Located in the heart of the historic Village, the Sea Gull Inn is one of the original bed and breakfasts in Mendocino. We invite you to sit in our beautiful gardens, relax and unwind from the stresses of your life, or spend time with family and friends. In the morning, we’ll serve you a delicious organic breakfast in your room, on the deck, or in the gardens. We have sample itineraries for daily activities and will be happy to share our thoughts on the best local wineries and eateries.

Our four day stay in the Sand Dollar room at the Sea Gull Inn was just what we needed. Mom and I had planned a goodbye trip with a friend of ours who as it turned out was too ill to travel. Jim and Ayla were very accomodating and understanding with our last minute change of reservations. Once there, the warm and cozy room, the comfortable beds, and the delicious breakfast brought to us every morning, were just what we needed. We usully didn't get up and dressed and out of our room until around 2:00 every day. When we finally did venture out, the whimsical garden reserved hidden delights in every corner. The town of Mendocino is charming, and we came home rested, renewed, and refreshed.

We statyed in the Barn and it was perfect. We were on a three day kayaking trip and it was wonderful to return to a nice, warm and very comfortable cottage after every outing. Breakfast was absolutely delicious. The Sea Gull Inn will definitely be a go-to BB for our next trip. Thank you so much!

We had spent 3 weeks traveling in California and had stayed a various places including several B&Bs. We were very pleased with the Sea Gull Inn. The owners are gracious and informative, the room was very comfortable and very clean, and the breakfast was delicious! It is located within Mendocino, with a short walk to downtown and the surrounding park with stunning views of the Pacific Ocean

The SeaGull Inn is conveniently located in Mendocino, within walking distance of the major in-town areas. The rooms are of varying sizes and shapes, but all are comfortably outfitted. Our room had a stove and heater in the basement to supplement for the cooler evenings. There is no AC. The breakfast was generous and served in room, since there is no communal dining area. The grounds have a variety of seating areas and some interesting plant life and artwork. A pleasant space to stay in Mendocino town.

We stayed here for a single night, in a very pleasant room that opened onto a garden courtyard. Our only complaint about our experience was that the management disturbed us multiple times in the morning about the breakfast tray, and rushed us at checkout, coming by to get the keys. Other than that it was a nice and very comfortable room in a great location right in town.
Ayla and I, Jim, (the owners) would like the reviewer to know how much we regret that our staff disturbed and rushed them. This is not how we wish our guests to be treated and it is not how we have trained our staff. However, the situation has given us pause and opportunity for re-education with a renewed focus on our customer service. Since reading this review the day it was posted, we have gone back and rewritten our training guidelines and sat down with each of our staff members to emphasize what Ayla and I expect of staff, that being: the happiness, comfort and well being of our guests from the moment they arrive to the moment they depart.

We were looking for last minute places to stay and found a gem. Breakfasts were delicious and hospitality was spot on! Would stay again if we ever find ourselves in Mendocino.

I decided to take a last minute weekend trip to Mendocino for some R&R. I could not find a place to stay. So I found the last room at the SG B&B. Great price and location. Oh my gosh it is an awesome place to stay. The beach was across the street and restaurants and walking distance. I stayed for 2 nights and I loved it. The room was gorgeous and so clean. The bed was heavenly! I can't believe that breakfast was included and delivered to my room. I would definitely recommend the Sea Gull B&B. The Inn keepers are so nice and helpful. I give this place 4 stars!!! Thank you Jim and Ayla! MO
