Unique shops, beautiful galleries, and fine dining are just steps away. The inn property adjoins 3 state parks. Another 4 parks & preserves are within a maximum 15 minutes drive away. Unlimited hiking, biking, kayaking & breathtaking views await. Situated in the garden, the hot tub features a relaxing view of the garden, beach, and ocean. A great place to watch the stars and the moonlight on the waves. A full breakfast is served each morning in our ocean view dining room. You may also choose to snuggle in your room with a continental breakfast delivered. At Alegria, as at other inns and restaurants in Mendocino, we are committed to supporting sustainable agriculture. My wife and I just finished our anniversary stay at Alegria; second year in a row. As we drove down Route 1 and through Anderson Valley on our way back to the airport, we were sad to be leaving and wished we had booked at least a few more days. We stayed in the Pacific Suite, a good size space on the second floor of the main house with a deck overlooking the beach. We look forward to returning next year, but for now, it's back to our home in New Hampshire. Alegria is situated on a bluff above the beach, Big River Beach, at a place where the Big River converges with Mendocino Bay. The beach is part of the Mendocino Headlands State Park. We walked down to the beach every morning before breakfast. It was a perfect start to each day. Our wonderful hosts, the location close to town, easy access to the beach, the corner fireplace, our deck with a view of the beach through the eucalyptus tree, the pleasant breakfast room, the headlands, and the serenity contributed to a supremely comfortable experience for us. Alegria is not a luxury resort awash in activity. Instead, it offers a personal and uniquely calming environment that is just right for my wife and me. Thank you Elaine and Eric for a wonderful stay. See you next year!

This was our 36'th wedding anniversary vacation and the beautiful B&B exceeded our expectations, accross the board. Scenic, quiet, amazing gardens, scrumptous breakfast and friendly service and hospitality. The foot path directly down to the beach was terrific as well as the view from our private balcony at the Seabreeze room on the 2'nd floor. We will have to come back.

We've been frequent visitors to Mendocino for the past 13 years and have stayed in many of the B&Bs,all of which are good, a few even great, but Alegria is in its own class. Eric, Elaine and Toni are miracle workers; every little detail is attended to, the place is super clean and cozy and the location, with the private path to the beach, can't be beat. We keep coming back and telling our friends. Alegria is so great that it ruined us; we wouldn't ever stay anywhere else. :)

We have stayed at the Allegra multiple times over the last 5 years, and while we enjoy it, the 'excellence' has decreased a bit. Especially the trail to the beach and the rising cost. Next time we will try another place (to our disappointment). If you want an ocean view, a great breakfast and good cookies, it's a great place.

This was the place to get engaged to the woman I love. Eric and Elaine were great host and make sure your stay is great from the cookies to the breakfast to the views just awesome. My cottage was just perfect from the flowers to the balloons to the basket just an awesome weekend get-away. Can't say enough about the place

The staff at Algeria is very personable and accomadating. Superb breakfast, and they are willing to make changes to meet your personal desires. The rooms are quaint, but spacious and quiet. A great place to stay.

For a very relaxing, comfortable and warm place to stay in Mendocino this is it. We come here every year for our anniversary and wouldn't think of staying anywhere else. The entire staff is excellent and breakfast every morning is wonderful.
