glasses and leftover food were still sitting around in the morning. Breakfast was OK, food was good, but the serving was not clear. It was unclear when the first plate came out if that was all or if there was more. Dishes were not explained. We were told coffee would be available at 8, it wasn't till closer to 9. Please note that coffee is important to us (I roast my own beans) We stayed in the Puccini suite. The bathroom was in the room but down a couple steps. There was no place to put any of your toiletry items. Hand towels were on a towel bar, away from the sink, bath towels were folded and far away from the shower with no place to put them near the shower. The towels were in poor condition. I prefer them nice, large and fluffy. The room was spacious and clean. The furniture should be re-arranged. There were two comfortable chairs, they were not placed well for conversation. No bedside tables, nowhere to put your things. Beautiful looking, not at all practical. Some other B&B's we've stayed at provide more of a feeling of a home than the McClelland-Priest B&B. It's not a bad place to stay, just not the best.
Dear Guests, thank you for your many suggestions, yes a bit nit picky but good input. The evening reception usually is from 6-7:15 pm and then guests stroll to their dinner reservations. If guests are enjoying their time and stay longer we try and accommodate and refill the wines not to rush them.Sorry for the inconvenience on the coffee, I understand there are very early risers and we try and have the coffee out early and reception cleared very early if not the night prior. Wish you could have brought your suggestions forth on the Puccini Suite prior to your departure, there is much history on the room and the step down bathroom..etc. Perhaps I could have switched your room or tried to make it more practical for your stay.We do have many tables and sitting areas in our rooms, and they are spacious, but please understand we are not a hotel with room standardization. We try and make all of our guests rooms different, but I will consider your suggestions. One correction, Bruce and I do not own a winery, we have vineyards and we showcase our line of wines at our newly opened tasting salon Uncorked at Oxbow. These wines are not reception type wines, they are more complex and food style wines. From time to time, I do feature the Ahnfeldt Sauvignon Blanc at the B&B . I have many wineries that I work with as you did experience with all the connections and comp tasting fees ,so yes I like to feature a variety of their wines at the B&B and promote others than ourselves. Bruce and I welcome all of our guests to come to the tasting salon and enjoy a comp ($30 value per person) tasting, and enjoy the entire flight of wines.Usually guests leave feeling like part of the family, if guests stay for one night, that may be difficult because they are trying to pack in a lot in one day.Sorry we weren't your best select but good input. Sincerely, Celeste

I stayed at the McClelland Priest during my honeymoon and my wife and I could not have had a better time. Celeste the owner did a great job at guiding us in the right direction to visit the right wineries as well as helping us to get complimentary tastings. The house was built in the 1800's and kept in original condition. I would recommend anyone who wants to take a trip to Napa to stay at the McClelland-Priest bed and breakfast. Thanks Matt
Hi Matt, yes we did have a great time. As you may remember we were working on our tasting room "Uncorked at Oxbow" well it opened on June 4th. My boyfriend and I live in Sacramento, and I surprised him with a short overnight trip to Napa for his birthday. The welcome packet had loads of info and valuable coupons. Our room was comfortable and clean, no complaints there! Celeste was a charming and informative hostess. Her dinner recommendation was fantastic, we loved the wine-tasting happy hour, and breakfast was absolutely delicious. She has even re-inspired me to train for my second half-marathon this summer :) Thanks, Celeste, we will be back soon- One night wasn't enough!
Hi My guests from Sacramento! Yes we had a great time, wish you could have stayed longer but as I mentioned you will need to come back for at least 2 nights, there are about 4 different itineraries with wineries that offer amazing tastings so you will need at least an extra day to visit and meet the owners. I am very glad you enjoyed yourself and I wanted you to know that there is a great race in your area. It is called the 14th Annual Helen Klein Running Classic on Oct. 31st 2009. Talk about inspiration, Helen is 80+ years and still running! I am thinking about doing it , and it begins in Granite Bay.The contact info is Helen or Norman Klein 916-859-0821. What a wonderful place to stay! We had such an amazing stay here. Everything is walking distance and Celeste took care of everything to make our stay peaceful and enjoyable! Wine tasting was perfect, all the locations we were referred to were complimentary tastings, because we stayed at this B and B! We will be back!
Thank you for your compliments! We try and add as much comfort and value into your stay. Many of the wineries where I have arranged comp tastings have seen my guests for over 20 years. They are actually an extension of our service and treat our guests special. We look forward to hosting you again! Sincerely, Celeste

