We stayed here for 2 nights in the winter of 2009, and stayed 4 nights this time around. The Library Room is amazing - old books from the late 1800s and encyclopedias from the 1960s. And a real fireplace. Cindy and Charles's breakfasts are unbeatable, and their kind hospitality are second to none! A true gem.

This was our fifth visit to the Joshua Grindle Inn. Each visit has been a delight. The house is lovely and the garden is a marvel. The level of service provided by Cindy and Charles is exemplary. Their attention to detail, their expertise and their discreet but efficient management of the place is a pleasure. The breakfast is always delicious, elaborate and never the same. The inn is located in the village of Mendocino, which offers a unique blend of tranquility, beauty and sophistication. The restaurants, art galleries and wineries in the area are first rate. We plan many more visits.
