Mendocino Farmhouse is nestled in a private forest setting just minutes from the village of Mendocino, surrounded by beautiful gardens with open meadows and a pond. The farmhouse is filled with comfortable antique furnishings, wallpapered rooms, flowers, and an eclectic collection of books and music. All rooms have private baths and some have fireplaces. The barn cottage, located across from the farmhouse features two rooms, each with private baths and stone fireplaces in a separate sitting area. Each room has its own private entrance. After you have spent a very restful night's sleep in one of our comfortable rooms you will wake up to a hearty farmhouse breakfast.

The Mendocino Farmhouse is about 2 miles and a whole ambiance away from Mendocino Village. It's tucked into a redwood forest, with meadows and outdoor tables. We stayed in John's Room, which was huge and fell asleep to a fire in our fireplace. Peace, quiet, and 5 minutes drive to the ocean after wandering in the redwoods. Margie was welcoming and warm to us, even cooking something special for me, when I couldn't eat what she'd cooked for everyone else because of dietary restrictions. The quiche with a mushroom crust on our last day was to die for.

We had a wonderful night at Mendocino Farmhouse on our drive up the west coast. Our host Margie was thoughtful and quietly attentive; she even had gentle Hawaiian guitar music playing softly during our tasty breakfast to get us in the mood for the exotic destination on our trip. Thank you for a delightful stay.

Had a great four day stay at the Farmhouse. Margie was a lovely lady and made us feel at home in a very genuine way. We were sorry to leave. Breakfasts were delicious and the room comfortable and homely. Graham & Liz Ball

The grounds are absolutely wonderful. Such an idyllic spot. My only minor complaint was that there was not enough light to read by in our room.

Quiet. Tranquil amidst a clearing of redwoods yet only a couple minutes from town, and away from the fog. An oasis. Cozy. Delicious breakfasts. lovely scented garden, sweeping meadow and pond to sit by.

Room smelled a bit musty but it may have been the weather. Breakfast was great! No TV but Internet connectivity...

If you want a romantic relaxing weekend, this is your go-to. I would recommend to choose the barn over the rooms in the house but only because it's even more quiet out there. Margie is a very nice lady and she makes the most amazing breakfast. All in all: Very good choice!

We've stayed here twice and had a wonderful time. Margie's rooms are plush and comfy, with lots of attention to detail, her grounds are lovely and her breakfasts are delicious.