We stayed for only one night, which was not enough to fully enjoy the charm and uniqueness of this place...! I rented two room for me (and my girlfriend) and my parents who visited from Europe. They loved it. We also enjoyed the social events offered: while having appetizers and wine, we were able to converse with other guests from all over the states, all over the world. The breakfast was exquisit, the host and owner Celeste was great and very helpful planning our visit. I am looking forward to come back!
What a treat to meet guests from all over the world and thank you for your compliments as we truly enjoy entertaining and blending guests! We look forward to your return and next time for at least 2 days! Ciao! Celeste

Celeste gives you far more than just a B&B!!! She is so committed to your enjoying your entire stay in the Valley area, and is extremely well networked. She knows everyone at the wineries and helps you get the VIP treatment at some of the most unique and wonderful places. I would not stay at another place, this is the place!!!
Dear Guest "More " thank you for your fun and energy ! I am very pleased that you understand and appreciate the enjoyment, time and talent that I have a passion for in my B&B business. The networking that I have done for my guests is the extension of "the experience" that a traveler to the Napa Valley should experience during their stay. Hurry back, there's even more fun and great value ahead! Cheers! Celeste

My husband and I had a great time! Celeste was very helpful with everything from winery recommendations and tasting fee discounts/free tastings to dinner recommendations to a running route that had us going through vineyards. The breakfasts were outstanding and included things like pear in red wine reduction, French toast with blueberries, egg strada with chiles and topped with fresh salsa. The evening wine tastings were also fun to meet other guests and chat. One of the wine tastings was even done by someone from Rubicon (Francis Coppola's vineyard). This is the only B&B I have stayed in where I had access to free weights - there's a little weight room on an enclosed porch, so you can do a dumbell workout with a pleasant view. If we ever get back to Napa we will stay here again.
Dear "Love this Place", Yes we did have a lot of fun,and the fitness dimension to the B&B just adds to creating the balance of wine, food and health. When you come back and stay a bit longer you can go to the gym with me and try out my Spin, PowerSculpt and Core classes that I teach before breakfast. A great way to start the day! Hurry back more healthy & tasty recipes on the way , To Your Health! Celeste

My friend and I stayed for only one night but it was the most enjoyable stay of our entire week long trip through Napa and San Francisco. Celeste was helpful and accomodating. The day we arrived, she was doing one of her many interviews she does for magazines and newspapers as she is an expert on the area. She left the key outside the door along with an envelope with wine tasting coupons and a map of recommended wineries to visit. We hardly needed the coupon. When we showed her business card, the wine started flowing. We could have easily stayed at a cheaper motel/hotel but the money we saved in tasting easily made up for the $200.00 we spent for the night. We stayed in the Roma Room. Sipping wine in the jacuzzi after a day of tours was the perfect touch. Celeste even provides wine and cheese in the living room around 5:30pm. It is a fantastic setting to converse with the other guests. Book here before someone smarter than you does.
Dear past guest, time to get present again we miss you, the wine itineraries are growing and we look forward to your return again soon! If you need a Napa Valley get a way, there are some specials on the way. Cheers , I am glad you had such a wonderful time and thank you for your great review. Sincerely, Celeste

This was my husband and I's first B&B stay and it was amazing. Celeste was fabulous in helping us plan our time in Napa- from all the wineries we had free tasting passes to, to choosing restaurants for dinner. We will never have to try another B&B in Napa because we will return to McCelland Priest!
Dear Guest "Local", that's my goal to have you feel the experience at the B&B and the continued extension our our Napa Valley Hospitality as you tour and travel. It's been almost 2 years time to hurry back! Sincerely, Celeste
