Located in the heart of the historic Village, the Sea Gull Inn is one of the original bed and breakfasts in Mendocino. We invite you to sit in our beautiful gardens, relax and unwind from the stresses of your life, or spend time with family and friends. In the morning, we’ll serve you a delicious organic breakfast in your room, on the deck, or in the gardens. We have sample itineraries for daily activities and will be happy to share our thoughts on the best local wineries and eateries.

Just returned from a 2 night stay at the Seagull Inn, and, as usual, had a marvelous time. The room is lovely and affordable and perfectly situated on the edge of town. The owners - Jim and Ayla, are friendly and helpful, sharing information about what to see and where to eat. They serve a delicious breakfast at your room for no additional cost. The gardens at the Seagull are quite beautiful and a good place to sit and enjoy a good book or a quiet snooze. I think you'll find it as enjoyable a place to stay as we have for these many years. The atmosphere was quite peaceful and quaint. We enjoyed the beauty from our porch and the awesome scenery on the grounds. Just a short walk to the shops and the eateries The Mendocino Cafe right next door and Patterson's. Our favorite part was breakfast with a berry yogurt muffin and lots of good coffee. This stay far exceeded our expectations in every way. All I can say as the words of the governator "I'll be back".

The Sea Gull Inn was a great place to stay in Mendocino. The location is perfect. It is close to everything. It was relaxing and quiet. Breakfast was delicious and couldn't be more convenient served directly to the room. The only caveat is if you are looking for a B&B with common areas this would not be your place.

Located right in town, it was a pleasant walk everywhere and any where you wanted to go. Our room, Outlook 1 - There was one hanger in the closet (for two people to share?). The bathroom was small with no shelving or place to put any toiletries except on the toilet seat. It was also a bit tatty. - dry rot, musty smell. Towels were like sandpaper. Shower stall was VERY small with no water pressure at all and the nozzle was permanently affixed so that what spray there was, was aimed at the corner. I must have hit my arm on the wall 50 times. Continental breakfast was very good and delivered to our room (no common dining area). Garbage trucks came at 7:30am, 8:00am and another one a bit after that. Don't plan on sleeping in! Even after we told the maid we'd be gone on 15 minutes, she still knocked on our door three times. Nothing like starting the day feeling rushed. Innkeeper was friendly and animated and welcoming. Bed was very comfortable and the room had plenty of beautiful natural light. Perfect place over the walled-up fireplace (non-working) for a flat screen TV but alas, no TV. Deck outside had two comfortable rocking chairs with a commanding view of the ocean. The garden was partially in bloom and absolutely gorgeous. Might stay here again in a different room.
We would like to thank the guest for taking the time to provide a review, and thank them for the positive aspects. We do wish they would have let us know that there were missing hangers or if they would prefer one of our available rooms that had a television. Unfortunately, despite our efforts over 8 years, we are unable to affect the timing of the weekly trash pick-up. While none of the staff on duty this particular day remembers multiple trips to the room, we regret that we apparently made the guest feel rushed when we were looking to remove the breakfast tray. Prior staff who made guests feel rushed have been dismissed, and current staff normally excel at making the guest feel comfortable. We will endeavor to ensure the guest is not rushed.

We stayed in the "Shed" for our anniversary & Valentines Day weekend. Room was quaint. Breakfast was delivered to our room and the food was fantastic. The owners are very nice and friendly. Beautiful gardens to sit and relax or have our breakfast.
