    Loved the Sausage Rolls

    July 28, 2008

I stayed here for one night back in October 2007 in the water tower room. The bed was very comfortable and the fireplace in the room was nice. Breakfast in the morning was in the main room and it was buffet style. It was fun meeting all the other guests that came in during breakfast as well. Breakfast was informal as well. The item that stands out most was the wonderful sausage rolls with the mustard dipping sauce. I am not a sausage lover but I sure loved those! I hope that they will keep making those so I can have them again when I return! The B & B was very modern and is a nice change from the victorian style B & B. I would love to return and try some of the other rooms in the future.

    Great Gardens!

    January 24, 2008

This was our 1st stay in Mendocino. The room was nice, a little cottage detached form the main house overlooking the garden. My only complaint about the room were the ants. They just changed their menu shortly before our stay, so some of the items we were looking forward to trying weren't available anymore. But overall it was a great experience.

    Amazing garden!

    October 18, 2007

The JD House was great- we stayed in Kit's Cabin & loved the privacy. The staff was helpful with dinner suggestions & the town was very charming. Not B&B specific, but if you want to take the Skunk Trail Railroad, make a reservation! If there are no resv., they tell the conductor not to drive in from 50miles away and cancel the train for the day! Back to the B&B though, breakfasts were spectacular & the amazing bed was best!!

    Literally the BEST!

    April 30, 2007

My husband and I stayed here on our Honeymoon last May. The Inn keeper was the best, the breakfast was to die for and they even gave us a complimentary bottle of wine to celebrate our marriage! We definitey enjoyed the fireplace in our room and enjoyed mingling with other guests while staying there. I highly recommend the John Dougherty House to anyone looking for the BEST Bed and Breakfast in Mendocino!

    Magical Place!

    March 01, 2007

My husband and I stayed here over July 4th and what a magical place it was. The rooms are unique, clean, and have great views of the ocean. We stayed in Kit's Cabin and loved our wood stove (it is cold at night in July!) The inn keeper greeted us at the door and made sure we knew where everything was located. The soft robes are amazing and even the toiletries are a luxury. We will definitely return to this Mendocino treasure!

    Loved it!

    February 06, 2007

We stayed at JD for our honeymoon. During our honeymoon we traveled through CA and stayed at a few B&Bs. We loved JD the best. And we look forward to returning. The room was great! We like that we had our own padio to watch the view of Mendocino. Can't wait to return. And the breakfast they do is really nice. We had help arranging our days with the host. Very nice. Again, can't wait to return.

    Wonderful Stay

    January 17, 2007

Our stay at JD house was a wonderful experience; from reservations to our check-out. The location is great and accessible to downtown mendocino; driving isn't necessary when you can walk to local restaurants and shops. We were at the Raven room, and the ocean view from our room was spectacular. Breakfast was good and even got the recipe for their "home-made" scones.
